really wanted to like this place. I love supporting local, family-run businesses, and I came in with genuinely good intentions. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst café experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived, the service felt off. I was greeted, but also noticeably stared at in a way that felt judgmental and unwelcoming--never a great first impression in a hospitality setting. Their Wi-Fi was down, and the area has very poor cell service, which essentially made it impossible to work. While outages happen, there was no acknowledgment or apology, and it's a major issue for a café that appears to position itself as a place to sit and work. Ordering was another problem. I asked for a matcha latte, and no follow-up questions were asked--no hot or iced, no milk preference. I had to track the barista down myself to clarify. The drink itself was honestly terrible: extremely bitter, grassy, and undrinkable. I left most of it untouched. At nearly $10, it was also the most expensive (and worst) matcha I've ever had. The biggest issue, however, was how payment was handled. Their POS system was down, and I was asked to pay in cash. I didn't have cash, which is normal in 2026. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, I was bluntly told to "sit down" and wait--despite explaining that I had a scheduled meeting and needed to leave. At one point, I was told the only way I could leave was by handing over my credit card information to be written down and kept behind the counter. That is completely inappropriate and unsecured, and I refused. The situation became uncomfortable enough that other customers visibly noticed, and at least one couple left because of how rudely staff were speaking to guests. Eventually, I had to call a friend to bring cash just to resolve a $10 charge, which still took unnecessary time due to confusion between staff. I fully understand that small businesses have bad days. Systems go down. Things happen. But hospitality is about how you handle those moments. There was no apology, no accommodation, and no respect for customers' time or boundaries. I hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but I cannot recommend this place in good faith--especially when there are nearby cafés that offer good service, functional systems, Wi-Fi, and basic courtesy.

    Delicious pepperoni pizza

I've enjoyed coming here often on for probably 10 years now. And that says it all - in this time or restaurants come and go, especially with Covid happening, this place has stood the test of time. You order at the counter and pay up front. The menu is full of different options for pizza... with salads, calzones, and some Italian dishes as well. This visit I ordered the pepperoni pizza and a glass of rosé. (I ordered another glass of rosé after sitting, and it was brought to me easily and quickly as well!) Open seating, seat yourself, and I'll bring you the food and drinks there's an outdoor patio with some heat lamps if it's chilly - abundant seating is present. The staff is very family like and friendly. Very personable. The food is delicious. It was a conscious choice to come here on the day I went, and I chose this place over two other places I get pizza regularly in the area. The pizza had a delicious crust, flavorful sauce, the right amount of cheese, and lots of pepperoni. They are open for lunch and dinner, so you can get the food goodness all day long. I tend to gravitate towards places that make me feel comfortable and welcome. Not to mention - good food and drinks! Cafe Verde definitely a go to for me, and if you're in the area, you definitely can't go wrong if you'd like Italian or pizza.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and sat outside on the covered patio. Weather was nice. Service was ok, could have been a bit more cordial, but I was looking for pizza. There was a good selection of pies and I landed on the Spoleto, which is a mushroom and sausage pizza. It was very tasty, but next time I'll as them to keep it in the fire for another 5 minutes to get the center a bit more crispy. Overall enjoyed the pie and would recommend coming again.

Friday's pizza fix at Cafe Verde. What a surprise to walk into jazz music played by local teenagers. Bravo crew! We grabbed some tasty German beer, salad, and pizza. It's a good local spot to grab a bite. I would ask for the pizza to stay in longer next time. I can't wait until it's warm enough to site outside. They have a great beer selection on tap.

Pisa breakfast pizza! The bomb. So darn good. I thoroughly enjoy this place. Not always a warm and fuzzy welcome but more like dry humor which I enjoy. The Antipasta Mista is also wonderful. The bread is warm, toasty and with oil - not anything like I've had other places. Decent wines and beers, nice salads, other pizzas have been just as delicious. Espresso, good looking desserts. Back for more soon!

Came in for the first time on Sunday evening with my sister and brother in law. Greeted and seated by the window. Ordered two pizzas -one Caesar salad -two glasses of red wine -and a red velvet cake for dessert. Truly one of the best pizzas we have ever had. Fantastic chewy crust. Do not understand one of the reviews saying you have to order at the counter lest you look entitled? we intended to order at the counter but before we could, we were very graciously waited on and served. Maybe that has changed since that review . It wasn't that busy so maybe that was why? Anyway, it was a great experience, great dinner, and enjoyed our time there very much. And even got an extra (comped) dessert probably because we were new to the restaurant; it was such a nice thoughtful gesture. Will definitely come here again.

