This is my 3rd time visiting the fabulous Italian Restaurant. They are wonderfully decorated. Beautiful artwork in every area. Wine bottles decorated this amazing place. However there was nothing better than the beautiful art work to come. The food presentation was excellent. The garlic cheesebread is to die for. The Cajun chicken pasta was delicious. The salad was good Customer service was amazing. I know there were other customers but our server made us feel like we were the only customers in the place. Before I could think of asking for something she was bringing it. She kept our drinks filled. She asked if we wanted parmesean cheese on our salads and pasta. These put the cheese on our food. We were going to ask for some to go boxes. But she asked us first. Then she said she would take our food and box it for us. She labeled each one and neatly wrapped it in clear plastic. Most restaurants don't do that anymore. Very classy! There is plenty if parking in this strip mall. read more

Haven't been here in few years due to an incident in the past. Tried the family meal with salad and pasta for 45.00 The plus side, there is a LOT of food for the money. You could easily feed a family of 5. Great value! The not so good- Fettucine Alfredo, noodles were mushy, sauce was super hot after 15 minutes, sauce was broken and grainy, assuming they microwaved it right before sent out due to the sauce was broken and the lumpy, grainy texture was very off putting. Spaghetti was just ok, not enough sauce, but thats just my preference. Salad was good, a sweet vinegar and oil Italian. read more

The food is always less than described! Disgustingly so! I've been so disappointed the last 3 times we were there we won't go back! Drinks are never garnished, just boose thrown together! Monday is, Martini's Monday. You can get a gin or vodka martini for $7. The only catch is, you have to have it made with their rail brand. I'm a martini snob, so I don't mind paying an additional $4 to get my Tito's vodka. However, if you go during Happy Hour, you can still save on appetizers and a variety of selected entrees. My go to is, a 4 piece Toasted Ravioli and a small House Salad. Their house salad is one of the absolute best, Italian salads around. The couple next to me at the bar, ordered a large and shared it. Then they shared an order of Spaghetti with two huge meatballs. How they ate it all is beyond me. The service at Bella Milano, is always attentive. I like how chatty the bartenders are. They include everyone in the conversation, which breaks the ice and makes for a relaxing and comfortable experience at the bar. If you're on the east side of the river, no need to drive over to The Hill in St Louis. You can dine at, Bella Milano and enjoy an delicious Italian meal. read more

In town for the Sectionals Golf Tournament, and Bella Milano was located right across from our hotel. We decided to check it out with the team. Group of 6 with a reservation. Seated immediately and our waiter was quick to bring out drinks, bread, and oil. We started off with toasted ravioli and cheese sticks. Both were very good. Most of the table ordered fettuccine with grilled chicken as their entree. One person ordered ravioli, and the other ordered spaghetti. The food came out quickly, was hot, and everything had a good flavor to it. We skipped dessert, but will have to give it a try on the next visit for sure. read more

This is a pretty straightforward Midwest "nice" restaurant. They have more than iceberg lettuce and some decent meals. Our server was nice and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was ok. As a vegetarian, I do appreciate that they had a dish without meat. Bella Milano is a very popular establishment in Edwardsville, especially for people that have grown up here. They serve a good, but not great meal and they have a friendly staff. It's better than most chains and a good place to go for large party meals. If you're a big bourbon snob (like me) you will be impressed with their bourbon selection. Probably the best selection of bourbon in town. Overall, they serve decent food but in my opinion there are better options in Edwardsville for more authentic Italian food. read more

I recently visited this location apart from my usual in O Fallon. The food was amazing but the service, awful. The bartender in a pink shirt on Monday July 27th in the later shift was constantly glaring at us in rage. We asked for more bread twice, the first time she stood there for a second and said "okay..." and walked away. I then asked for something on the side when she was walking away and she put on the most over exaggerate, disrespectful smile I've ever seen. When she walked away, we saw her drop it immediately and have a fit with her arms. The second time, she stood there for longer and just took the tray to get more bread. I cannot fathom the amount of money I spent here, and management should rethink their hiring choices! read more

Very very good Italian. The lasagna was outstanding..,better than Mom makes! The bread with dipping oil was a nice touch with their house Italian salad. Atmosphere was comfy, quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend trying out...you will not be disappointed. read more

Called about 355pm to make a reservation for 530pm for the same day. The guy said okay for 530pm and even sent me a confirmation. Arrived about 520pm no such reservation (we've had problems with call ahead not working), the hostess couldn't find our reservation but said she would seat us. Our waitress was helpful and got our adult beverages and our order of calamari out quickly.. first impression of the calamari good red sauce and crust and then you get what chews like a rubber band. The rest of it wasn't any better. The entrees were ok. I had the 7ounce steak that came on a huge plate all by itself, looked lost on that big plate,bare. It wasn't too loud, you could carry a conversation without yelling. Figured out why our reservation was screwed up. Please explain how - on a Friday night, at 6:30pm, with less than 10 tables occupied, can this Italian restaurant be OUT of baked potatoes?? Our combo of medallions & shrimp was cold as was the side of fettuccini. The calamari was over cooked and like chewing rubber bands. This was a horrible experience for all our meals as this was a birthday celebration with 5 couples dining. I can see just WHY Bella Milano was practically empty of customers - we didn't get the memo that it had went downhill. Truly unexpected lousy meal - we have always enjoyed eating here - Definitely not tonight. Doubt we ever return. Only plus side was the waitress - she was great. We've been to Bella Milano a few times and the food and service is consistently good. We went last night for my husband's birthday and they were busy for a Thursday night. I would encourage reservations if you go on a weekend. They had a special items menu for May and we did end up getting their new strawberry basil mules which were sweet and delicious! The interior has low lighting and is perfect for date night. My tortellini was delicious and my husband enjoyed his Boursin filet. We also had garlic cheese bread which was delicious with very thick pieces of bread. They do give you complementary bread with oil, spices, and cheese which I also enjoy, but my husband says their garlic cheese bread is their best appetizer so we had to get it for his birthday of course. The manager even swung by our table and made sure we were happy. We will definitely be back - I really enjoy their patio, especially in nicer weather. read more

