Most the staff are mean, especially the women who "clean". They abuse PF members, spread false rumors and have actually assaulted members with the mops and vacuum. The manager will do nothing. The mops & water are filthy and stink. The drinking fountain water was brown...eewww. Don't drink the water. The good staff: the 2 sweet young blk ladies. The guys are nice...except for Mike who can be extremely mean. It's poorly managed. The cleaning crew needs to be fired asap, including Bethany, who is also very mean and works out when she should be working and will "clean" when the older very rude cleaning woman should be cleaning but is working out instead bc she's fat. They need to hire a better cleaning staff....the guy can / has been rude too. The manager doesn't care and hasn't told them to be polite to members. The owner should get rid of the cleaning staff asap before he gets a lawsuit. And Bethany, Mike, Naomi and management. There's an older white woman at the front desk who is very, very rude and have made perspective OF members cry she was sooo mean and rude to and regular PF members. Other reviewers seem to have unrealistic expectations of what they're paying for. Planet Fitness is a great place in terms of equipment availability, good maintenance practices, and friendly supportive staff. I've been with them for years and very rarely will you ever see a machine is out of order. If you do, it doesn't stay down for very long. The staff quickly address mechanica issues with their workout machines.Not to mention incredible open working hours. There are folks out there that have unrealistic expectations of the clientele pool for planet fitness. Not everyone is rocking a six-pack beachbody and everyone else is there to focus on themselves. I advise others to do the same with a level of dignity and humility. Pizza nights are fine. If you don't want it, you don't have to. I choose not to and I'm happy with it. If you opt in to get the black membership, definitely try out their hydro massage chairs. It's incredibly customizable and super therapeutic. You can adjust the working range that the machine targets as well as the speed and magnitude of pressure. They also have traditional massage chairs and tanning beds. Enjoy your stay. Price is very cheap and the location is pretty decent being right on I-10 highway. Of course there are better gyms but you get what you pay for, and there's plenty of space to work out here for the timeframe I am looking for which is late morning to afternoon. read more

Not to be confused with Planet Thickness, which is what happens when Barbi and I take a few weeks off from the gym. Planet Fitness is just a shady company on every level. We just don't like them. They're cheap, which is why people love them, but one of the reasons they're cheap is because you will always get charged extra fees when you try to cancel. Often without being told. Often in contradiction from what they'll tell you on the phone or in person. They'll always find a way around any complaint, I think they're actually authorized to be dishonest, it's so rife. A company this big and rich doesn't need to do that, but you can see by other reviews that I'm not the only one that thinks so, and judging by my own experiences that they do it on any given day. Not to mention the strange and illegal prejudice against people with muscles or people who make noise when they're lifting or girls who look stunning and like to wear whatever they like to wear. It is definitely an extreme prejudice kind of place. Not in a creepy religious YMCA way (although that may be behind it), but in a "you're making hateful judgy jealous people feel self conscious" way. And it sells to people's prejudices and hatred. Negativity has no business anywhere and especially nowhere near your workouts but you will feel it here. And it's a selling point. I swear it's helped them rise to the top. Everyone likes to hate on success sometimes apparently. Having said that it's probably the best and cleanest and most new feeling location of Planet Fitness that I've used so I can't go less than a three. The company itself scores 1. I have finally broken the chains of shame and ran from the snowflakes who want pizza instead of healthy food. This chain also discourages people from working out properly or hydrating with the right water containers. If you are seen with a "large water bottle" there are signs posted all over the facilities making fun of people who do that. Two or four members are not going to make that different. So, today, I just turned around and headed home. Three hours later..... I have had a membership at PF for a a couple months now $25 for a month is a good deal but they just kicked me out for having crocs on today . ( I have wore crocs at PF for a while and no one has said anything till now ) I guess he was a manager or something . I was grabbing my bag from the locker room so I could leave and he followed me into the locker room ( kinda extra ) and some one else had crocs on and he didn't say anything to them . Management isn't the best but most of the regular employees are cool . I will be looking for a different gym . I don't like how they play favorites or they must have terrible eyes . Update on my review. The gym was remodeled and basically threw out all of the hammer strength equipment which included all of the machines that I could get a good workout on. Very disappointed as the replacing machines were very lower quality. Instantly cancelled my membership after this change. You can still get a semi good workout in for cheap, but good luck making any progress. read more

Another summer with kids free. They don't know gym etiquette so they sit around on the equipment on their phones, won't let others work in with them, don't put away the weights and through no fault of their own - many are uneducated about lifting so they don't exercise safely. The paying customers are expected to work around them. If you want to do a teen program than do one that teaches them what to do in the gym, how to exercise safely and how to be mindful of all working out in the gym. The staff's hands are tied so there is nothing they can do. If you want to be able to work out I suggest you look at a gym that prioritizes those who pay. read more

