They still kept his membership active even after asking him to pay with a broken thumb. He continued to pay. Once I noticed he called again and went in, spoke to the owner RJ who had him fill out paperwork to cancel. He did. Then charges started back up a couple months later. He is now in Colorado he has called, wrote the owner an email. No response. He has disputed the charges but just horrible service. Buyer beware.

As a former collegiate athlete who had really let himself go, because well... Chipotle... this was what I needed. Now, not only am I a member, but our kids are too. I even train individually once a week with trainer Matt who is amazing. Matt, Wilkins, RJ, and all of the trainers truly love what they do and it shows. If you want to change your life for the better and challenge yourself while doing it, set aside your fears and doubts and attend a class. They'll even let you try it out for 3 days before you commit.

They are professional, knowledgeable, and very nice.

They provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hair dryers. There's always plenty of parking. The 5:00 crew is consistent, we have a great routine, 2 Gs are a plus early in the morning because I really dislike the rower. The monthly membership fee is comparable to other gyms in the area, but the cancellation fees are ridiculous, a grace period would be nice once in a while when members miss an alarm. I know it may read like a big ol complaint, Orange Theory is great, classes are high tempo with a mix of hit and cardio with weights mixed in, repeat classes are mixed in later in the month. You get the option to visit more than just your home studio. Rocky River is booming, they just got a ridiculously fabulous upgrade, I typically take their Saturday 6:45 am class. I have visited studios in DC and Miami too, but they charge additional fees when you visit what they classify as elite studios, seriously sane studio different city.

It is constantly closed on and off yet again, despite the new re-grand opening as of July '26. This has been an ongoing issue for almost 10 years. I cannot understand the gross complacency of an aquatic center for the community, only to have it still in constant repair and never open. And I'm not writing about the Competition Pool - it's the Leisure Pool. The Leisure Pool is the selling point. It is the reason for the new price hike in membership. For members to finally enjoy the "new and improved" pool, sauna, etc after so many years of waiting. What a disgrace.

I remember texting my friend Vlad because I was so excited to use the sauna at the Strongsville Rec. Center. He said that I probably would find Russian men in the sauna which I did, 2 of them (apparently Russians love saunas which is cool...haha). I am writing this review a year later, in Feb. 2025. A day pass cost me about $10, if I can remember correctly. I like that this option exists because I don't have to join as a member to use the gym and sauna. GYM/POOL/SAUNA -- At the upstairs gym, I used the stair master and walking track. I also noticed that they have a weights room downstairs but I didn't use it because I didn't have a lot of time. I then used the sauna and steam room downstairs. I stayed in the sauna for about 10 mins and I stayed in the steam room for about 5 mins. The sauna is very small but manageable. There were 3 men in there when I entered. I appreciate that there is a camera inside incase of any emergencies. The steam room is a bit bigger which felt nice. It feels good to be spaced out between people. TIPS -- I recommend bringing a towel to sit on while you're in the Sauna and Steam room. Bring a water bottle too. Also, bring a padlock and key to lock your bag and clothes in the changing room (locker room). I didn't bring a lock because I didn't realize that I would need one so I carried my wallet with me while I used the gym and sauna. Now that it is winter as I'm writing this review, I want to return to the sauna and steam room. The whole gym and pool/sauna area gets very crowded so I recommend that you arrive early. The decision to join Ctown was the best thing to happen to me in my time there. I had not done crossfit before and had been a lifelong in and out of the gym kind of guy. Never fully committing for longer than a few months at a time. From the minute I walked in and met Larry the owner, I knew my life was about to change. Ctown focuses on form first and foremost and under the leadership of head coach R.E. has built a solid reputation and family like atmosphere that was more welcoming than I could ever imagine. The group sizes varied, but even at its largest of 15 you still got individualized attention from the coaches throughout the workout. Being new, I was worried about not being able to keep up with the workouts, but scalability is also important to Ctown. The coaches offered modifications for almost every workout, still pushing you to try and complete it as prescribed. I was only there for a few months, but got into the best shape of my life and was driven by not only the coaches, but my fellow athletes. Yes, you do truly feel like an athlete, no matter how you look. There's no egos at Ctown, everyone is in it together and you build a great comradery that is driven by the caring personalities of the coaches who drive and inspire you as you go. I met lifelong friends in only a few months, got into the best shape of my life and never felt like I was part of a "cult" like atmosphere like some skeptics of crossfit would say. I owe R.E., Larry and the team at Ctown much gratitude for taking in a new kid in town and turning out a dedicated, more motivated and better individual in the end. Upon meeting with the owner, Kate, I decided to give it a try & am so glad I did. Unlike past gyms I joined, I have felt totally welcomed and supported here. Every trainer takes the time to show you the workouts, explain the why, and are your biggest supporters throughout. I love how most of them have kids and know the struggle of the juggle between self care and balancing the home life. They maximize the time you are at the gym and tailor things to your capabilities, but give that extra nudge you need to step out of your comfort zone. After all, outside the comfort zone is where the magic happens!