    Caprese Salad

First time visiting after seeing it mentioned someplace on ND. Too cold to sit outside but I'm fully vaccinated so I felt comfortable sitting in their sheltered patio. I ordered a caprese salad, the eggplant parm and a glass of Prosecco. The portions of food were very large. Enough for another meal for take home! The tomatoes definitely looked heirloom and the fresh mozzarella was so smooth. Eggplant was tasty with lots of sauce and basil. Fresh parm was also left on the table. Bread was offered, but I declined. It was not inexpensive. But I'm looking at it from the point of two meals vs one. While it is counter ordering, the owner works the tables as service. Several people came in after me so it was nice to see afternoon biz for them.

Chicken risotto with lots of fresh sliced basil. Whole chicken breast. Enough for two meals. Yum!

Our veal cannelloni and chicken risotto were both excellent tonight, as was the starter Caesar salad. A beautiful late summer evening on our lovely Town Park Plaza, enjoying our uniquely charming community cafe.

We wanted to order pizza, but we were told we had to go to a different side of the building. Then we were offered a completely different menu, which made the experience even more confusing. Our waiter was rude and didn't seem to know much about the menu or the dishes. The prices were extremely high, and for a party of five, our bill came to over $400--almost $500. To make matters worse, the food did not justify the price. The salmon was undercooked, the portions were incredibly small, and the overall quality was disappointing. We actually had to go somewhere else to eat afterward because we were still hungry. Overall, this was a terrible dining experience. We will never come back, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Hopefully, none of us gets sick after eating there.

An employee tried to explain it when we arrived, but after we chose to sit inside, we were first seated in the wrong area and then moved to the back where the pizza is served. Not exactly the smoothest start. The food was good, but a bit pricey for what it was. We ordered the mushroom pierogies (which was misspelled on the menu) and a pizza. Both were tasty, but neither was memorable enough to make me feel the prices were justified. Service, on the other hand, was very good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The strangest part was the seating. We were placed next to a service area hidden behind a curtain, except the curtain did nothing to block the noise. We could hear all the conversations going on behind it, and there seemed to be a lot of unnecessary drama happening back there. It gave the whole meal an oddly uncomfortable vibe. So yes, the restaurant is nice and the food is good, but the experience felt weird enough that I left unsure I would return.

I love fish, and I went into Pacific Catch, it has a nice atmosphere. When I walked in there were two other guys in front of me with their phone out in their hands and showing they were for pickup. After they got their orders, I was next in line, I smiled and said hi, the host who was this young guy didn't even say hello, but had the audacity to think I am some delivery guy like the other two guys in front of me. That really put me off was. I am an IT engineer; I had just left the site I was working and was wearing my work cargo pants and a Tshirt. I don't know what gave this jerk the impression I was there for a pickup, but I replied, NO I am here to eat and get a table. He then with the same miserable expression, reluctantly walked me to a single table, I asked for a larger like a boot and he replied in a rude tone " No, we need those for a larger crowd". That was not accurate as I saw two others sitting alone at a booth. He then threw the menu on the table and walked off. If I wasn't so tired, exhausted, and hungry, I would have walked out and said something to the manager about this jerk on my way out, but I decided to stay. The server came and even he had a weird attitude; I just ordered the food and it came pretty quickly. The Clam chowder soup was just amazing; so was the Salmon sandwich and the house salad was just more amazing. I travel around the country, I eat at many restaurants, and rarely I felt the entire three-course meal to be this good and it was a home run on everything I eat. This was the best meal of my arrival trip that night. On my way out I went to the other female hostess and I asked if I could speak to her in private. She was nice and polite and I told her about this other rude host and how I was treated by him. I saw him looking at me from behind the bar with two other waiters. The hostess assured me she would address the issue with management about him. As I was leaving, this jerk continued looking at me with a smirk on his face, and I then said "You should really work on how you speak to people". He then started laughing and made some comment that I didn't hear and all I heard was loud laughter from all 3 of the like the 3 stooges. I had no issue with the other two staff, and I didn't understand why they felt it was ok to laugh at a paying customer. It ugly after that, and I did address it with one of the owners the next day on the phone about what happened. I even went back the second night in a row, only because of the food, and I was assured that that host won't be there. In the end, the food is what wins; this place has amazing gourmet food, and regardless of the poor service, I still think its one of the best restaurants I have eat at. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that incident.
