Visiting from NH. Nice gym. Newer and clean. Hardly anyone wearing masks though heading toward the peak of this Covid19 pandemc! All employees were though, but wearing a mask was not enforced for patrons. Employees were nice. Treadmills were newer but I didn't care for them. Most were unbalanced or wobbly. Felt like I was going to lose my step during a run. Just don't care for the new Life Fitness Treadmills. I prefer the old style better. More solid. Gym area is bigger than my home PF gym in Nashua NH. Overall good experience. read more

Nice gym. I'm visiting family from out of state. Clean and friendly. Good spot. It has what I want from Planet Fitness.

The tone the employees believe they are allowed to talk to customers is disrespectful. The female general manager at this location with dark curly hair is a piece of work. She called my home gym after refusing service to me at the overland gym stating I knew it was not my home gym and a month later had my membership cancelled. I'm a wildland firefighter and often used the gym to shower and now because she wanted to cause a problem for me I can no longer shower there. I think that's wrong she shouldn't be in a managerial status working the front desk if she doesn't know how to talk to customers and does that to a customer. I was a member at planet fitness for several years around the treasure valley AND THEY PUT ME OUT! I've talked to several other people who know exactly who I'm talking about who have had similar encounters with this particular lady. EVEN A FRIEND THAT I KNOW THAT WORKS THERE SAID SHES RUDE TO STAFF AS WELL. SHE SHOULDN'T BE A MANAGER THERE. But it's all good terrible actions catch up to people so karma will get her. I want to confirm what the other reviewer said about the late night guy. The only times he moves is to follow after someone who is using a disinfectant bottle only to berate the person for him having to fill it back up. Another guest said he showed him a toilet covered in feces and asked if he was going to clean it. He said it was not his job and then he flushed some of it away and said before walking away: "Hey, it flushes.". I know help is hard to find but come on. read more

I know this is a judgement free zone but this has to be the dirtiest planet fitness I've been too. Crowd levels are average and locker and restrooms are clean but the gym floors themselves are beyond clean. There is tons of hair and fuzz around all the equipment and floors . I went in this morning to find the same toilet clogged for the past 3 days. I wanted to shower but was afraid of becoming more dirty from the venture. I had previously switched to this gym from the Milwaukee location because it was consistently more clean and there's NO HOT WATER at the Milwaukee location. We loved Keith. He was ALWAYS cleaning OUR GYM! Now that he's gone, it only gets cleaned right before inspection time. I suppose that whatever it is that the employees are looking at on their phones is more important than cleaning. I'm a long time member, but I'll soon be looking for another option. read more

Well, I must admit, I have judged this book by its cover for years. I thought, $10.00 a month is so cheap, you pay for what you get. Their equipment must be run down, the locker room must be dirty, why would I join there? Well after joining about 5 gyms around the valley, I finally joined Planet Fitness about a month and a half ago. Let me say, don't judge this place by the price tag. I have been so impressed with the equipment, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of patrons and staff. If you were to compare it to the other gyms, this one wins for equipment, the patrons, and the cleanliness. The locker-rooms have always been clean since the day I joined. The equipment I use has always worked and worked well. (Minor earphone issues on one) There is a thirty minute workout area that is nice to utilize when my time is crunched. There is a little stoplight that goes green and red when it is time to start it stop your weights or stair steps. They are setup 1 - 18 (I think 18, might be 20) and you do each one once. There is a stretching and abs area in the back. And a huge cardio and weight section. While they don't have traditional classes, they do have weight classes and free athletic training sessions. I have yet to take advantage of those but someday I will. If you need a machine to run on and or some weights to lift, this is your place! They have a key holder area where you can hang your keys, a coat area to hang your coat if you are like me and come dressed to workout. The first week I was running in coatless because I didn't have a lock for a locker. Don't be silly like me. Know that they are there. You can pay more for more perks, like a tanning bed and certain discounts but for me, $10.00 was just what the doctor ordered. So get on your sports clothes and come watch HGTV with me while I workout! read more

The 'gross-ness' of this gym is reaching new levels. It is by far the closest to my home but this club is not messy, not dirty, it's disgusting. And once again, 3 staff behind the counter ALL playing on their phone, not one doing anything to clean up. LOL there was a dust bunny so big that I set down a dumbbell and it blew it away and I thought is was a mouse. In all seriousness, you are not short staffed - obviously - why not have employees clean? The only ones I have ever seen cleaning, and I go 6 days a week, are one very nice African American man in the morning and the trainer - he works hard and cleans. No one else. Puzzling. read more

While I was working out late at night I noticed an employee who treats members poorly, specifically women. His first initial starts with a C. I also noticed that he order's fast food and eats it in front of other's that are doing our best to maintain a better and healthier life style. I will be canceling my membership soon and seeking another option to achieve my fitness goals. read more

