Genuinely, some of the greatest pizza I've ever had. Absolutely some of the greatest breadsticks I've ever had. Their buffalo cheese sticks are also incredible. The service and the atmosphere in this place is second to none. I cannot tell you how much I love their pizza of the month offerings and their third Thursday pizza offering. That's not to say that their regular menu pizzas aren't exceptional, believe me, they are. Every pizza I've had here has been exceptional. I will have dreams about their Thanksgiving pizza (my true favorite pizza ever), and I cannot wait for it to reappear potentially this may and November. Took a hour to get a large pizza 2-topping pizza inside restaurant last Saturday. I kept trying to get the eye of the wait person to order. Eventually, I raised my voice when wait person was serving menus adjacent table 5 feet away. I waited at least 45 minutes after ordering. Called Kim over again. She said, "Well, you didn't order." What??? Isn't it her job to make sure the order gets in? She came back and said it will be another 10 - 20 minutes. I asked,"Twenty minutes? I have 2 people at my table done eating their pizza who are waiting for me to get my order so they could leave." No apologies. Like she didn't admit she didn't get my order in. I was ready to order 5 minutes after the other 2 people. I think she overlooked getting my order in. Who waits 65 minutes to get a pizza inside the restaurant?? I still tipped her but hesitated. Went here on a whim during the Niles Hunter Ice Festival! I got two pizzas to go, 1 pepperoni & 1 cheese. Both were absolutely delicious. Perfect sauce, and the cheese pull was on point! It is a little on the greasy side, but it didn't make any of my family left feeling "gross" like many greasy pizzas do. Staff was incredibly friendly too! I was so pleased I chose this place. They have an excellent gluten-free pizza crust. The ingredients were wonderful. The service was very friendly. The pizza was slower than I anticipated, but it was worth the wait. They have an interesting decor; funky signs and a retro style. It is located in a fun part of town. Parking is on the street, but I didn't have a problem finding a spot. It could have been a little cleaner, but not terrible. I would absolutely go back and highly recommend the food. read more

Went up to Nile's for some chocolate and saw this place across the street! Walked in and loved the high ceiling art covered walls vibe! Ordered a simple cheese pizza to go and let me tell you! Solid 8.2 out of ten! Could've used a little more sauce for my taste but the crust was light and flavorful and the sauce was tangy and sweet and the cheese was just sent from heaven! My husband and myself went on a Thursday for lunch and they had 10 inch pizza's for 7 dollars, so we each ordered one and we also ordered garlic bread with cheese and mozzarella sticks. I stopped in today to preorder some pizzas for a Christmas party and was told that all ordering is done online no more than 24 hours in advance. I don't have a problem with that but when I said that I had some additional questions all they kept saying was "all ordering is online" and wouldn't answer any of my questions. I haven't had Pizza Transit in years so when my husband offered to bring some home on his way back from work, I didn't make him ask twice. We got a half mushroom, half pepperoni and sausage pizza. I gobbled 2 of my mushroom pieces so fast my husband didn't even notice I ate them at first. I'm usually a slow eater so he was pretty surprised 2 pieces were gone in like 15 minutes. He enjoyed his slices but I think I liked mine better. I am looking forward to traveling down there sooner than later so I can sit in and eat again, hopefully after a movie. It's just something about their pizza that keepa me coming back . I think it's a combo between of their crust and cheese. I have been ordering mushroom pizza from them except the first time I came in, so I think I have found my regular order. If you dine in, you can get a free drink. We order from Pizza Transit at least twice a month. Tonight we had company and ordered pizza and breadsticks. Normally good pizza, but tonight, the bottom on the pizza was burnt. I called to let them know that the pizza tasted bad because of that, but they did not offer to rectify the problem. We ended up picking the toppings off, and just eating the breadsticks. Stopped in here for lunch during a cousin road trip. I wasn't sure if PT was where my cousins would want to stop but Betsy our waitress was accommodating with water while we waited to make a final decision. We landed on PT and are so glad we did! Betsy was the only waitress and she was attentive, quick, and made sure we enjoyed our lunch. Tried to order 2 pizzas tonight 7/27/24 at 7:00pm. The first time I called they put me on hold for 8 minutes, I hung up thinking they forgot about me, and I called back and was on hold over 10 minutes. So collectively I was on hold for 18 minutes, no one came back on the phone and acknowledged me, or said sorry we are busy,we haven't forgotten about you. Super disappointed because I have eaten in the restaurant the last 2 Saturdays and dropped $100 for my son and his friends to eat, but the time I just want to take it home, no one can take the call. We were driving through Niles from the beach out to edwardsburg so we couldn't be on hold forever. And by the time I could order online we were driving through Niles. We drove up to Niles from South Bend for the Hunter Ice Festival and stopped in Pizza Transit for a late lunch. They had been on our list to try for quite awhile simply based on all the great pizza pictures they post on their Facebook page. They offer some unique combinations as well as a pizza of the month. We started with the cheesy breadsticks with their homemade marinara sauce. We could have easily eaten the entire order and had to force ourselves to stop and wait for our pizza to arrive. The breadsticks were cheesy, garlicky and baked perfectly. The marinara sauce was perfectly balanced and obviously homemade. My husband and I split a two topping pizza since they were offering a special. The toppings were fresh and once again it was baked perfectly - we like our pizza a little well done and they did not disappoint. The crust was crisp and the cheese nicely browned. The crust was thicker than we typically like, but very flavorful. We can't wait to try their wheat crust. We recommend checking out this locally owned pizza place in downtown Niles. Although we did miss out on being able to have a beer with our pizza (no alcohol here). read more

