One of my favorite places to get Chinese or Thai, and not just because it's right near me. Yes, it's not super fancy, and there's occasionally a language barrier. These guys will bend over backwards to get you what you want. Prices are quite good compared to similar spots, not that there are many this good. Parking can be tough because it shares the lot with a movie theater. But at night the Home Depot is closed, so there's tons more spots just a bit away. Place One is hands-down the best Chinese restaurant in the area, it's like a little piece of Chinatown in Bensalem. Everything is so fresh and delicious, Service is always great, their prices are good, and they have a really great menu. Their Thai food is amazing. With the movie Theater right nearby it's a perfect place for a dinner and a movie date night. My entire family loves it here! read more

If I could give less I would. We ordered takeout after the movie. Not quite sure why they even advertise Thai. I got home with my order and notices a dish was missing. Drove back 15 minutes to pick it up. The food was less than mediocre. The sauce for the dumplings and moo shu was balsamic vinegar based. The pancake for the moo shu was so dried out that nothing could be wrapped. Now onto the ho fun. There was what looked like rotten lettuce mixed in. I love Chinese food and order it often. On the very very rare occasion I get food of Asian nature (aside sushi), this is the place. I am not a huge fan of Chinese at all, so four stars is pretty generous coming from me. I always end up ordering from the Thai section of the menu and I've always been satisfied with it. Generous portions, fair pricing, nice people. The place is clean and the servers are on point. Why should you come to this restaurant . I went on 12/16 with Jack and the meetup crowd. First time. The food ( Chinese for me) was a great quality and prepared very adeptly . The egg roll was greaseless . The hot and sour soup had a wonderful beef broth base. The shrimp with vegetables had large shrimp and many of them and they were cooked the right amount of time. There are so many Chinese take outs in the area, but Place One is my favorite. They are consistent, food is always hot, and orders are correct. Staff is super nice and friendly. I wanted to try something different tonight. I ordered from here around 5:15pm, I wanted to love this place, they had fairly decent reviews. Sadly I didn't get my food until 6:45. So I ordered the vegetable dumplings, they were cooked well, but they were heavy, very thick like a doughy consistency. I also ordered general Tso combination platter. The rice, eh, nothing special. The chicken was very very good. I was shocked, that was a positive about tonight. We also ordered 2 pizza rolls, they were good, typical frozen stuff. The service is so good and I really enjoy their beef salad, shrimp wrapped in noodle and their tom yum goong is the best I've ever had.

Used to be Tom Pan Chinese. Now it's Place One, serving Chinese and Thai. One of my co-workers brought in the menu and we've been very happy ordering out from there, as they do deliver into Philly. Both types of food are good from there. I personally have had the Khao Pad Supparot Pineapple Coconut Fried Rice and though I thought it would have a cream sauce, it wasn't bad. I liked their satay chicken and mini spring rolls better. I also had the Tom Yam Goong soup, which was tasty but a tad too sweet for me. Others say their Pad Thai is excellent, though maybe not as spicy as they thought it would be. Their lunch specials start at $6.25 for the Thai and 5.55 for the Chinese. The Chinese lunch specials come with half pints of soup, usually won ton. Not all of the Thai lunch specials come in Styrofoam packages, the Lar Nard is almost like a soup and came in a quart soup container. My co-worker raved about it, though. Had the dubious pleasure of dining here last night. My friend and I ordered the Generals Tso's chicken and my wife ordered the barbecued ribs. The chicken dish was good if a bit overloaded with rice. According to my wife, you should bring a chainsaw to deal with the ribs. They were tough and didn't have much meat. This has recently become a must have once a week treat for my wife and I, not only are they fast and nice as can be and they have three things that are must try from the Thai menu. The schezuan wontons are just an incredible nutty citrusy but savory treat and the mini spring rolls are incredible with the red dipping sauce (that I need to find out how to make), i've never had the Chinese but the shrimp pad Thai is always consistently delicious and a explosion of flavor! This is a great gem in the neighborhood that not many people know about, especially seeing that I've never liked Thai food before this place. must try! read more

Ordered Pad Thai (chicken), mini Spring Rolls, General Tso's w/fried rice and received an eggroll as well as soup as a free bonus. food is just ok a little pricey for plain food, fried rice was awful had better elsewhere. the sesame chicken w/shimp was awesome. Pack your own left overs dont let them take back to kitchen they might mess it up and put trash(left over shimp tales) slop with you leftovers. I saw good reviews so I thought I try it. The prices is a bit high, a combination platters will run you $10.95 to $11.95 depending on what you get. The platters are small, the containers are shaped differently the a typical Chinese restaurant and they are not very generous with the filling to say the least. There aren't many chinese place within half a mile so I figure I would try Place one couple times. I've had their chicken wings, general tso chicken and pineapple fried rice. Their chicken wings are too breaded for a chinese place and too small in size. General Tso chicken was way too oily and below average in taste. Pineapple fried rice taste like plain white rice with cans pineapple in it. This restaurant is not very authentic at all. Neither are the food Chinese or Thai. Our favorite Chinese takeout spot. There fried rice is actually brown and not an yellow color, which to me is the true sign of decent Chinese food. Sesame chicken is so good, in a thinner breading them most others, making the chicken more prominent and delicious. We have gotten taken out from here a few times. Usually just an assortment of appetizers. Most have been good and reasonably priced. My favorites are the satay and chicken dumplings, both are flavorful and portions ample. The one real miss for us were the mini eggrolls - they just had very little flavor. The general tsos chicken was so mushy that my chopsticks cut through it. The sauce was watery and unflavorful. I was very disappointed because it was so bad I had to throw it away. They have a really great selection of dim sum, and it's all so tasty. The staff is all very friendly. The menu can be a little overwhelming as there are just so many things to try. One of the better chinese/thai places in the area. Ordered take out from here recently. Hostess was extremely friendly and answered any question I had with ease. Food was ready in about 15 min. Ordered the vegetarian general tsos chicken, veg lo mein, fried rice and the green curry. All of it was very good. The general tsos was different but tasted just like chicken but could of been spicer. The prices/portions ratio is pretty on par for what it should be. Had the sweet n sour chicken combo platter (take out). With a side of boneless spare ribs. The chicken was so under cooked, it was just nasty, the spare ribs we're fatty and the flavor was horrible, the only thing I did eat was the eggroll which was good. Awesome food in and out. Inside is quiet and service is fast. Food is great there, but I usually order delivery. I think they make the best BBQ Ribs around. Meaty, a little crunchy, and very moist. The Egg Rolls are awesome too, along with the WonTon Soup. Their Homemade Iced Tea is definitely worth buying as well. Goes well with the food and is healthier than the carbonated soda that people usually associate with Chinese food.
