The following Yelp review is approved by Rose Royce. Pretty good experience on my first visit to Planet Auto Wash. I guess I got the good crew that day because, despite there being a decent-sized line, I was very happy with the end result. I only do the basic wash to my car, not the fancy wax/Rain-X craziness, and added an interior clean. I believe they call that the "Moon Wash" (insert joke here) and it cost $13. The exterior was portion is like a plus-version of your standard gas station wash. A staff member starts with a high-pressure pre-rinse, and then you drive into the was yourself, where you are pushed along a conveyor belt to the end. If you are doing exterior only then that's it, drive it home. If you are doing the interior, you make a sharp left to the next station, where someone will take the car, put it onto another belt while you go inside wand watch them do the interior. The exterior wash is a bit better than the standard gas station wash, and only $1-2 more. The team did a pretty good job on my interior. Granted, my carpet wasn't bad, but they did shake my mats clean and they got the dash and windows pretty good. Not perfect, but not the huge misses or window streaks others mention. Despite the line I was in and out of here in about 20 minutes. Overall, I was happy enough with the service that I'd recommend them and use them again. This was my first time going to such a car wash where you sit in, ride through, get out, get ur dunn! For a newbie the staff was very friendly in stepping me through the process. I actually had a 20% off Yelp coupon (which took $5 off), and I got the Planet Wash. Afterwards my car looked great! everything from the exterior, to interior vacuumed/cleaned. My only minor complaints are that for the exterior dirt/dust spots that the soft cloths didn't wash off during the ride-through, those weren't manually wiped down. Also the window cleaning was smeared a bit, and I could see it once I was out in the direct sunlight. For a quick, good job of overall exterior/interior cleaning I'd definitely return. NOTE: they're not going to remove any serious stains/spots with the ride-through, hand dry option. They assured me their deep detailing would get my vehicle spotless inside/out, but I haven't tried this yet. read more

A family recommended this place so I went ahead and gave them a try on Christmas Eve. The service was quick and polite, however about an hour after I left the place I noticed that my car charger chord was missing! Also I had a couple of Christmas presents unwrapped and they were missing too. I don't know if they just threw them out or just kept them but that was over $100 worth of stuff. I called, left a voicemail and even sent an email. Since it was a holiday I ended up not talking to anyone until about 3 days later but no one had a response for me and when I asked to speak to a manager he was never available. I left my number to get a call back and no one called me back. I called them again and received the same response. I never even got a call from any manager or anything regarding my missing stuff. Went there today for a free car wash. I went ahead and paid 6 dollars extra to get the front and back vacuumed as well as the inside windows cleaned. They tried to remove my antenna and when I told them that I didn't think it came off they shrugged their shoulders and said nothing else. The wash went my antenna luckily it didn't break off. When it was done being washed I drove into their bay for them to finish up. When he pulled my van out he left it running with the drivers side door open but didn't say anything. A few minutes later he motioned that it was done. Got in and the windows hadn't been cleaned you could clearly see it wasn't missed they just didn't do it. I drive back around and said to them the windows were still dirty. Not a very friendly atmosphere either. I don't think I'll go back one being that if my antenna had of broke off I'm sure they would have said they weren't liable. It was so bad I had to clean my own wheels and wipe down the front of my car to get rid of all the bugs left on the hood. Had to wipe down my dash due to all the dust. This is the only car wash I would take my car to in manassas. Their machines have never scratched the paint on any of my cars, their facility seems well-maintained and always clean. I like how much effort they put into cleaning my cars' interior and windows. I'm very picky about having a clear windshield and a clean carpet. I tried this place out because I received a free wash from my dealership. I upgraded my wash so that I could have the interior done as well. I was not at all impressed and wouldn't bring my car back here. I still had quite a few crumbs inside where they didn't vacuum all the way. I have rubber floor mats. Every car wash I have gone to has sprayed the mats down to clean, but this place did not. It didn't even look like they had wiped down the interior. I had to go buy my own armor all wipes to do it myself. I don't expect full detailing, but the other places I have taken my car to will do these things standard. read more

