I love this club. I come twice a week for the morning water aerobics class. Darcy is the current instructor and she's great. The rest of the staff is helpful but not pushy like in other clubs. I have never tried the smoothie bar but it looks good. I hear the club will be moving to a 24 hour establishment. That will be interesting. I recently convinced a friend to join after giving her a 2 week pass on my membership. She liked the water class too. read more

I have been having membership of LA since 2016 my entire family have a membership of LA fitness but this year my brother changed his membership to planet fitness when I asked him why he said it was because the bad customer service and today Mrs Liz give me a bad attitude distracted my gym schedule so I am going to cancel my membership because of poor customer service that these new employees have I just never ever want to go back to that gym again. read more

I'm not sure how I never reviewed this location before. But perhaps because I've only been coming in the last year as place has been open in between Covid shut downs. This has newer machines and some of the other locations around town. It's also a little bit smaller. The pool is nice and clean and the changing rooms are also nice and clean. Easy parking is the icing on the cake for here. read more

Been a member for 3 years. Facility is filthy machines never get more than a quick wipe down. Showers have mold and insects. A lot of broken equipment that's never repaired. Was hoping things would get better after the name change from la fitness. read more

Jake is the one who activated my pass, and just in general seemed like a really nice guy. Best customer service I've received at one of these locations. I'm a fan of LA Fitness, the facilities are large and the place is nice to work out from. This particular LA Fitness has Raquetball Courts and even a daycare center of sorts, whereas my local one doesn't. The pool only has 3 lanes unfortunately, so during peak times it can be tough to get a lane for yourself, although there's not a TON of people who swim at LA Fitness and you'd think it'd be more crowded. The locker rooms are generally relatively clean and overall, I do like LA Fitness. For $30-40/mo, the facilities are great. I don't bother with the personal training and just like to be left alone to workout most of the time. read more

Much better than the other locations in Buffalo I've been to (downtown and Elmwood). They have a large selection of different resources, and while the TRX machines are still in the "personal training section only" area, they have a larger stock in variety of machines that the other two locations. This location also features racquetball courts. Finally, the flow of the gym works really well, with cardio up at the front leading slowly to specific weight machines then the clanging dead lift area. It means the noise from the back isn't bothering you so much if you're on an elliptical. One machine I'm still waiting to see at any location though: a Jacob's ladder. read more

This LA fitness is probably my favorite. The equipment is arranged nicely. They have plenty of treadmills and all the weight machines you could need. It has a pool and b-ball court which I never use but I guess are good to have. Workers can be pushy, bathrooms always smell like pee and WiFi sometimes doesn't work. read more

This is another super nice LA Fitness and one that I come to once in a while since my gym seems to never want to have yoga classes ever. This gym is also huge! It's one of the bigger ones in the local chain and they've even got that awesome snack/smoothie bar that I like. It's very clean here and well kept up, and the staff are very friendly. If I have one complaint about this gym, it's that they don't have the greatest selection of workout machines. I can't put my finger on it, but I just like the ones at my gym in Cheektowaga better, and they're better suited to my workouts and what I'm looking to do. But that's a me thing not this gym hah. Anyway, good gym, good people, and tasty smoothies! I'll be back again if I'm in the area or for a Yoga class. read more

The two main things I love to do is play racquetball, and go in the sauna... both of which are only at 1 location in the buffalo area. I also think the way the want you to cancel your membership is ridiculous. If you do to the gym to sign up then shouldn't make you jump through hoops to cancel... go here, print this out, fill out a form and mail it in.... crazy... should be able to do that in person whenever you want... read more

This location used to be better than the other North Town buffalo area LA Fitnesses. In the past two months it has gone done hill very fast. The sinks in the men's rooms are broken. 1/3 of the toilets are out of service awaiting repair. Most recently the toilet paper has run out in the men's room. The Spa has been down for a week because of a simple automatic chlorination pump that they haven't replaced. Those can be ordered on line or picked up locally. No reason for them to be shutdown so long. Before this the sauna was shut down and out of service. Most mornings the weights are all over the gym from the night before. Also concerning are the number of thefts happening in the locker room. Be sure to look up everything even if you are only stepping away from your locker to use the urinal. A guy had his hoodie stolen out of his locker when he went to pee the other day. When will the manager wake up and start working to get this place back in order? read more

I come here to work out and play basketball. They have stuff to lift weights with and like treadmills to get cardio. They also have a b ball court which I play on some times if people are down to play a pick up game. They also have a pool and spinning room sauna and shower. Took a star off cus always a naked old man in the locker room. Also gets crowded around 5-7. read more

