I've been a member for a while but just recently (the last month or so) have returned to working out. I really like this location. Clean, comfortable temperature, lots of equipment and a safe environment. Staff is always friendly and if there is a question or problem, they do their best to handle it immediately. I only wish some of the customers were as considerate and would remember to not talk on their phones on speaker. But that's very rare. read more

This location is in MUCH better condition than the LA Fitness across the street. During my day pass here, I didn't notice a single broken machine, and there were no algae/bacteria issues with their water. There is, though, a disappointing lack of free weight exercises at this location. The whole gym is 1 story, and half of this space is occupied by cardio machines (there's no way that nearly all of these are taken up even at peak hours). If you incorporate free weight movements into your workout routine, this location is not the place for them. read more

I do not even want to give a 1 star review. But I came to this gym because I was in the area and I had w aged to get a workout in. I had a horrible time and experience. Julian was not helpful at ALL. this place don't even deserve the ONE star. That's how bad. I came around 11pm and usually they're 24hrs but today they closed at midnight. understandable. except my whole time there one employee was very rude towards everyone's workout. flickering the nights at 11:30 and at 11:50 to let us know they're closing soon... it's fine but truly it GETS TO A POINT. Also, throughly this time period she was rude and loudly saying she's ready to go home and that everyone needs to leave while mean mugging everyone she was around while she was saying this. someone needs to retrain their staff and enforce customer service or something because...how do u lack that much empathy. girl work morning shifts if you don't wanna deal with closing seriously. read more

I've been going here off and on since it opened in 2021. My home gym is Steeplechase. The other morning, i hopped on the elliptical. At least 2 minutes in the nighttime staff member approached me from behind. He asked me about a former guest i used to have. I told him the guest has his own account now. The employee started telling me that the former guest was banned from the gym by the manager for disrespect. He told me some long drawn out story that didnt apply to me. I called the former guest and told him not to go to the NW Crossing gym, so he turned around and went elsewhere. This employee makes me really uncomfortable, even before this event. I plan to go to Copperfield during the week until Steeplechase opens back up. I will still go during the day because the rest of the staff at NW Crossing don't seem creepy. This guy working overnights is bad business. I'm sure he will have me banned for this review, but i won't be back when he's there anyway... i hope. read more

I've been going to planet fitness for almost a year now but the one on the northside. Pretty pleased, no issues. Decided to try one closer to work and I almost lost my life on the leg press Their machines here SUCK. They're a modern twist to standard machines and I'm telling you right now, they need to stick with the basic essentials. Their machines look new but their safety locks either don't lock all the way, even if you hear a click, they won't unlock so you can adjust a seat to your size, OR the whole entire lock is broken. I stay vouching for planet fitness but y'all really need to get your shit together and maintenance these machines. Matter fact, throw them away and try again. I took videos to show y'all how their locks are either stuck and don't adjust or don't lock properly, which is how I almost lost my life today, but Yelp apparently doesn't have a video option. Anyway, this has NEVER happened to me... I'm walking out of here with trauma smh. This is also the smallest and worst planet fitness I have been to thus far. Came here for the first time today to workout. I've had my Planet Fitness Black Card membership for most of this year. Just hadn't made it due to personal and health reasons. I'm finally in a good place to exercise regularly. Nice clean,well lit facility with lots of machines and equipment. I'm not sure what was going on before with the reviews about unprofessional staff. But all of the staff was very welcoming and friendly to me today. I didn't have any problems with them. I look forward to returning to this location and working out here regularly. My only con is the parking lot can be sketchy at times. Which really doesn't fall on PF. Just be careful and aware of your surroundings everyone. read more

