    arancini and pina calmada
    Miranda D.

A staple whenever I visit Mt. Tam/Mill Valley! Love sitting outside on the warmer nights, such a cute and warm atmosphere throughout the entire restaurant. Service is great, food comes out quickly, and everything is yummy! The arancini is mine and my partner's favorite appetizer. The piña calmada is a great mocktail option for those who prefer not to drink! The pizza flavors are amazing! I would say the dough/crust is not as crispy and I know some people enjoy their pizzas that way. Make sure to ask for it well done if that's the case! Nonetheless, everything was perfect. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for (make sure to ask for it warmed up).

    Eggplant parm

Had the eggplant parm - it was good except for the claggy thick slice of motz on top that wasn't melted. But the eggplant was delicious, as was the sauce. Also had the salmon that was perfect. It was on top of a smooth, fresh hummus with a corn salad - simply divine. Asked for some bread and were given 2 slices of 'grilled' bread that they charged $2.50 for!!! I guess when I asked for bread and the waiter said 'an order of bread?' I should have guessed. I know it's a small issue, but we won't be coming back. Too many other options.

Very tasty and fresh food. Friendly attentive staff. Great patio for summer nights. Prices commensurate with Bay Area and Marin. Goddess salad was delicious, as was the vegetarian pasta. Cheese pizza was flatbread style.

When visiting Mill Valley, I love to stop by Tamalpie for an authentic Italian. They're always open and service is the best! Usually have a salad, pizza or pasta. They make a lot their fare in house... you can eat or out in the patio where they have heaters and a warm fire pit..great for the winter. They have a full bar, espresso and big screens for those big games. They have house made desserts. Last time we were there, Chef Nester was passionately working on a Key Lime pie. Lastly, this is a local business and we want support them.

Chicken Parmesan and short rib pappardelle

I have been coming here for years, when I lived in SF and now living in Marin. The food and service are always consistently excellent and friendly, with high quality ingredients and a cozy vibe. Some favorites are the minestrone soup (homemade), broccolini, Goddess salad, chicken Parmesan and any of the pastas but the ragu and bolognese sauces are especially great. Not sure about the reviews that talk about small portions, as we usually have leftovers to take home. The desserts are not overly sweet, and I especially like the butterscotch pudding and the warm cookie with milk.

    Caesar salad and Calamari Fritti

My friends and I came to Tamalpie after hiking in Marin and we were STARVING. We brought our dog to the dog friendly outdoor seating which was a plus. The waitress was friendly and attentive and our food came out quickly. The calamari wasn't as crispy as I usually like but it could have been because we put lemon on it. The Caesar salad was good but didn't blow me away since the dressing was unevenly dispersed. The star of the show was the Tenderfoot (mushroom) pizza! The crust was soft and baked to perfection. My boyfriend really liked the Railroad grade (pepperoni) pizza and also agreed that the crust was fantastic. I would definitely go back and sit outside on the patio by the fireplaces on a cool night. I love that it's dog friendly!

12" Cascade Pizza missing arugula and parm cheese
    Jen P.

We were visiting from out of town and our host recommended. We got take out and order kids cheese pizza and the 12 inch Cascade. When we got back to our place, we noticed the arugula was missing. Didn't want to drive back so didn't contact the restaurant. But super bummed and pizza was plain basically some ham and cheese on top of dough. Added beer from Safeway :)

Most average pizza for best pizza prices. Added a star because it wasn't necessarily bad, just not worth it at all.

She was super accommodating and attentive without being overbearing. Once we told her what we liked, she immediately knew what to recommend and guided us through the menu perfectly. You can tell she knows her stuff. We came specifically for happy hour (we're definitely HH aficionados) and made it our mission to try everything on the menu. While the chips & dip were good, they're something you can find elsewhere, so not necessarily a standout. Everything else, though? OUTSTANDING! The hummus, whipped feta, and muhamarra were next-level--easily some of the best we've had. The CN burger sliders were also a hit--we had one each and they were so yummy that next time my husband is already planning on getting two. The drinks were on point. The espresso martinis absolutely fueled our afternoon in the best way, and we also tried the creamsicle cocktail and the shrimp Za'atar from the regular menu--both were super delicious in their own way. The ambiance was great, and the bartender was clearly on top of things, which always adds to the overall vibe. One thing worth noting: happy hour is now only offered Monday-Thursday, but Sydney was kind enough to honor it for us on Saturday since the website hadn't been updated yet. That level of service really sealed the deal for us. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish--great food, great drinks, and even better service. Easy five stars.

Lately, visits have been less successful. Bigger crowds and service snafus have impacted the experience. I love the success they are having, but a recent visit was so crowded, we had to involve the host just to find our waitress when some of our food didn't arrive. She never returned to check on us. It was a weekend, loud and full to capacity and we had fallen off her radar for over half an hour. It seems with the success, Corner Bar may be at a crossroads: deciding whether to focus on the high energy and crowds or on the great service and positive experiences that keep customers coming back.

We had a productive conversation about what service should be and can be. And once they get the team more settled, I'll come back and see how the experience changes. A solo diner I sat at a table by the door. It was fine. The view is beautiful. And I was excited to have a menu with more than a salad as the gluten free option. I ordered from the $50 2 course prix fix menu. After I was sat, the waiter missed my glass pouring the water and poured it on the table. He was adjusting a chair for my handbag which I appreciated, but failed to see or clean the puddle on my table where my plate was to go. After ordering coffee, the waitress brought it out in a cup cracked from rim to base. And set it down with no mind or notice. I had to tell her it was broken and requested a cup that wasn't broken. My parfait arrived, it looked beautiful. Hurriedly setting it down, turning his back to me and quickly assisting another table the waiter failed to notice I didn't have a spoon to eat my food with. Expecting steak as my next course I'm not eating a parfait with a fork and knife. Looking around I saw a cluster of three servers talking in a corner. My first server no where in sight. So I got up and walked inside to request a spoon so I could begin eating. The manager came out and spoke with me, and said he would address the service. Unfortunately the damage has been done. This is my first time visiting Tiburon, and I passed on recommendations to go to Sam's and Malibu Farm to come here. Deeply regretting that decision. As a solo diner I find we can be treated as after thoughts to a server. What they should consider is we have a voice, spending power, and in my case a love of dining out.
