Used the black card option for my tanning session one day, employee didn't ask if or suggest I use eye protection. 3 days later used the tanning session again and asked if I have eye protection, I said I do, she said "show me" I said I would need to get them in my car, or pay $1.00 (no Apple Pay option)even though my face doesn't ever go into the UV LIGHTS it's always covered , she went over to the other computer and came back and said it's all set I charged your account w/out telling me , A bit rude how her attitude was to say she got the last word..if I knew this procedure (not my usual location) I would have been prepared and not have this useless confrontation with this employee.Again training employees to be consistent is the key!! read more

This gym was one of me and my boyfriend's favorites, until the recent addition of free weights, which have completely thrown off the layout of the gym and made it much more disorganized. The repainting of the walls from its original bright yellow to a dull white has really killed the bright motivating atmosphere that Planet Fitness once was. I'm sadly very disappointed and will be cancelling our memberships. There isn't one thing I hate more than large corporations succumbing to minimalization and greed. read more

I walked into the gym yesterday and was hit by the most foul odor. It smelled like sewage. Just disgusting and not the first time. I asked the front desk where the smell was coming from and they said, "we don't know". This was the last straw for me in addition to non attentive staff. (The owner needs a complete reset or training with his team). Dirty bathrooms and overall facility unkept. I canceled my membership and couldn't be happier. Gym should be closed down by health department. Mold in sinks. Filthy bathrooms. Built up dust on bathroom stalls. Built up dust on the large ceiling fans. Staff is not friendly. Please replace the paper towel dispensers that are faulty, there are quite a few of them around the gym that do not work properly and just sound like they have stripped gears in their mechanisms and take forever to dispense paper towels that are meant to wipe down equipment. Some paper dispensers need to be refilled. The floors also need to be cleaned better, some days are better than others but some areas need more attention. Disposable water bottles and paper towels left strewn all over the gym need to be taken care of. Some days the bathroom needs more cleaning and attention as well. Some of the detachable lat pull-down bars have slipping rubber handles and loosening end caps, and the detachable tricep rope pull modules are looking pretty frayed and beat up. Overall, this gym would benefit from much more attention to detail and direction from supervising staff to cleaning staff. read more

Been a member here since they opened. It's easy to see the decline in the equipment up-keep, staff turnover and the workout environment (cleanliness) in general. In the past month, the gym has experienced a malfucntion in the air conditioning, causing it to feel like a sub-zero fridge. Who wants to freeze their ass off when working out! I received an email yesterday about expressing my experience here at the gym in Delray Beach off of Military Trail. So, I decided to provide detail about my concerns, per request by planet fitness. Upon arrival, the manager greeted me and immediately provided me with comfort and told me that the issue had been fixed and that it wont be an issue anymore. I honestly wouldn't have said anything but I got an email from what appeared to be from corporate so i figured that I would address the issue. This place is nice, clean, and not overcrowded (at least the multiple times I've been). No one bothers you, and you are able to focus on your workout. I love the amount of machines and the variety of choices. The "ab area" and the "30 minute workout" area are normally empty, so I've tried them and I'd say they are awesome for quick little workouts (I normally use them as a burnout at the end of my workouts). I went there several weeks the girl that was supposed to be working behind the desk sitting in the lounge chair with her eyes called corporate. She says to me while I wake her up you didn't see me I said I didn't see you there. Why would I look for in a lounge chair? I look for you behind the desk or if you're cleaning some of the machines , I then said sarcastically I didn't know your job was to be taking a nap in the massage chair I I obviously told them the time when I reported the incident and nothing has been done. I used to joke about planet fitness. Never been a fan of some of their selling points (ie tootsie rolls, pizza, cupcakes, etc) because the actual part of fitness Most people struggle with is the diet, not the physical movements and exercise. The motivation to eat healthy, while not starving yourself of necessary nutrients, should be encouraged as much as the training. Processed sugar, unless you are lifting super heavy, is not the type of reward you should encourage. I know it's a corporate thing, as is the silly link alarm so I will not take that into consideration with my review. This is specific to THIS LOCATION IN DELRAY BEACH fl. I have been visiting for two weeks now. The location is convenient for my daughters extracurriculars and while I am coming back from an injury I liked the idea of "no judgment". I come from a background of body building, dating juiceheads in the past and lifting around arrogant egos, which has sort of bruised my own self confidence and perception so this motivating and diversely humble environment means a lot to me right now as I ease back in. Jonny at the front desk, gave a great presentation, without being overwhelmingly sales-y or aggressive with the "join now or be fat" type of attitude you'll find at la fitness or other commercial gyms. He is knowledgeable and personable and made me feel welcome for my trial visit last week. The crowd I've worked out beside both Saturdays so far have been friendly, respectful of space, clean and courteous with the sanitizing and the gentlemen (sorry to call you all out) have been surprisingly un-creepy. I felt very comfortable being sweaty and disgusting knowing there are ZERO TRIPODS and influencers making videos and taking selfies in the workout areas. Love. That. So. Much. I look like a sweaty mess and I know I got in a good burn without making it into the background of tiktok and Instagram videos! Anyway the place seems clean and the equipment, while general and basic, is perfect for a good workout. Remember that Arnold got in a pump NO MATTER where he trained and the fancy stuff, while fun and flashy, doesn't beat the basic movements that worked for historical meatheads, fitness models and other HEALTHY humans we look up to. I haven't been to a PF in years so I wanted to make a shout out to this location for being so much better than I expected. Highly recommend this convenient PF location, not sure about the week or the afternoons, but Saturday morning, I promise is way better than most local gyms. I personally spoke to cancel my membership at the gym. Was told the computer was down , but they took my name and number and told me it would be handled. I called the very next day to verify it was cancelled. I was told the computers were still down but they had my information and it would be done. NO one told me I needed to sign a paper in person to cancel. So I get another automatic bill payment for member dues the next month!!! when I spoke with the manager, he said it was not refundable despite it being the staff's error!! Totally unacceptable! I have a membership to another gym but it's a little further away from my home. I do go to other gym on my days off. I joined Planet Fitness because it's on my way home from work. The gym is dirty! I have not seen any professional cleaning personnel during the day, just the non-friendly and unmotivated front desk personnel swishing around a mop in bathroom, once, pretending to clean. The stretching mats are gross and need to be replaced! They have limited space for stretching. When I do stretch, I wipe the floor around my immediate area where I am stretching. The paper towels I use are black from the dirt I wiped up off the floor. The air ducts are also filthy and should be cleaned. It's post Covid people, have you not learned anything? The gym needs to close down for a day or two for a thorough cleaning! read more

