Wow! Is this ever a hidden gem! My wife and I were told to go here a few months ago and have ordered several times since! The pizza rocks, we are a big fan of the buffalo chicken pizza and the bread sticks(apparently the old crazy bread recipe from little caesars) this place is reasonably priced and have always had a good experience with the owners! Great pizza. The Hawaiian was a combination of what I like AND what my wife liked: pineapple, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, and green peppers. The crust was nice and crispy, too. Right across the street from our hotel, so we could take a hot pizza home. read more

Another hidden Chanhassen gem! But pizza! They have a a lunch pizza buffet! WHAAAAT?! I haven't taken anything to go here, but have enjoyed each pizza in the buffet. I would say the price is pretty equivalent to the value you get. If you want a really casual lunch, this is the place to be. The service is friendly, but you don't really interact with them besides getting your drink and paying before entering the buffet. This is definitely the place for a quick, casual lunch. read more

Still a good place, still a good value, two things I'd add in the 12 or so years since my original review, like everything else in the food industry world, the quality did seem to dip.. although not to the degree of other places. It's just not quite as nice as I remember it. I don't know if it's new owners, recipe, but at some point in the last decade, it went from a 9/10 Pizza to more like a 7.9/10 Also - The pizza, pretty good. The pasta? Nope. taste is fine at best, school lunch-ish. Horribly overcooked, they've never heard the words "Al dente" in their lives. Spaghetti-o consistency, and I tried it a second time since mistakes happen, even more overcooked and CUT! on top of it. Seriously, who cuts spaghetti with a knife? Lastly - Not sure they understand value. about $0.90 an inch for a small.. and then the medium and large are $1 per inch more. Six 10" pizzas cost less than five 12" pizzas. Maybe work that one out, Pizzaioli. We're doing you a favor by ordering more, not the other way around. At least structure the same pricing to reflect that so I don't feel I'm losing value by ordering a bigger pie. read more

Pizzaioli is that hole in the wall pizza joint you'd never think you'd find in a small town like Chanhassen. Their pizza has been consistently good for the decade that I've lived here, a given when ordering pizza for the fam or friends. The lunch Buffett has always been optimal as well, but has its downsides. With most Buffett's, food gets cold quick - and personally I'm not a fan of pizza under a heater lamp. Hope you can find a way to fix this, when you do I'll make that four star into a five! read more

We just moved to the area and wanted an easy meal in the new place so went to google for a nearby pizza spot that wasn't a chain. This one looked closest so we gave it a go -- YUM. We ordered 1 plain pepperoni and one BBQ chicken without onions. Both were awesome. I love this type of crust where it's crispy and chewy.... so good. We will be back lots. This is the best pizza in Minnesota hands down, I always ask for the ranch sauce instead of the red sauce. Now the ranch sauce may sound intense but it is quite the run for your tastebuds. Have had some of the greatest talks over a slice of Pizzaioli pizza. Every time I come back home to visit I have to come by and visit my favorite pizzeria. Honestly this place is legendary, been eating it since my friend Owens 3rd grade pizza party, he put me on that day. I hope with this review to put you, reader, on as well. read more

My family and I came here to try a new pizza place. It was OK, the place used to be a Little Ceasers franchise back in the day and the owner made it his own. While I was there I was listening to these two guys talk about the mass shooting in Las Vegas the night before. "These liberals who want to ban guns is just stupid. What do they want to ban booze so people don't drink an drive? Ban cars so nobody runs into a crowd with a car? It makes no sense that crazy guy could have done what he did with a car or a knife." I've realized that there's a majority of our population who are just stupid. So a guy can kill 50 people with a knife from across the street 300 feet in the air?? This is one of the better pizza places in Chanhassen. We do seem to have a lot of them too. They do deliver now so that is a good plus. (haha as opposed to a bad plus?) Pizzaioli is a great spot for solid Pizza. Always fresh, always hot. We usually pick our pizza up or dine in for lunch... The very casual lunch buffet is excellent at around $7. It's all you can eat salad and pizza which includes a drink. Although I'm partial to the margherita pizza, they usually have 4 or 5 different pizzas out at once. The ambience isn't anything too amazing, but works great for lunch. read more

