Solid 4 star old school pizza buffet! Salad bar, pizza and breadsticks, cinnamon sticks and self serve ice cream machine. Fountain drink selection is good, they have lemonade and Diet Dr Pepper options which aren't super common anymore! For the pizzas they had a pretty good selection - some basic thick crust, thin crust and then some more creative options like a pickle pizza. The establishment was just a bit unkempt but not awful, just could have used a good sweeping, staff were attentive to the buffet though & often made rounds to grab empty plates. Pizza world buffet is a no-no unless you're getting there right as they're sitting it out it's usually all dried out and hard and when you ask for fresh food, they're hateful. They roll their eyes and they're very rude. It's like you're pulling teeth so do not ask for fresh get there before it sit's out. read more

A "Taste of the old world"! First buffet I have visited since the whole Covid breakout. This place has beat it and isn't scared! Full buffet with salad bar just like the old days...and it didn't disappoint! Great selection of pizza, with fresh salad bar ingredients. Pretty good weekday lunch crowd with masks optional. Place was overall clean with tables spread out. We were even able to use real silverware delivered by the friendly front desk worker (blade facing away from me of course)! I don't like to give poor reviews because I think it's important to support local business, but I can't let this one go. Please be careful placing an order online. I ordered a pizza, went in to pick it up and they handed me a sandwich. I told them it was not what I ordered and they insisted that it was. Didn't even offer to fix the problem. I walked out and immediately hit the back button on my browser just to verify and saw that I indeed clicked on the picture of a pizza! I told them their website may have a flaw and they just said yeah, but still no offer to make it right. I just feel like that is bad business. Well, it seems sad that I'm the first to give this place a review that's more than 2 stars. I've always loved going to the one near me (in Glen Carbon), but unfortunately the place closed a while back. So now I gotta go to the 'other G.C.' to get my Pizza World on. I always go during the lunch buffet, and I've never really had any problems. You gotta admire their diversity in toppings, especially what they put on the buffet! Worst place to place order. They lie over charged. And it was terrible. Will never order again doubled the total cost. The manager was a total bitch hung up in me. I decided to go here for my birthday dinner because I knew my grandkids would love pizza. The food was good and the workers was amazing.

We arrived at Pizza World tired and hot after a long day of moving and driving from NC. We were greeted with a smile and recommendations. Then they provided a coupon and a military discount. We were SO appreciative. The pizzas were REALLY good!!! If we lived in the area, we would be back again and again. I'd felt like ordering a spinach salad from Pizza World tonight. (Spinach, a boiled egg, parmesan cheese, mushrooms, bacon with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing) I'd received a Huge bed of spinach, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, a few mushrooms, a scrambled egg fried very hard and big chunks of fried burned bacon fat underneath my spinach. I was greeted with amazing customer service but the pizza was bland and it felt like I was biting into cardboard. The salad bar was amazing though. The whole restaurant has a weird smell that's overpowering and unpleasant. It might've just been the day that I went though. Overall from my experience I would not recommend this place. read more

What happened to this place? I used to eat here frequently 10 years ago before I moved out of town. Loved the BBQ chicken pizza. Now the restaurant has slipped considerably, and is in need of some TLC. the pizza is less than impressive and huge selection on the buffet was meager. I suspect that was due in part to the fact that no one was coming in for lunch, which I found very odd for the time of day, this place should have been rockin. I use to go to this chain years ago but had a bad experience with their buffet. I experienced an even worse situation dealing with the management. Needless to say they permanently lost my business. On my last visit, the only pizza on tne buffet had been sitting there for some time, the salad bar wasn't stocked and they never had any ice.