Don't bother going there unless you are already fit and have a nice body/super skinny or else you will be laughed at/made fun of. I was made fun of at the pool because I don't have "perfect" legs. The staff are not friendly at all, the locker rooms are terrible and disgusting at times and NOT a place I felt comfortable changing in . The workout area is also full of creepy men. When I was taking the "tour" a man had his hands down his pants, doing god only knows. Gross! Men would hang around the window where women were doing aerobics and stare and making sexist comments. Overall, a very uncomfortable place to workout. I wish I could give negative stars. Update: Now I get constant calls and emails from them, so annoying!!! I will NEVER go back there again! read more

This LA fitness is way better than any other gym I've been to. I may be bias since I'm living in NYC with overcrowded gyms. But they seem to have overall More machines and weights than any other gym I've seen. The locker room was a bit musty and could of used some pinesol but it looked very nice inside. They have their juice/shake bar that I didn't get to try that yet. I used the online 5 day trial and so far it's been a good experience. They have a pool and. Spinning room as well as basketball and racquetball. I may consider changing to LA fitness if it's similar in NYC and I have one close by. read more

LA Fitness is my favorite gym that I've ever belonged to. I've been going for a little over a year and I love it. There is a nice pool, basketball court, multiple racquetball rooms, and tons of machines and free weights. The gym is usually busy between 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., however, the facility has so many machines, that you are never waiting. They also have a fresh juice bar that sells energy and meal replacement drinks. It's a great facility and not too expensive! read more

I changed to this gym because of location. They have a large selection of equipment with good availability. Unlike other gyms to which I have belonged, they don't make it very convenient to wipe down equipment after use; as a result, most people don't. The men's locker room gets pretty crowded at peak times. The locker room floor isn't very clean and the trash cans often are overflowing. The lockers don't seem to be cleaned very often, which was a problem over the winter. This is a new facility and could be very nice if greater effort was devoted to keeping it clean. read more

I really liked this gym when I first joined because it had a great variety of equipment and was relatively clean. I loved the sauna, the large locker room and the clean feel. However, over the course of the last year, I have seen a sharp decline in the way the gym is run, how it is maintained and how the staff treats its members. The staff turnover is flabbergasting. Very few trainers seem to last longer than a few months. I was selected to win two personal training sessions from a drawing several months ago, so I scheduled an appointment with Trainer #1 when she called me. When I arrived a week later at my scheduled time, she was busy helping someone else, so she "passed" me on to another trainer, who was also busy, so I was told that I could go warm up and someone would be right with me. 40 minutes passed. I was well into my workout by the time Trainer #2 found me. He apologized and we rescheduled for the following week. The next week arrived. I approached him at my scheduled time and he stated he was on his way out the door. He admitted that he had totally forgotten about me, even though I had watch him schedule me in his computer the week prior. He asked to "pass" me off to another trainer. However, Trainer #3 was too busy to see me then. They both made me feel like such an inconvenience that I told them "thanks, but not thanks." Broken equipment gets labeled with "scheduled for service" signs for months. Machines are left racked constantly. When I asked the manager about this recently, he said he would "take care of it". Since then, nothing has changed and this manager now goes out of his way to avoid eye contact with me, refuses to say hello to me and will turn and walk the other way when I enter the gym. Really professional. There are zero employees circulating the floor to help rerack weights, enforce gym etiquette or make sure no one is trying to hurt themselves. Instead, they are all chained to their desks working on cramming as many people into the gym as possible to use broken equipment. I am switching my membership elsewhere. read more

I love working out at this gym. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The general manager JOE and the operational manager Jamie, and Jacob are wonderful.I would not be getting the results I am without Jacob my personal trainer. He motivates me to keep going. Zumba classes are incredible with Laurie and Jessica. I would recommend this club to anyone. Everyone is so welcoming. The juice bar is an added bonus. read more

I've got to be honest here. I walked into this gym, went into the women's locker room, changed out of my regular clothes into gym clothes and was completely horrified by the cleanliness of the bathrooms and locker room in general. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days and the smell was almost unbearable. I was utterly shocked that this place has been open less than a year. I would have believed it has been open for 7 or 8. The way the cardio machines are set up is really not ideal. Maybe I am spoiled by the LA Fitness that I usually go to on Elmwood. The cardio machines here are on the main level and they are all facing one another. This means that each row is checking out the row in front of them and that can make for a really uncomfortable workout experience. Especially when there are people hanging out, standing around, having conversations in the middle of the cardio rows. There's really nothing enjoyable about sweating on an elliptical while two business men are standing right behind me catching up on what they did that weekend. No thanks. There is no privacy here. The gym seemed so cramped too. I ended up walking out after I was in the women's locker room. Such a disappointment. read more

