As my 24 hours expired years ago, I've decide to make a commitment to go back to the gym and restart my journey to working out. Back to the gym life again, the training I've had with multiple fitness classes such as lifting weights aka body pump as 24 hours fitness named it, , have gained my confidence in doing it myself. This gym is located near Ross and Big 5 Sporting Goods. Main entrance is on the back of the building. Parking is on the rear too. But since after working out, I still need to buy healthy groceries like vegetables and fish, the market is on the other end of the strip mall, so I just park by the market and walk over instead. read more

friend took me to Planet Fitness since she's a member and showed me around the gym. She used the hydromassage bed, and the staff member was kind enough to let me try it too, along with the massage chair. Both felt amazing! Honestly, I might sign up just for that. The customer service was very friendly, and the gym looked spotless and very well maintained. I also like that it's known as the "Judgement Free Zone," which makes it feel welcoming for everyone. From what I understand, the membership is around $20 a month, which seems like a great value for everything they offer. read more

This location of Planet Fitness is in Alhambra off Valley. The entrance is strangely located in the back. The location is on the smaller side and they were really busy on the Friday evening I came. The locker room was on the smaller side. One of the faucets in the women's restrooms were broken. Speaking of broken, the first treadmill I stepped onto was broken too. I went to a different one and the digital display was distorted. Another machine I went on had the same issue. The cardio machines here also do not have the individual tv screens. The gym has a few large shared screens across the gym. I also feel like they don't have as many cleaning stations as other Planet Fitness locations. Also this location made it complicated to sign up for the black card perks, like my favorite hydromassage. To make it more disappointing, it only allowed for 5 minutes, unlike other locations that allow 10 minutes. When I arrived at the machine it already started before I pressed the button, so the disappointment continues. I would come back if I'm nearby and need to get in a workout, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this location. read more

I've been coming to this planet fitness for a few years now, I would probably rate this 3.5 to 4 stars. The staff are friendly and courteous and they typically fix machines promptly. It's well maintained but it does get incredibly busy during peak hours. It's not the fault of the gym for that therefore I upgraded my review from 3.5 to 4 stars. As of December 29, 2024, they've added a couple of more machines, so now they have 6 smith machines, and a new hack squat, flat chest and incline chest machine, and a calf machine. The lifting workout area is quite cramped and small compared to some other larger planet fitnesses but I guess this does the job in Alhambra. Parking and the entrance js located at the back. Ultimately I come here for convenience, not necessarily to get the best workout. No bench presses, only smith machines. It's planet fitness and it gets the job done. You won't have any power lifting equipment here. read more

