This is a neighborhood store that's good for a quick grab of items. I don't buy meats from here. But can get juice, water, milk, bread, snacks, like I said quick grab items. There are some restaurant supplies sold here. Also wine/beer. And lottery & Septa passes. Bags are for sale at check out. Service is average. You'll get a friendly cashier or somewhere he didn't feel like working that day. Hit or miss. The store is clean & I never had an issue with purchases or service. Love the huge parking lot! Plenty to choose from from food to alcohol to household supplies. Staff have always been helpful and around when needed. So happy I stumbled upon this supermarket. read more

PJP Marketplace. Is somewhat like a BJ's Wholesale or Sam's Club or Costco, the only difference is you do not need a membership to go with. But the price are alittle bit higher by about 2 to $3 on each item, so when you start averaging it, and you buy a lot of bulk. it might be cheaper just to get the membership at one of those other wholesale places. Because it will pay for itself. And something else that wholesale places like BJ's and Costco has is a gas station and PJP Marketplace does not have one and you can save an average of 10 to $0.15 on each gallon of gas when you go to the wholesale clubs. Something else PJP Marketplace does not have that other wholesale places have is a snack bar.. and wholesale clubs are much bigger then PJP Marketplace. What I have noticed is PJP market place that sell beer and wine which BJ's Sam's and Costco do not, there are signs, on the front windows that they sell the biggest beer selection around, but when you walk in it's really not that much, it's more six packs in the refrigerator and some wine and a few different varieties of beer cases. but not as much as you would say at a beer store. read more

Be very careful when purchasing any food in this store - they constantly have expired products for sale. I complained before and manager thanked me only for it to keep happening. Its ridiculous. I would stop shopping here all together if it wasn't for the fresh rolls. That is all this store has going for them. read more

I have to be honest I don't shop here often. PJP has a similar feel to Costco or Bjs. Considering I have both memberships, I come here for oddities that neither have. They carry similar items both in bulk and not. They do offer wine and beer sales now, that's an advantage but their prices are a bit higher then a beer distributor and state store. I often come here when we're hosting parties and I need my artic splash. At one time you could get an entire crate for $11.00, now with the beverage table it's over $20.00. They offer a nice selection of bulk candy not just candy bars. They have a lot of retro candy I grew up on. They also have a wide variety of party supplies and janitorial stuff. Overall it's a not a bad place to shop. Their prices are a bit higher then the membership stores. It is convenient though to get items you can't normally find elsewhere. Solid 3 stars. read more

I can't understand all the negative reviews about this place. It's just another store where you can buy large items for restaurants and home as well as smaller type items everything from produce to a freezer for your house. There are some great deals and some not so great, just like any other store check the sales paper available at the entrance and then decide for yourself. I have found the store to be clean and the help very nice and helpful. Also they have always had everything I was looking for either for work or home. The neighborhood isn't the greatest but it's not that unsafe either plenty of parking and well lit since there open till 10pm on weekdays . read more

I come here once in a while. I love that this place sells liquor & I don't need a membership to shop. The staff is friendly for the most part. I did have to use the ladies room while I was there but the bathrooms were down & they had a porter potty outside which isn't ideal but they still give you something to use I can't complain too much about that because I've been to other places & they didn't have anything but customers had to go to another store to use one. My Daughter and I came to the Frankford ave PJP and she put in a job application while I stayed with the kids in the car. when she came out, I went in to get the few thinks I needed.As i got to the Cashier, there were 4 or 5 Associates ( and 1 was a Manager) standing around Chit chatting... no problem, I waited like the other people who were now in line. suddenly the conversation got louder as did their laughter, At the Girl- who just put in an app. . the manager say's Well I hope she doesn't hold her breath. she had to be kidding!! We're not gonna hire her". they looked directly at me and said" with her Tattoos and a nose piercing, She won't get in here" and the Manager tore up the app. They hadn't a clue I was her mother, and acted like they were confiding in me. everyone within a 6 ft radius heard them, and all their laughing. That is extremely disrespectful. tattoos,,, Really. If you tore up the application of say... about 20 or more Eagle's players, Famous actors and actresses, You wouldn't have a football team let alone movies or Rap Music. Pink Or lady Gaga?? my real point is , this was not a type of conversation that should have taken place, in front of anyone or for any reason. how Unprofessional is that...... THE WORST GROCERY STORE EVER. every single time, it never fails, the cashier sends someone to go check a price or needs an override at checkout. There is never a smooth checkout at this store. I never felt the need to post about it, however today when I went in, Karen at costumer service, yes costumer service, was the RUDEST woman I have ever encountered in my life. She completely victimized me because I had a question. She legitimately SCREAMED at me multiple times. Costumer service much? She called up the manager in a very hostile tone over the loud speaker who came and did absolutely nothing while she SCREAMED AT ME, in front of him. I just kept thinking to myself "this isn't real" "this can't be happening". Unreal experience I just had here with Karen. I WILL NEVER go to PJP again (unless Karen is fired), which sucks because I usually stop all the time considering it's right around the corner from us. read more

so i'm in here almost every other day, sometimes 2-4 times a day, now there is a spanish chick" whom i myself have witnessed, her do the same thing to others, i take my elderly neighbor food shopping every week at pjp, so i ask the "lady, where is an item she told me, and had told me, now at this point i felt like i was being watched starred at, all because i had a list, keys, ect, so i put they item in my pocket for maybe 20 secs,"for her the tell me i must leave, not to mention embarrassing, i do not need to steal!!!‍ and i said ummmm excuse me, but i'm in here with and elderly lady, for this "spanish women" then lied, said she watched me come in and then proceeds to tell me im alone, so my elderly neighbor questions her, and the women denied everything, that she never did anything, then the tall guy, that works produce, and told him what happend, and said she had no rite doing what she did, "that i was not they only one!!!! that several people have had problems...... smfh fine i will take my business elsewhere.....‍‍ and then man even said i see you here all the time read more

I do most of my shopping at this store. I can do better shopping at one of the other chain grocery stores but this store is convenient and I have never had a problem with service. Until recently. I picked up 2 loaves of bread (wheat). The shelf tag said 2 for $5 on both the white and the wheat. They rang up $3.99 each. I told the cashier about the shelf tag and she sent someone to check it. The young man came back and said it was only the white on sale. I told him about the other tag for wheat bread and he kept repeating that only the white was on sale. He did not offer to double check and the cashier and another person whom I took to be the head cashier or some kind of manager said nothing. They just kept looking at me like I had 2 heads. I opted to not take the bread since no one really wanted to help me and I did not want to hold up the line. If not for this incident I would have given 5 stars. read more