I joined this gym because their hours were open later than LA fitness. But now that I've joined I'm trying to work out Saturday at 7 o'clock at night and they're closed. This is Ridiculous. I am so disappointed in this planet fitness. I wrote asking how I can cancel my account and was instructed to contact my gym. When I called they told me I could come in person or send a letter to cancel. So I came in person and when I went to cancel they told me there was a $10 balance on my account I needed to pay first. I asked how this could be when I pay automatically every month by my account and routing number. He had no answer for me as to why I was being charged this $10. I paid it then when canceling he told me I would still be charged for the month! I asked why and he told me I need to cancel a week in advance. I was not told this on the phone. I don't recommend this place as they have people working upfront who literally cannot give you accurate information and cannot be bothered to look up why you have a random $10 feel on your account. Don't listen when they say, "No annual fee!" It's not true! Don't listen when they say," no penalty to cancel." That's only true if you have the basic membership. For those of us who were paying for the extras, apparently you do get stuck with an annual fee even if you cancel after just a month because you don't like the amenities. Sooooooo nottttttg happy! No, people need to see what the issue are. I was home sick with bronchitis for three weeks. My daughter tried to cancel my membership and you wouldn't let her. So I waited until I was better. I've been going to Planet Fitness since I've moved to Katy and I would say I love it. The staff is very nice. They just updated some of the equipment and they also keep the gym clean. The Trainer Derick is amazing. He's very attentive and focused on trying to help me reach my goals. I started as a beginner in the gym and he was very patient. I've also witnessed him be very patient with others . He's a great fitness instructor. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone. read more

You know I like working out here. But after they double and triple dipped into accounts more than once and refuse to correct. Enoughs enough. Then when I told them we would not renew for this when contract up, they took yearly yet again. Oh and they say they don't see any double payments but bank statement don't lie. They took out yearly anyway and said nonrefundable. Nice place to work out at, but scam on money. Not worth it. Beware, They have no number to contact corporate, only can contact stores. It's a nice gym in a really nice area but how is it that the showers don't work and the water doesn't get hot ? I don't think I'll be back

If you enjoy freezing cold showers that never warm beyond 75 degrees you will love this place. It's been years since they've had a shower reach triple digits. Every few months or so I ask management how to fix the issue and they just say to turn on the other two showers so the tankless heater kicks on. I go to different PF's all over the city and this is the only location that has this issue. read more

The manager Adam is very disrespectful and is not willing to help me with my bill while I've had covid for 4 months. He degraded me saying I still need to pay my car note, talked about me needing to be responsible for my bills. I haven't received emails, letters or any communication about my balance, and he wouldn't let me talk, he wanted to hear himself talk. He was totally disrespectful and it's sad that this is the customer service we get after fighting for our health with covid. i'm very upset with my experience. i went in three days ago to try and cancel my membership but they said they've got a rule that you can only cancel your membership from your home location. i moved from colorado to texas a few months ago and have no plans to return back to denver. they told me that there was nothing they could do. then today i check my bank account and they charged me the $40 annual fee for my membership. very frustrated. read more

