I have been to this gym a few times even though it's not my "home" gym. This is a great location. I don't know why the reviews are so bad. The staff is really awesome. I learned something new today. You don't need the Black membership to go to another location if you have the classic membership. They have a "franchise fee" where they charge you $5 to use any other gym that's convenient for you. LA Fitness went out of business and I switched over to Planet Fitness. Been with them for a couple of months and I enjoy coming to workout at this location. I was a bit skeptical at first because they don't have the best reputation but they have exceeded my expectations. Every time I come here the employees are super friendly. Their memberships are affordable starting at like $10/month. They have a second tier membership for about $25 bucks a month that gives you access to 2 different types of massage chairs, tanning, and some type of machine that is supposed to tone you. I wish they would make a video about the machine that tones you bc I'm always to shy to try it, not knowing how to use it. The workout machines are pretty well kept. I would say the treadmills and Stair masters could use a little more maintenance but overall well kept. I see the employees cleaning the machines and checking to make sure they work properly. The app allows you to check in and see how busy the gym is. Every time I come here I don't have an issue waiting for machines to open up, even when I come around what I consider rush hour (5PM). Great place to workout and feel wonderful. They even decorated for Christmas. read more

My 24hr fitness closed so I switched to plannet fitness . Its actually closer to my home and their price is absolutely affordable. The staffs are very nice and helpful. I love the way they arrange the machines. It makes me very comfortable to use them because at some gym i wouldn't be able to get near the machine where all the guys are standing in one place where they place all the machines. I like that they spread all the weight machines out do everybody can use them. Another plus thing is that they have separate section for abs and stretching, 30 minutes circuit and functioning section which is great. One thing I dont like is that when I walk in it has some smells which i dont know why because the place looks very clean and neat. read more

This place is so clean, the rafters above, the ceiling fans! I'm very impressed, the higher priced gyms aren't even this attention to detail. The front desk staff is friendly. The base membership is $10 a month if you upgrade it's $20 a month. You do have a once a year service fee of $50? $70? I don't know...it's well worth it. I am not a regular here. Although , I am considering becoming a regular. Not for the bagels or pizza either. This place is all about the workout, for the serious. They have stopped buying paper due to cost. That means people can't clean their equipment. That means sweat on everything. Don't believe that they have are having a hard time finding paper. Go to any store and they can buy in bulk. Stop being cheap! read more

No water for over two weeks now, sink is completely stopped up with brown water with sign out of order, Manager Gino walks around with absolutely no customer service skills and barks orders at people! Could care less about the fact that there isn't any water and when I ask him about it he tells me something about parts as he walks with his back to me just to go stand on the back of the counter! Aside from that everyone else is absolutely amazing that works here and are very respectful and are always smiling! The place is very clean and well kept! Please be aware parents and women and young girls that train at the planet fitness and all other locations as a matter fact. This location allows biological men that identify or claim to feel like women in the womens locker room and restrooms. I personally know of a woman and her young daughter that experienced this first hand. As they were changing in the locker room they looked over and saw a full man staring at them. This is not ok. The little girl is 14 years old. And because of planet fitness " judgment free zone " policy they allow this. To each their own it's just a warning to all parents that go here and their kids. If you don't believe me ask the front desk about this policy. And it's not the front desk of the gym employees that make these rules it's corporate. Although maybe some employees think this is ok, for most normal parents and little girls it is not. Be alert of your surroundings. read more

Planet fitness overall is a very good place. This place however, allowed people to not clean the equipment after sweating on them. I was in the 30 minute workout zone on 12/30 and a woman with a scarf On her head kept hoping on machines and not cleaning up after herself. read more

