Men's room was clean and well designed. Sound silly probably, but the best aspect about it was the lighting. There's a newer design (finally) by LA Fitness to have much more subtle lighting in the place. Most of them you get blasted the second you walk in by harsh, oppressive, artificial light. It feels like you're walking into a surgical theater. But the new ones, the lighting is much more refined, I love it. I was in town for a week and was a big fan of this location. The only negative I could even muster was that I remembered I was working out over the remains of the old Holiday Showcase Theaters, where I saw classics like Goonies and Who Framed Roger Rabbit when I was a kid! :(

The gym itself seems like it attracts a good crowd of motivated people and you can definitely feel the energy when you're working out. The owner seems to have a good sense of humor and guides people well in adjusting posture, etc. I'll update the review as I get more experience, but for now, I definitely recommend coming here to check it out if you're curious about CrossFit. They definitely emphasize safety and form!

Victor's skillset is very rare to happen across. He has a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from UB's School of Public Health and Health Professions (where I happen to work in another dept - and I understand that the ENS program is an excellent one). Victor also has an accomplished background in body building (note: the gym is not a body building gym, rather it is family friendly and very welcoming for clients with health challenges). I've had some very challenging exercise related restrictions to work around, and I never expected the results that we have achieved to date. I doubted that I would ever be able to work out in a meaningful way again but Victor worked with me to find a path towards a sustainable fitness plan. Additionally, my two sons work out with Victor. To them, exercise is not a boring chore, rather they view it as a challenge that can be enjoyable and not lacking in creativity. I noticed the other two complaints posted as Yelp reviews. For my part, Victor has always responded to my inquiries in a timely fashion. He's been every bit a conscientious business owner. It is a shame that those reviews may prevent others from discovering this wonderful gym.

This time, my fiancé found Pro Muscle Lifting Club on Instagram and reached out, and from the very start, the owners (or account manager) were incredibly communicative and welcoming. The gym is in Buffalo, about a 15-20 minute drive from Lewiston, but it's absolutely worth it. The equipment is some of the best we've ever seen--seriously impressive--and they even have dumbbells that go up to 150 lbs. they also have cardio machines. We were there during Thanksgiving week and wanted to workout on Thanksgiving Day. To our surprise, they responded to our Instagram message promptly to let us know they'd be open! Meeting them in person only made us more impressed. We liked it so much we upgraded our day passes to a weekly pass, even though we were only going to be there three days. The gym itself is spacious, well-organized, clean, and free of clutter. They have a few machines and attachments we'd never seen before, which made for exciting and challenging workouts that left us both sore in the best way. There was no crowding at all--maybe 20-25 people when we were there--which made for a comfortable and focused workout environment. For bodybuilders, this gym is a dream--there's even a posing room! You're surrounded by other folks sweating but is not a group exercise. It's more like "parallel play" in childhood developmental talk LOL. Each kid in the room is doing his own thing, at his own station, but no interaction. Costly. Membership was nearly $700-1K for a year. Plus in the already cramped exercise area, the owner's dog was roaming near the members working out. Unhygienic. This world has literally gone to the dogs! I mean really, no kidding. My experience with Formula3Fitness and specifically the 5 week challenge, which I have participated…read morein twice, both successfully, has been excellent. One important part that they teach us is about proper nutrition. The program teaches us about healthy eating, planning our meals and tracking what we eat. For me, it really helped me getting rid of some bad habits and getting my good eating habits back. The workouts are great, always challenging us, run by some excellent trainers. They are all very knowledgable, very positive, motivational and stress the right techiques to use with all exercises. Personally,I have several previous injuries, the trainers are great at not only adjusting the exercises due to my injuries, but stressing correct techniques to prevent any further injuries. I have gained strength in my shoulders, back and biceps which enables me to do all the workouts without any pain. Combining proper nutrition and consistently exercising has helped me go from 208 pounds to 163 pounds in the last year. I am feeling better, stronger, have more energy and sleep better. What I really like is the 45 minutes workouts, I make it part of my day and doesn't take up much time. I have worked out at many different clubs throughout my life but my experience with Formula3Fitness has gotten me much greater results in a short period of time, surpassing anything that I thought was possible.