New year, same ol' me hating the gym but forcing myself to go anyway. It helps that the monthly rate is more appropriate to my general level of motivation (i.e. both are lowwww). Planet Fitness leans more on the "no bells and whistles" side of big-box gyms. Sure, they've got some (especially if you're a PF Black Card member, but more on that later), just not as many as LA Fitness or Lifetime. Looking for a pool, spa services, child care, b-ball or racquetball courts, and a variety of group fitness classes? Then PF is not for you, friend. Satisfied with rows upon rows of various cardio & strength-training machines, free weight area, and conscientious patrons who are more (can't promise always) hygiene-friendly and nonjudgmental? PF's got you covered. That's kind of PF's "thing": encouraging more of the niceties like re-racking weights and cleaning up after yourself (there are cleaning stations EVERYWHERE), while discouraging the intimidating things that suck about big-box gyms - like meatheads unnecessarily grunting or dropping weights and staring death at you if you want some free weight action, and people lugging around huge-ass gym bags wherever they go. (As someone who usually carries around a small drawstring backpack during a workout, this rule was a bit annoying because how else am I going to carry around my towel, phone, and ridiculously gigantic water bottle? Buuuuut I found a way around it... I'm making fannypacks sexy again.) Although there are no spa services, PF still offers decently big and clean locker rooms equipped with showers and plenty of lockers. I've never seen this at other gyms before, but PF has a 30-minute circuit area reserved for people looking for a quick, full-body workout. Or...lazy folks who just want to get in and out but still crave that productive burn...like me. I've also learned to appreciate PF's take on "group classes." Think of them as personal training sessions with a group of other patrons. No, there's no cool theme or fancy equipment involved, and you're not moved into a special room, but each "class" focuses on a particular area: there's one for Abs, one for Legs & Glutes, a Cardio one, etc. Early registration via online or sign-up sheet at the front desk is encouraged, but drop-in's are welcome too. The other day, I was stretching and noticed a class setting up for Abs; I grabbed a mat and got settled in with them without any problems. Remember that Black Card I mentioned earlier? It's $20/month (as opposed to the regular $10) and totally worth it. You get access to tanning services, massage chairs, and hydro-massage beds. You also get to bring a friend to work out, which I know raises all types of red flags if you're coming from other big-box gyms. "No hassle guest pass," they claim, except for forcing my guests to sit uncomfortably through their membership upsell crap every. single. time. NOT UP IN HERE! *sassy finger snap* Bring a friend once a day, every day, for an unlimited amount of days. PF will quickly create a "Guest Profile" with your friend's ID and phone number during their first visit then send you off on your merry way - no awkward sales talk included! The catch is: they need to come WITH YOU, they can only come ONCE PER DAY, and they DO NOT have access to the PF Black Card Spa (no tanning or massages). People get kinda pissy about this, but if you just need a friend or spouse to work out with, this is all you need. Docking a star because customer service could be better. The staff is relatively young and they don't always do a good job enforcing PF's rules. This is where you get people not cleaning up after themselves, re-racking weights, or using the 30-minute circuit room correctly. I'm so excited to be a member of Planet Fitness now. I went today on the free pass they offer & fell in love with the gym. My former gym 24hr firethorne, closed down & I was devastated. However, now I can't wait to start training again & crushing goals again that I worked so hard to become a habit. It's cheaper too, with so much to offer with the black card. I was paying almost $50 a month at 24hr & how I'm only paying $22. Plus I train in the mornings & it's open 24hours. They also have every machine that I was previously training on. I experience sexism and sexual discrimination on the regular coming to this gym. In the handbook it states were all given space for equipments while people stand on top you while doing thrusts or my favorite standing directly behind me in the mirror while doing good mornings on the smith machine, an exercise where bending over is needed. The guys coming up to talk to me and disrupt me whilein the middle of sets. They never follow rules on cleaning equipment and using one machine at a time or putting equipment back. I have been lifting for 2 years now and this is the most harassment and discrimination I have encountered with Planet Fitness. Nothing has ever been done. It is extremely uncomfortable and concerning to know grown men (for the most part) have no logic of personal space, especially for women. As a courtesy in the gym we all give space for people to work in the mirror. An older half bad guy is staring at me from the beginning of my work out (from behind on another machine) and walks around me to stand in front while Im in the mirror doing lifts. I ask if he can move a little to the right and he proceeds to scream no I just sat down. The same guy watching me in the mirror from behind on another machine. As I go to the bench to move to another machine where the mirror is not blocked, Jeffrey an associate employee of Planet Fitness, screams at me to get my stuff and leave. He continued to belittle and defame me saying every time (as Im walking out) Ive been there its always a problem. Mind you I smile at this man as I come in the gym my THIRD time this month. I stated multiple times it is a courtesy to not sit infront people working out and that I have always understood it. I strongly know that because of how petite I am as a female there was no respect. To kick me out as I'm setting up at another machine and also to lie stating I always cause problems here....I am appalled. Also to note, I asked for a complaint form. He gave me 2 cut up pieces of used paper. I am already in contact with corporate. Jeffery does not know how to resolve conflict and would not even acknowledge me as I was stating and demonstrating moving over to another machine was the way resolve this conflict. I always consider everyone in the gym and greet Jeffery with a smile the times I actually go...the amount of sexual discrimination and violation I felt as a woman to be singled out in front grown men to leave because of asking one to maybe move alittle after watching me from behind on another machine....I do not recommend. When I first needed to suspend my account I was able to do it over the phone, with no issue. When I noticed my monthly dues were reinstated I called to freeze my account again because I've been working out of town, I was told that the new policy is that you have to come into the facility to freeze the account because you have to sign something. I explained that I was out of town so that was impossible and asked if it could be faxed or emailed but the guy at the front desk told me there was nothing he could do. Ridiculous. read more

Started this gym about a year ago and it's only gone downhill from there. It was once a GREAT gym. I understand that it's a rule to CLEAN EQUIPMENT AFTER USE, but it's not enforced. It's DISGUSTING to not clean your equipment after each use. There's about 90% of the people I see using equipment that don't clean up after, leaving their nasty sweat all over the equipment. BIG PROBLEM! Another issue would be the "meat heads", this place is starting to become a Golds Gym. I constantly can hear weights being slammed down through my headphones. The gym is suppose to set off an alarm when people are "hulking", I have yet to hear the alarm. Last but not least, the 30-minute full exercise program room. This room CLEARLY has a sign that says "for 30-minute program use ONLY". This is not the case unfortunately, people will constantly just walk in to use the equipment and interrupt your workout program, and then just leave the room without cleaning off the equipment! So disrespectful, I see it happen every time I visit. All of these problems that I've just addressed have now put a damper on me going to the gym because I'm disappointed with the lack of people's hygiene by not cleaning up after themselves. This is probably the worst Planet Fitness I have come to. I travel a lot so i have the black membership. I been to this location 4 times and the employees are always rude except for Dylanna (i hope i spelled her name correctly). My daughter was on this trip with me so I took her to workout with me, which i have done before, on this time she was not allowed to accompany me while I set in the message chair. I feel discriminated against and talked to like a child by staff, this location seems to have a staff who makes women who look like me feel uncomfortable to even ask questions.