As a regular here, I was a bit taken back by the poor reviews I had read though it seemed that most of them were from the distant past. I have no complaints and found the gym to be clean, well run and maintained and enjoyed the upgrades this summer to the cardio equipment. The only reason I am dinging you a star is that as a result of the power failure this past Tuesday night, I headed out to the club on Federal Highway under Linton and was way more impressed with their digitally updated equipment and how smoothly it worked at the same resistance levels. Planet Fitness has lots of machines, is pretty clean, and is cheap - but the "judgement free zone" is really the "rules free zone", and it is common to have machines monopolized for twenty minutes to a half hour by one person to the exclusion of everyone else as there are no rules for maximum time on a machine, and there are a good number of regulars who just do set after set on the same machine, resting on the machine looking at their cell phones and apps in between so nobody else can use them. I've come in at various times on various days -- and it's pretty much all the same. No rules. No common courtesy. No conception of what "hogging" a machine is. I've been a member for a number of years and go frequently. The place is dirty. There are dust balls on the equipment and all around the edge of the floors. No one has vacuumed in months. When you first walk into the facility, you can see the dirt on the walls where the AC vent is. Dirt balls are hanging on the support cabling of the two large fans. Dirt on the backs of tv's, and equipment. Makes you wonder what the air filters look like in the air handling unit. When I asked at the front desk, they told me they were switching to a new cleaning company. That was months ago and there has been no improvement. The most AWFUL staff & customer service I've ever experienced! The "manager" Richie is the most unprofessional, unfriendly, unhelpful individual I've ever encountered! I CANNOT believe he has a position of authority. His rude behavior makes it abundantly clear he does not care whatsoever for the members, their concerns, questions or issues. When I had the apparent nerve to ask him about a fee I found in my acct, he could barely acknowledge me, or greet me and told me it's an annual fee. When I told him I asked specifically about any other fees other than the $10 monthly fee before I joined, he said it's in the contract. When I asked why I wasn't told when I specifically asked about it, he said we don't have to tell you anything, it's in the contract. And frankly, it's his behavior and continued rudeness as the exchange continued that made it worse. He didn't care about my frustration or dissatisfaction at all. The money became unimportant at that point. He looks like he HATES being there and could care less about any member that might have a problem. He doesn't greet you, acknowledge you, smile or show any interest in assisting you. He avoids doing anything customer related, whether it be to answer a question on the phone or in person. The majority of the staff just sit behind the desk looking miserable. Most of them never have an answer to your questions and I found if they do, it ends up being wrong anyway. The only individual who seems to care or show any interest about members concerns or questions is the assit manager, Tracey, who, if she has any interest in remaining there, should really be the manager. Richie is absolutely deplorable in every aspect of customer service! If you want NOTHING other than basic machines and don't plan on asking the staff anything for almost any reason, then I guess it's fine. But if you want a pleasant and enjoyable experience without any concern should you have a question or need assistance. DO NOT choose this location! read more

I really like this Planet Fitness. Clean, friendly, and reliable equipment. I'm writing this review to get attention for my stolen bicycle left outside the club for 40 minutes. I'm sure this happens all the time and it goes unreported and SHOCKINGLY Planet Fitness makes no concerted effort to thwart the problem. The bike rack is situated in a friendly spot for thieves. There are no windows from the club to the bike rack and it sits a good 200 feet from the entrance-out of sight, out of mind. Until you're the one whose valuable property gets clipped, creating an insecurity about enjoying a peaceful workout without the threat of financial and personal harm and inconvenience. 1. Have a cctv camera at the bike rack that coordinates with Palm Beach police department. Post a warning sign that area is monitored and Planet Fitness prosecutes to the full extent of the law. 2. Move the bike rack in direct control and purvey of Planet Fitness staff. Anything can be done. Tell your lawyers to make it happen. 3. Build a makeshift bicycle locker that is more secure than a bike rack that creates an impenetrable obstacle to thieves. 4. Allow for the locker rooms to be retrofitted to store folding bikes. I want to continue enjoying the club and the routine I've set up for myself. This includes biking to and from as part of my personal goals. I'm hoping that the management of this club can think outside the box and create a solution that considers the peace of mind of cyclists. If you bike to this club, I guarantee you that your bike will be stolen regardless how good your lock is. I had a very good lock and I'm 100% sure it was locked because I'm obsessive about checking. read more

Going downhill since I last gave it a rave review a month ago. The fans have not been "fanning" for a week, most of the TV's are screwed up with sound not matching picture on half of them (again, all week), and the cupholder things around the treadmills are filled with candy wrappers and paper towels. One staff member there on Sunday, so there's no help with these issues. Once upon a time, it was a neat and fully-functional gym.