So I've Purposely waited to write this review till I've spent a good amount of time using this location. This is the only location I've visited so my review is based o my on this location. I've been coming 4 times a week for the past two months. This gym is also a new location so all the equipment is new. The staff is friendly and I never Experience attitude like others have said. With me going as much as I do The staff recognizes me at this point and will tell me hi when they see me working out, this is apart from saying hi as you walk in like they do with everyone. Unlike other gyms I've used over the years planet fitness DOESNT have a pool, Basketball or tennis courts, cycling class, Zumba class or large class sessions. They DO have all the cardio machines and weights like any other gym. They also have the TRX setup and a crossfit are setup. There is also an area designed only for core workout as well as a stretching room. One other workout area is the express workout room. I don't remember how long it takes to complete but machines are line up along the wall and lights on the ceiling change from red to green. When green you start at the first machine. When red you stop and move to the next. When you e gone all around you have done a full body workout. Now the things they do have that I have never seen before are the elaborate massage chairs that hug your body and give a deep tissue massage. There is also a health angle machine that uses red light therapy to help you have healthy skin. There is also tanning rooms and my favorite the hydro massage room. A hydro massage is a chair you lay on and warm water hits your backside from head to toe. Thai water is inside the chair and you don't get wet. You also control how hard the water hits you with the control panel. You can also control where the water hits you and for how long. The staff does a good job keeping everything clean. You'll see them cleaning all the machines one row at a time. As I stated earlier, there is no classes but they do have personal trainers on duty to help, just ask and this is free for everyone. They do have small group sessions where they show you how to Focus on certain areas and which exercises and machines are best for what you're trying to achieve. One session I did attend was "make your workout plan" I sat down with one of the personal trainers and answered some questions about myself and what I wanted to achieve. He gave me a few suggestions in a very friendly and supportive way. Then made a full workout program for me to follow. This was all free! He emailed me the program and told me to let him know if I had any questions. I was waiting for him to try to sell me one on one time or supplements but nope. I've seen this same trainer after while I'm working out and he'll pass me and give me a simple nod or at the most ask "you good?" I'm very happy I've made the switch to this gym. read more

Very rude and judgmental staff. Also very bossy. My home gym is the heights location since I live in that area and the was in this area recently to do some Christmas shopping and decided to tan while I was right there. I DO have the tanning / eye protection goggles since they came with my Amazon tanning lotion packet bundle. Usually they're in my purse but apparently I left them in my car this time. The lady at the front immediately asked if I had them and I said yes (thinking they were still in my purse). She said "you need to show me proof that you have them!" Of course I couldn't find them when I needed them and said they must be in the car. Usually, if a tanning place is reputable they will offer you some gold stick on eye protection goggles to use and throw away when you're done. This place didn't and demanded I pay $3.00 and buy another pair. I own a tanning bed and never use them at home, heck I don't even use them when I tan at places because I cover my eyes with my hands and haven't had any eye issues in the 20 years I've tanned. Treating someone like they're a liar and interrogating them like you're the tanning police is not acceptable. If someone doesn't want to wear goggles you shouldn't force them to, either. At my home gym (and the other location I go to during the school year when my kids are in school after I drop off my toddler at preschool) they don't ever request to see the goggles. They ask how many minutes and if you want stand up or lay down. Those should be the ONLY 2 questions you ask a customer ! Ridiculous! read more

The front desk called the police because I couldn't download the app and I was harrased in bathroom with my son that is a minor. I am a blackcard member and was detained by police while I showed proof of my membership agreement because front desk didn't want to use my phone number nor contract nor call my home gym to verify. read more

Usually clean enough, only half the members actually wipe down equipment after use. Be careful, if you ask for a cleaner hydro bed without 50 paper towel trash paper sitting beside it, you may get cancelled. PF staff seem unhappy and obviously take pride in canceling memberships. Its so crazy he seemed like he got off on cancelling my membership, the smirk he gave was interesting. Tip- Planet fitness is only good for their spa, that's it!!!I'll add one thing I noticed after getting my membership taken away, and this is just my constructive criticism. Train your staff more and teach them to speak to others the way they would speak to their elderly with empathy and compassion especially if they are working in the health and fitness industry. People are going through all types of mental break downs and challenges, pf needs more staff with people skills and management that listen to their customers. It would also be better for PF to have staff that have open ears instead of open mouths that are obviously unhappy at work. I recently moved from CT to Houston and transferred both my and my WIFE'S black card memberships to the Northwest Crossing location. The atrociously incompetent and rude service I received from the Manager Brullio inspired me to cancel both of our no commitment memberships. We canceled our frozen memberships on the 3/17 and were both charged monthly fees on the 3/18 to a gym we no longer have access to. The manager refused to wave to monthly fees, but said if I showed him proof my membership was frozen he would reverse the charges. I sent him proof both accounts were frozen, and he still refused to reverse the charges. Brullio, YOU ARE A LIAR! In addition to the horrible customer service, the gym is filthy, smells funky, and the music is blasting so loud you can bearly hear your own voice. There are much better places to work out in Houston. Avoid this Planet Fitness location at all costs!!! read more
