I went to PK based on the reviews here on Yelp! I selected Larry because I liked the photos others posted. I've been twice so far and love my nails, also love how fast Larry is. After my first appointment I immediately scheduled one two weeks out. I felt like I could have waited three weeks they grew out so nicely and thankfully didn't have any broken ones. Called around to the different shops and they had the cheapest prices. I've come here a couple times before. They now have the prices taped up in the wall. There used to be confusion on what the pricing was. You would call on the phone and then get a different price in the store. This way there is no confusion and the price it set. I love how they do my nails. I'm not there for hours which is nice. They get done in good timing. They take any photo you bring in and do it for you. Also they listen to what shape you want and how short. There is no arguing to what would be best. I got the ombré pink and white with an almond tip. This was the first time I got this shape and I really like it. I've had these on for two weeks and no chips and no lifting. Still on nice and were put on straight. Will keep coming here. I've been coming here for about 7 years. I always go to Larry. I can't speak for the other nail techs (though I know Loui (spelling) is also very popular and good) but when I get my nails done by Larry, they are always flawless. He is fast, efficient, and literally doesn't make mistakes. If you point anything out to him regarding the nails, he will fix it without complaint. They are reasonably priced as well. I've never had a nail pop off (and I usually get very long nails), or break just due to wear and tear. Their nails last very long and I usually go 3 weeks between getting fills. This will now be my go to place if I'm planning on getting a manicure or anything nail related done. I usually don't get acrylic sets, but it was a treat my self type of day so I decided to get my nails done. After perusing IG for a design I liked, I settled on one and hoped that I could get close to the design. Let me say, they hit it out of the park with it. I'll start with the positives: As far as I have seen, the prices are totally fair. I go in for shellac and opt out of the full manicure (because I never like the manicure process), so I only pay $20 before a tip. The full manicure is $30. To get a fill set of acrylic is only $35. They are good. They do such a good job that when I went last time I had them on for almost 3 weeks and they didn't lift at all. My nails under the shellac got caught on things, causing them to break a little under the shellac, but their was zero lifting from their work. That's part of what makes the $20 so worth it. They're often busy, so you know it's a well-liked place. Every time I have gone in, the other people there have been people who have been going for years. I make this assumption based on hearing people say "no, we did that last year" when getting holiday themed nails, and thanking them by name and saying "I'll see you next time!" They seem to have a high return rate. The negatives are more about preference: The staff is not friendly. I had tried coming here a few times before the first time I went and every time I called, they were rude and unwelcoming. I only ended up going here the first time I did because I had a last minute interview and my nails had an old gel manicure that was lifting pretty badly. They are not pleasant when you first come in. The people working there laugh at customers. When I've gone, the person doing my nails typically warms up and is eventually pleasant and friendly, but it's totally uncomfortable up to that point. Also, the first time I went it was more crowded and, honestly, the customers there getting their nails done were also very snooty. So if you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere, I'd highly suggest you go somewhere else. The full shellac manicure seems pricey because it's $30, which implies all of the lotion and cuticle cutting or whatever is another $10. I've never done the full manicure simply because I can't justify paying an extra $10 for that. Especially when I don't really like it in the first place. Being busy is normally a good sign, but there have been times when I have felt rushed because of it. It is concerning when the person doing your nails seems to be focused on finishing quickly to move on since that is usually when things go wrong. Also, I really don't know how clean their tools are. When I go, they all come out of a box that says "clean," but I haven't seen any sterilization anything when in there. This is a decently priced place for good work, which is why I keep going. read more

My family has been coming here forever. Making an appointment is sort of messy, but they are consistent. Close to my house, decent parking behind the salon. I used to just walk-in as most of the techs are good. Often I will make an appointment especially if I want a Saturday or late afternoon. They just updated their stations and pedicure chairs. I made my appointment this morning for ten o'clock right when they opened. Wanted to start my day off right, came in and wasn't too impressed with the interior, it looks just about like any other nail salon, by far not an upscale one though. In my honest opinion I don't really care all too much about the inside as long as the nails are done right. So I came in, they sat me very promptly and got to work. I had made appointment for a shellac manicure and a pedicure. First Peter took off the horrendous acrylics I had already from a different salon. Then when that was over he sat me in the pedi chair and that's when the greatness happened. I was receiving my pedicure and mani at the same time which was really nice. She was SO gentle to my feet and really took her time, and believe me, I came into this joint with nothing less than ogre toes. She really got in there and put in work! And that was the best shellac mani I've ever had. I just didn't get the whole "mani" that I thought came w/the service? No cuticle remover or massage? Anyway the polish looks amazing. This place packed to a full house within 15 minutes of me being here so I would recommend an appointment or coming in early like I did. All in all great joint. read more

I typically make my appointments with Louie, who knows exactly what shape and look I want for my nails and spends a lot of time making sure it looks perfect. However, I have had a positive experience with everyone here. Unlike countless other nail salons I have been to, PK actually takes the time to ensure your nails shape and design are the same on each hand. They will attempt whatever crazy design you ask for and each time I have seen them attempt one, they always turn out just like the picture. I could ramble on forever about how much I love this place but I will just say that if you love nails, try PK. I have had my nails done most often by BB. I have been going to PK nails almost since they opened 7+ years. Peter, Larry, Kevin, Leena, and Kay have done my nails more than once. They do excellent work, beautiful designs and nail art. I am sorry to say, I recently stopped going here for my nails. The atmosphere of the shop has changed. There are times when I know the workers are talking about clients which I find unprofessional. One of the male nail technicians commented on my daughter's weight (she has gained weight due to health issues) and continued until she was in tears because of the body shaming. The cleanliness of the floors and carpet is a concern especially when you are expected to walk barefoot to go from a pedicure to a manicure station. Let me start by expressing my battle with this place. It is very hard to find a nail shop that I can trust and that I can find consistently good work. Coming back to this salon was difficult at first but soon became easier when I found the right person to do my nails. When making my appointment I always go to Kevin. He's the youngest of the bunch. Very quiet and always nice to me (Such a Cutie). When Kevin isn't available I will happily go to Loui. Loui Is very nice and tries to do a good job. I don't mind if they aren't chatty, I have my headphones in most times anyway. Kevin is my all time favorite because he pays attention to detail, and if he doesn't like how a nail looks he will start over or fix it before continuing. He never charges me for a nail replacement, and if I bring him a picture of what I want, he is able to replicate the image. I never leave Kevin feeling unhappy. The 3D designs are impeccable. They do hearts and of course bows. These aren't decals that they glue on either, he and Loui made the 3D designs out of acrylic. I love watching them do that. If you come here its better to make your appointment ahead of time. Give Kevin or Loui a shot. If you want something special, bring a picture. read more

By far the best nails I've had in this area. If you want any sort of acrylic color or glitter this place has it. As well as shallac and pedi mani's. Most places I have been to in WC only understand airbrush and not the powder. I got a pink and white fill except clear instead of the pink and it was $30. A new set is $35 I believe which is pretty cheap in this area. They only take cash or check so be prepared. They do continually check and ask you if you like it.
