The best pizza in Marin. I've eaten the pizza here probably 20 times. I always get Pizza Margherita. What makes this pizza better than everyone else is flavor and salt. A few weeks back we decided to try pizza hacker in MV bc I love sourdough. It was so flavorless. I can't understand the hype. I've also eaten at Hot Italian and it doesn't compare to Pico either. I left Picco feeling confused more than impressed. Between Picco Restaurant and Picco Pizzeria, it was not at all clear where we were supposed to be seated. An employee tried to explain it when we arrived, but after we chose to sit inside, we were first seated in the wrong area and then moved to the back where the pizza is served. Not exactly the smoothest start. The food was good, but a bit pricey for what it was. We ordered the mushroom pierogies (which was misspelled on the menu) and a pizza. Both were tasty, but neither was memorable enough to make me feel the prices were justified. Service, on the other hand, was very good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The strangest part was the seating. We were placed next to a service area hidden behind a curtain, except the curtain did nothing to block the noise. We could hear all the conversations going on behind it, and there seemed to be a lot of unnecessary drama happening back there. It gave the whole meal an oddly uncomfortable vibe. So yes, the restaurant is nice and the food is good, but the experience felt weird enough that I left unsure I would return. read more

We were given dirty used pizza cutters that were used on a DIFFERENT pizza with our pizza. NOT safe for vegetarians, dietary/religious restrictions, allergies, etc. customers. Brought up to waitress that there were green onions on the cutters we were given despite our pizza being a margarita pizza. Waitress said they put the cutters in water in between each pizza. Which makes no sense because cutter was provided to customer so that means they are not being washed between each customer usage. Very upsetting experience as a vegetarian--that too for my birthday celebration. Do better. read more

Great place to enjoy pizza, salad, and soft serve. BUT not as good as pre-pandemic. Pizza was not cooked evenly, little gems salad was delicious but small. Most of all, they were understaffed. One server and one busboy were trying to serve everyone outside (close to 40 people). It took a long time to get seated. Worst: the smelly restroom. Only one was unlocked. The one available was leaking from the toilet - no wonder. They need to treat their guests with more respect. read more

Yum! Taking a stroll down Magnolia Ave. we stopped into Pizzeria Picco after taking note of all the amazing pies street view from their awesome outdoor dining area. We probably wouldn't have ever stopped in if not, but viewing all the families and fun, we decided to give it a try. And of course, pizza is always the answer :) After getting seated we ordered drinks, a Caesar (we asked for it pre-chopped) since we had the baby with us, and the Devinci pizza, which came with spicy marinara sauce, buffalo stracciatella cheese (this was exceptional), fresh garlic, basil, and sea salt. We were on a bit of a time crunch, but the menu for the pizzeria side of Picco is so fun. There's such an array of drool-worthy pizzas, fresh salads/soups, a sprinkling of hearty appetizers like the mini smash burgers and wild mushroom perogies, and mains like the crispy pork schnitzel and New York strip. I would definitely come back to try more here, but with the time limit we had, we enjoyed the company, the beautiful marriage of sweet and spicy with our crispy pizza, and you truly can't beat sitting outdoors on Magnolia Ave taking it all in. FYI, pizzas range from $22-$26 (see pic for size). I think this is pretty fair given the quality and the type of ingredients, while of course not for everyone. The pizzas are traditional Neapolitan and cooked in a wood-burning oven. I didn't realize we visited the Pizzeria side, while there is a main restaurant (Picco) as well. My husband did a quick look inside the restaurant and said it was really cozy and cool, beautiful bar. Looks like almost similar menu for the most part. Vegan review-first time here today cuz we were craving a good pizza and yelp said it was vegan friendly. First impression the place is cute. We sat outside and we were a big party and got two tables right away luckily. There are no default vegan items on the menu but server said we could order anything without cheese and meat. Tried Kona cuz we usually enjoy pineapple and jalepenos as toppings. Ours came with very little sauce, little jalepeno and ton of pickled onions and even more pineapple pieces. It did not taste good. I grew up going to Picco Pizzeria - my father and I used to walk down here for dinners every week! I haven't been in years so was super excited to return a few weeks ago (2/23). We came for lunch, the lady who served us was nice but wasn't really around. She greeted us right away and offered waters (we were happy to have no wait