I love CSNY Pizza! I always order online. The online system is super easy to use. I have ordered from here many times. I love that my pizza is still hot when I arrive. This my first time to order the Sicilian version which is the square or rectangular one. The slices are long not cut up into mini squares or large squares. You can ask for how you it want it cooked. You can customize your pizza by putting a topping on one side if you like. I always say well done for a crispy bottom. As Football season approaches, I'm looking forward to ordering carryout from here more often! read more

Great NY pizza, we live pretty far currently so hadn't made it over before since it is primarily takeout but we might be moving a bit closer soon (yay)! Good robust sauce, light and non-doughy crust, my only quibble is that I only like black olives and they gave me kalamata. I wish staff were trained on the difference so if someone requests black olives they can specify they don't have those. I had same issue at &pizza. So when I return I need to remember to not order olives. We ate the first slice onsite so we could fairly judge it hot, then drove home (currently over 30 minutes). read more

Hit the spot for that NY style craving. My son enjoyed it a lot. Thinness was spot on. Undercarriage was good with no flop on cheese side. Got an 18" pie, half pep half cheese, well done. Generous and yummy cup pepperoni with the pools of oil. Cheese was decent but a little on the salty side, sauce was ok-good, and dough favor was good enough. Sicilian pizza is in my blood, along with a lot of cholesterol. It's a weird niche pizza style that you just don't find much. It's kind of a precursor to Chicago style pizza, but with a dough that's a bit more like French bread. It's kind of like those lazy pizzas you made with a frozen baguette, some sauce, and toppings after school when you were 14, and jeebus, I'm showing off my 1980s Latchkey Kid status. CSNY specializes in Sicilian, and it has been on my "Try This" list since finding out about them. Their location is a little hard to spot, on the busy Pike, and tucked around a lot of other styles of restaurants. I mean, I knew where they were and drove by them, but made a quick U turn and got in there. They've got regular pizza on the menu, and I'm not entirely sure if that's what most people are ordering and reviewing, but I got the Sicilian regular and pepperoni (which is a party foul for authenticity, but also, it's pepperoni). The slices took a few minutes, and I also ordered a coke. They're cans, and like most places, they're expensive cans, but oh well. The two slices came out, and I realised I'd made a mistake. They're massive. They're the size they're supposed to be, big, thick, and bready below. Piping hot, I added a bit of red pepper flake and dug in. Just throwing it out there: CSNY is not a place to eat lunch. They've got a narrow ledge, and uncomfortable stools for waiting for your food. You *can* eat there, and I did, but I wouldn't recommend it. I ate most of one slice and left, partially spurred on by a woman who came in, ordered, and then began having a loud, animated conversation into her bluetooth... after a minute or so, I realised she didn't have a bluetooth and noped out. The pizza was deliciously greasy, especially the pepperoni. One of the weird things about Sicilian pizza, and that works with CSNY pizza (as well as their lack of eating room) -- I think it's actually better just a little bit cool. I finished the second slice after I got to my destination (in Germantown) and it went from a "this is not bad" to "YUM." I don't know why, but it's true for all Sicilian pizza: don't eat it COLD, but it's better if you let it cool a bit. read more

If you're looking for a dine-in experience, then my rating would drop to about three stars. There are only 5 cold metal hightop stools and a narrow counter to eat on. Cleanliness is not overy problematic but definitely not their strong suit. Service was efficient but more business-like than friendly. The place is fairly expensive too. I love living in DC but there is definitely a lack of good pizza places here. I took a chance and ordered from CS on DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised! It was cooked perfectly. Once somewhat settled here in Montgomery Cnty, I sought out and discovered CS New York Pizza. Without driving back to Connecticut, I found an outstanding, competitive (taste wise) replacement. My wife and I found our perfect taste. CS New York is delicious. Whole pies worth every penny. Our best surprise was sale by the slice. The service is great but interior seating is very limited and only one table outside. My only negative point. Don't miss this gem. read more

I can't believe it took me this long to find New York style pizza! Ordering online was super easy, the only confusing part was on the slice only options. I did speak to someone in person when picking up my pizza and they clarified that they do offer slice only options contrary to what the website says so I'm glad I asked! Stopped in a for a quick bite. Ordered two slices and had to wait for a fresh pie (about 8-10 mins). The pizza is amazing and has a great crust a crispy undercarriage. The cheese is perfect and the sauce has the right amount of tang, it isn't a sweet sauce. I'll definitely be back to order a whole pie. I have patronized this establishment prior to today and loved it because of the likeness of Jersey pizza (my home area). Today unfortunately the owner came into the restaurant from off of the street with his children and without washing his hands or putting gloves on, started making food orders. I thought at first he was just getting food for his children--still not a reason to not do proper hand hygiene... But as I watched, he continued to fill orders with the kitchen staff who were wearing gloves themselves. He eventually got to my pizza and used the pizza cutter to cut the slices and box it. When he came over to the register, I then told him that I would like a refund because he touched my food without gloves or hand washing. He immediately got defensive and angry with me and told me that if food temperature is over a certain amount that he is fine with not washing hands or putting on gloves etc. I told him that I'm a medical professional and that he could never tell me about germs etc. and that I'm sure the health department would not agree with him. He then decided to apologize after at first not seeming to want to refund my money. It's sad to think that he may be doing this often without any regard to the safety of his customers. It is never ok to not wash your hands and wear gloves when making food for the public. Hopefully the interaction today will teach him to do better, but I will never know because I will not be returning. read more