Don't let them tell you that you have to go in to the gym to cancel your membership. Assuming you are located in California because you are on this Yelp page, you can cancel your membership online. The contract you sign also says you can cancel by sending a letter (who does that), or by emailing. Code AB-2863 says that you are able to cancel subscription memberships through the same vessel in which you signed up. Even if you signed up in person, you can literally still cancel online. I did a lot of research and digging after the receptionist kept telling me I had to come in. I am college educated (USC as a matter of fact), I know how to do my research and most importantly, I am comprehensive, which I can't say the same for the staff here. Dude on the phone did not want me to speak to manager when I asked if there was someone who would know more about the California codes. His excuse was "the manager is in the bathroom" and "you can't speak to him because I said so." Up until the obvious display of terrible customer service, I have been patient and soft because I am non confrontational. However, this just pissed me off bad. I ended up figuring out how to cancel online and had submitted feedback on how unprofessional my inquiry was handled when calling in to the gym. The manager receives my feedback and calls me like 3 times literally telling me that the cancellation I did online is not valid and that I still have to come in to complete the cancellation process. I literally give this man 4 chances to tell me the truth (which is that I have cancelled my membership and that my cancellation is valid) when I picked up his first call. He tells me that I will still be charged until I come in to the gym to handle things in person. Now, I am a small 24 year old 5'2" Asian girl. I've already experienced hostility from 2 male staff, one being the manager. I am not coming in at all because why would I subject myself to that. Idk how they are trained to save memberships, but this is definitely not the best approach. Anyways, the manager kept blowing up my phone for god knows what reason and I kept hanging up. Out of good faith, I picked up maybe on the 4th call to give him the chance to explain himself and why they wanted me so badly to come in. The first thing he says is that I still need to come in to cancel. LOL. I had the email confirmation of my cancellation. I said if I get charged, I will dispute it and I will take it to BBB. I will admit that by the time I received the 4th call from this man, who clearly has nothing better to do, I decided to waste his time like he felt so comfortable wasting mine. Right when our lines connect, he goes "if you stop talking I can explain why you have to come in." Crazy thing to say considering that I already cancelled my membership, dusted my hands, and put this all behind me. I made it clear that I did not wish to be contacted anymore. I gave my 2 cents in the feedback form for the club and I was actively dodging calls from the manager. This guy seriously can't take a hint and I feel for anyone who has to go through this whether it be at Planet Fitness, or in his personal life. I ended up calling another planet fitness (which I will not disclose, but the manager I spoke to is evidently more educated and professional) and they told me that this is a common occurrence at this location, specifically with this manager. You would think that the ratio of ratings at this place would be a wake up call to the staff to literally pick up a book or attend their mandatory training. I did bring it up to management, but it never got better. I moved out of Alhambra, May 2025 and it never really improved for at least 2 years, since ~2023. If you were to loose your balance you wouldn't reach out and touch the wall to regain your balance, and if you did, you'd most likely my immediately wash that hand. This new layout is cool for sure and the staff has ALWAYS been great but this one star is for one thing, the lighting. Its way to bright in there. Which upper management nuthead decision was to brighten up the interior to blind everyone still beats me. If your trying to elevate the experience and make a gym more like boutique/high end its all about lighting, otherwise might as well be working out in a big lot warehouse. I'm starting to dislike this gym a lot. It would be the primary reason why I quit because I know that the store operators just don't seem to care. For $15/ month (for their basic single gym location membership) plus their annual fee (approx $19.08 a month), I don't know if it's "worth it" anymore. Having been to multiple PF locations, this one is easily one of the more run down locations. (-): lots of broken lockers (-): shower heads are broken/ shower curtains need to be changed With personal and social media experience- I have personally been told to park elsewhere (not the back row of the parking lot) in broad daylight because of their cars being broken into. I also have heard of others complaining their lockers being broken into. Thankfully I never had this experience, but I think they need to increase their security or at least place cameras in the back. Improvements- I used to dislike the music blasting inside the gym but it has gone down. When I reported their shower curtain needing to be changed due to mold, it was eventually changed after a few days. read more

‼‼‼I am a member here, but the parking lot situation is becoming unacceptable. Tonight, a car was parked improperly, sticking out and blocking the main driving lane. When I honked for them to move, the people came outside and started acting aggressive, throwing hand signs and telling me to "keep it pushing" instead of backing up like they should have. I called the police and reported it, and I also called the gym, but I'm really disappointed that there's no security presence or visible cameras in the lot. Honestly, this isn't the first time I've seen cars just parked out there with people smoking or doing shady stuff . And the lighting is dim as hell, which makes it even worse. It does not feel safe, especially at night. Planet Fitness needs to take responsibility and install better lighting and surveillance cameras to protect members. Shower curtains in men's locker go inward into the shower too much. Especially with me being over weight. The seemingly unclean curtains (aided by AC) flow onto me while showering. This is gross. Lots of guys blow snot while showering yet the staff probably doesn't see snot mess because the curtains are dark purple colored. The Temple City location has the curtains at a proper distance away from my body while showering. Since you're remodeling this summer, learn from Temple City's location and stop putting the shower curtains so inward into the shower. Pros: - That price. You waste more money on a single Starbucks trip than a month of Planet Fitness, so nothing to complain here. - Relative cleanliness. I shower here sometimes, and the showers are always clean. Staff does rounds to clean very often. Never any trash on the floor or bathroom. - Enough machines. I rotate around the weight station and there's an adequate number of them. It's almost overwhelmingly treadmills and elliptical, but I don't mind as I go during off peaks hours. - Never had any incidents of people being rude (both staff and gym goers). People are pretty laid back. Cons: - Because of that price, it can be insanely crowded during peak hours (after work). You'll have to wait for machines. Go early mornings or late night, or during the weekend. Hardly anyone here (hyperbole, it's still relatively packed, but there's never any waiting) - Machines sometimes don't get fixed promptly. They will, eventually. But may be longer than you'd like to see. If you don't have to work out during peak hours, I don't see any gym that's a better value than PF for the casual gym goer whose life doesn't revolve around fitness. If you HAVE TO work out during peak hours, and/or fitness is your life, PF may not offer what you're looking for. read more

