Stopped in for happy hour on a quiet, post holidays Sunday after taking a leisurely stroll through San Anselmo's charming little downtown strip. We were excited to take advantage of the great happy hour deals from 4-5pm daily ($5 off pizzas, $7 wine, $5 beers), but we were blown away by the pizza. Apparently the pizza chef was a protege of Tony Gemignani, the first American (or non-Italian period) to win Best Pizza Margherita at the World Pizza Cup in Naples, and he also won Best Pizza Romana at the World Championship of Pizza Makers. This stellar training shined bright in every bite of savory flavors on the half Biagio / half Heart of Marin pizza we ordered as we sat at the bar with the welcoming bartender taking care of us. The crust was tangy and had the perfect texture while the ingredients on our veggie / combo pie were top notch tasty. My kid and I happened upon Creekside Pizza on Mother's Day. We had dinner plans for the evening but needed a quick and casual lunch to tide us over until then. We had been shopping nearby and were cruising down the street looking for something interesting to eat and there was Creekside. Not only did we luck out on the perfect parking space, we also snagged the last open table once we got inside. The luck continued when my daughter saw that they have a vegan pizza with toppings that she likes. Still, she elected to branch out and build her own on their vegan and gluten-free crust. She was very pleased with her choice, although I thought her combo of arugula, jalapeños, pineapple, and mushrooms was...interesting. I got the May special and absolutely LOVED it. They really should consider adding it to the menu. Imagine a pepperoni pizza with jalapeño slices, cilantro, and a drizzle each of chipotle sauce and hot honey, all on a crust so chewy and flavorful that you won't be leaving any pizza bones behind. Some of the pies are a little pricey but the quality and freshness are obvious so it makes sense. We greatly enjoyed our impromptu stop here and hope to return soon! P.S. 5 STARS all the way. If only I knew They had a happy hour and it started at 4 (I showed up 3:30) it would've been my favorite spot. The guy at the bar today was awesome! Asked my name and made me feel super welcome every time I came back in using my name making me feel like a regular is a keeper! I got the Woodys round up which is like a bbq chicken pizza so freaking good also got an order of the fingerling potatoes to start off with and was like "hot damn" . They have 2 great sours on tap and also a brew from humble sea that I really enjoyed. Along with many other brews. They do have indoor seating but we had a toddler so opted for outside. When you let them know it's outside they pack everything Togo which for us was great because we ate there in the outdoor seating and then migrated over the bridge for another nice view. All in all it was fun, had great food and a good time with some creek views after visiting memorial park down the street. I will be back! read more

This is my family's go-to spot for pizza, even if we're just grabbing a pepperoni. Love the convenience of ordering online or calling for a pickup. There is also roadside service, so you can park out front and have a staff member carry out the order if you're unable to enter the restaurant. Keep in mind that this place can get packed during weekends and even weeknight dinners --- when this happens, they sometimes shut down online ordering and may not even pick up the phone. There are often long waitlines outside when the weather is nice, so when I can order online or call ahead of time, I always do. Dine in if you don't mind waiting, or call ahead to beat the rush! My favorite of their specialty pizzas is the Geronimo. If you get it to go, the toppings are also packaged separately. So thoughtful! read more

OMG. I absolutely love this place so much I may need to move to San Anselmo. I was in town for a high school soccer match and needed to grab lunch before the match. My daughter and I decided to give Creekside Pizza a try and we were so glad we did. The pizzas are so fresh and delicious. My daughter got the Mac and cheese and loved it as well. Mmm... First visit despite living close and hearing great things for years this was my first visit. Better later than never and it was worth the wait. We split fingerling potatoes with a dipping sauce that was creamy I don't even know what it was but perfect is enough- then we split the wedge salad. Crunchy lettuce presented so pretty with baby tomatoes and bacon and onions- then my friend had the meatball sandwich which he said was absolutely delicious ( he's kinda a meatball sub expert) and I had the spaghetti which was really tasty and the meatball was moist and well seasoned which is key. We'll go back for pizza as we were drooling at other tables who ordered pizza. They look beautiful. Staff is very attentive and friendly- it was just a perfect lazy day meal. read more

We took our niece 10 and nephew 8 there. As most kids that age are a bit picky and like what their mom gives them ....not at Creekside. They ate every piece. Keep up the good work. This was the easiest 5 stars to give after eating here today. We decided on this place after doing some exploring of San Anselmo. My friend and I were pretty hungry and ordered the burrata, garlic parmesan puffs, and alto adige pizza to share. I also ordered The Salami sandwich to go for later. The appetizers arrived in a timely manner and the pizza was timed perfectly after that. Also, each table gets a carafe of water. The puffs were light and had really good flavor. There was some crispness to the outside with good chewiness on the inside. They weren't greasy at all. The burrata came with whole green olives, salami, arugula salad, and toast. The burrata was flavorful and the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. My only disappointment was that there was not enough bread. It came with 6 small long ovals, 8 would have been better. Bu a great dish overall. The pizza was white sauce based with prociutto, sopraffina, mozarella, shaved parmesan, and finished off with arugula, sweet balsamic drizzle, and lemon zest. It had a thin, light, and crispy crust with the appropriate amount of toppings for the size and crust. It wasn't heavy or oily. Really tasty. Finally, the salami sandwich came with a good chunk of sliced dry salami, fresh mozarella, tomatoes, and olive oil on a sourdough roll. I omitted the red onions. I ate it a few hours later and it wasn't soggy overall, maybe just one spot. The roll was tasty. It was probably the best salami sandwich I've ever had. Service was awesome, friendly hostess and servers. Comfortable ambiance, clean, not too loud even though it was getting busy after arriving around 3:30pm on a Saturday. The only hiccup was that the server didn't ask for our main dish order as we were munching on the appetizers so we had to stop her but no big deal. Loved my first experience here. Wow, what an amazing experience all the way through--food, drink, atmosphere and service. I went to this place based on a client recommendation while visiting relatives in the Bay Area. We had drinks (many tap choices of beer and kombuchas); appetizers and salads. Salads were very fresh and bright. The PIZZAS: So good! We had four types of their signature pizzas on two pies. (They happily did this). They have the right balance of crispy crust to toppings. I don't know which was my favorite because enjoyed each of them. We got to meet the owner, Pat, who obviously loves what he does and it comes through in the amazing tastes and experience. Took son's family with us this evening for a simple meal and some drinks. Excellent place to do so. Their pizzas are excellent. All the topping varieties and they will do half and half with toppings. Also sandwiches which are well-stacked with meats and veggies and there are some nice salads. Desserts, too. Wines by the glass or bottle, beer on draft and a good choice of canned beers. Service was just fine. Clean facility to include restrooms. Weather permitting, they have a sawdust filled outdoor area with tables. What more can you say? Very impressed with the spicy pizza with gluten free crust! We had this for our zoom pizza party at work and it had four different types of chili and amazingly the flavors were lovely!!