As always still my favorite pizza in the DMV. Pomodoro in Sterling gives them a run for their money, but completely different location--so it's not like it's competition. First time ordering in person rather than online since the beginning of the pandemic, was nice to be able to sit down and wait and smell the pizza. Looks like they are still doing a goodly business and fingers crossed that continues. Staff appeared to have a very good system down. You know what you can't do when you close at 9? Compete with big chains. This is every great pizza place in Montgomery county. This is why someone's options after 9pm are big chain borderline plastic or some place making a pizza from a Sysco truck delivery. This place makes an amazing Sicilian. But I'll never get to order it. I know it takes time to make and I won't keep your staff working late. "Well just order earlier." I was so excited to try this place. The pictures of the sicilian looked so good. When I opened the box, the crust was bigger than the pizza and it was burnt. I couldn't even eat the big pieces of crust because of how hard it was. The tomato sauce and cheese looked like it was placed on already cooked bread and then re cooked again. If you look at the picture I posted, you can even see it is brown underneath the cheese. Never have seen that before. It was quite honestly wack. The buffalo wings were good though but this is a pizza place... For $25, the pizza was not worth it. Would not recommend. I'll stick to visiting new york and getting prince street pizza read more

I ordered a regular 14" pizza with chicken for 18.22$. The pizza was average and wasn't good. The chicken topping amount on the pizza was laughably bad, barely any chicken was on the pizza. The pizza was also insanely overpriced, you can go to different spot and get better tasting pizza for nearly half the price (like paisanos for example). If you want NY style pizza, this is the place to get it in Rockville. Wide variety of toppings. Meatball topping is recommended (by me) as is the amazing Caesar Salad--- seriously get the salad with extra dressing. Not many places to sit and eat, so if you have a crowd you might want to get your order to go. There is high stool seating at a wall bar- could fit you and maybe 2-3 friends. Yum! read more

I ordered ahead so I did not get the usual "full experience" of ordering in person etc. The building itself is well kept and had good lighting, felt like somewhere I wanted to be. A bigger factor playing a part in this review: I do feel for the price of what I ordered it was not up to par. I grew up in northern NJ, an hour train ride outside of NYC. As a kid, I would stop by one of three pizza shops in town for a slice after school. CS Pizza tastes like the pizza of my childhood. I used to visit their other location with Neapolitan style pizza until it closed to make way for Wegmans. So it took me a while to try CS New York Pizza. If you order over the phone, they save your number and next time you call they'll know your name. I like to order a large had pepperoni had tomato and eat two pieces with my hubby and save the other half for another meal. I think that's probably the best value. They have a few tables outside now, but other than that it's a takeaway situation. I'll say that since I live on the other side of the county, they don't deliver, so when I pick up I usually will find a nearby park to eat in. I would say the pizza is about 2.5. It had good flavor, but the ingredients are so light/little the pizza tasted bland. We had a 14" pie with half sausage. The pizza is thin but not crispy. Just thin so once it's cold and reheated, it's almost like cardboard. I will say the quality changed because I had this pizza a couple of years ago and it was pretty good. In any case this time, on Friday night for takeout, the service was quick and the person at the register was courteous. They gave a paper plates and paper towels along with condiments: grated cheese, red pepper, and oregano. There was also another person there cleaning down the tables. We left a tip. read more

This was a good choice for pizza! I decided I needed pizza and was going to be in Rockville, so Yelpers led to me to CSNY. The guy who took my order was friendly and helpful, and guy who handed it to me was very nice. Right now, they are still doing contactless pickup outside. Loved the ginormous slices, the bendy, foldy crust, and the tasty pepperoni. I felt it needed a little more zing, so added some Penzey's frozen pizza seasoning (they are like 5 doors down from CSNY, and it happened to be on sale today!) Honestly, it felt like a NY slice. Definitely gonna be my go to place for pizza in the local area. It comes extremely close to a NY style pizza. Perfect thin crust, good sauce and quality cheese. I got my order through Uber eats so I'm not sure if it's typical but the pizza came cold. I had to reheat in my air fryer. I wouldn't hold it against them though because they don't have the proper transportation container for keeping food hot in Uber eats probably. I did however ask for utensils which were never delivered per the Uber app. As far as cost, it's pretty costly for pizza but you get what you pay for and that's a quality pizza. Besides, it's still cheaper than going out to eat at any restaurant if you don't buy pizza. read more
