The discrimination I felt during my initial visit to Planet Fitness was truly eye opening. Before I even entered the facility, I was met with a rude look from one of the staff members. Once inside, I continued to experience a passive and unwelcoming attitude. The employee brought up an account from 2018 connected to an El Monte location and stated that I could not enter as a guest through another member because of a past-due balance. She also told me she could not accept payment there and that I would have to drive all the way to El Monte before I could use this location. I was completely unaware of any past-due balance, as the account had been handled and paid for by my ex. To clarify the issue, I called the El Monte location on speaker phone, and they confirmed that there was no longer any balance on the account. Even after hearing this herself, she responded, "Okay, I guess I can take his word for it," while continuing to display an attitude. I normally do not get easily offended, but being treated with that level of disrespect by someone representing your establishment is unacceptable. What made the experience even more concerning was the clear difference in how she treated customers. She was extremely friendly and upbeat toward every man checking in, yet noticeably cold and dismissive toward women. That pattern made the interaction feel discriminatory and deeply uncomfortable. I've been going to the Planet Fitness in La Puente for a little over two weeks now as a Black Card member, and I have to say--I'm genuinely impressed! Even as someone who trains like a bodybuilder, I've found plenty of equipment available whenever I need it. Whether it's free weights, machines, or cardio, I never have to wait long, which is a huge plus. What really stands out to me is the cleanliness of the gym--it's spotless every time I walk in, which makes a big difference in how comfortable I feel working out. I also want to give a special shout-out to Jamie, one of the morning managers. She's always welcoming, professional, and keeps the energy positive first thing in the morning. I know the staff members are new to the management system and want to show power over the tax payers but implementing ridiculous policies ,and i know and am sure if I ask all the members that attend this business if the BAG POLICY is an issue that really matters to be addressed it would be a NO. Also keep in mind that for some of us we travel far from home to work and we carry our work equipment in our backpacks and sometimes we need to wait the traffic to slow down, and to do not waste time we prefer to go to the gym instead. And be more courteous with us and look to the other side and let us be happy as for some of us we have to work out to distress and overcome our anger and anxiety's .we have options but for some reasons we end up at wrong places . HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... I enrolled for the first time and I taught of bringing a guest the first time. Mistake, guest had to enroll right on the spot. The PF LAZY EMPLOYEE That told us he couldn't register us, walked away and kept chatting with his buddy. We struggled trying to use the app for two people, trying to get routing numbers for our account, etc etc etc LAZY, unprofessional, lack of initiative, PLANET FITNESS hire more competent people or at least people that like their job at your company. I've been to multiple Planet Fitness locations and have never had the experience I did here. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. They made me sign a stack of unnecessary waivers and then insisted that my guest (who isn't even a member) have a parent come in to sign paperwork. Staff does a good job with cleanliness. Amenities, however, are very limited. The big appeal is the UV tanning and massage chairs/beds, but they don't mention you only get 5 minutes at a time. No shampoo or soap included in the showers- you gotta pay extra for that at the desk. This is a pretty decent Planet Fitness location. I have the black card membership so I'm able to stop by any location. I try to stop by here on my way home from work and I've been pretty impressed with it. The gym is pretty clean and there are always paper towels and spray bottles to clean your machine before and after you use. I canceled my membership because I don't feel safe working out here. Today was the first day they re-opened the gym after the covid-19 lockdown, and I was thinking I would be walking in to a safe environment. They require a mask to walk in and check in, and when you walk out, at least thats what the girl in the front desk told me. But no mask required when you work out. I saw two people working out with mask, but the others weren't wearing oYes, we can clean the machines but what about when someone, that can possibly have the virus, sneezes or coughs?? It's over. I was first skeptical of Planet Fitness but after a tour and checking out the facility I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice and clean facility, as well as friendly staff. Always greeting as you walk in and as you leave. such a variety of machines to use as well as free weights. I noticed staff is always cleaning up and making sure clean and clear. I am so happy that the membership is very low and affordable. Been coming to the La Puente location since Nov 22 and haven't regretted it one bit. Super friendly staff and clean as a gym can be. You can see the staff cleaning up throughout the day and they have cleaning stations for the members to clean after themselves. 99.9% of the members clean up the machines after usage and the occasional person won't or will not re-rack their weights. Not a deal breaker as the member community holds things down and finds what they need wherever it may be. Evenings get busy but you get what you plan for. I'm in the early 4/5AM crowd so no issues finding a smith machine or anything I need to fulfill my pump. What I like most is how respectful everyone is about the environment as you don't hear anyone having workout orgasms or slamming the weights. If so, you'll hear the alarms blaring which is rare though. 10/10 for this location. read more

I have absolutely no complaints about this gym. In my experience it's always clean, weights are always racked in the correct place, plenty of cardio machines, cleaning stations throughout the gym, air is always fresh and for the price? Can't beat it. I appreciate the work the staff/management is doing to maintain this atmosphere. I only hit PF on the weekends when LA Fitness is closed but everytime I do it's a good experience. Planet Fitness La Puente on Hacienda doesn't care about keeping you safe from COVID... So wear an N95 or double up on your masks if you don't want to get the 'rona! I was in the gym this morning and I noticed about five people not wearing their masks. I understand the occasional taking off the masks for people who have a weak lung capacity... although I keep my mask on the whole time. But there was a young gentleman in front of me on weights who consistently took off his mask. After about 45 minutes of him not having his mask on, I flagged down a Planet Fitness employee (I believe her name was Michelle) and told her. I told her I was feeling uncomfortable due him being unmasked indoors. I was met with a "oh okay..." and she just walked away. I was a bit unsettled by their unwillingness to enforce their own policies. There is a sign saying that each club will abide by the mask mandates of their local government. In LA County, it is required to wear masks indoors when not eating and this guy wasn't eating. So long story short folks... please double mask or wear an N95 when going to Planet Fitness La Puente on Hacienda Blvd, cause the staff doesn't enforce their own mask policy. Very friendly staff, they are always cleaning, greeting and available. Unfortunately, they got stuck with a gym that doesn't compare to the newer and updated locations. Like city of industry or West Covina. Equipment is often out of order, mirrors aren't centered to squat machine, power outage, AC leakage, mirrors are broken and everything takes over a month to be fixed. This gym beat LA and 24 Hour Fitness with their monthly fees, equipment and cleanliness. Its never too crowded and everyone who works here is friendly and keeps the gym clean.
