Poor customer service. I was told membership was $15 a month. When I went to sign up they wanted your checking acount info PLUS a credit card. I really like this gym & have been going to it for 6 yrs at lunch time. In the summer they let high school students have free access. While i think this is great to get younger people started with health & a gym, it is so crowded now that paying members have to add an extra 30 minutes to your workout to wait on machines. I think they should offer free time to students during non peak times. read more

Always have loved this planet fitness and the people who work there until having to deal with Art at the front desk tonight who kicked me out after I asked why I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to help me with a tanning bed. After walking around the gym looking for someone's help I went back to the front to wait some more. After Art finally came to help, he immediately gave me attitude. I'm immediately canceling my membership after my interaction with Art tonight. How disgusting to treat a customer the way he treated me raising his voice to me telling me to get out while pointing his finger to the door. Very bad look for Planet Fitness. I recently switched to this gym from 24 hour fitness. I like that they are all about the clients. They don't allow "lunks" here and there's even a lunk alarm for when people get out of hand. They don't have a pool or sauna, but that's a small price to pay for a gym that really cares about the people who frequently visit. If you're looking for a gym for that lets you be a macho beef cake who grunts a lot, this is definitely not the place for you. If you're looking for a gym with a trainer who gets in your face and shouts for you to keep going, keep looking. This gym has no trainers. They don't allow them. They do however have training classes. They have cross fit equipment for those getting into cross fit training. They also have a stretching area. If you want a gym that you can go to get/keep in shape and be surrounded by people of EVERY shape and size, this is your gym. They even offer tanning beds, massage chairs, hydro massages, and body toning zones for black card members. I have no regrets about switching from 24 hour fitness to Planet Fitness. It's a longer drive from my house, but closer to my job. I will definitely be coming after work more often! read more

As for the gym, it's one of the best gyms I've ever been too. It's so big that even when the parking lot is full, there is still plenty of machines to use. I love the no judgement and I love the cost. I have the black membership, which allows you more access to massage chairs, tanning beds, etc. I never used the tanning beds. While I love the gym, the lady that handles the accounts should be fired. She's awful, which is why I could not give the gym 5 stars. I was double charged once and it was nearly an act of Congress to get my money back. My husband tried to cancel his membership and was charged for several months even though he asked many times to cancel it. He ended up having to go to the bank and show proof of his repeated requests and they cancelled that card. The gym is always clean, the people (other than the lady who handles accounts) are all so nice. This is a great gym. read more

I just got moved to this area for the military. Since I'm moved around a lot I use the military active and fit insurance program. It gives access to many gyms if you just pay the insurance. This planet fitness had a hard time understanding the insurance, I get that it's alittle weird. So after a month they pulled me aside and said I owed the months fees. After a thirty minute conversation they understood they messed up setting up the contract and tried to fix my contract. Fast forward another month and it happens again. After sitting with the manager he assured me he fixed it and it wouldn't happen again. The next month the same thing and the manager is very aggressive about how I must pay to keep working out even though I already pay through my insurance. They basically are getting a second payment for my month. I tried to talk to him and show him the past contracts that show this should all be covered by insurance but he didn't care to listen. The actual facility is eh. Decent machines etc etc. a lot of small issues like clips being broke or seats not adjusting. Pretty common in a gym like this though. read more