on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!), and then it went downhill. We were never given a wine list and had to ask for one (we wanted a fun bottle of rose). It took close to 10 minutes to receive a wine list. The bottle of rose arrived after our two appetizers, not a huge deal. Then we had to search around and track someone down to order our pizzas (a very kind latino server finally took our order, not even our original server). She did not pour our wine one time, we did it all! The pizzas were the least exciting part of the meal unfortunately. Clearly they do have good servers there (the man who helped us most of the time) but we were ignored by our server. We still tipped 20% (hopefully they pool tips) but did not stay for dessert. I hadn't been to pizzeria picco in so long, but was happy to revisit it on a whim a few weeks ago. I was driving by with my daughters and traffic was really bad, so we decided to pull over and wait it out. This was the first pizza margherira, or fancy pizza, as my daughters call it, that they really loved. My friend and I have a once a month luncheon club and we were looking for somewhere new so we decided on this place. We are so glad we did! We sat down at one of the picnic tables out front as opposed to a regular table because it just felt so homey and comfortable. We were greeted right away by a nice waitress who brought us water and took our drink order. First up I had a Caesar salad and my friend had the rocket man salad. Both were phenomenal. They were both so fresh and crispy. We then split a margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella. It was fantastic! Very tasty and the service continued to be fantastic throughout. Delicious pizza! We came for dinner on a Friday in July and the weather was beautiful, so we sat outside on their benches. Luckily we were able to snag an opening table and we didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seated (2 adults, 3 kids). The food was fantastic. We ordered the ibis and specialized pizzas and the gnocchi. They also had a calamari app which was fried perfectly and the calamari was so tender. All of it was great. Spent the late afternoon at Pizzeria Picco today and it was beyond lovely! We had the little gems salad and the oh so delicious Ridgeback pizza. We came here after a day of hiking and the pizza really hit the spot. We got the nishiki, which was SO GOOD. It was just big enough to split with two people. The flavors were so unique on the pizza (cut up shishito peppers was so interesting) and we added the whole calabrian chilies, which were delicious and had such a neat flavor and texture. We also go the vanilla soft serve with the cocoa-almond cookie crumble, and it was ok, but I would pass on it if I came back. The soft serve didn't have much flavor and the cookie crumble was a bit too sweet and crunchy as a topping. The outdoor patio area was super nice, and even in December it was warm enough to enjoy. This is my go to favorite woodfired, authentic Italian Naples style pizza. I have actually never dined in. I always take my pizza to go then I can enjoy it at home with wine and a movie. It is always busy almost every table looks full. When I do pick up, they have overflow seating on the sidewalk and patio street side. Magnolia Avenue is usually busy with diners any given evening, so parking can be a tiny challenge My favorite pizza specifically is the specialized it has their housemaid, sausage and pepperoni and it's just rich and satisfying. Picco's has always been one of my favorite " go-to" restaurants. I've been going there since forever! I think they have new owners, not sure, and the service has taken a hit. But the pizza is still excellent, charred and chewy, with great ingredients. The salads are also very good. Finish your meal with a soft serve ice cream, which features some amazing toppings. We love dining at Picco -- the food is always on point. It does get pretty packed on the weekends, but honestly, it's worth the wait. On my most recent visit with a friend and my toddler, we ordered the Little Jam salad, the veggie risotto, and the Son of the Yeti pizza (always a favorite!) and always get a side of Calabrian chili, it adds the perfect kick. Lately, I've been obsessed with their vanilla ice cream topped with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, such a unique and delicious combo! The staff was friendly and attentive as always, and I really appreciated the help from the new manager, Sabri. He was warm, welcoming, and made sure everything went smoothly for us. Friday night begs for pizza and on this night we wanted to grab takeout from Picco. There's a lot of delicious options on the menu but it's no regular pizza spot. The prices are higher and the options are elevated. Garlic knots are not on this menu. I ordered the Davinci pizza at $23 because of the spicy sauce. It's not spicy at all so don't worry if you want this pizza but not the spice. The pizza had a thin crust but held up to the sauce. Radicchio salad is a favorite so I had to try this one. I really enjoyed the bits of cheese and pomegranate seeds. The salad is on the small side for $16. I also ordered the grilled squid appetizer at $21. There was a few pieces of squid but they were cooked perfectly. The sauce in this was really good. I dipped my pizza crust in there a few times. With this dish, I wish some crusty bread was served. Buried in the sauce are slices of small potato and mild green olive. It all worked together and taste fantastic. Again, a small portion. The food is good and was ready for pick up in half hour. That's fast for a busy Friday. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is tricky on the Main Street but you usually can find a parking spot on side streets. This is a "treat-yo-self" spot that will not disappoint. Happy eating. read more