Just a notch above the more rustic restaurants, this beautiful little spot holds a lot of wonderful memories for me, from my first date in high school, to a bachelor party dinner many years later with a great friend of mine. Ww visited the Edwardsville location last Saturday. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the waitress was great too but the pizza was terrible. It was dry and barely warm which was very disappointing. We will never order the pizza again because this isn't the first time that we have been dishearten by the pizza that we ordered. The salad is always great and entrees are usually good too. read more

We did a pre-Christmas lunch on Saturday and it was wonderful! I had Lasagne Milano which was a little different in appearance with lots of sauce and cheese. It was delicious, and the salad accompanying it was excellent. My partner had Chicken Milano and it was excellent as well! She cleaned the plate. There was fresh warm bread with an Olive oil, garlic and shredded Parmesan cheese dipping sauce - outstanding! Our server was excellent and provided outstanding service without being intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we were seated right away with our reservation. This was my second experience at the Edwardsville location and I'm certainly coming back again! Their salads and Italian dishes are very good, but I had a hand tossed pizza and it was the worst I've ever had! It was a thick, round piece of cheese on a crust, I couldn't taste ANY sauce, or see any sauce, the toppings were pitiful. Absolutely terrible! Stay away from that item on their menu. I saw the owners reply, but I hate to send anything back, but this has taught me if you really get something as bad as I got at Bella Milano, I will send it back. Apparently from another review they aren't very good! I've had excellent Brick Oven Pizza's, and love them, but yours was pretty bad. We go there when in Edwardsville, but no longer. Arrived in town late and Bella Milano was a short drive from our hotel. We had the Creamy Garlic Angel Hair with Shrimp and a large BBQ chicken pizza. Two of our party split the pasta dish and enjoyed it very much. Me and the other person in our party split the BBQ chicken pizza. The pizza was one of the best of this kind that I've had, especially the chicken used with the other toppings. Very thin crust, which allowed me to enjoy more than I usually can. Stopped in for a quick dinner with my daughter last week. She just turned 21 and is working her way through all the drink menus. Tonight she ordered a margarita. She only took one sip and clearly did not like it. Our gracious waiter Devin the rockstar (who waited on a 17 top and kept us happy simultaneously) told the manager. The manager quickly appeared, apologized, grabbed the check, and had that nasty 'ol tequila removed from our check lickity split!! Excellent service from all! We also ordered pasta con broccoli with cheese ravioli, bruschetta, and a large house salad with (crispy) salmon. Food is always good here and the service is superb! You can never go wrong with martini Mondays! The ambience is warm and inviting. I love it here. Added additions to Bella is the parking can be a bit overwhelming however, there's plenty of lighting in the parking lot. If you are vegetarian there are plenty of options to choose form on the menu. I normally order a pasta dish without the meat (if meat is in the dish) or a veggie pizza with a side salad because you know you got to have food on the belly to soak of the martinis, LOL! I would definitely recommend this place for a girls night out or a dare night! read more

Tried to use wait list, it said no wait come on in. My husband and I went in exspected to be seated. We were told that there was an hour wait and that their wait list did not work. They take reservations instead of using wait list. Had we known this we wouldn't have bothered going there. The manager would make no exceptions. They need to take down the wait list. Bella Milano is a decent option for a classier meal near Edwardsville. The service is very good but the food does not meet the demands made by the high prices. The person went through the items and assured us everything was there. When we got home, we found the garlic cheese bread was missing, although charged for. We called and they were professional, friendly, very apologetic and said they would credit us. The house salad was pretty tasty, although at $15 it seemed a steep price. The toasted ravioli was pretty good. They were large puffs. The sauce was solid but not complex. Spaghetti and meatballs were pretty good. The lasagna was heavy on béchamel and meat. There was only provel cheese. There was minimal pasta, no mozzarella or ricotta, and very little red sauce. I did not care for the flavor profile at all and after a few bites threw it away. read more

Came here to have lunch after my sister's graduation at SIUE. They had a mini parking lot outside which was great. The hostess and waitresses were all very friendly and I loved how our table was ready when we got there for our reservation. We ordered a few appetizers and everyone ordered their own entre. We ordered the fried calamari, 2 ordered of stuffed mushrooms and an order of artichoke dip. If you love appetizers, definitely order the artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms, those were amazing! The fried calamari was a little dry and maybe a bit overcooked. For our entre's, soup and salads came with certain ones, so that was pretty good deal. We ordered a pizza, a few pastas and salmon. I had to say I was quite disappointed in my seafood ravioli. It looked so delicious, but it was way too salty. I really wanted to enjoy it, unfortunately, I couldn't. She was Friendly and has wonderful customer service skills. A lot of places do not have Brandy Alexandras, (my favorite) but tonight we struck gold. We went to Bella Milano during the week for their lunch special. I came with my grandparents and they were very nice about letting us pick a table by the door since my grandfather doesn't walk very well. What I ordered: I got the house salad and confetti mango white fish. The flavor was great and I love how they brought out bread. I feel like a lot of places don't do that for lunch. I love Bella Milano's, but why did I give it three stars? .....The restrooms were comparable to a rest stop on the side of the road. My shoes stuck to the floor in the stalls. Love this restaurant, but come on. They advertise themselves as a fine dining establishment, but the restrooms do not match the type of place they claim to be. read more