Reasonably priced gym with ample parking. There are lockers in the common area as well as in the locker rooms. The locker rooms have showers as well as private changing rooms. Be sure to bring a lock for the lockers. There are over a dozen TVS set to different stations, so bring your earbuds if you want to listen to a particular show while on a cardio machine. The cardio machines are in decent repair. I have never had an issue finding a machine to use. There are mats in several areas of the gym. I generally stretch in the corner designated as "Abs & Stretching". Like most Planet Fitness locations, they have free pizza once a month. Also, they have free bagels once a month. The pizza is from Idaho Pizza. The bagels are from Pastry Perfection. I don't know the days. Be sure to ask the staff at the front desk. Instead of signing up for two individual memberships, my husband and I opted for a single Black Card membership. He is the member and I'm his guest. This membership entitles us to visit other locations. However, they restrict you to 10days/mo at a visiting location. read more

COLD SHOWERS I stopped in the other day to work out. The staff seemed friendly and the equipment was clean. After my workout, I went to shower. There's very poor lighting in the shower area. NO sanitary spray in the showers and the water was cold. Management needs to turn their hot water heaters up. The lockers seemed smaller at this location than at other locations I've been to. There's blow dryers in the women restrooms which is a plus. read more

Okay. I have been a member here for a few months. The staff for the most part are very polite and helpful. I mainly use the treadmill each visit but all the equipment seem to be in great condition and I frequently see employees cleaning around the gym and equipment. My only serious complaint and reason for not giving 5 stars is because of the cleanliness of the men's locker room. I have seen the paper towels and soap out of stock so many times it seems to be a common practice. Also the showers are dirty. I don't blame the staff for making the shower area filthy, but I do believe they need to be diligent about keeping it clean for members. I have started taking photos of paper towels littering the showers and discarded underwear hanging from the shower curtains. I then have told staff about the mess and asked to have someone check/clean up the locker rooms. An hour later the out of stock items have been stocked, but the messes are still there! Must be waiting for the "janitors" to clean up at the end of the day? I don't know. If it continues I will be relocating my membership. CANT CANCEL! -Opened a membership at my "home gym" in Nampa- then moved to Boise shortly after. -Was told that I couldn't cancel over the phone, I had to go in to my home gym or send a hand written letter with a signature. -You can't even cancel online. I assumed with COVID they would take a verbal signature. Nope. So, I sent a letter with my signature and my membership was still "pending cancellation." -They wouldn't let me update a card over the phone (like if it's been comprimised) -They charged me late fees and sent my "past due" balance to collections. I have been trying to cancel for just under a year- I shouldn't have had a balance at all. I went in to my home gym and told them the situation and they charged me for 7 months. I haven't even stepped foot in the gym for an entire year. DONT GYM HERE. THE SERVICE QUITE FRANKLY SUCKS. read more

Not sure why opened the Orchard location. Bathrooms are still being worked on as well as other areas. They rearranged various machines, some don't make sense. The smith machines are so close to each other that you are literally almost on top of each other during workouts. Everything feels so cramped up. I'm not why they thought this would be a good idea. In all fairness, they are still working on things, so I hope they spread the machines a bit. I don't want to work out feeling like I'm sitting in an airplane seat. read more

With this particular location I'm not a big fan. JThey are always running out of paper towels at some of the sanitation station, and it's not as clean as the other PF's I've been too. The staff is very friendly, however, I'll be switching to another location. read more

Update: Manager finally emailed after 2 weeks of trying to get ahold of someone. Basically called my fiancé a liar and offered him 50.00 and said that was the most he could do. He verified he hadn't come into the gym since Jan of 2015, but couldn't justify refunding all the fees since then because we could just be lying about canceling. LOL! If he can see we haven't come in since then, we haven't used their services for 7 years, so we are stuck paying for something we didn't even use? Makes so much sense. GO ELSEWHERE! Planet Fitness, you are a good gym when I am in a crutch and tight in $$, but whenever possible, I seem to switch at first chance. Why? It's because you don't have classes to motivate me to actually work out. Quite possibly, that's my problem and not yours. If you are the type that is internally motivated to break a sweat, and need no external motivation, I'll bet Planet Fitness is the best bang for your buck. The machines are clean, most of the time. Often, if you choose to go after work, you will have to wait a couple minutes for the machine you want to use. There are lockers for you to store your stuff, candy on the front desk to ruin your calories burned, and tanning machines to give you skin cancer. I didn't have any issues cancelling my membership, and its only $10 extra to sign up. Truly, this gym will work for some, but not for those who need some additional motivation to break a sweat. read more