Don't let the number of stars I gave this gym fool you. This is by far the nicest, largest, best equipped gym I've been to in the Buffalo area. There is a huge cardio section equipped with all of the usual...treadmills, elliptical, bikes, stair master, and so many others that I've never even seen before coming here. Then their machine section is huge. They have multiple machines of every exercise, which is nice in case one of them is being occupied. That way you don't have to wait around and stalk that machine until it's done being used. Other gyms that I've been to have only one of each machine (including one squat rack!!!!) which was very frustrating. The free weights section is ginormous. On top of all of the equipment that LA has, they also have three racquet ball courts, a basketball court, large swimming pool with a hot tub, a class room just for spinning with state of the art spinning bikes, a second class room that has three punching bags in it, and two beautiful locker rooms (men and womens obv) with lockers, showers, and a sauna in each. They also have a juice bar for your after workout protein shakes as well as babysitting room in case you have your kids with you. The workers are friendly and the gym is the cleanest I've ever seen. LA Fitness is pricier than most gyms as I am paying 29.95$ a month. However you get what you pay for. The gym really is beautiful and I have access to all of the amenities, including all of the classes and racquet ball courts. There also is no contract with LA so you're not locked in for a certain amount of years. You can cancel at any time! The reason I took off two stars, however, is for a few reasons. The first reason being the sales person that signed me up tried to get me to pay 100$ enrollment plus first and last months payment. Lol, that's a joke. No way was I going to pay that much up front plus 30$ every month after that. I understand the sales person has a job to do but that's a little bit excessive. Long story short, I walked out and the next day the same sales woman called me and gave me zero enrollment. Now I know what you're thinking. Why am I complaining when I ended up getting the deal I wanted? Yes I am happy that that happened I just wish it wasn't such a big hassle. The second reason I took off a star is because LA called me so many times to schedule an appt for personal training that I had to block their number from my phone. If I was interested in a personal trainer I would schedule it myself. And finally the third reason I took off a star is because the sauna in the women's locker room is always out of order. Overall though, I do love LA Fitness and it is the best gym as a whole I've ever been to! I would recommend it over any gym in the area!! read more

The showers got fixed about 6 weeks after my November review (yes really, it took that long). But the hot water heater is broken again, so the women's showers have cold water again. Oh & David K is right about the little bugs with wings in the showers - although I didn't see them today (maybe they froze?), they're a constant in the showers. I'm not an expert, but I think they're fungus gnats. Not harmful to humans, but still, little bugs in the shower - euwwww. Keeping a water heater working is not rocket science. I'm tired. I'm disgusted. And I'm COLD, dammit! Don't join LAFitness. read more

Smelled worse than the primate house at the zoo. Cleaning crew is obviously using mops that have not been properly sanitized and aired - the tile bathrooms made me gag the worst, but the whole place stunk like filthy bodies packed into close quarters. Hint: change the mop head when it smells, instead of pushing around skanky bleach water. For 40 or so bucks a month, it should be way better air conditioned and dehumidified in the hotter months. After all, what is the point of not exercising outside in the summer, except to beat the heat? Very disappointed in my latest trip to the gym. read more

This is my daily gym. Even though I live closer to other locations I prefer to drive here. My friends as well. We all prefer this location for the following reasons. Dave and his staff do a tremendous job with the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility. They are cleaning and servicing everyday. We also attend a weekly spinning class that is top notch. This place is awful! Absolute garbage. The machines are almost always broken. Out of 15 or so treadmills, at least 5 or 6 are always not working. The employees are rude and miserable, and we have had some encounters with nasty members. Despite sending an email to corporate with our concerns, we were dismissed. I recommend no college student ever go here. If you forget to cancel your membership before you leave it is an awful process. Can't cancel on the weekends, can't cancel on the phone, can't cancel online. Now I have to mail in a cancellation request form and here we are in 2018. This location only gets 1 star because there was a lot of machines and equipment to use. I went in this week to see what the gym was like and to check out the pool. Right away I was shown to some guy. I get they they have jobs and have to go about things in a certain order, but they should change their business strategy. The guy (was not nice or funny and was kinda rude) talked to me about a month to month plan, 1 year plan, and a 4 year plan. He showed me his chicken scratch hand written plans. After his confusing verbal speech he asked me what plan I want. Didn't offer to show me around and didn't talk about the company. I had to ask for a tour. After the tour was done he then asked what plan I wanted. He was very pushy. I told him I'll check out the other locations. I asked him about the Transit location and he had never been so he couldn't seem to answer my questions. When I told him I will check that location out he got mad. He said "Oh, you're going to go there and sign up and not with me?" To say the least I haven't even checked out the other location because this place turned me off. A little tip for that location: If you want someone to pull out their wallet and drop 30/mo to $800/4years; you should sell your company and what they have to offer your customers instead of drilling them with prices right away. read more
