This is not the Water Wheel you remember and once loved…read more Sunday night we wanted to hear some country music and line dance. We get there and have to pay a cover to get in and had a full pat down just to get in the bar. The woman at the front was super rude for no apparent reason. Once in we realized the bar was full of high schoolers. I guess Sundays is now all ages somehow which is wild cause there were definitely no parents in sight. I was there for 2 hours playing pool and didn't hear one country song. Supposedly there is a strict dress code but you couldn't tell by who showed up. These kids were wearing pajama bottoms and T shirts. There were dudes dancing together during line dancing sessions and there was no two step. We are in California territory for sure. There was some tweaked walking around asking people at the bar to "pitch in" on his little gambling pot online. The staff knew he was there harassing patrons and didn't care. The bartender even thought it was funny. I must have told this guy no 5 times to his little scam. I think the locals know to avoid this place. The security was overkill (minus the dress code) but the bartender was cool and she said to come back on a Saturday. I'll give it a shot and update my review. I miss Water Wheel.

The food is made in a kitchen separate from the bar/ dining area. The food and drinks were REALLLLY good! The drinks have a kick to it, and as a big fan of tiki bars, the drinks here definitely hit the spot. Although it wasn't busy, there was only guy working and serving. It did take a while for our food and drinks to come out, but for being a one man show, I gotta give him credit for handling everything well!

The Lanai is located in the Cravings food court area at The Station shopping center in Eastvale. There is plenty of parking available. We went inside to the Shuck Oyster bar and entered The Lanai from there. It is actually more of a tiki patio than an enclosed tiki bar. However, the tiki décor is great with plenty of bamboo, carved tiki figures, hanging puffer fish, tiki style signs, and many tropical accents. There are overhead fans spaced around in case it is hot outside. We had one round of drinks and several appetizers. The coconut shrimp and lightly battered Shishito peppers were great and the sauces paired well. We have had these appetizers at Stowaway before and they had the same good quality. She ordered the spicy tofu bites. I'm not usually a fan of tofu, but they were surprisingly really good. I had the Adrian's Mistake cocktail which was well balanced and a little on the strong side. She had the Right Of Passage which was good and had a light fruit flavor and you could definitely taste the mango. The one man show Brandon took great care of us. It was slow at this time of day so we got a chance to chat with him quite a bit and service was fast. They have a weekday happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. Although we didn't specifically order off the happy hour menu, three of our items, including both cocktails were part on it. I give it 4.3 stars but rounded up to five stars. I'm sure the ambience is much better in the evening when it more lively and dark outside. They have a good variety of munchies, and the cocktail menu has a good mix of tiki classics and some originals. I don't think there any many tiki bars in this area, so I hope they do well.

As it turned out, the place wasn't busy. A special treat was that a group of bluegrass musicians was jamming as we ate. Apparently they are there every Saturday morning. The ambience is quite dark and moody with wood paneling and minimal lighting that made me use my phone flashlight to read the menu more easily--more of the saloon vibe than a restaurant. But it fit the Western theme. The breakfast menu was pretty varied, the portions were large, and the food was pretty good, though not the best I've had. There was an error in one order, and I'll give the server slack because a group of ten is a lot to handle, but syrup arrived late for the pancakes, and butter and jam had to be requested for the biscuits. One odd thing was that they had no decaf coffee. The family was pleased. Overall, I'd call it a solid but not quite stellar choice for an old-fashioned breakfast in a theme setting.

Brew Haven is definitely the place to be -- they have a wide variety of beers, and for non-beer drinkers, the fact that they carry Budweiser options is a big plus. The girls behind the bar at Brew Haven were really nice and accommodating, great at recommending drinks, and overall provided excellent customer service, which honestly made the experience even better. The only downside was the limited food options. Inside the market, there were really only two choices: a chicken spot and a pizza place. We went with the pizza, and the pizza itself was really good. Unfortunately, the wings were extremely disappointing -- way overcooked and over-seasoned. Pro tip: there's a Wingstop literally right outside in the same parking lot. I'd recommend grabbing pizza inside and walking over to Wingstop if you're craving wings. Parking was very easy, and overall it was a fun night with great drinks, great music, and good vibes. I'd definitely come back -- just hoping to see more food options in the future.

It's rare to find someone who can balance professionalism, personality, and expertise so effortlessly. His service elevated our visit from good to unforgettable. We left not only loving the beer, but appreciating the care and enthusiasm behind it. If you're visiting, definitely hope you get the chance to be served by Cisco. He is true asset to the brewery and a big reason we'll be coming back and we will be sharing our experience with our fave neighbors or better yet to our community at New Haven!
