This is the most unprofessional establishment in the gym world I have experienced. I have a corporate group that was looking to obtain membership ( it would have included about 55) members. Myself and two colleagues visit to get the overall experience we signed up for the basic package. During our visit the staff was unfriendly in greeting the clients , involved with their own personal matters like talking on their cell phones and the biggest insult was two of the employees were eating their lunch at the counters with food in their mouths and not washing their hands when clients checked in . I spoke with corporate office and they ensured me that I would hear back from they owner ....well that was two weeks ago . Good luck with that . If you want to see the video just ask ! read more

Last week, I would have rated this gym 5 Stars, but not today. On Thursday, at about 3:45, I locked my belongings in a locker with a sturdy padlock. About an hour later I returned to find the padlock gone along with all the cash in my wallet. Six people had this happen to them. The thieves cut the locks with a bolt cutter, tossed the busted locks on top of the lockers and stole cash and, in one case, car keys. They took the car keys to the parking lot, used the fob to locate the car, unlocked it, rummaged through it, stole cash and tossed the keys in the car. Three of us filed police reports. According to the staff, this isn't the first time this has happened. They took our names, provided a list of people who were in the gym when it happened to the police and were sympathetic, but also clear that Planet Fitness takes no responsibility. I understand that they're not responsible for lost or stolen items, but it seems to me they're responsible for 1) letting members know this kind of thing is going on, 2) keeping an eye on who's coming and going WITH BOLT CUTTERS and 3) doing something to prevent this kind of thing. I stopped in the next day and the guy working the desk wasn't even aware of what had happened, so how could he be on the look-out? The people working there are great. I've been a member for a long time and have been satisfied. This is a management problem. read more

Can not cancel unless you go in to the store you signed up with. I had something happen and wasn't able to go into the store. I tried emailing and calling. I even stopped by another planet fitness that called them and told them I was in the store, and they would not cancel the membership. I literally only ever went to the actual club one time. Worst customer service! Stay away! It's still a battle. 2+ months later. I will never go to Planet Fitness again and definitely not the Aurora one! UPDATE: Still no positive progress. I contacted the email address below as they requested. They basically told me the same thing I had already done and that they could not help with billing. So basically, if you are looking for a gym that is current with the year 2023 or beyond, I do not recommend this gym if you think you ever might want to cancel. You have to physically go to the exact same gym (not another Planet Fitness anywhere else) or send a certified letter. They will not work with you - even in extenuating circumstances and will charge continuously. Good luck. read more

I came here as a guest and had a great time! My friend has the Black Card membership ($22/month) and it comes with great perks like unlimited guest passes and use of massage chair. That means he can bring anyone to the gym with him when he goes. Great for couples or roommates that work out together. The caveat is that only the person with the membership has access to the massage chairs and the extra perks. If you're not into all that, then a basic membership costs only $10/month. The person that checked me in was really nice and informative about the gym. He even let me try the massage chair and it was awesome! There were tons of machines and they were clean and in good condition. They also have free pizzas on the first Monday of each month. The new treadmills are defective- as a person who runs almost everyday, and pretty much the same speed and duration for maybe over 10 years- every time I go to this particular location, ever since they remodeled, I maybe can do 30% on those things compared to what I normally do- I honestly do not know how this is possible! All other equipment is fine, I just need them to bring the old treadmills back- I don't want to go to this location because I usually like to get a run in along with my lifting. read more

I inquired about these fraudulent charges and "Planet Fitness" is doing the run around on this. I was even charged MULTIPLE times after cancelling my membership! Their company has done nothing but treat this situation as if it were my bank's problem, which it absolutely is not. These people are committing a crime and I will be getting my lawyer involved to file a class action law suit for fraud/theft. First time back here since Covid. I went to a location in Chicago on Sunday and was very impressed. 100% of the people in the gym were wearing masks, staying spread out and wiping down equipment before and after use. They actually had enough sanitizing spray bottles for every single person to have their own while working out to help keep everything clean and after your workout, you just dump the entire bottle into a bucket of cleaning solution so it could be sanitized. There were also additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the gym. Definitely taking health and cleanliness seriously. Today I went to this location on Lake Street, which is close to my job and was my main gym prior to Covid. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to put as much emphasis on safety because only about 1/3 of the people working out actually had masks and most weren't wiping down equipment and the staff didn't seem to care. Sorry to say but I won't be back to this location any time soon. If health and cleanliness is important to you, especially now, I'd look for another place to work out. read more

