They have an area with a small track and they continually let people use the area for things that's absolutely necessary for so it's not available 80% of the time yeah they refuse to put a sign up telling people not to do this. carmel pf is super clean and have more staff than fast food places post covid. they are nice and respectful also.

I was nervous returning to a gym during the pandemic but it seemed Iike they had all the right guidelines in place. When you enter, you grab a bottle of sanitizer to keep with you throughout your workouts. Every other machine is blocked off to enforce distancing. You are required to wear a mask while walking through but not at any stations. I wasn't doing any spectacular workouts so I kept my mask on the entire time. I saw more people doing this than working out without a mask. It wasn't very busy on a Sunday morning so we had no problems distancing from others. I usually use the treadmill and 30-minute circuit, but the hydro massage beds are amazing. The tanning beds are nice as well. read more

This Planet Fitness location is under renovations right now, however they continue to have plenty of each type of machine available for use. It is clean and well kept. Patrons clean machines after each use and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This was my free trial, and I am getting a membership. Memberships are very reasonable and start at $10 a month. read more

I joined Planet Fitness as an alternative to my home gym. I saw it as an inexpensive way to add variety and options to my fitness lifestyle. One of my biggest worries when I domestically travel is not having a place to exercise. With Planet Fitness, that worry disappears (exceptions apply). While *most* Planet Fitness locations fail to impress me, Beech Grove's gym is quite the opposite. From my understanding, the Beech Grove Planet Fitness is newly remodeled - and it certainly shows. This location has every amenity that is typically found at one of the chain's gyms. While many locations cram their workout areas together, this one is massive. Due to the sheer size of the place, it provides more workout equipment and less claustrophobia. The strength and stretching equipment is also in a separate area from the cardio floor; your Netflix show will never be interrupted by the banging of weights or the annoying "Lunk Alarm." The Beech Grove Planet Fitness has all the unique workout stations like 12-Minute Abs, 30-Minute Express Workout, and core workout and stretching areas. It also has plenty of tanning beds (which I don't use), hydro massage bed, and massage chairs. This location has a Beauty Angel machine as well, although I cannot vouch for its results. The locker rooms are also noteworthy for their design and clenliness. For the member who prefers modesty, they even have private changing areas attached to the showers. I never thought that I would give a Planet Fitness a five-star review. Never say never. Check it out - just don't set off the Lunk Alarm by dropping your free pizza and Tootsie Rolls. read more

Nothing bad to say about this Planet Fitness. I've been a member off and on for ten years, but it's only recently I've upgraded my membership and now wishing I'd done so earlier. The place is clean; bathroom, equipment, tanning booths. There is rarely a wait to use the cardio machines and free weights - except the stair climber, as there is only two of those - but you can probably expect a wait for the tanning beds during the warmer months, unless you come early or late. There IS a reservation process so you can work out while waiting for your bed. There is only one red-light booth, which is my favorite 'extra' and the reason I upgraded my membership, and sometimes I have to skip a session if I get there during busy hours. One minor complaint: There are no scales that I've seen, unless I'm missing them. I get it's a 'no judgement' zone, but it would be nice to have a proper scale available for those who might like to check their weight loss progress. The massage beds are amazing. There is a section specifically designated for abs, and a 30-minute weight circuit course. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this Planet Fitness and feel it is a quality facility and worth the monthly fees. read more

This is my "home gym" that I visit more than any of the others in Indianapolis. It's the closest one to downtown (shame!) and is always busy. This location doesn't have the super high intensity tanning beds like the one in Greenwood, but I feel that the face tanners work better here that the others locations. They've expanded not too long ago and added more cardio equipment. You still have to wait sometimes, but it's not nearly as long as it used to be. Decent selection of TV screens to choose from as well. read more