Not a bad place for a work out! I've seen a lot of places, specifically planet fitnesses, that is usually very dirty, smells like plastic everywhere, and the equipments were just sticky or missing. This place however seems to be built in a large high-ceiling building, like an REI turned into a gym, not at all like the others. Good airflow, good enough air conditioning to cool you down while you're working out. A lot of equipments to choose from, just don't come at a busy time. Parking is ample, directly out front, you can kinda see your car while walking around in the facility. Safe location, public transportation near by, lots of foodstuffs to eat if you're hungry as well. Would definitely come again! The only thing I would recommend is swapping out the carcinogenic sprays for 70% alcohol instead. It's in the air it's on the equipment and we're all skin to surface contact. Defeats the purpose of healthy if you're gonna get cancer in the future... read more

Could you please open a location in the city of Montebello? There's no Planet Fitness locations in Montebello. I have to either travel to Alhambra or Downey which are about 25-30 minutes away depending on traffic. There are lots of LA fitness gyms around Montebello but their pricing is about 2 times more than a black card PF membership. I prefer PF but I'm really considering opening up an La fitness membership because it's so much closer. There's business locations available for lease all around Montebello such as the rite aid that was located in a shopping plaza which closed down this week. Majorly disappointed that this gym doesn't offer even a 1 day free trial during the week, they only offered for the weekend. Weekend only trials are impossible for parents with kids as we only have time when the kids are off at school. All the other gyms in the area are doing free trials any day, so they got my business instead. read more

I enjoyed how clean they were and kept their machines and equipment in great shape. The staff have always been super kind and friendly. I was very happy and sometimes I think of going back. Here were my issues I admit I am not happy with how the gym I super busy with teenagers. I'm all here for people getting into their workouts, but I left because I didn't like that the machines were always being taken up by teenagers who were just there to socialize. I like that the app tells your the crowd meter, but I feel like what's a 2 on the app is more like a 4 because it would get so crazy packed. I would go early in the morning but I work early mornings and most days it was too hot to go after noon. I also wish planet fitness would have closer locations to Monterey park or Montebello because it is a bit of a drive sometimes to get to the gym. # 1/5 Stars - Unsafe and Unacceptable Experience I've been a member of this gym for a few months now, but my experience was absolutely appalling. I was on the treadmill, mid-workout, when a piece of the roof suddenly fell right next to me. I was covered in dust and debris. I'm extremely lucky to have escaped with only eye irritation from the debris, but the shock and trauma are still sinking in. The fact that the gym's management seem pretty nonchalant and not sincerely apologetic. They did offer to call paramedics and I accepted their service. The gym's maintenance and safety standards are clearly subpar, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The machines are covered in caution tape, when it rains the roof leaks and they have buckets everywhere, the restrooms and lockerooms are dirty. It's a serious hazard to members' health and well-being. Unless the gym takes immediate action to address these safety concerns and provides a proper apology and compensation, I will be canceling my membership and sharing my horrific experience with friends, family, and online review platforms. I usually come in very early, before 6am. The workers are nice, and I never have any issue with the condition of the gym or the service from their employees. What is problematic is some members. Just a friendly reminder to wipe your equipment PRIOR to you working out because there is a good chance the person before you didn't. I see this happen all the time, people sweating all over the machines and then just walking away to the next one. It is pretty gross. There are also some members who take ALL the handicap parking, and they do not have a placard. There is so much accessible parking, especially prior to 6am. Pretty damn ridiculous to come to the gym and park illegally because you are too lazy to take a few extra steps. There are several members who go in the morning who are disabled and/or elderly and they cannot park in a space because other inconsiderate folks just don't care enough to park elsewhere. read more

