I went here yesterday with my former co workers and we enjoyed everything we had! Our cocktails were so good! I had the daydream! I love lemon and lavender so I enjoyed my drink. The pizzas are reaaaalllly good! Thin crust, but not soggy. It reminds me of authentic Italian pizza. The varieties are simple but very tasty! We loved the Mushroom and the one with Honey Chili! The service is great! Our food came in pretty quick and the server is very nice and welcoming! The place is a bit small but cozy and nice. Definitely will be going back again!

What a not so perfect kept secret on 4th street. Awesome energy and atmosphere. Amazing pizza and salads - really knocked it out of the park. We've been eating at vin for years but finally made it into this once popup now permanent vibey spot. Great for families or adult night out - very well prepared not just some local pizza joint!

Pizza was fabulous!! Took the boys out for some pizza after their USL2 AFC game and we had a great time! Thanks to nina valentina for her recommendation!! I apologize for not remembering the names of the pizza but Damn they were good. Environment was off the hook. Music and setting really set the mood. I recommend you try all of the pizzas they have!! Definitely check this place out if you're in downtown San Rafael. If you're not content, let me know in a review

It was late and we were looking to grab a bite before everything closed down in the area. We got in about 40 minutes before they closed and was able to get a table right away. We ordered and the pizzas came out pretty quick. The pizzas were okay as they were burnt and we felt like they rushed to make them so they could close on a timely manner. It is a small menu. We also ordered their salad which was pretty interesting. Service was great.

Good pizza, good drinks and a great atmosphere. (But make sure you know where the place is, as it's the first pizza place I've ever been on the second floor of a building)

Above Vin Antico in San Rafael is a foodie Italian treasure. They run separately, but your bill says Vin Antico. It's a six item menu without substitutions. I loved it but my friend thought the crust was overly burnt. Next time I may ask them to undercook it a bit. An important note is you can only get there by stairs but you can probably get the pizza from vin antico too. The cocktails are almost as much as the pizzas so budget accordingly.

Another great dinner! Get there early before the rush. It's a simple menu but they do it all well. It's a small space but be patient. It's worth it. Caesar salad is on the menu. The dressing is light and add a perfect coat for the romaine lettuce. Crunch bits of bread are dusted for a crunch. It's a light way to start your night. Pizzas are thin and chewy. There's attention to detail for each pie. I can tell these folks are passionate. Grab a cocktail and watch the show (pizza making).

We had a delicious cocktail but the pizza was so delicious we both ate it all. The spiciness of the sausage pizza was the perfect amount. Love this place and can't wait to come back

Does anyone know if this spot is open again ? No phone and website says to check calendar but no calendar. Went twice when yelp said open and was closed both times so would like to know in advance if possible :)

    Is it kid friendly?

I saw a family with very young kids there early on a Thursday. It would be more challenging on a crowded weekend, but possible.

They offer Detroit thick crust and New York thin crust pizza with a gluten free option if the thin crust. The NY crust is my fave... thin, chewy crisp crust. Mmm. This time, we dined at the restaurant. It is in the heart of downtown San Rafael on 4th Street . The shop front is not very large. We got there early and they were able to accommodate the eight of us. The fam ordered garden salads and three pizzas with one being gluten free with vegan cheese (Daiya brand). The gluten free fam bammers liked the crust. It looked just like the non gluten crust and had the same beautiful flame fired blistered crust. Mmm it was delicious as well. Our food was served quickly after ordering. Besides pizza, the menu includes appetizers, salads ( in various sizes), sandwiches, pastas, desserts, kid menu, and alcohol (wines, beers, and hard seltzers). Heads up on the parking situation. There is metered street parking ($1.50 per hour and free on Sundays & after 6pm) and is mostly parallel. If parallel parking is not your jam, the downtown city lot is around the corner on C Street ($1 per hour and free on the weekends). FYI - they accept: cash payments with bills no larger than a $20, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Goggle Pay.

The tomato and basil pizza was burnt so badly that it was inedible. It was beyond horrible. Yet, it was boxed and sealed and we were charged for it. The meat one was charred on one side and raw on the other. It wasn't edible. The wedge salad was whole and mostly iceberg lettuce with some tomato and one tub of ranch dressing. The house salad had onions, which we specifically asked be omitted when we ordered. The dressing was supposed to be on the side, but had spilled out. Things they couldn't control but didn't help: cars were parked in the loading area. There was no other parking and we had to park three blocks away and walk there and back. So I wanted to like it more than I actually do. Here's my main issue: the sauce situation. There's barely any on the pizza by default, and if you want what I'd consider a normal amount of sauce, they charge extra for it. That feels a bit like charging extra for a burger to actually have seasoning. The cheese is fine, the crust is fine, the toppings are fine. Everything is solidly in "okay" territory. Nothing offensive, but nothing that makes me think "I need to order from here" either. Skip the wings. They taste like they've been reheated from frozen, often arrive soggy, and have this thick breading that slides right off. Worse, they're frequently overcooked to the point where the bones actually splinter inside the meat, which is both unappetizing and kind of concerning. Just not worth ordering. The staff is genuinely friendly, which counts for something. There's a private parking lot, so no circling the block looking for a spot. And the coupons they mail out regularly do bring the price down to a reasonable level compared to other chain pizza places in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to order from Stefano's, but I seem to be in the minority here. Plenty of people clearly love it. There's a reason it's become the default pizza for so many local schools and camps. Kids especially seem to be fans, and if you're feeding a crowd on a budget with their coupons, it gets the job done. It's a perfectly serviceable neighborhood pizza place that works well for many people, just not my first choice. If you're curious, maybe start with just a pizza (extra sauce, trust me) and form your own opinion.

They have their own house-made chili oil which was really good, just a bit too spicy for my tastes (as someone who doesn't eat too spicy things), but my boyfriend enjoyed it. We ordered the Stella Pinsa (Mozzarella, crescenza cheese, prosciutto parma, and seasonal mushrooms), Ghiretti Panino (Prosciutto Parma, Fiordi latte mozzarella, fresh tomato ,arugula, evo), and Stracciatella Gilato. The stella pinsa was my favorite, the panini was equally as good and the tomato and arugula added freshness. Heather informed us the pinsa is their dough that is proofed for 48(?) hours, so it tastes a bit like sourdough. We were also told that their gelato flavors rotate and they make it in house too! It's inside a mall, and I did not see any directories to point the way. Once we found it and sat down, I noticed the sign telling us to scan the QR code on the table to order. Honestly, that almost sent me right back out the door. I wanted an actual menu, not a tiny phone screen with lots of scrolling and submenus, especially since I had questions about the food. The atmosphere felt a bit impersonal at first, mostly because of the mall setting and the QR-code ordering system, but the friendly staff helped make it feel much more comfortable once we got settled. The two people working the front were both very pleasant, answered my questions, and made the whole experience feel much more welcoming. They had a decent IPA selection and a variety of bar foods (pizza, wings, appetizers). We ordered the arancini, fried cauliflower, and a pizza. The fried cauliflower was the surprise hit for me, especially with the garlic aioli. The arancini and pizza were also very good. The QR ordering setup still feels more frustrating than inviting, but the friendly service and surprisingly good food turned things around. In the end, I left glad that I stayed.