I am a member at the one on Thompson in the Beech Grove/Indianapolis area, it is under construction but the equipment can still be used. The beds and chairs are still for use as well. I know it sounds weird, but this place is really nice - especially for Beech Grove. It is always clean, and the staff is always attentive. Other than the occasional weirdo working out in flip flops, or jeans and garden gloves, it's well worth my membership dues. Oh, and the occasional LOUD TALKER that thinks it's normal to scream at the person next to them on a treadmill (sorry - super annoying) to the point I can hear them over my headphones and the club speakers is super annoying. This is my home gym. The staff is super friendly. The gym is always clean although it seems like every time I go there is a shortage of paper towels. Normally I'd say this is a 5-star place to work out. But not today. On a very busy workout day because the club is closing early for Christmas, a lady chose to camp on the last machine in the 12 minute Ab area. I had done 4 machines prior in the circuit while the lady stayed on last machine. When I asked her to move, she would not. The whole point of this area is to allow you to cycle through a quick Ab workout. The machine she chose was the only one in the circuit like that. A shared gym doesn't work too well if someone wants to treat it like they own it. Unfortunately, the assistant manager didn't do anything when I reported the situation. read more

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. Only because the greenwood location has better tanning beds and cooler treadmills. I was a member of LA for a year and wished I had known about PF sooner. I have cut down my tanning and gym membership by 75% costs just by doing the black card PF deal!! The staff is awesome. Bobby, Megan, and Kevin really make you feel welcome. I only use free weights and the treadmill but they are good and clean. The beds and massage chairs are also clean. The lockers and showers are clean. I love this place. This location is always CLEAN and welcoming. But my main reason for coming to this location is the STAFF I adore every single one of the staff at this specific location. They ALWAYS give the most respect and go above and beyond when it comes to being kind to their guests. I come to the gym mainly for my mental health. To help me through tough things in my life and lately I've been really goin through it. The staff, make me feel welcome, safe, and at my second home. Decent enough gym, but they've changed their payment policy. They now require a bank account and routing number, a credit card, and they no longer accept cash. Why is this a problem? I've actually had my credit card number stolen by a Planet Fitness employee (different location). While it sucked, all I had to do was call the bank and cancel the card, they reversed the charges and had a new card to me in 24 hours. If your bank account number gets stolen, you have considerably less protection, you now have to open a completely new account, get new checks, new bank cards, and spend a lot of time recovering. It's unfortunate that Planet Fitness has gone this route. Not all Planet Fitness Locations are like this, but the one's owned here locally are. I offered to pay for the entire year up front to avoid this. They won't do that on a black card. read more

Started going here with my friend who is the actual member, I'm just the tag-a-long. So far so good. Lots of elliptical machines, treadmills, and arc machines for cardio. A weight machine area with 2 of everything so you don't have to wait long for a certain machine. There is a 30 minute workout area with weight machines and cardio that is controlled by a stop light. You can't be late for this class! Also a 12 minute abs which has a similar set-up to the 30 minute workout. Free weight area is generally full of guys who appear to be serious about lifting, so I steer clear of that department. Locker rooms are really nice, clean, and spacious. They have tanning on sight and I have seen my share of Oompa-loompas strolling about the gym. The employees are hit or miss. This appears to be first time employment for some of the high school age employees, so if you have actual fitness questions look for an adult. If you need to buy a Gatorade ask the teens. It would be nice if some patrons had the option of a tutorial with the weight machines. I have noticed quite a few people using the machines incorrectly which can lead to injury. Seems a few patrons can't or don't read the instructions on each machine. Overall, it's a nice place with a lot of extras for a low price. read more

I'm giving this planet fitness 5 stars because I've been to the planet fitness on the north side and the Beech Grove site is twice as big, has more equipment, and is better staffed. The guys and gals that work the counter here are extremely friendly and helpful. I know planet fitness gets a bad reputation from kicking out people unjustly but in a year of going here I haven't seen it happen once. For 10$ a month for the basic membership I would highly recommend this gym even if you are really muscular you won't be judged. read more

I used to go to Planet Fitness and loved it! The downfall is that they unfortunately don't have a kids area to take kids to be watched while you work out . I have 2 kids and I had to cancel because I wasn't able to get a sitter to watch them. But other than that, I enjoyed going tremendously.