I want to give planet fitness in Aurora on Lake Street two thumbs up! This gym follows CDC guidelines and requires masks 100% Of the time when in the facility and working out on the machines, unlike its neighbor planet fitness in Montgomery Illinois. Planet fitness in Aurora also has the locker rooms closed (lockers) and showers closed. It allows members to use the bathroom and changing rooms only. Planet fitness in Montgomery is like the wild west, the staff does not monitor members and does not require masks when exercising. Stay away from planet fitness in Montgomery, feel confident and safe to work out at planet fitness in Aurora on Lake Street. read more

DO NOT BE A MEMBER AT THIS LOCATION. I was a previous member and cancelled my membership. My company offered a reimbursement plan, so I decided to sign up again, but used a different payment option. But, for some reason, Planet Fitness decided to draw my monthly fees from my old CLOSED ACCOUNT. They then charged me a late fee of $25.00. When I went in to find out what the problem was, the manager was very helpful in figuring it out (but only after I had been in there 3 times). He then stated that he would send a request to refund me my money, and it's been 6 months, and NO REFUND!!!! Plus, I've been in there another 3 times asking where my refund is...still, no refund. All I can say is the Planet Fitness of downtown Aurora aka Northgate shopping center is the best gym ever... The staff is friendly, the owners are awesome... Their 15 minute circuit area for the abs IS awesome, the 30 minute circuit area is great, the stretching area I love love love, it has user-friendly machines...The HYDRO MASSAGING BEDS omg!!! Are for those ppl that need a full deep tissue massage on your back, legs, head. The environment is like "you go and feel like a stranger, you come out feeling that you're part of the awesome Planet Fitness family". This gym is a great place to workout and leave. The locker room is small, but the workout area is vast, with a massive amount of cardio and weight equipment. Its open 24/7 and is about a mile from home, which I love. This is my new gym. read more

I visited this location in hopes of finding a new facility to workout and was surprised that unlike other gyms they don't offer one day guess passes. Since I was already considering adding the black card membership so I have a secondary gym for when I travel I felt this one would be a good fit. Surprisingly(or not so) they want your checking account and routing number even though I was previously told only a credit card was required. Furthermore, when asking about their cancellation policy I was told you can only cancel by coming in person on the 10th of each month. It seems like not only does this place want to force you into a membership without even offering a tour but also make it extremely difficult to cancel if you don't like the gym. Maybe it is just how this location is ran but if you sign up or provide them you account numbers you might want to watch for suspicious charges. read more

Went to the front desk and told the girl it was my first time there. She gave me my card and free t shirt. And said Thankyou. Love the staff, great people. However after being there for 2 years now, it's starting to get really crowded whenever I have the time to go. I've tried switching from 5pm to 8pm and it still seems like I can't get in the exact workout I'm looking to get. There are a lot of people that sit on equipment and play with their phones way too long with no regard for others. Is it the duty of the staff to regulate things like this? I don't know, but I'm thinking about going somewhere else unfortunately. read more

I appreciate the facility, but after a year of membership am considering a change. The poster campaign on the walls agains "lug heads" seems to work wonderfully. I've not heard or seen anything like described. But there is a problem that has become epidemic: Media Addicts. These are people who sit on a machine bench for 10 minutes texting or scrolling through FaceBook and SnapChats. They then do 2 or 3 reps, pick up their phone and scroll for another 10 minutes. This is particularly a problem in the timed-workout zones, like the 30 Minute Full Body Workout room. I like to do this routine and be in and out in about 40 minutes, but I often find it impossible to complete because of people who sit on one machine for the full 30 minutes, headphones inserted and oblivious to the directions posted on the wall or other customers trying to follow them. I have mentioned this issue to the front desk several times, but the kids who work there just shrug and frown. Perhaps a poster campaign like your "lug head" warnings would help. Sorry to display this frustration. I've worked at resolving it in person for a year. Maybe posting it to Yelp will help. read more