My new favorite Pizza Parlor!!! I didn't know that BLT pizza was a thing until I stopped in here in July and that was their special. I truly enjoyed it! The atmosphere in here is wonderful with all of the fun movie and video game memorabilia as the pizza is delicious! They have an excellent crust and flavorful sauces to choose from! The appetizers are very good and the service is excellent! If you want pizza, and if you love pizza, you will love the award winning pizza at Pizza Transit! You can of course build your own pizza but don't be afraid to try at least a personal pan size of their special pizzas! I'm so glad that I did! This will be the ONLY place I get pizza when I'm here. I've gone here a few times, but really wanted to send over compliments after my most recent visit. First and foremost, the staff at this restaurant work hard. They are always on their feet rushing to get orders out as quickly as possible. On my most recent visit, the restaurant was PACKED and the staff really turned tables around and got orders out best they could. They even stopped to help clean up a couple of spills. Second, the food is on point. And for a pizza joint, their wings are especially good. Never had an issue with my order; never had to send anything back; never had to speak to anyone's manager. The pizza was great, ordered online, the delivery time was quite a bit longer than expected, don't know if there was a shortage of drivers or other issues... took about 1:45 mins from placement of order until delivery, and was about 6 blocks away so it wasn't a long drive.. My boyfriend and I love this place, we go there every month to try the pizza of the month and we have been very satisfied-- until tonight. our server messed up our order, and broight us the wrong pizza, no big deal, we understand, mistakes happen. When out pizza finally came out, it was sauce less as we expected but the aioli that came on top was very sparse and made for a dryer pizza. we asked for more of this aioli and we were told no, we couldn't have extra. We were very disappointed in the service and their decision not to allow us to "fix" the dry pizza. it seemed as if it was rushed due to the mistake of the server delivering the wrong pizza. There was no concern for the mistake and there certainly wasn't any attempt to make the situation right: after all this time, we really don't think we will be back. read more

I have been making an extra effort to try new restaurants lately- I was VERY disappointed today! There is little reason to go to downtown Niles, MI, but I drove out of my way to try Pizza Transit. I've heard it was good from a couple people, so I went there for dinner today. It's a large place in an old building with 20 foot ceilings. They have the most chaotic, mess of "decorations" tacked (as in "tacky") on every wall. Imagine a recycling truck filled with paper and bad art exploded inside and you have a good sense of the "décor". Also, they have a boom-box playing music that sounds as if one of the channels is not working. So you hear Gene Simmons of KISS singing acapella with only a bass drum accompaniment- irritating. I ordered the Meatball Sub ("sammich" for you regular readers) and I asked if it came with chips or anything. The waitress said " The sandwiches come with chips at lunch (and a lower price I'll wager) but not at dinner". She told me I could PAY EXTRA and get a bag of chips. I got the chips. I asked for extra sauce, since that is from where most of the flavor of a meatball sammich emanates, I likes me extra sauce. After 15 to 20 minutes my sammich was delivered. I opened it up and the meatballs were not even covered with sauce. It certainly was not even ADEQUATE sauce let alone EXTRA! I asked the waitress for some on the side and she cheerfully brought more sauce. I put some on the sammich, bit in, and the sauce she brought was cold, not refrigerator cold, but cooler than room temperature. The meatballs were small, little, dried-up looking things with NO flavor. They certainly TASTED like frozen, delivered from a vendor, factory-made meatballs. Maybe the owner can verify this. The sauce tasted straight out of a can, a CHEAP can! The mozzarella cheese was rubbery and flavorless. When the waitress returned a couple minutes later and asked "How is everything tasting?", I couldn't restrain my disdain, I said "It's nothing special." Normally, if the waitress is nice and trying her best I don't say anything negative to her, even concerning the taste of the food, over which she probably has no control. But I was SO DISAPOINTED with the food at Pizza Transit I had to tell the truth. The sammich was edible, as in fit for human consumption, but that's the best I can say about it. I didn't finish the whole sammich and left very unsatisfied with my dinner choice- I wish I would have taken the fast lane right past Pizza Transit. read more

I had a four cheese pizza with extra sauce. The tomato sauce had a nice flavor but wasn't out of this world. The cheese was the type that after it's been out of the oven for three minutes it starts to get hard and clumpy like plastic. I had to reheat each piece before I ate them otherwise the cheese was too thick and hard (and my to-go lunch place was only right across the street, not like it had been out of the oven for twenty minutes). I honestly couldn't tell the difference in flavor between their four cheese pizza and a regular mozzarella only pie. The crust was nicely cooked and enjoyable. I'll be back I'm sure because of proximity and I would like to try their Twisted Breadsticks. read more