I went there today with a $25 Voucher from Battlefield Ford that was given to me last time I went there for an oil change. Today, I decided to go there and get the car washed as it was pretty dirty and certainly needed it. After talking to the lady at the reception, I paid an additional $10 to have them clean all surfaces, windows etc etc etc if that wasn't covered in the original $25. The outside of the car was ok, the machines did their jobs to clean it up pretty good. Since it was very dirty and certainly the machines didn't get everything I expected them to pay attention to detail and wipe some surfaces a little better. Are you about to tell me that 6 or 7 people jump on top of the car after it comes out of the machine, and you are going to give me the car looking like you saw that it was dirty, wipe it one time and left it that way without ensuring it was actually clean. The inside of the car was alright as well, they didn't pay the attention to detail that I expected them to have. I got a groupon about a year ago for a full detail on my older car. They did good but not outstanding like they were supposed to for a full detail job. I could have done it better myself, I've done it before. As far as the facility goes, very clean, very nice, comfortable seating and all that, however, how about showing that same kind of dedication when it comes to cleaning your customers cars. I got my car detailed here using a Groupon. Great experience, very friendly staff and did a great job on the car. Soonest appoint was about a week after I called. My appointment was at 4 but I dropped my car off at 3. They called me around 6:30 sayin it was ready. I was across town and worried they would close before I got there, they put my car outside and hid the keys which was very helpful for me. They cleaned the car more thoroughly than I expected for the price (i.e. Glovebox & center console). They placed all my crap in a bag (including some loose bills they could have easily taken w/o my knowledge) and wiped/cleaned every surface. Car seats were damp for about 3 days after shampooing so definitely bring a towel to sit on. read more

I would avoid this place at all cost. Came here for the 60.00 hand wash. When My truck came around the Asian guy reved my truck to redline then proceeds to slip my clutch. I see there is still dirt on my truck so I get a rag and start re wiping my truck. Get to the other side and notice 2 big scratches in my passenger door. I ask for the manager and get a rather unpleasant man named Bruce who tells me I should just wash it myself and they didn't scratch it. He stepped to me in a threatening manner several times. The facility is modern, spotless, and comfortable. The equipment is maintained well. The employees are friendly and hard working. Car is clean and detailed, BUT...waited for two hours even though I had an appointment. AND apparently another customer must be wondering where one of their vehicle floor mats are right about now. That's because one of the detailers placed it in my vehicle on top of my other floor mat. They take forever and don't do a thorough job. Horrible job at cleaning floor mats. They actually were in worse shape after they cleaned them. Last time I went they kept my rear floor mat. I didn't realize it until I got home. Total inconvenience in the long run. The manager has no concept of customer service. Complained once and got a "so called" lecture about my attitude. There is way too much competition in this area with this business model for poor customer service. The manager is a horrible representation for this business. Always get my car washed there, I like that its mostly on conveyer belts so it's very efficient and doesn't get backed up. I always get the 25 dollar wash (I forget what they call it moon? Star?) My car is pretty much spotless, it comes with a wipe down of the interior and a vacuum which is really why I go there. I did try to use the discount from yelp but they need it printed. Went there at 4:50, 2 cars already in front of me 3 behind me, the cashier asking what kind of washes we want came and told us that they were close. Yet there are clear signs that say the open till 5 and on their website. She told us to come back tomorrow and when asked why she said the car wash was freezing (but yet they were taking 3 cars I front of us 3 difference is they had already taken payment so they had to) I kindly left, called the manager Manuel, and when I told him my experience his response was "what do you want me to do about it" and I asked if knew what customer service was and he said he didn't think the information was necessary. He processed to chuckle and ask me once for if there was anything else, I asked if I can speak to anyone else perhaps his manager and he said I reached the top. Personally that was the rudest customer experience I have ever had. I was not the only one that question if the car wash was freezing why continue to wash the other cars. They had no definite answer.
