    Tomato basil soup

Felt pampered in this old school Italian restaurant. Service attentive and helpful. Lunch prices so reasonable. Added soup with my meal which was a delicious tomato basil. April specials just started. Tried the cranberry chicken. Fantastic choice! Nice selection of fish, chicken, pastas, pizza and salads. Many gf choices! Full bar service.

Monday is, Martini's Monday. You can get a gin or vodka martini for $7. The only catch is, you have to have it made with their rail brand. I'm a martini snob, so I don't mind paying an additional $4 to get my Tito's vodka. However, if you go during Happy Hour, you can still save on appetizers and a variety of selected entrees. My go to is, a 4 piece Toasted Ravioli and a small House Salad. Their house salad is one of the absolute best, Italian salads around. The couple next to me at the bar, ordered a large and shared it. Then they shared an order of Spaghetti with two huge meatballs. How they ate it all is beyond me. The service at Bella Milano, is always attentive. I like how chatty the bartenders are. They include everyone in the conversation, which breaks the ice and makes for a relaxing and comfortable experience at the bar. If you're on the east side of the river, no need to drive over to The Hill in St Louis. You can dine at, Bella Milano and enjoy an delicious Italian meal.

In town for the Sectionals Golf Tournament, and Bella Milano was located right across from our hotel. We decided to check it out with the team. Group of 6 with a reservation. Seated immediately and our waiter was quick to bring out drinks, bread, and oil. We started off with toasted ravioli and cheese sticks. Both were very good. Most of the table ordered fettuccine with grilled chicken as their entree. One person ordered ravioli, and the other ordered spaghetti. The food came out quickly, was hot, and everything had a good flavor to it. We skipped dessert, but will have to give it a try on the next visit for sure.

Bella Milano is a very popular establishment in Edwardsville, especially for people that have grown up here. They serve a good, but not great meal and they have a friendly staff. It's better than most chains and a good place to go for large party meals. If you're a big bourbon snob (like me) you will be impressed with their bourbon selection. Probably the best selection of bourbon in town. Overall, they serve decent food but in my opinion there are better options in Edwardsville for more authentic Italian food.

Very very good Italian. The lasagna was outstanding..,better than Mom makes! The bread with dipping oil was a nice touch with their house Italian salad. Atmosphere was comfy, quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend trying out...you will not be disappointed.

We've been to Bella Milano a few times and the food and service is consistently good. We went last night for my husband's birthday and they were busy for a Thursday night. I would encourage reservations if you go on a weekend. They had a special items menu for May and we did end up getting their new strawberry basil mules which were sweet and delicious! The interior has low lighting and is perfect for date night. My tortellini was delicious and my husband enjoyed his Boursin filet. We also had garlic cheese bread which was delicious with very thick pieces of bread. They do give you complementary bread with oil, spices, and cheese which I also enjoy, but my husband says their garlic cheese bread is their best appetizer so we had to get it for his birthday of course. The manager even swung by our table and made sure we were happy. We will definitely be back - I really enjoy their patio, especially in nicer weather.

A very quaint little place that's worth every penny! Please visit if you're in the southern Illinois area!

I also loved the atmosphere, upscale food without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It felt like the kind of place you could walk into dressed casually and still enjoy an amazing dining experience. From the moment we sat down, our waitress was fantastic. Since it was our first time visiting, we were welcomed with complimentary deviled eggs, which were absolutely delicious. And the cocktails? Perfectly crafted and easily some of the best we've had in a while. We're already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for helping make our anniversary feel so special!

It's one of a very few places in the area that isn't a chain, isn't just burgers and pizza, and also isn't pretentious or overpriced. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. We've been there at least ten times and only once was the service slow. It was an anomaly because they're usually really on top of things. Ambiance is a friendly, but upscaled downtown cafe/bar place that is perfect for taking out-of-towners or a fun brunch with the ladies. (They have a separate brunch menu on Saturdays!) I don't drink, so I can't comment on their drink selections. I'm taking away a star because the parking situation is annoying, especially during construction. There is street parking or a huge parking lot in the back. However, the back parking lot is a terrible hodgepodge of concrete and asphalt and a gazillion potholes and no super clear direction on how to get to the restaurant. Some signage would go a long way in helping customers to not only find parking, but once parked, to them navigate back to the little crevice where the back door is located. The back porch is located behind a larger portion of the structure and you can't see it from the parking lot. Additionally, if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues, it's next-to-impossible to park near enough to the door to make a difference. The handicapped parking spots are 40 yards away from the back door. All that said, we will def go back because there's nothing else like it in the area.

