Delicious fluffy crust pizza! While this is a takeout location, there are a lot of parking spots to sit and eat your pizza if you can't wait to drive home. My directions took me to the front of the building, so I went around to the back and Pizza Rosa is right on the corner. We ordered online and our pizzas were ready when we arrived. I got a cheese pizza and my husband got a pizza with sausage and chilies. I tried both. I think there's a flavor missing from the cheese pizza. To get here, you need to go down the road that leads towards storage units, make a right once you get down the hill. Pizza Rosa is the first shop on the right. I think it was the same one who answered the phone when i had ordered 15 mins prior All of the pizzas they offer sounded really good but 2 pizzas was plenty for my fiancé and I. We picked the Fumo (spicy sausage, Calabrian peppers) and the Margherita (mozzarella, tomato, basil). The crust was slightly charred and crunchy on the outside but airy and a bit chewy, in a good way, on the inside. There is a soft layer of bread between the crust and the topping. There was minimal communication between us when I picked up my pizzas, yet I was automatically charged 15% tips without my knowledge. If you haven't visited Pizza Rosa, Run don't walk to check this place out. Pizza Rosa is located in Old Town G-Burg surrounded by HVAC suppliers and a basketball court. It's unassuming and almost hidden. There are no tables inside or out and if I were in the area, I honestly wouldn't know to look for grub there. But on a Sunday, we pre-ordered and picked up dinner. They've got an array of pasta and refrigerated foods/stuff to take home. Def an electric range of beers and wine as well. We ordered: Beet Salad- Fresh (no wilted greens here) and tasty with generous portions of arugula, bite size chunks of beets and thinly sliced radishes. The tagliatelle was perfectly al dente - amazing is all the words I can say. You can tell it's not box pasta. I devoured all of my pasta in 5 minutes (literally). Margherita and Black Truffle Pizza - (you could actually Taste the mushroom and smell the truffle - wowzers!). The pizzas were very good, the crust being a bit more on the doughy side than if you prefer Brooklyn or Neapolitan style pizzas. Hazelnut Chocolate Cake- I would love to say I enjoyed it but my little one devoured more than his fair share aka all of it. You could actually taste the hazelnuts and not just the ones on top. 220 is a huge building that has a bunch of businesses inside. Pizza Rosa is the first one on the backside! The sign isn't huge or anything, but if you walk up you will see the logo on the window. When you step inside, you see a bunch of pastas (also theirs), vinegars, sauces... even beers & wines! But you don't see pizza... so you might be wondering where it is? But don't worry... once you're in there, you smell it! If you walk to the back you'll see a counter and even more products to buy! There is a stack of menus on the counter that has pizza and several other dishes. On recommendation, I decided to get the Fumo and the beet salad that had a homemade lemon poppyseed vinaigrette. The Fumo was meaty and spicy, and OH MY GOD I love their dough! You can definitely taste the quality in it. I can simply say it's a great pizza. It's not the heaviest either! The salad had mandarin oranges, goat cheese, beets and greens as the main part of it. My sister is vegan, and if not for the goat cheese, I would've recommended it to her. The beets were packaged separately -- I'd recommend doing that with the goat cheese for the vegans! My sister & fam also came to try the spot out with me, and my nieces LOVED their margherita pizza. The garlic knots and marinara were also delightful! The knots were the perfect bite-size, and were nice and light -- though not as garlicky as some others I've had! All in all, it was a delightful experience. Heads up -- there are NO chairs inside and there are no benches outside, so this is a to-go type of deal... but there are some tires at the business next door that I found myself comfortable sitting on. I've had pizza from Pizza Rosa twice this week! First time was through DoorDash. I got the Black Truffle Pizza and BBQ pork sandwich. The Truffle Oil smelled so good! Loved the pizza with the chewy bit light crust! I'm obsessed with the pizza dough! The combo of mushrooms, Truffle Oil and cheese was really yummy! The BBQ pork sandwich was huge! The roll that it came with was delish. Nice crusty exterior, a little chewy and flavourful. Held up to the BBQ sauce