Absolutely awesome pizza. Best in Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie area. The only thing that prevented them from getting a perfect 5 was that they seem to have one phone line. I called and I get a voicemail message saying they are busy and to call back. WTF? Why can't I be on hold until they have time to answer. Came here with a group of 25 to celebrate the end of my daughter's basketball season. We called earlier in the week confirming the number and preordered the food so they could have it ready at 6:30. We also arranged to have a sectioned off set of tables so our group could sit together. When we arrived there were no tables together. Instead of apologizing and helping us put them together we were left to do it ourselves. Our food finally came out at about 6:45 and I will say the food was good. I had gotten there early and ordered spaghetti noodles for my son who doesn't eat pizza. I ordered at 6:20. I actually had to go back to the text message I get when my credit card is charged to verify what time I ordered after we had waited over 40 minutes because I couldn't believe how long it was taking. The server at the counter did not seem to care. He never apologized and just said they were very busy and they cook all of these kind of items together at once so it would be a bit more. I told him I understand we were a large group but we called and ordered ahead so I'm shocked it takes 40 minutes to make some spaghetti noodles. Again no apology. I actually feel bad for this guy. I'm sure he was just the messenger of a bad night. Whomever is the owner here should evaluate their staffing levels because they were clearly understaffed. They had one person cooking all the food and the one server at the counter. I'm guessing the owner does not care much about the success of this business based on the physical shape of the restaurant. Maybe order take out here but expect it to take a long time. We ended up leaving without the noodles because my son was starving. We won't be back and neither will any of our group based on the comments I heard tonight. read more

Pizzaioli has been a favorite of our family's for years. My 80 yr-old parents ate there this week and had a terrible experience. My mom's lasagna still had ice crystals in the center. She didn't return it, just planned to leave the cold portion and reheat it at home for dinner. She politely informed a staff member and suggested they needed to adjust their heating time. He apologized. As my parents were preparing to leave, another staff person -- possibly a delivery guy -- told my parents that "she was a complaining b*tch". I'm stunned. You've lost a family of regular customers. No employee has the right to say something that inappropriate-- and wrong -- to a customer. read more

Came across this place while searching for Pizza in the area, very easy to find and well marked. When you first walk in your greeted by the order counter and gelato bar, both very clean. After placing our order of wings and pizza we grabbed a table off to the left, lots of ample seating and clean. It didn't take long and we were enjoying our wings. We ordered the hot & spicy, they smelled a lot more spicy than they actually were, they were good, nothing special. A short while later our traditional crust pepperoni pizza came, again good, nothing special. I probably wouldn't eat here again only because there are many other pizza places I need to try. The sauce had nice seasoning, each slice was very cheesey, and the crust was a nice thickness but nothing about it really stood out. The service was very good. read more

Pleasantly surprised! Walking in I thought I was in a Kitchen Nightmares audition tape. Dated and mismatched dining room, old tile, mismatched counters, and an employee fighting with her boss. Looking past first impressions, I was surprised to see such a cheerful man greet us at the counter. He said hello and offered each of us our own menu. Fifteen minutes later (as promised) we had hot food and were headed back to the hotel. Opening the to-go bag I was very pleased with the quality of takeout containers, food presentation, and taste. Pizza is good and the buffett is worth the price but plan on spending most of your lunch hour cause they aren't fast getting out the pizzas and if you like basic things, pepperoni, sausage, cheese, you might be disappointed cause they seem to like to push more of their exotic pizzas. So, if you like lots of variety, you'll be fine. On the regular menu the apps are over priced for what you get and sandwiches are subpar. I've had a few of them and they were nothing exciting. We like to eat at the dining area in Pizzaioli. It seems that they do a lot of take out and delivery so when we visit in the evening, it is generally easy to get a seat. It is primarily self service and in several years, we have only had one pizza that did not turn out as expected and the manager/(owner?) made us another on the house. Worst customer service ever! Also the pizza wasn't much better! They have a customer rewards program that my wife and I signed up for and they give you a free 1 topping pizza. Well on my b day in June we got a free pepperoni pizza. The pizza didn't have much taste and the pepperoni on top was over cooked to the point it was all brown and curled up. The restaurant itself has horrible decor and every Parmesan cheese shaker is disgustingly dirty. We thought we would try it again for my wife's b day and give it one last chance to impress us since it's close to our house. We had the free 1 topping pizza and we were going to order more food but when the cashier asked for the manager or owner to help the owner said he could only do $5 off. He said that the system wouldn't give it to us. He was rude and wouldn't give us the free pizza. All he said was I gave you your other free pizza. The place wouldn't honor their own coupons. I walked out. I would never go back again and advise people to not waste their money there. Horible pizza place. Also they had half of their fountain drinks out of order. read more
