Been ordering from here for approximately 6 years . Always a hit or miss but not too many options in Essex. Tonight was the last straw for me , I placed my order, 40 minutes later I received a call from a young lady inquiring if I wanted to add a tip to my order or would I like to add a tip once the driver arrived at my home. During the phone conversation I overheard a guy mention the male genitalia ( yea that word) , I was confused as to what she was asking at first but once I figured out what she was requesting I promptly canceled my order. I just received my order from Pizza sauce. I ordered scrambled eggs w. cheese, home fries, toast, and a house salad. I also requested for extra butter for my toast. I did not receive any butter at all. I opened up my other food and the home fries were all over the eggs as if the bag had been dropped or tipped over. To top it off the food was barely warm... I work right near this restaurant and order from there often. This isn't the first time this has happened either yet this is the first time I felt I really had to say something. Great American Food. Highly Under-rated. This place is a diamond in the rough. Their pizza is more enjoyable than all pizza shops along the route 40 corridor across Maryland. Everything is made by hand and from scratch. The salads are phenomenal. The portions remind me of the Cheesecake factory. So we have established the quality & quantity of the food, now what if I said that it cost half of what you expect to pay. I was seriously on the fence about a 3 or 4 star for this pizza joint. I've decided to go with the 4 because I keep going back to them to try more. Their regular pizza is a decent one, their crab dip pizza is fantastic. Now... they have some specialty pizzas that leave a bit to be desired, like the chicken bacon ranch. Sounds good, was friggin terrible. The cheeseburgers (on bun and in sub) are from fresh meat and taste as though they've been cooked over an open flame. Be advised, flame grilled always tastes dry to me, and I don't think you get a "medium rare" option. They make their own ranch, which reminds me of Denny's or like a Golden Corral or something. We were impressed with pizza sauce the first time we ordered from there. It's been all down hill moving forward from there. The last two times we have ordered stuffed shells and we have essentially been given an entire tin of mozzarella cheese. You have to dig through an entire tin of cheese just to find the 3 stuffed shells underneath with barely any sauce. I don't often complain about food but this is by far the worst pasta I've ever had. If I could rate 0 stars I would. This used to be my go-to place.- fast, good service and good food. Seems like these days you either get one or the other but never both, anymore. I called in a pizza at 4:15 and came to pick it up by 4:30 because they said 15 minutes. When I arrived the cashier proceeded to argue with me, telling me she "can look at the time I called", as if I can't do the same. Anyways, she said 10 more minutes, so I went to dunkin and got a coffee. It's now 4:45 and I have to be to work by 5.. i go in there asking again nicely for my pizza. She was so nasty & acted like my time wasn't as valuable as hers. I proceeded to tell her I don't want to argue, I just have to go to work and I can't be late or I'll lose my job. She said she doesn't care and there's nothing she can do. Save yourself the time, money, and effort of arguing with these people. Also all the cooks are always on their phones never doing their job. They have good food, but don't waste your time. 15 minutes turns into 30 which turns into 45, and then they tell you don't care and there's nothing they can do. Placed a delivery about 3 weeks ago for a pizza, the lady gets here and doesn't have $5 in change which is weird to not have such little change to give back to a customer . I had already tipped her or I would've just told her to keep it but I needed it for lunch the next day. So I asked her if I could stop in the shop the next day & get my change. She tells me that would be too confusing for the employees to understand why I'm picking up my change so she insisted she would return shortly with the $5. This was at 9:30. She came back at 11:30 pm with my change. Happy that she actually returned but i definitely wasn't expecting it to take 2 hours and that she would ring the hell out of my doorbell 11:30 pm on a Monday (i have a child who goes to bed for school well before 11) Fast forward to just a week ago i order a large pizza. The total comes to $13 with delivery fees. The pizza gets here the driver tells me it's $17 because it was snowing so they up the delivery fee. It would have been nice to know this before hand. Never was it mentioned when I placed the online order that I was going to be charged an additional fee when it arrived. So I ended up paying $17 for a large pizza that is $8 if I picked it up myself. I will only be picking up food from now on. Too many issues with delivery. read more

I would be tempted to give this place 4 stars, but the service was awful. I went in to pick up my order, and the person behind the counter was taking an order. Not a big deal, but the three other people up front were playing with their cell phones. I wasn't even acknowledged for five minutes. When they did get around to me, they were very blunt and quick to get rid of me. Not so much as a "hello". Just a quick "thanks", and slid the box towards me, and back to the cell phone. As far as the food goes, I really enjoy the crab dip pizza. Not my favorite, but tasty none the less. The crust is nice, not too doughy, and it doesn't taste like cardboard. The toppings and cheese are a pretty decent ratio. The cheesesteak is of the average, run of the mill variety you would expect at a pizza place. The bread was ok, not too soggy, not to thick, a good ratio of bread to meat. The meat was a little bland, could have used more seasoning. All in all, a good place to get delivery from, but not a good place for walk in service. read more

They give you the option to track your order and drives consistently are 15-20 minutes past the 10 minute window they give. They need to update the tracker. Pizza Sauce II on 8805 Pulaski Highway has the best pizza in the area. Their pizzas are also a bit larger than most. I usually go with the thin crust meat-lovers. The price is higher but you are getting a better quality pizza than you would at the franchised coupon clipping pizzeria's. I have been ordering from them for years never had any big issues. Their subs, calzones, wings, salads, and club sandwiches are all top notch. Food arrives on time most of the time, and their website has a app that lets you know when your order is coming. read more