Horrible!!!! I cancelled my membership months ago and I'm still being billed. Everyone is giving me the run around on how to cancel the service. I live no where near the home gym and sending a letter is unacceptable. Charging me $70 in one month for a gym with no bench press is ridiculous. Update: Called the manager and he was unhelpful. Good machines, most of which are in working order. However, staff unfriendly and pretty unhelpful. One incident today involving buying water exemplifies total lack of client appreciation. Also, the same piece of trash has been sitting in the locker I use for 2 weeks. I'm leaving it there as an experiment to see how often they clean... I've been a member to a number of gyms over the years. When we moved to Houston, I decided to re-open my membership with Planet Fitness because I had a great experience with them while I lived in Austin. This location in particular is very nice, clean, and up to date. There are a few other locations close to this one that is a bit outdated. The tanning beds are new - which is important to me as someone who suffers from moderate psoriasis. The equipment is always in good working order. The staff is super friendly and helpful when necessary. I love this location. Super plus about PF - it's so affordable. You get almost the same amenities as Gold's or Anytime for a FRACTION of the cost. The only thing PF lacks is group classes which is not at all an issue. They have a fair trade off of free personal training. Highly recommend this gym, and definitely this location. read more

I've been a member here for just a few short months and so far, so good... until this evening. The out of shape employee with the poorly executed fashion backward hairstyle was very rude and demeaning during my checkin process. I asked about turning on the hydra massage chairs for myself and my guest. I wasn't aware guests weren't allowed back there, which is fine, but the way he delivered the message was very insincere. He then proceeded to let me know they were busy and I would have to wait 7 minutes in a very condescending manner. This location is more of a hang out place rather than a gym. It is difficult to use the equipment, as many people sit on the equipment and talk on the phone or check messages. When I brought it up to mgmt. I was told that they could not do anything about it. I have been going to other Planet Fitness locations and did not encounter the same problem. I think Planet Fitness offers a good value, just not at this location. read more

I am a member here and I have to say that the gym appears clean and the staff are friendly. My one complaint in the age of COVID-19 is I wish the staff would spend more time wiping down equipment. I always see them sweeping or spending inordinate amounts of time topping up almost full bottles of disinfectant but frankly they should be spending more time wiping down equipment rather than wasting time refilling almost full bottles. I spray down and wipe my equipment before and after but plenty of folks don't. Management should focus on actually being clean rather than just having someone push around a cart refilling almost full bottles so the place appears clean. read more

Do not sign up with these guys ! I try to cancel my membership with them and they said I had to pay out the rest of my "contract fee'' and pay the rest of my yearly dues to cancel . I was never told that there was a contract ! !!!! We have not stepped foot in the facility for 6 months and never complained about them charging us the Black Card membership every month . They said that there was nothing they could do and they would still charge us every month until the contract was up . Could have fooled me because I stopped them from taking anymore money out of my account . I will not recommend this place at all !!!! read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLANET FITNESS !! I have had a late fee that they refused to explain why and denied me entry to the gym, the manager TABATHA is beyond racist and a sad excuse as a manager. Several people and myself have discovered they are purposely charging late fees to get more money out of their customers, and I have a friend that received the same late fee but it was waived by Tabatha as a "one time waive" because she has a business account, which means she only waived it to save the business account. PLEASE DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE, other then that it is a great place to work out but it is sad they are literally stealing from their customers. I urge every other person that received this late fee to demand and explanation, cause it truly is sad. read more

Horrible customer service from Kevin! This North Oaks Planet Fitness allowed a minor to sign a membership agreement without a parent or guardian co-signer authorization or waiver, which is not only a safety hazard but also a violation of their very own company policy. Today, I entered the facility after calling for the past two days and listening to a fast busy signal, as their switchboard is apparently down, and upon discovering the charges. I spoke with the General Manager, Kevin who was horrible. I explained the situation and took responsibility as a parent for my kids action, but a child is going to be a child. Instead of showing compassion and understanding, Kevin played the blame game and refused to accept any responsibility for his business dropping the ball and putting the owners of this locations business at risk of lawsuits. He went as far as to accuse me of allowing my son to sign up for membership, after I'd already explained how I discovered the fraudulent account. I told him that he was offending me and instead of apologizing he responded by telling me that I was offending him!!! Kevin refused to provide me with corporate or the appropriate chain of command to report my experience with him.