Picco has often been my favorite place in all of Marin, back when I lived in California. It used to be a weekly occurrence, every Friday, that my wife and I would come here for date night. I finally had a had a chance to return during my last visit to California for a best friends wedding. It's still exactly how I remember it, maybe even better! The food is still phenomenal, the service still top notch, and totally the place to be. What an environment! The pizza is simply delicious and I definitely had some nostalgia of my times living here years ago. I loved the generous amount of chopped leeks and every single ingredient on this was a good one! IBIS - $22 prosciutto, oregano, shaved garlic, mozzarella, parmesan, arugula, de padova extra virgin olive oil. Definitely on the saltier side because of the prosciutto, but that's why I loved the fresh arugula on top to balance it all out. I enjoyed this one quite well! All in all the pizzas were delightful and I feel you can't go wrong with which kind of pizza you get. STRAUS DAIRY SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM - $6 The selection for soft serve flavors were vanilla, chocolate, and swirl, which is what I chose. For toppings I chose the HARD CHOCOLATE SHELL for $1.25. It was fun to crack that thick shell and boy was the chocolate rich. Ice cream is what you'd expect. This simple ice cream was so enjoyable and if you finish that chocolate shell, it will feel like you just finished a whole chocolate candy bar! Service was stellar and they were all so friendly. This is a great pizza restaurant here in Larkspur. They have lots to offer from freshly made pastas, authentic pizzas with exotic toppings, and Delicious dessert! We started with two pastas; tomato saffron linguini and gnocchi. Both pastas were freshly made and had incredible flavor. Their gnocchi is soft and fluffy and mixed well with the fennel sausage and truffle butter. Their tomato-saffron linguini had a nice citrus bite that also blended well with their Manila clams and garlic. It's also unique to see red colored linguini! Their pizzas are amazing with my favorites being Son of Yeti and Specialized. The son of yeti is a pizza I haven't tasted before with mushrooms, thyme, leeks, fresh garlic, pecorino and Parmesan. This pizza has texture and a light smoke which just does it. I recommend ordering their chili oil as well; it pairs well with all their pizzas. We'd like to give a huge thanks to our sever, Ryan. He did an excellent job with our orders, refills, and even had time to converse with us even though it was busy. He has great time management skills and is very efficient. Refer to my previous post about the food as that hasn't changed. My go-to pizzas are still the Margarita and Marin and they have yet to disappoint. Ask for extra roasted garlic - you will thank me. Our server was great, but I didn't catch his name. All I know is that he was friendly, attentive, and courteous. He also shared that he was previously a teacher at a middle school in the South Bay (yay for teachers) - just an all-around cool guy. The part that left a very sour taste in our mouths was the interaction we had with whom we believe was a manager. We had a very well behaved small dog with us - no issues on that. Because we were seated directly under a heating lamp, the temperature was definitely warm. Our puppy hadn't had water during the entire dinner, which was nearly 2 hours long. We had finished eating and were waiting on the credit card to be returned. We offered my dog some water straight from the glass since we were all finished and everything had been cleared. Suddenly, a man came out and scolded us in a very rude manner for allowing our dog to drink out of the cup. Of course, we were apologetic and we understand where he was coming from; however, there was absolutely no reason to speak to us in that tone. It was so disrespectful and it could have been handled very differently. We were very surprised and although we could have spoken up, there was really no need to create a scene over a small drink of water from a leftover glass that was ultimately going to be washed anyway...or at least we hope so. Pretty sure my puppy was cleaner than the average person and I'm also certain that people with covid have already made their mark on those same glasses...
