As I'm newer in town when making my appointment they said they took my insurance, could fit me in over my lunch hour, and I thought everything would be peachy keen. WRONG-O! I got to the office, gave them my insurance card, filled out the paperwork, and while the receptionist said they would check on my insurance the dental hygienist (Wendy) said I could come back. I looked to the front desk ladies for the A-Ok on their end to go back and they said nothing so I headed back. Early on I realized that this was going to take a lot longer than I expected as Wendy seemed to be off in never-never-land. She was taking forever...alright, I'm just going to say it...sometimes technology makes things harder, more complicated, and more involved than it need to be. Yes, they did have TVs in the ceiling to keep patients entertained, but I wouldn't need to be entertained if she did her job in the efficient and timely matter that she should have! Then the dentist came in and talked to me for like 10 minutes! Cool you might think as most dentists only come in a give a quick OK or we need to see you back in here for this or that, but I couldn't take him seriously as he talked with no conviction I was thinking "Are you REALLY a dentist or just a stunt double?" After the dentist finally stopped talking quietly (to himself it almost seemed) and my time in the office ticked to over an hour, Wendy came back in a said the ladies upfront finally got around to checking on my insurance and it turns out they DON'T take it like they said...or rather didn't say before they let me be seen by their office. At this point I was sooooo frustrated! I talked to the billing person on my way out who gave me a discounted rated because of the misunderstanding and I was livid saying "I would have never come here if I had known you didn't take my insurance. When I called to make my appointment you guys said you took it. I have dental insurance for a reason!" I told them to bill me and now am dealing with the back end of a stupid mistake at the front end. If they had any accountability as a business they would verify a patient's insurance before they are seen. All I can say is DO NOT GO HERE!

I was minding my own business on a sunny Saturday afternoon, when suddenly I felt a small bit of something sharper than a raspberry seed from my smoothie in my mouth. I pulled it out and was horrified to find a piece of my front tooth. I scampered home and began internet searching for cosmetic dentists in South Minneapolis. The first business on the list was Smiles at France. I looked at their website and was immediately certain that they were the sort of place you'd trust to fix your smile teeth based upon their before and after photos. Although it was after hours late Saturday, I called and left a voicemail asking for someone to call me early Monday if possible, as I was available Monday and desperate to fix my tooth. Imagine my surprise when a friendly dentist, Dr. Cook, called me on Sunday--from home! He understood my distress, and instructed me to send him a cell phone photo of my tooth damage, and set up an appointment for me on Monday afternoon. Dr. Cook and his staff were very friendly and kind to me, and best of all, you wouldn't believe what Dr. Cook did for my tooth. It looks so very good that I just can't tell now matter how closely or carefully I look? ANY difference between this tooth and my "real" teeth. Dr. Cook is a kind and generous man, and clearly loves what he does. I learned about my clenching and grinding from him and how it may be affecting my health, and what I can do about it. I left with a smile on my face and a really grateful feeling in my heart that I found Dr. Cook. I recommend him absolutely.

Dr. Norah is a excellent communicator, and this really helps me feel more relaxed. She was very conscientious throughout the procedure and very quick to do things to keep me comfortable (eg suction). Dr Norah is incredibly on top of everything, I trust her completely, and I'd highly recommend her. Also, Dr Norah is also just very likable. She actually talks to you, and treats you like a human being instead of the human-conveyor-belt approach to healthcare that so many doctors engage in now. Additionally, I had a different doctor before with Chicago Fam Dental, and he was great as well. He answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed. The hygiene staff were wonderful both times too. The hygienist made sure to double check my insurance so I didn't have any surprise bills, she was very gentle, and they were very kind each time I've been there. Chicago Family Dental is the best dentist office I've been to in more than a decade. I travel for work, so I'm always changing dentists. I've been to many, many dental practices, and I'll be sad to have to leave this place eventually. They are all gems here!
