Since this place is the only reason I can claim to have some semblance of sanity (okay, okay, take…read moreit easy)... it's time to not only bump up the star rating but also mention some changes/updates. I moved out A2-way during the earlier days of COVID last year and needed a place to exercise. Remembered enjoying Wolverine Strength and Conditioning several years back and decided to give it a go. At that time, they were doing outdoor workouts, which was a big bonus! Plus, there were a lot of really great people both training and being trained. It was the most social thing that I was doing at the time - so not only did I improve my health by exercising regularly again, I also improved my health by having a social connectedness that was lacking in so many other areas of life. After the summer months, we headed inside. They made nice little "parking spots" with all the equipment separated out so that you had your own space. Of course they required face masks, per state regulations. But they also took extra precautions by giving us cleaning towels and products to wipe down the equipment after every use. They also had us go to the common areas in groups to keep contact down. Now that the weather is turning nice, they have told us that we will be going outside periodically again. It's SOOOO great of them to do that since it really is hard on the equipment, plus it's labor intensive. I honestly can't say enough good things about this gym. If you're looking to get your health in check (especially since we know that health is SO IMPORTANT when it comes to infectious disease) - definitely check this place out. You can drop in for free (one session), and then the $160/month is for month-to-month without an annual commitment. It's like getting a personal trainer - but for a LOT less! I cannot believe the changes I've seen in my body in less than a year... and how much more agile and good I feel. For the record, I'm 47 years old and feel better than I think I've ever felt. I may have gray hair... but I wouldn't mess with me if I were you! ;) Haha.

I've only been working out with her for the past 8 weeks and just had my measurements retaken. "Wow" is the only word that fits. There is NO WAY I could have achieved these results on my own. Sarah's workouts are intense for sure, but I would characterize her style as supportive and encouraging. My only regret is that I waited so long to begin working with Sarah.

My Review for PR Fitness is based on five group runs with them I participated in while training for…read moremy first marathon this Fall. PR Fitness is a spin-off of Running Fit's 501 Runner's group, and is intended to help endurance athletes train for Personal Records in triathlons, marathons, etc. PR Fitness' current group run business model is that all runs are free and on a drop-in basis, making it a wonderful and cheap way to enjoy distance running in a group setting. The founders are very open and communicative, offering training advice on the runs. They also offer paid training consultation sessions. Longer runs are generally mapped out with rest stations (water, gatorade), every couple of miles; runners set their own pace at whatever rate they're comfortable with. The Saturday morning sessions are well organized and offer a convenient venue to long distance train in a group setting. The weekday runs occur after 6, and are shorter in distance. Overall, PR Fitness has gotten off to a great start, developing a set of followers passionate about fitness and record setting, while still maintaining a Beginner Friendly vibe.

That means there's parking. And it's even free. - The people that work here are awesome. They are friendly and knowledgeable. - The pricing structure is spectacular. You pay $68/month. This gives you access to the gym from 6a-9p every day (yes, every day). You can cancel at any time (YESSS!!! I love them for this. I hate those gym contracts. So so much. I always feel like I'm getting scammed or talked into stuff I don't want or need too. Not here!!!) - The equipment is the shit. They have everything in there that I could want. I did enjoy doing crossfit when I did it... it was fun. But it was just too hard on my body. Regular gyms don't contain much of the crossfit stuffs (slam balls, wall balls, rubber bands, free bars with the big weights, hex bars, kettle bells, and more). This place fixes that by providing all this cool stuff, w/o the cost or crossfit workout. LOVE. They also have the rowing machines that I like to use and I'm excited to spend a little time getting into shape using them. :) - The "Lunch Hour Energizer" class put on by Jeff is perfect. Thirty minutes long, great variety, personal attention. I generally am not a class person, but this is more like group personal training. It's awesome, and I highly suggest you give it a try. What needs just a little TLC: - The website is hard to follow. It's hard to know the hours, what's actually included in the prices, and what the class schedule is. Their website doesn't need to have so much instagram on it, as it distracts from what they have to offer and what I'm there to do - see what the place is about. They should also have a link to their fb page on their main site. I had to go to fb and manually type it in. Okay, okay... first world problems. :) In a nutshell, this is my new favorite gym. I've been a member of a LOT of gyms. Have lived all over the world and visited gyms in other countries. So the fact that it's my favorite is saying a lot. Of course, personal preference on what you're looking for in a gym will alter your wants/needs. If you want a sauna and hot tub... well then, this isn't it. If you like classes there are tons of them. It's so convenient for me since I live by Woodbury Gardens nearby. I get a 15% discount as a resident of Woodbury Gardens and pay on a quarterly basis so get another discount. It's a little less than $40/month for the basic membership with 3 classes a week for me. I think month to month without discount it's around $50. Another reason why it's great - 3N1 is a locally owned business, not a chain. Co owners Eddie and Bonnye are there every day working the front desk, leading classes, and doing personal training. Feels good to know your money is staying in the community.

That being said, AFS is so different and so much better! Their trainers are highly qualified, supportive, knowledgeable in every aspect of the body. They are there to help you reconnect your mind to your body. The gym members are regular people that have an interest and investing in a better lifetime with the body they have. You make an appointment and you follow the process so they get to know what your goals are for you. I truly know if you take this step to invest in yourself you will not regret it and will see results and like everything in life it's hard in the beginning but eventually it becomes a way of life with great health mentally and physically. Many people are jumping around in an enclosed space for an hour, Generating heat. It is also very dangerous if people overheat in this setting. I have a Masters degree in Physical Therapy and unfortunately have seen the dangers of overheating during exercise. For the last few weeks, this room has been dangerously hot and management refuses to address it. They do not care about endangering our health, but are happy to take our money. Most of us join the gym and pay a good amount just for the Zumba classes. If you are in the market to find a gym, I would not choose this one.