well! Second time, I called in my order and opted to go pickup! Got to see the shop as they are in the Open Hands spot. Got the Margherita pizza, garlic nots and beet salad. All yummy! Definitely going to be back cause there's more on the menu I want to try! Ordered a large pepperoni pizza 14" (17$) for to go via call and the service was solid. The pepperoni pizza was very good: it had a crispy texture to it and the dough was easily the main star. Charming boutique food shop with top-notch pizza as its calling card. For two senior adults, we took home two 10 "pizza pies for lunch today. Margharita and Fumo (spicy!). We've had plenty and now have enough for a second meal! We normally seek a very thin crust. This one is not super thin, but it won us over. The crust was pleasantly chewy featuring some small air pockets giving it a light feel that reminds me of my mom's Italian bread. The result is a crust base that is made to hold it all together with an edge you can confidently hold on to and still enjoy eating as a "bone." Seems perfect especially for hand eaters. Honestly, I'd eat the bread alone with some EVOO, garlic and black pepper. Might ask if a loaf is possible next time. Toppings were excellent but the fresh cheese was especially so. The shop offers a surprisingly interesting variety of foodstuffs. For example, we bought squid ink bucatini, red tomato sauce, and coffee cream cake to make a second meal tomorrow. We know this because we moved here from Phoenix and the sauce is from Pizza Bianco, if you know pizza you know what this means.. It's simply the best! He was there and told us about his pasta, deserts and the story behind his business. We were checking out a house in the area and so far I know what our go-to pizza place will be if we end up buying the house. This is the best pizza anywhere if you like a medium crust. Our go-to toppings (selection is great) are pepperoni, sausage, truffle mushroom, rapini + parmesan but you cannot go wrong. I have to be brutally honest, the pizza was average if not below considering it's a specialty pizza parlor. Margherita: maybe the worst I've ever had in terms of flavor. Probably one of easiest pizzas to make good with solid ingredients. Couldn't taste the basil and the sauce was very bland. They definitely aren't sourcing their ingredients well; the real stuff won't allow a sauce to be this lackluster as someone who makes pizza. Even a can of San Marzano from the local supermarket can make a fabulous sauce with little effort (seasoning, sugar, olive oil). Truffle: This pizza was decent but I wouldn't say it's quite there yet. I would suggest using a little bit less cheese and then go from there. For both pizzas I would say the dough was pretty good and the bright spot, but still you gotta put it all together w/ sauce and toppings so they have some work to do to improve. I'm not sure about all the 5 star reviews, maybe they are of the friends/family variety or some quality/control/process issues. Service for product was fine; Portions were good. We have ordered 3 separate times and no, we are not friends nor family. Stumbled upon them a few months ago and tried the Truffle pizza from recommendations, and the crust was amazing. (Ordered from Uber Eats) Good dough means great crust... it was perfect, having a nice chew with a bite and nice doughy air pockets and a light char on some of the bubbles. It was fragrant with the truffle oil and perfect with the mushrooms. The next visit brought about us trying the pepperoni and loved it as well. Another perfect pie. Last night, we tried their margherita and Fumo pizzas, our newest favorites, and we picked it up. Waze told us to turn right, but we had to turn left, to get to it, drive between the two buildings of office complex, down a slight decline, and it's on the right side. The margherita had a strong fragrance of basil. I do wish they would sprinkle fresh basil after it cooked so the freshness of the basil permeates. The Fumo had sausage crumbles, which were tasty & nicely spiced, and its heat from the calabrian chilis was present but not overbearing. The smokiness of the cheese was too subtle for me. I didn't know it was present until I read the description. It was still a perfect pizza. All three visits, all the pizzas had a nice subtle char on the air pockets, no greasiness (no heaviness after eating it, chewy substantle crust. The pizza here is the star of the show and it's really good. Picked up a custom veggie (couldn't seem to do this through the website, but was able to with Uber Eats) and the truffle pizza.