Although the gym itself is fine, the sign up and cancellations process is absolutely ridiculous. First you have to give them your checking account info. Red Flag no.1 Second, in order to cancel you have to mail them a written signed letter Red Flag 2. The staff is great and the equipment is typical. The corporation has a very unfriendly memberships program though. After all the hassle I will remember to not choose them next winter for my winter workouts. Equipment break downs now and then but hey, that's the nature of equipment and it might be difficult these days to get them serviced. After years at either Idaho Athletic and/or Jonny's Fit Club, Planet Fitness feels like heaven, especially if you spend just a little more than $10 and get free access to hydro-massage tables, massage chairs, tanning beds, and red light therapy. The whole family signed up (including two teenagers) and there is enough variety of equipment and circuits to keep everyone happy, a major accomplishment. Everything feels clean and well-maintained, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful, even with the aforementioned teens. Guests are a mix of super fit to super not, with everything in between. Real people, in other words. The only negative would be if you really loved/needed classes, because they don't have any. But that's a non-starter for us since we avoid them like the plague anyway. Overall, not a single complaint. And these days, that feels like a major accomplishment, well deserving of five stars. read more

Simple business model, great people, clean space, variety of machines and additional services! This is not a gym for body builders, buts it's perfect for the average joe that wants to get in shape. I love the 30 Minute Circuit room, 10 Minute Ab room and the cool-down area. Locker rooms are kept clean and are never full. Great selection of tv channels to zone out to! I love that you can use any PF with a black card! I do wish it was kept a little cooler during hot months. read more

Like a million other Americans, I joined a gym early in January. I joined Planet Fitness at this location. It was not 'til April that I actually went there for some much-needed exercise. So far, I am just using one of the cardio treadmill machines, which is probably state-of-the-art ... lots-o-selections from which to choose. I like it. The facilities are very clean and absent of the body odor, which can knock you over at other gyms. The single-location monthly membership is $10 and you certainly get your money's worth. There is a second, more expensive membership choice, but I found the basic membership just right for me. I'm not gonna move in, just visit now and then. I'm giving it four stars and not five, because I wish they had, say, a sauna or a steam room. But, of course, such facilities would greatly increase the monthly membership fees. The ethic there is a non-judgmental environment, which is a good thing. I was once a member of a gym in L.A. that was the complete opposite. I felt sorry for the women working-out there. So, what Planet Fitness is doing is great. They call it "No Gymtimidation" ... very smart of them. (Find a need and fill it.) All-in-all it is a good deal for ten bucks a month. I am a satisfied customer. Give it a try. There is no contract. So, you can drop-out any time you wish (not sure if this is true of ALL locations). read more

I switched to Planet Fitness after Body Renew went belly-up. The facility is large, clean, and the equipment seems to be well maintained. I haven't had any difficulty accessing the free-weights (which was a common bottle neck at Body Renew), and the locker rooms have plenty of space. So far I view it as a great gym overall. I reserve 5 stars for those gyms that include pool access, however. read more

Waited for nearly an hour just to tan, first stood at the counter for well over ten minutes before she would even help me. Then I waited for her to clean the booth and start it. I got my tanning lotion on and I stood there for another ten minutes and the tanning booth hadn't started yet. So I poked my head out twice and told the girl at the counter that it wasn't starting and she just ignored me. So finally I got mad and got dressed and left. And right as I was walking out the door she had the audacity to be like oh I just started the bed! After I had already been there for about 45 minutes at this point. What a waste of time. Got the job done! Ample parking. Big spread of machines. HOT showers. They even have a scale unlike some of the PF gyms.

Just a heads up, if you get a membership at this gym they won't let you cancel unless you bring in a handwritten letter. They might also charge you for an extra month because you "didn't cancel correctly". Shady business 10/10 wouldn't reccomend to a friend read more

I just moved to Boise from California. I went to this location. I presented 2 long member numbers and could not get fingerprint registered. I called the branch I initially registered with. I paid for a long term membership all at once. The front desk people were accommodating. However, there was much that was out of their hands. I had to cancel my membership. I would go to 24 hour fitness since their organization was way better. There are none in Boise. The way membership is organized at this gym is terrible. I've worked at a casino and seen a better players' club than this. Sorry Planet Fitness, I'm not coming back. read more

Go to any other gym! I had a membership in Virginia with pf for 4 years and it was just fine for a new athletic individual. But I moved home and went to the orchard location and was miserable , I thought I would deal with it for the price but forget it, I got out completely and went somewhere else. The staff was rude to me 100% of the time, was no help, the manager and one trainer on staff talked down to me. Not only that if your in good shape people staff and members make you feel so uncomfortable. Dont do it. Not worth 10$ a month read more

Stared out great (2 + months). Then an "upgrade" in equipment, hasn't been the same since. Break downs every day, whole rows not functional. (they still keep the out of order signs off so it looks good). Getting rid of top of the line equipment for your own branded POS is the last move. I quit. read more
