Wish it were closer to my home. Typical bar food, but I love their fish specials. They are wonderful and the food plentiful. I always get the zucchini steaks--always hot and great. I had an elderberry cucumber cocktail and it was very good. The price was good too $10, I believe. Staff always pleasant yet our young lady was a bit too chatty, but she is inexperienced. Great large local restaurant. My wife and I came with our toddler for happy hour, and glad we came. They have good happy hour specials which the outdoor patio seating is included. We got Buffalo tenders and chicken nachos, which I thought were both good, esp the tenders. We had a kind server, and she provided crayons and coloring paper for the toddler. I think the avocado dressing was just a bit thick. The main Louisiana pasta that I got was underwhelming. When I think of Louisiana pasta, I'm thinking more creamy and spicy. PJ Skidoos has Prime Rib on the menu every night, and my husband swears it is the best. So we go every so often over many years so he can have his favorite dish. The service has always been competent, friendly and top notch. The Manager checks with every customer. The prices are extremely reasonable especially for drinks. There are seating options, quieter in the back section, and more lively in the front, outside or bar areas. It's a blast from the past and 5 Star in almost every way. However, there are areas for improvement. We'd go more often but I don't like Prime Rib and have a hard time finding something to order. They've had the same limited menu for a long, long time. I would welcome healthier less fat items like a simple grilled chicken with broccoli. The garden pasta looked good but the dressing had way too much oil, too bad there is not an option for a lighter broth type sauce. On the plus side, London Broil is usually very good with less fat so I order that but would like more healthy choices. I welcomed the Mama's meatballs added to the menu a while back, but they sadly lack flavor and disappoints. Hopefully PJ's will eventually add more items to their menu. read more

I had some inoffensive songs ready but encountered almost a crime scene or something! The place is big, very old school for sure, but spacious. The happy hour is pretty good and they have specials everyday it seems. The bar is not set up that great to tend for a full bar with only one bartender. My partner and I got the spinach and artichoke dip to start and I loved the consistency, but it was absolutely bland. It needed major salt, otherwise it would be great! The ribs were wayyyyy too salty which made me laugh, cause they amount of salt on there could have been distributed to the spinach dip. I ordered the prime rib which was reasonably priced for a 10 oz. The prime rib had a lot of herbaceous rub and the au jous was really good. It was perfect as far as the amount of fat versus meat. It gave me a meal for 2 more days and I made a prime rib omlette with it for breakfast as a sandwich dip. I would not mind coming back to try more of the menu, but definitely not something I would jump on in a heartbeat read more

However, the atmosphere and vibe are awesome. It was funny that our server didn't know what is B&T. We were shock, but I guess she was too young or new to the job. The cobb salad I received was wonderful, however, the chicken tender dinner was awful. I am paying full price for a dinner and it was as if chicken tenders from McDonalds landed on my plate. I've visited a few times now for their thirst Thursday deal. It's happy hour until 8 pm and then $1 drinks for power hour 8-9 PM. Overall, it's a good deal but very many college kids, which is understandable given the area + prices. They also have good deals on food. Definitely come early before it packs up. I've tried their nachos, zucchini fries, and calamari now. All are great but the nachos are my favorite. Definitely standard bar food but it's cheap and does the job. I've driven past PJ Skidoos multiple times, and have always wanted to stop in. I'm happy I did. Inside you're greeted by a friendly hostess who walks you through a beautiful, dark wood, dining room. The walls are covered with relics from the past. We ordered finger foods: chicken fingers, and potato skins. Both were outstanding. Lastly, I ordered the French Onion (I try them wherever I go). Overall the FO Soup was good, it had the perfect amount of cheese and wasn't overwhelming with onions. My only suggestion would be a pinch more salt in the broth. Side note* I would have ordered an Old Fashion if the bar had ice molds (Large Ice Cube). I'm not sure why bars don't carry the silicone molds to make them. I was pleasantly surprised! Service was spectacular. Attentive. Quick. GREAT attitude. The seat is a bit awkward. My elderly mom struggled a bit to get comfortable and we ended up right by the kitchen so there was a lot of traffic. The salads are nothing special but the bread was warm and delicious. Ribs were fall off the bone and tasty. The veggie quesadilla was full of mushrooms and cheese and was delicious. The salsa came straight out of a jar, though. Honestly it doesn't take much effort to make some fresh pico and would have made a huge difference. The Louisiana pasta left a lot to be desired. Plain and tasteless except for the incredibly spicy sausage. The desserts, though. Wow. The mousse was to die for and the cheesecake and brownie were excellent. Really loved how the waiter told us what toppings were on the desserts just to make sure we were good with them. All in all it was very good and worth the price. We will certainly be back. read more

I found the trivia night host's volume to be a bit too loud for our liking; it was tough at times even in a ticked away corner of the restaurant to hold a conversation. Restroom could probably use a more frequent cleaning but it was good enough. Menu is classic American bar fare for the most part with a few interesting additions like the chicken fajita egg roll (tasty with the addition of a little hot sauce by the way!). We ate an early dinner here on a Thursday night. There were 5 of us and we were seated immediately. They were not busy when we arrived. We were greeted by our server who was phenomenal. He was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We started with their new appetizer the mozzarella sticks. They were excellent and we highly recommend them. We had the French onion soup, cheeseburger, club sandwich, shrimp tacos, and chicken sandwiches. All were delicious. All drinks and water were refilled constantly. Finished our meal with free ice cream for our little one. A fun and relaxed meal with outstanding service. Definitely an upscale experience at a very reasonable price. We will be back. read more