I was a member of Planet Fitness for years. It was great having a gym relatively close to my house that was super affordable and clean. But I had to quit due to having lung sensitivities and the harsh cleaning supplies that they use. On the upside, the gym is clean. Like, obsessively clean. The workers are cleaning morning, noon, and night. It would be terrific if it weren't for the fact that they use extremely harsh commercial chemicals. They literally mop these chemical cleaners around the floors in giant buckets when the gym is at its busiest. If you have asthma or any type of lung sensitivity, do not join this gym. It seemed like they ramped up their cleaning obsession after covid. I would end up in asthma attacks after my workouts, so much that I unfortunately had to ask the staff not to clean while I was there. The main manager that was there was very understanding and accommodating, and encouraged me to log my health issues with the staff and to let them know when I was there, so he actually suggested that I request it. Unfortunately, it got so bad that I physically just couldn't be in that building anymore. Harsh cleaning chemicals like ammonia are a main trigger of my lung problems so it was making my health worse. They required that I come into the gym to cancel my membership, even though I told them it's harmful to my health. Well, the day I canceled, the chemical buildup in the gym was so bad that they had the front doors open to air out the gym because the chemicals were so strong. I was coughing and choking from the fumes as I was canceling my account, which only took 5 minutes. I had to run out of the building after. Do not risk your health by coming to this gym. If you have sensitive lungs it will make them worse. This gym is a cautionary tale of being too clean. If they switched to non harmful cleaning products I would consider coming back but I don't think that would happen. read more

What's up: I see this place all the time on my drive to work. Since it's along the way, it was a convenient place to hit the gym. Parking: The gym is located in The Marketplace. The good thing about this place is that the gym entrance faces south and you don't have to compete with the other business because there's a huge lot in the back. Environment: Upon entry, scan your tag at the front desk. You'll see weight machines to the right and the Black Card Member area to the left. The middle section is full of cardio machines with TVs hanging from the wall. Further down on the left, you'll see the Women's Locker Room, the Men's Locker Room, and more machines. There's a stretching area (with stretching mats) in the back as well as more resistance machines. I like the convenient water fountains that can also fill up your water bottle. They have sanitation stations so you can wipe down the equipment before and after you use it. Due to Covid, some machines have been sectioned off to encourage "Social Fitnessing." What was ordered: There's two different memberships: the Classic ($10/month plus startup fee, no commitment) and the Black Card ($22.99/month plus startup fee, 12 month commitment). Both have an annual fee of $39. Black Card members have perks such as free tanning, use of massage chairs, and free guest privileges. Another cool thing is that you can access any Planet Fitness location; Classic members can only access their home club. I got the Black Card and love it. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. For the low price they offer, this gym meets my needs. From weight machines to the different cardio equipment, it's pretty decent. They used to have a monthly free pizza 1st Monday and free bagel 2nd Tuesday. Due to Covid, that's probably been suspended (but I hope they bring it back!). Their app also has a crowd meter so you can check to see how crowded the place is before going! The staff is friendly and always cleaning to keep the place clean. Today has been my last workout at Planet Fitness. I have canceled my membership as of today. It happened again, someone texting on a machine. Usually, I'm able to kill time by using other machines and if they're still there, my next step is to ask how many reps they have left (universal code for "stop friggin texting and get on with your workout because people are waiting for your machine! ) Most people are reasonable enough. Not this guy today. He told me he has about ten minutes left, while still openly texting. I said, "I guess when you're done texting," and he cynically said "yep" and kept texting away. It had never gotten to the point where I need to report anything to staff (even though fellow gym folk on my page comment on my posts that I should and that they would!). For me, reporting would have been my last card and this was it. When I sought the help of the front desk, they said they can't tell the guy anything because they don't know his program. Such texting breaks could be part of his routine, they said, and their policy is to respect all workout regimes. That opened my eyes-- I can't be part of a place where a guy like him could take advantage of such a policy, and someone like me-- who is there only to work out, and respects everyone's space and time-- has to sit around and take his disrespect and cynicism. How is it that texters have more rights at Planet Fitness than guys who grunt as they drop their weights ( they have signs everywhere that say "no lunks," and they have a "lunk alarm" for such guys if they ever do-- pretty judgmental for a gym that claims to not be judgmental. I have stuck to this gym through their highs and lows because I liked them in general. Even through their summer high school program, when so many others quit, I stayed after doing a personal cost benefit analysis. But today was the last straw for me. Yes, it was nice that they're only $10 a month, and that they're open 24 hours, and that they're at a location that's easy to get to at the times that I like going to the gym. But just because something is convenient, it doesn't mean that I have to put up with policies that don't align with my vision and values. There will always be bad gym goers anywhere you go, but when the policies allow it, it's time to reevaluate your gym choices. Needless to say, I am in the market for a new gym. Open to suggestions! I prefer something that's open 24 hours, but not necessary if they open early enough. But regardless of where I go, after trying out their free pass, when their employees are after me like vultures, promising me the stars trying to get a sale-- I will HAVE TO make sure I interview them on their texting policy. I am obviously a huge texter and can read full novels and write entire essays while doing cardio. But I want to know what's their policy if someone hogs a machine for too long and most of their time is spent texting. Do they have enforceable policies against that, or is texting now part of every gym's workout routine?! If not, stuff it, I'll just stick to jogging and calisthenics from the sweet comfort of my home. read more

