The good: Great instructors and welcoming atmosphere in classes! Lots of equipment and cafe/salon services are great! The not so good: front desk staff is not friendly to most. Especially one lady with short hair who is always chatting with younger staff and barely looks up to check people in. other's area lifetimes greet you warmly when you enter but most of the desk staff is preoccupied here. Gym desperately needs cleaning- cleaning is done by internal staff. Mats are dirty and never see anyone wiping down weights or mats / although they have spray and towels for guests to use. Restrooms are dirty and need a deep clean and improvements -( behind the stall doors- need to be cleaned)! This location is 20+ years old and lots of newer clubs going in and send this one is being neglected. Speakers in the main group fitness room only work on one side and cut out in the middle of routines. Classes were great but they keep changing formats and if there are less than 12-15 in a class they cut the class. For the price being paid they should hold class even if 5 people sign up. So many trainers around for a fee but classes seem to be getting limited compared to the newer gyms. Still going due to location but it needs some love! read more

I just wish they would have done something with the climbing space. I have no idea why it took me so long to join this place. Every gym I've belonged to previously now seems so ratchet. LA Fitness. Nope. Planet Fitness. Stop. No. I've made great progress with body recomposition with the help of my personal trainer, KP. She pushes me to lift heavier and heavier when I'd never push myself to that degree when doing it alone. The newly remodeled facilities are so huge with every bell and whistle you can imagine. Yoga, spin, pools, a cafe, a spa, and a sports chiropractor on site. There's a massive rock climbing area. Pickle ball courts, barre classes. Tons and tons and tons of up-to-date equipment. And then there's the locker rooms. Towel service + everything you need besides toothbrushes/toothpaste. I love having blow dry stations and complimentary products in the showers, including shaving cream. There are makeup wipes and even free razors. Plus a lounge area with nice furniture and a TV in the locker room All for $149 a month. I'm going to live here. There's no reason to go home. Besides sleep. read more