It was nice when it first opened, but right when you walk in you can smell the BO. This place needs cleaning and sanitization. The lockers rooms smell really bad as well. The machines are pretty good for being a beginners workout building. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Not a bad array of equipment for beginners, can't complain about the price... but, the weights are never in the right place at this location, workers walk right past things (when they aren't just standing behind the front desk) and just let them stay where they are, there's always some jerk trying to hog three machines at once, the music is wack, and for a gym that is "judgement free"...how about removing the shower doors and putting up some solid curtains? Judgement free? How can you be judgement free when the showers are completely demoralizing!?! read more

Place has plenty of equipment and decent free wghts.Facility is fairly clean and staff is friendly but if you like the free wghts be prepared to wait.Every time I've been there people have taken dumbells and walked off with them for extended periods of time.Last time I was there a person was sitting on a bench press rack with 4 sets of dumbells 25-40#s around him along with 2 individual dumbells.It was like that for almost 2 hours while the other 6 or seven people in the free wghts area were trying to share what was left.It would be nice to beef up the free wghts to compliment all the machines or monitor this better...Thanks. read more

Planet fitness is a great place to work out, lots of machines to choose from, both cardio and weights. People are there to workout, not a lot of socializing going on, which I love. You can't beat the $10.00 a month fee, for what you get, it's an awesome deal. read more

Really unorganized. It was my home location and there was a mess up on billing. I was informed, by the workers at this location, that if the first form of billing doesn't go through it will go through the second form of billing. Otherwise, why have a second form of payment?? No solution, the assistant manager told me it was an automatic system and that it didn't go through. Even said it was probably something at the bank. Anyways he couldn't give me anything beyond that. It is also an inconvenience for me to go to my location today and they were not able to find a solution. Management at this location is garbage. read more

I decided to cancel my membership due to the horrible attitudes from the Manager and her silly little assistant manager during my last visit. The Manager seemed to have a very nasty attitude for no reason when l asked her questions regarding bringing a friend in to try out there gym. Her attitude seemed to get worst when l went to verify some more membership questions/information for my friend before he comes with me during my next visit which never happened!! My advice to a MANAGER AND ASSIST" Brianca or Brianna or whatever" NEVER ACT UNPROFESSIONAL, NASTY RUDE TOWARDS A CUSTOMERS WHO'S PAYING YOUR BILLS AND NEVER ACT LIKE YOU'RE DOING MEMBERS A FAVOR. I live just three blocks from this facility and decided to give it a shot because of the convenient location, 24 hour operating time and allegedly good pricing. Whenever signing up for a fitness center in the past, I was strongly encouraged by the customer service staff to try out the facility for a day and see if it is right for you. Upon inquiring about a test day to see if the center has proper workout equipment, locker room setup and hygiene standard (aka towels, equipment cleanliness, locker room health etc), I was told they do NOT offer a tryout day but "you can purchase a day pass for $20!" If you are worried about the vast Tourism crowd using your facilities as non residents for a day only to leave, THEN ASK FOR AN ID, and you will see that you are offering good customer service to you community and NOT giving them the "rough membership sell" will pay dividends in the long haul. Everyone knows you are not counting on a profit of $20 per day for your regulars. I hope they get some solid feedback and take action to include the right members, last thing you want is for members to feel that you are not looking out for them from day one, then the atmosphere suffers. first let me say i was excited to get started its not easy for me to stay motivated and do this fitness stuff I am fighting a demon multiple sclerosis well I got into a routine for a couple of weeks worked out on a whole row of equipment and was proud of my self but the damn place is too cold like a meat locker well the whole purpose of working out is to sweat out all those impurities but I almost got the pneumonia and had to go to my doctor for antibiotics to git rid of it here I am already fighting for my life to keep my mobility and I almost ended up in the hospital I was so mad because when I brought it to the attention of the manager he did not care looked at me like I was a idiot and did not want to refund me my money and end my contract only after bickering for half an hour he finally refunded my money and ended the contract he said they had to have the AC on because of the amount of people in the gym that's B.S. because I went to another gym and they just operate large fans to keep the place cool oh this was at the montgomery illinois location on douglas road read more