I enjoy working out at this gym. It's clean and effervescent. The staff are hardworking individuals and they are attentive to concerns regarding broken sh*t. Let's be clear the human workers are paid slave wages and the boss is a cheap tyrant! For example, Once a month there is a flash flood tsunami in the women's locker room. Two men with crossed arms stand guard outside the entrance to said locker room and deny all women members entry. Women are not allowed to use the restrooms. Not allowed to retrieve personal property in the lockers. Just stand outside and wait until you pee yourself! And hold that BM GDI. So unsanitary and completely dictatorship! Human rights violations! Good Lord! Women are being forced to just stand around befuddled and angry because they cannot gain access to the women's lockdown locked out chamber! My f**king word! My rights are being violated! All because the Cheap ass dick wad Owner in Chief of this gym refuses to call a plumber. Instead, staff mops up the tidal wave with a water sucker vacuum. I also implore you to not walk by the mens locker room in the morning/ afternoon hours because it smells like stanky poop. The men's locker room is never guarded by the purple staff. The men are not forced out of their toilets and their belongings just the women. I'm guessing that a real plumber and not an AI plumber is working on the water lakes eruptions. And why are there four tv's on the Telemundo channel? That channel only shows bimbo men and women gossiping about celebrities. Why did the CNN channel move to the end of the tv order? CNN was tv 3 now it is way at the end of the tv lineup on channel 12. Where it pretty much went to hell. I can't see CNN but unfortunately I can see the Bimbo Spanish channel on not 2 tv's but four tv's!! What is PF saying? Bimbos are more important than some form of news? And don't get me started on why the freeform/ Disney channel was replaced with the Home Improvement Channel? Another show that one hopes gets cancelled. WTF dude?!! Get your tv's in order and sanitize the men's locker room! Maybe hang a few car trees. And for F**k's sake call a real live plumber to fix the f**king pipes in the Women's Locker Room! The gym in general is fine. I've had a few experiences where the staff has been very unhelpful when asked questions. Im paying for the black card where I'm allowed to use the massage chairs. I had never used them before and was excited to figure out what they offered. When I asked a worker about this and expressed my confusion and asked if they could show me.... They just point to the back and said massage chairs were that way and to go look at them by myself and figure out what I wanted, then come back and let them know. As they went back to gossip with other coworkers while I was lost and confused. I get anxiety going to gyms and really thought the staff would be more helpful and show me what perks the black card got instead of just brushing me off. I left and told them nevermind about the massage chairs because I was confused on which was which and they just said ok... and went back to chit chat.. that was the perfect opportunity to be like, "oh you're confused, let me show you and explain". Took my mat when I respectfully said "excuse me I'm using that" and made me chase him to get my mat and ignored me the whole time even when approached did not respond or say anything and just started vacuuming right around me. I have never been treated so disrespectfully here. For a paying customer to feel like that is not right. I hope they fix this issue. read more

The only reason I go to this gym is because it is the most convenient for me. There's enough equipment and machines to get in a good workout as long as you don't come during prime time (Mon-Thurs between 6pm-9pm are the most crowded times based on my experience). This gym is pretty dead on Fridays and the weekends, except in the month of January and February. If you can only come during these busy hours, then you're better off somewhere else. This place has all of the basics. It's a decent gym for beginners, but if you're more advanced and enjoy using more unique gym equipment, then this is not the place. Sometimes there are broken machines, but they will eventually get fixed. The staff do a pretty good job at keeping the facility and the locker rooms clean. Most people don't even use the lockers and are good about wiping down the equipment after using it. The worst I've seen here is gum stuck to the machines. It's not a very big gym and the locker room is quite small. They are almost always doing the "$1 down payment" promotion and the monthly fee is $10, so you shouldn't be expecting much from here. I come here during late hours, usually between 12am-4am. It's pretty chill at that time because it's relatively empty and I can consistently get a good full-body workout with all the freely available equipment. Staff is courteous and friendly as well. read more