I have not been to Planet Fitness in over a year due to taking care of a family member. Even though I had not been to the gym while caring for the family I still maintained it financially knowing that I would return. Yesterday morning I decided to download the Planet Fitness app so that I could start going back to the gym however, I noticed my account had a $200 balance, I immediately logged into my bank account and pulled up the monthly auto drafts from my account. My records showed that the automatic monthly payment of $23.87 ABC*4341-Planet Fitness has been taken out since the start of my account in 2019 along with an Annual Membership Fee of $42.22 each April. Even though I had not been to the gym while caring for the family I still maintained it financially knowing that I would return, so I was stunned by the $200 balance and figured it was just an oversight on the PF side, so I called to inquire with my home gym (Deer Park, Texas Club #4341). I spoke to the manager and explained to her the whole situation and that my bank account was automatically drafted each month and should reflect active and updated with payments. The manager asked for my phone number to pull up my account, she said that my account was still active and did see the monthly payments, and that the $200 balance was due to late fees ($10 monthly) dating back to July 19, 2022. I asked how I could excess a late fee if my account was on auto-draft and taken out of my account monthly. She said that each month they drafted all accounts on the 17th but mine for "some unknown reason" was drafted on the 23rd. She said she didn't know why my credit card was charged for the monthly fee on the 23rd vs the 17th. She said, "There must be some disconnect" Whatever that means. She was unwilling to waive the fee. I was unaware of any issue and my monthly dues got paid each month. I also asked for clarification on why I wasn't called regarding this payment issue, and she said she wasn't sure why I wasn't notified. (I'm sure that's because they received a payment each month) I find this situation deeply concerning and believe that the late fee is unjustified for the following reasons. Absence of Notification: Planet Fitness failed to notify me when they were unable to charge the monthly membership fee on time on the 17th rather than the 23rd each month for nearly 2 years. I was unaware of any issues until yesterday morning, indicating a lack of communication on their part. I don't have any control over when the funds are drafted from my account. I contacted my Credit Card company/bank and they said they didn't see any declined charges and said charges are instantaneous with no delay or holdings. The Transaction Date and Post date are the same. I firmly believe that the late fee is unjust and may be affecting numerous other customers who are unaware of this situation. It appears to be a systematic issue on Planet Fitness's part. Maybe it's just time for me to cancel my account altogether seems like they are willing to lose a member rather than make it right. The manager didn't seem to care in resolving this matter or to rectify the situation. I have had no issues with Planet Fitness until now. read more

I honestly have zero complaints. This place is like heaven compared to the crap that is the 24 Hour Fitness in Baytown. It isn't 100 degrees like other gyms I've been to and the facility has been super clean each time I've visited. The staff always greets me with a hello and there is always a machine available for me to use. I love the fact that I can go get a hydro massage after my workout and I swear, I usually fall asleep for a few minutes and I'm so relaxed on the way home. I can't tan (because I'm a ginger) but its awesome that they make it available. I would love to see some yoga classes or more beginner classes but I really do love this gym and never feel judged or ridiculed when I'm working out. Can't beat 23$ a month. 24 hours too! read more

This is by for the most bang for your buck gym out right now. 20 bucks a month to workout on state of the art equipment and have unlimited access to the message begs and chairs while even getting a tanning bed if you're feeling a bit risky. I've been working out here for a few weeks and I really enjoy it and the judgement free zone. Lots of standard equipment and an cool black card room. Only downside are the racks. The bar is connected to a pulley system so the amount of work I can do on it is limited and I think there should be a bit more ab equipment. Otherwise, great gym to work out at! read more

Honestly, I've loved coming here for the past 3 years. LA fitness, fitness connection and other surrounding smaller gyms in the area are requiring for guest to wear masks and planet fitness is not. It's extremely disappointing because Houston has reached an incredible amount of cases in the last few weeks and the fact they're not making it mandatory for everyone to wear a mask is dangerous. If you care about your health and are taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself and loved ones from Covid, this place is not the gym to workout in. read more

I LOVE THIS GYM! I've gone from 24hr to Fitness Connection and by far this is the best gym i've gone to. It's a small sized gym but I love it because it's great if you're starting to build a routine for yourself and if you want to go to a place where no one is judged. $10 monthly, $20 for the black card which allows tanning, massage chairs, hydro massage chairs, some body enhancement beds, and 1/2 off drinks. I have the black card which also allows you to take a free guest and you can go to any PF. Staff is very lovely except the manager, Andrew, he always looks like he's in a bad mood and is sometimes not the friendliest to speak to. Other than that it's a great facility for everyone that is beginning their fitness journey and a place where you feel confident in yourself. read more

I recently switched to Planet fitness coming from 24 hour. I really like how this gym is "NO CRITIC'S" there's NOBODY bothering you while working out, NO trainers telling you how to do something, NO girl's taking selfies, NO big macho guy making some type of weird grunt sound trying to lift weight. This gym is mainly for beginners or wanting to maintain. They also have tanning... big plus! & massage chairs! So if your looking for a gym that has just enough or the basics on gym machines then I highly recommend it! read more

Probably the best Fitness place in the deer park. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the equipment is kept very clean, very affordable, also the massage chairs are amazing ;). This is a nice gym. However, I came out of the bathroom stall of the women's locker room and there was a man in there. He was with another lady getting cleaning supplies out of the closet. I guess they were about to clean. If a man really needs to be in there then they should announce it, but instead he's just in there like it's nothing. I left right afterwards. read more