I have the family membership and there are a lot of things offered for my two kids to enjoy. They enjoy going to the Kids Center while I am working out. They complete art projects, play basketball, and even go rock climbing (sign-up required). I have always liked the amount of cardio and weight equipment LTF offers. I found it to be oftentimes clean and available or without having to wait. There was a period of time where it seemed like several machines, treadmills, etc. were down at once, but that seems to have gotten better lately. I would say the main reason for my hesitation in rating 5 stars is the lack of gym etiquette on the part of some members and, more notably, the lack of etiquette ENFORCEMENT on the part of the LTF staff (cell phone use, loud phone conversations, etc.) You definitely can't beat the hours and the cafe is a great place to grab a snack or a drink on your way out. Privacy is not enforced here. On more than one occasion someone is filming in classes without consent. I mentioned it to the Zumba instructor one Saturday after class and I thought this would be addressed. I think her name was Abby or Gaby. I also let staff know. No good. Went again and someone in the same class was filming again the next time. This is so unsafe. People go to dance and workout, not end up in some video online. If you want to film yourself go to the back of the class and put the camera in front of you. The gym is in terrible condition and absolutely not worth the $160 per month they charge. Equipment is constantly broken, and there's little to no gym etiquette--members rarely rerack their weights, and when they do, it's disorganized chaos. The bathrooms and steam room are downright disgusting, with visible mold throughout. The basketball court is practically unusable due to an ongoing HVAC leak that management refuses to fix. When the court is available the floor is dirty not only with dust but literal trash. To make matters worse, the gym's priorities seem completely skewed. Instead of addressing these issues, they focus on selling overpriced classes and personal training sessions, piling extra costs on top of an already expensive membership. I scheduled a 3:00 PM "tour" on the website. Arrived at 2:45 PM and checked in. Not great, but fine I'm early. At 3:09 PM went to the front desk to ask about our tour. I was told the two people checking people in were very busy and when they had time they'd get to it. I told them about my appointment and asked if I could just walk around. The answer was no. Told the other guy we were leaving and he said we could walk ourselves around. Too little too late. Terrible experience. I tried entering on a one day pass and they wouldn't let me in. I told them I can pay for a one day pass and they still wouldn't let me in. I went to the lifetime in Warrenville with my friend. We were greated by Lety who works at the front desk. She has an amazing personality. She is very outgoing. She made sure my friend and I received a warm welcome and she just had this brilliant smile. Again amazing personality. You could tell she loved her job. I also noticed how nice she was to every single customer after checking me and my friend in. What a great way to how Lety display her care for her members ! Regarding the rate increase, that appears to be two times in less than 1 year period. It is completely unreasonable and inconsiderate to have a fee increase of that magnitude. To go from $79 to $89 to $94 in less than a year, over 20% increase. Obviously, the members of this club are being punished for mismanagement of the company since the last quarter loss was huge. I have been a member since 2003 and never seen such an increase in my years, it appears loyalty to the members does not exist. This review is about the customer service myself and my guest received yesterday (6/18/22) upon coming into your facility. My guest just recently moved here from Elmhurst and was a member at the Oakbrook Lifetime along with her husband. She wanted to come and see this particular location since it is closer to where she lives now. We planned on working out and using the pool. When I said I had a guest, the woman up from named Kathy (middle aged short hair tan) seemed annoyed as soon as I said this. She took us around to the other side of the desk to fill out the information and asked if we were planning on using the pool. I said yes and she said it was a $30 charge to bring a guest. I said that I was told over the phone that I could bring a guest for free once and if wanted to come again we would then be charged $30. Her demeanor was so rude, blinking her eyes fast and taking down to me saying "well you were misinformed", like it was my fault? I don't care about paying the $30, it's how rude unfriendly, unprofessional , and also embarrassing for your establishment. I paid the $30, that was not the problem. I don't understand how someone that is supposed to be a professional and represent your company could talk so rudely and act as if we were just being an annoyance to her. She never smiled, never said "oh well I'm sorry that's not right", just attitude and bitterness through our whole experience. Just wanted to bring this to your attention because she deterred my guest from even thinking twice about joining this Lifetime, and I was honestly taken back because everyone I always come in contact with here are so friendly and nice. First impressions have a lot of impact, and to have someone like that working your front desk is so disappointing. I honestly hope I never have to have contact with her again. I love Lifetime! It's a great place to get a healthy bite to eat, enjoy a nice swim or lounge at the bistro area. The gym equipment itself is top of the line with so many different machines and stations. This one of those few places in Chicago land that have squash courts although it's hard sometimes to get one because it gets busy especially after 5 pm. Very spacious and bright club and so much to offer with the numerous amount of classes, including Yoga, Spin Classes, and many other group exercise workshops. The female supervisor in the aquatics department is quite terrible. She has a really bad attitude towards parents, and it's really difficult to coordinate with her regarding the kids' class timings. We have had such a bad experience here this summer. For some reason the pools are very understaffed and they never have the waterslides on. Frankly, the pool is OK for young kids but if your kids are over the age of eight, they will not find the indoor or outdoor pool very exciting, especially since they never turn on the slides. I also find that the hours for the Rockwall are low. And in the summer, forget about it. If your kid isnt enrolled in camp, good luck getting into the Rockwall. I had such high hopes for this club but just had to cancel because there are better options out there for my family! read more

I want to love this gym but I'm very close to cancelling my membership. Yes they have a lot to offer, but today was the last straw for me. - impossible to find parking for the last 2 months. Today I drove around for almost 10 minutes trying to find parking and ended up parking behind the gym near the dumpsters. - got to my favorite kickboxing class 5 minutes early to find it was so overcrowded I could barely walk in the door. I'd guess there were 250 people in the room and it was probably a fire hazard. No one would move and there wasn't really any space left anyway, so I wasn't able to do the class. - got on an elliptical machines by the row of tv's where the shows are pre-programmed and you can't change the channels - there was a show on TNT that showed the graphic murder of a mother in front of her young child. It was 10:30 am. Really? As if I want to watch something so disturbing while I work out in the morning. Probably going to join Signature Fitness. read more

This gym is becoming a very inconvenient investment. It's pretty up there in price which isn't the problem. The problem is they keep certain equipment from members. Member here pay a very big price for accommodations that you won't find at other gyms but not providing bands and jump ropes to member when they ask for them is ridiculous. They keep them at the desk. I just asked an employee for one and he said he couldn't let me use it. All they need is a simple sign in/out sheet to fix the problem of members stealing them. Also, compared to the Schaumburg location this one is not worth it. If you can't go to the other location do not bother to invest any of your hard earned money here. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. The other locations have newer equipment and they don't keep equipment from members. They also used to be 24 hours. Now they aren't.
