Had a nail in my tire so I pulled up around 8:30am and waited in the waiting room. Nobody came out so I stuck my head in the service station and this grumpy old man asked what I needed. I said I have a nail in a tire and I was told to park it and come back in 3-4 hours because he's the only one here. I drove down the road to Plainview Auto Care and it was fixed in 5 minutes. Had a blow out on my way to work at about 6:30 am ... this was the only tire shop in range being my tire was blown. I didn't wanna damage the rim so this was it. I was the first one here and patiently waited for the shop to open. A guy drove up in front of me a parked in front of the entrance I didn't pay it any mind until the owner arrived. Wow extremely rude to customers! I arrived at the shop with a damaged tire. I waited outside for a bit. No one came by to ask if i needed assistance so I pulled into the shop and one of the workers, an old skinny white guy with glasses cursed me out telling me to "get the eff out of his shop"! So I backed up right away and asked if that's how he talks to customers?? He said yes, so I told him I didn't need anything from him and I left. As I have reviewed a few of the recent postings, I tend to agree, being rather rude and bad customer service lately. I have been utilizing Plainview Tire & Auto Repair for several years and actually have recommended them in the past since I support local small business, but now I actually regret recommending. To make a long story short, I had purchased 4 major brand tires back in late August of 2023, at a cost of just over $800 dollars, including mounting and balancing, and I asked in the event of any issues, or tire rotation needed, I was told at that time, sure, no problem, just come back anytime. Unfortunately 1 of my tires had developed a small leak from the bead and rim over the course of the late fall months, and now that it got even worse due to the cold weather, I brought my vehicle back in late December 2024, to have it checked and repaired. I was then told, hey, I am only a one man operation, and was told to come back no earlier than January 7, 2025. So I again made a second attempt to have it checked and repaired yesterday. I was then told again, hey, I am only a one man operation, and to come back no earlier than next Wednesday and that I would need to leave the vehicle since he only does repairs during his spare time. I then explained that this is my primary vehicle and unfortunately could not leave the vehicle all day due to wife being disabled. I then asked how I could get the tire checked and repaired sooner and was told that if I was expected that kind of service, then just go to Mavis tire, so that is exactly what I did. read more

Yikes! Needed to get my car towed and ended up here again. Was here once before asking for oil change and new tires, guy tells me "BMW are f-ing pain in the you-know-what". What?! You don't want business? And just now he said again he can't do tire and blew us off. It says "Plainview Tires" on your building! I have dealt with Plainview Tire a few times in the past and they were always fast at a fair price. Found a nail in my tire today and took it over to them. I watched as the technician took great care and removed the nail patched the tire and even checked and filled my other tires. Cost $25, well worth it. read more

I have a screw in my tire so I went over to Plainview Tire which is right by my office. I get there before they open up around 7:15 and wait for 30mins for someone to finally open up. As I walked in the man asked me what I wanted and I told him I need a plug in my tire. He goes on to say that he's way too busy now and he wouldn't be able to plug it for a couple of hours. If you are too busy why were you late? I have been here before for a plug and they helped me right away even during lunch time. I was thinking about getting 4 new tires here and an alignment but they can forget that now. How long would it have taking to plug a tire? 5-10 mins? I guess I bothered the man, I guess he wanted to dive in to his tray of Dunkin Donuts. It's employees like this that can truly destroy a business. read more

I called a couple of times to make an appointment here and was blown off every time. If you're too busy to schedule an appointment, why answer the phone? The guy who answered the final time that I tried to make an appointment even went so far as to immediately cut me off and tell me that I was confused about where I was calling since he saw that my area code wasn't from Long Island...as if no one ever moves to Long Island from a different place. I have no patience for being treated like crap, especially since auto shops are a dime a dozen. Take your business elsewhere. read more
