Great spot! We were in town for a softball tournament and my daughter and i decided to stop in and try this spot out. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer and it was seriously on point and tasted amazing. We also ordered a meat lovers pizza, it came fresh out the oven and was delicious. Since a two-star rating is "Could've been better," I selected this one. It is very difficult for me to give our beloved Pizza Shack anything less than a five-star rating. We have been regular customers for the last seven years. I offer this review as constructive criticism in hopes that Michael S. will adjust and improve. My only complaint in the last seven years is the current size of the "Large" Greek Salad. Used to be that you may see the size of the salad fluctuate a little depending upon who made the salad on any particular day, but they were always what I would consider a generous portion size and something one could make a meal out of, especially if you added the chicken. However, the last four or five times I've ordered the Large Greek Salad, the lettuce has not even passed the halfway mark on the salad bowl. I believe the current price is $9 dollars and with the current portion size, this is not a good value. I have decided to pass on the Greek Salad for the time being but wanted to leave this review in hopes of a correction in the kitchen. Everything thing else at Pizza Shack is great and all the staff are wonderful. I've never ordered the Small Greek Salad but can only imagine how disappointing that must be. This isn't something that will stop me from eating at Pizza Shack, I just won't order the Greek Salad. read more

I think with Covid they are doing great. In fact it was really good. I ordered a wedge salad and it came out so nice it looked like it came from a 5 star upscale restaurant. In addition to the salad I also got a pepperoni and chicken pizza and it was really good as well. Would give it a 1.8 first time back in over ten years and it has gone to shit. Had the gumbo and it was clearly not fresh. Had the spaghetti with meat sauce and it had no kick to it all. Have order numerous pizzas with lots of topping and it is always wet. I won't be coming back and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I love this restaurant, and I think the name is misleading. It is a nice full service restaurant, with freshly made genuine Italian food. Nothing fancy, except for the cupcakes, but that's another story! The service has always been gracious. I think you can tell if a restaurant is a good place to work by the attitudes of the waitstaff, and I suspect Pizza Shack is a happy place to work. The cupcakes!! Impeccably the best pizza I have ever tasted EVER, between the shack special pizza and the meat lovers pizza...we were grinning from ear to ear when those beauties came out to our table!!! Never ceases to amaze me when we order a new delicious item such as today with the "Special Garlic Bread" which was light and crisp with the perfect amount of cheesy goodness with an added perfect side sauce on the side for dipping!!!! I called them on the road to order a pizza on my way home. It took a bit of time to explain what I wanted on my supreme thin crust pizza. So the person I talked to on the phone was not good at taking instructions. I wanted to substitute Italian sausage for the pepperoni. I had to repeat it several times because she couldn't understand what I wanted. When she repeated my order, she kept getting it wrong on the read-back. Then I realized she got the order right, but just read it back incorrectly repeatedly. So, when I got there, it turned out they got it right. It was so good; highly recommend. read more

As many years as we've been customers of Pizza Shack, I've never written a review. But after seeing a couple of negative comments I feel compelled to say that we order here regularly (maybe too often!)! Not one bad meal in 25-plus years. When we have out-of-town guests this is where they want to eat. And Pizza Shack was a place we felt totally safe this past year because we know the owners' dedication to the community. Their specialties and pizza are great quality and always delicious. The desserts are TOO good. A wide variety of offerings for kids, as well. Wow! This was our first time here! The zucchini is amazing- hand cut strips lightly battered just amazing! We also tried the calamari- why i give them 5 stars is it just didn't taste right- they took it back and the manager came over to chat - they were so nice- I rarely say anything- and told them we are fine- the food is amazing and we are defintely fans! We had the seafood bake- shrimp crab meat and crawfish in it- sauce was perfect with tasty baked cheeses too! The servings are pretty big and filling so we split the dish- and we defintely did not leave hungry! We even saw a family of little kids come in- you can watch them hand toss pizza dough and one of the staff brought all the kiddos a plate of pizza dough to play with and make their own little pizzas ;) Highly recommend this place a the food- the friendliness and the atmosphere are all fabulous!! read more

They used to be pretty good but last Monday 7-27-2021 was terrible. It was extremely loud with screaming kids (not the restaurants fault) and pizzas that were well below Caesar"s quality so salty I didn't bother to take it home. Hardly any toppings on the Hawaiian and the Pizza Shack pizzas and the dough was mushy. Only thing that was good was the fried mushrooms. Do not, I repeat DO NOT order a veggie pizza!!!! Twice I had soggy pizza where toppings slides right off the dough including pizza sauce and toppings. As far as what i have eaten here the seafood bake is quite amazing. So they earn an extra star. read more

Wife and I stopped in for lunch, we both had the buffet. The pizza was good but the selection was always poor due to only 4 slots on the buffet, twice we found two of the same pizza out. I was very surprised there was no pasta on the buffet. We both ordered a dessert and shared with each other. The Italian cream cake was very dry and just not good. The cannoli should have been served with a small hammer to break it....it was soooo dense.and the filling was too. We enjoyed the fried pizza bread covered with cinnamon and powdered sugar on the buffet more than our $8 desserts. All the good reviews make me was to try other things here but I do not recommend the buffet or the desserts. read more

We had a wedge salad, Caesar salad, pasta sampler, cheese bread, and bread pudding. First of all, the portions are huge!!! The wedge salad was so yummy with homemade bleu cheese dressing. My husband scarfed his Caesar salad and said the dressing tasted homemade as well. My wedge salad was so big that I ended up eating a few bites of pasta. The manicotti was to die for and the homemade marinara is amazing. The lasagna was delish. And the Alfredo was super good. You know how many times you get that "tomato sauce heartburn"? Not with this. It's so fresh, we didn't have an issue with heartburn at all (and it was late when we ate). So now for the bread pudding!!! I love Louisiana style bread pudding. I love their garlic & spinach pizze and their bread pudding. All of their. pizzas are great but other items taste like pre-prepared, frozen items. When they tore down the old old building (yes two olds) and built the new one (quite a few years ago) I think they tried to upgrade their menu from pizzas and burger to "fancy" items. Finally got a pizza with enough tomato sauce on it that you could taste it. Awesome! Wife and I ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, basil, and onions. A little stingy with the basil but otherwise a great pizza. We also had the Shrimp Poppers for an appetizer. Wow. Perfectly cooked and the ingredients compliment each other well.