When we pulled up the "OPEN" light was off (1pm) & no one was inside so we called, no answer. I decided to go ahead and try the door, and they indeed were open. Ordering: The menu is up really high and off to the left of the order counter, not behind the order counter where a menu would typically be. Theres pamphlets at the counter I assumed were menus...but nope! There was also a tray w cookies and labels but a lot of the cookies were missing the labels. When I asked what one of them was the staff did point to the menu which was helpful. Apparently you can make the cookies into ice cream sandwiches which we didn't realize until after we had ordered and saw it mentioned here on Yelp. There may be an option to ice cookies too based on menu but - that wasn't clear. Price: we did an 8 pack of regular cookies and a 4 pack of deluxe cookies, the total was $30ish. Taste: Some good (especially the snickerdoodle), some pretty grainy tasting. Cleanliness: pretty clean! Packing was interesting, the 4 deluxe cookies crammed into a small box and the 8 regular in a huge box. Overall, we probably won't be back for the price, overall taste / quality & customer experience, but did enjoy the Snickerdoodles!

When I saw they had hot honey and pepperoni paired together on a 8" pizza, I instantly knew that was one of my choices. The fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheeses paired with the hot honey and pepperoni exploded with flavor. My only disappointment was the inner crust. The outer rim crust was very crispy, but the inner was soft and limp due to the excessive grease from the flavorful pepperoni. I guess that is something I just need to deal with for a tasty lunch pizza. My other choice was, the Apple Gorgonzola Salad. Wow. Double Wow! This has to be the best salad I have ever had. It was a delightful mix of, spinach, granny smith apple, gorgonzola, sun-dried cranberries, candied pecans, all topped with a delicious maple cider vinaigrette. I will be back for the large version and a glass of Pino Grigio as a dinner. As my usual, I sat at the bar. My adult beverage of choice, was a Peel Summer Lager. I may be going back to fill my growler, for the upcoming holiday weekend. The restaurant has a contemporary feel, but the acoustics make it a loud environment. I didn't mind the laughter and loud conversations, it was the yelling and crying toddlers that made me cringe. Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed watching the bartenders use their mixologist skills preparing all the cocktails. It pleased me to see they offer "hooks under the bar". That's a small detail that makes me smile.

I visited Applebee's in Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, Illinois, and unfortunately the experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. My meal was going well until a party was seated behind us and lowered the window shade completely, which blocked the natural light at our table. I politely asked if the shade could be kept halfway down instead of all the way. One of the individuals, a male, said the sun was in his face, which I acknowledged, but I still suggested a reasonable compromise. Instead of responding respectfully, he called me out of my name and I retorted with a similar response. At that point, I told him that if the sun was that much of a problem, they could consider moving to another table. The waitress finally stepped in and suggested the party move. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of management involvement. No one came over to check on the situation or ask if everything was okay. Later, the manager came through and lowered all of the shades, stating the sun was bothering someone. The way it was handled felt dismissive and disrespectful, especially after one of their guests had already spoken to us in such an inappropriate way. A brief check-in from management or an effort to address the behavior would have gone a long way toward maintaining a respectful dining environment. Instead, it felt like the rude behavior from another guest was indirectly validated. I typically don't leave negative reviews because I understand that restaurants are busy environments and situations can happen. However, this was a situation where a simple moment of management awareness and professionalism could have prevented the experience from escalating. It may also be worth additional training for management on how to handle guest conflicts in a neutral way that does not appear biased, particularly toward the party that experienced the disrespectful behavior. What started as a perfectly fine meal ultimately turned into a very negative and uncomfortable experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future guests at Applebee's in Edwardsville/Glen Carbon have a better experience.

I told my server I can't eat it if there is blood on the plate. Guess what? It was bad. Really bad & bloody. Cooked more like medium. The floor manager stopped at the table and asked how is everything? I showed her my steak, and she agreed. So of course I sent it back. (That's always scary) The rest of my table is done eating and finally my steak is back. (15-20 minutes) She brings my steak and as soon as she put it front of me I could smell the burnt offering. I'm not joking. I looked at her and said, look at this, that's really done. I tapped on my steak like I was knocking on the door. I asked her to do it too, but she would not. I told her to take it back and would gladly pay for what I did eat. (salad and baked potato) . She said she would bring a new one but by then my entire dinner party was finished eating. So I told her no. (Did she really expect me to wait another 15-20 minutes? I think she did !) To me when you go out with another couple, everyone should eat at the same time. I think it's rude to eat after everyone else is finished. Afterall isn't that why people go out to dinner together is to eat dinner at the same time? Or is it my old fashioned self ? So anyway she comped what I had eaten. Now then! Since when is well raw or burnt? Do their cooks just set it on the fire and let it go to whatever finished product and then just serve it anyway. Obviously we are dealing with minimum wage people and not real cooks. But come on. I asked specifically to have it cooked the way I wanted. Afterall he did ask everyone of us "How do you want that cooked?" Why ask if the cook is just going to do whatever? The floor manager wasn't very happy, but I think it was me she wasn't very happy with. All we or any of us want is a product that equals the cost. We don't want your Idea of what we should eat. If you can't follow directions and warnings from a customer then shut the doors. I'm really not being picky because I can't eat bloody meat. Ps. The drinks were cold.
