Not a whole lot of parking, but location is super close to where I live - one day I hope to forgo my car and bike here :) Anytime I have come the gym is never fully packed, for me that's is wonderful! The crowd is mixed ages, I have seen everything from people old enough to be my grandma to kids as young as 15. A/c is always running - no matter where you work you always feel some sort of breeze - for me this is a winner I hate sweating on top of the work out sweat - yuck! Staff has always been friendly welcoming me in and saying bye when I left, however I will point out, my first day here - I didn't get the tour I was promised, the guy who put me in the system didn't care to show me machines or anything, sadly I felt like the half naked girl next to me who was flirting with him was more important than me a paying customer :( Nonetheless, I very much enjoy this gym, simple clean, and I never feel out of place like some other places you go. read more

Have been a member for 1 month. Black membership at $25 a month. Nothing down. Can quit anytime (go in person). Clean facilities. Plenty of bikes treadmills and stair masters if you're in to cardio. Adequate weight machines and free weights. It's not a glamorous place. Plenty of out of shape people like me trying and some very fit people as well. Staff is helpful. So are members. I have the membership that allows access to the massage chairs and aqua massage chair. A nice touch. Only drawback is no wet area (steam/whirlpool/ pool) like some bigger LA fitness gyms but then again not as expensive. No limits on bringing guests as long as they sign in every time, and I can use any PF anywhere. Yo can do no frills for $10/month. I think that covers it nicely. read more

Was traveling on extended business in Florida and decided to join the local Planet Fitness in Kendall. During my visits the gym was what I expected and no better or worse than any other, self respecting establishment. I knew going in that, at a point, I would need to cancel my membership and did my research, in advance, for what was required of me when that time came. Per Planet Fitness' "terms & conditions", I dutifully wrote and submitted a handwritten, mailed letter to my "home club" (Kendall) requesting that my membership be dissolved. I included valid reasons, and thanked the Club for its time. That was over 2 months ago. I have heard, literally, nothing back from the club. In fact, when I call them to check on the status of my "request", I'm met with responses such as, "the manager isn't available at the moment", or "I'm not familiar with the process". All the while, Planet Fitness continues to bill me for a service I no longer want, and have requested, per their terms, to cease quite some time ago. It is very disappointing as I now clearly see what Planet Fitness is. They are, in their silence and non-responsiveness, the lowest of the low of organizations. They entice you with unbelievable, below market membership fees, but work to keep you tethered to those memberships through silence and subterfuge. A classic tactic of the lowly "used car" salesman, and garden variety con man. I'm surprised that they, as an organization, have yet to be called out and taken to task for their lowly, underhanded and, dare I say, borderline criminal tactics. All I want is to be released of my membership. I went about requesting this in the correct manner, through, what I was led to believe, proper channels. Maybe this "review" may help, but I highly doubt it as ignoring such bad "press" is surely a chapter in this thieves "playbook". read more

Parking is always available and the place is generally clean. However, most of the staff are super friendly except for about 3 that I have noticed are pretty cold or has an attitude when you talk to them. I also don't recommend this gym is you're looking for a good or serious training session. I took 2 of them with the same trainer and although the workouts for sure worked the trainer himself seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there and as if it were a burden, after telling me what machines to use in order and an overall picture he left. The crowd also is a good amount of younger kids as the gym is right in front of MDC. Overall the gym itself is pretty good but some staff tend to be unpleasant. read more

So I've been working out at Planet Fitness (Kendall) for the past three weeks (after a very, very long hiatus from the gym) and I'm really happy I decided to join this gym and location. The gym is very clean and the front desk staff are friendly and personable. I'm extremely happy of the personal training sessions I have been receiving with Cris. He's knowledgeable and pushes me harder than I would if working out alone. I highly recommend signing up for personal training sessions with Cris if you need that extra motivation (like me) or you are new to working out and need someone knowledgeable that can show you the safest and most effective way to exercise. read more

BUYER BEWARE. The gym is clean and there are plenty of machines and equipment but the staff is rude an inattentive. People are allowed to pretty much do whatever they want, anywhere they want regardless of what the area may be designated for. The staff is more interested in socializing with each other than working. WORST of all, in order to cancel a membership they have a "corporate policy" that a membership can only be canceled in person or by mailing a letter. They have no vehicle online or via email to cancel your membership despite being a nationwide company. Its a deceptive trade practice and in my opinion pretty slimy. We have canceled our membership by jumping through these hoops and will never renew. I'd rather pay the extra money for a real gym over this place. read more

So I just called because I wanted to try out the gym for the day (I used to be a member) and the guy on the phone told me it's $20 for the day. Pretty ridiculous they don't offer day passes for less. That's basically getting the membership meanwhile LA fitness has $5 passes and UFC is always promoting free months if you know someone. read more

All of the staff here is so rude. First of all, I was lied to by an employee named Elaine who no longer works there. I was told there was no contract and I could cancel whenever, obviously I understand I should have read the contract myself before signing but hey I was willing to believe they wouldn't lie to me. So after that it was absolutely horrible to get canceled. I called twice and they told me I could cancel at any Planet Fitness, I had moved an hour away, drove 25 min to the nearest PF to be told no you can only cancel at your home gym or go through a process to change my home gym. Heres the funny part, I would give them all my information and it wouldn't come up! However they didnt seem to misplace my credit card charging information. I keep getting billed. I come into the PF that I originally signed up at to cancel, they tell me the fee is $62 to cancel BUT that I also had to pay for that month even though it wasn't even close to my next bill for them. There's always some scam, I left upset. Came back to cancel, I let them know I'm trying to cancel and I'm immediately met with such attitude. The girl was reluctant to help me. Then shes trying to charge me for the cancellation and I'm refusing to pay without seeing any proof of the charges because they've lied to me before, the MANAGER jumps in SUPER RUDE and gets nasty with me. She gave me so much attitude and treated me so horrible. I would understand if I had been rude to them but I wasn't, I had walked in calm and polite. Then the owner comes AND he starts to give attitude as well and I explained to him how his other employees have lied to me before so he could understand why I wouldn't want to blindly pay for something, he was like that's just how we do it here and walks away absolutely not caring of my situation at all. Don't ever sign up for a Planet Fitness. You cannot call customer service because they are like individually run and owned. As for the actual gym itself, wasn't very impressed. I'm not an avid gym goer but they didn't have a lot of equipment, no free weights. Not sure this place is for those who are truly trying to get fit. It is full of Miami dade students who use the place for social hour. They lay all over the machines chatting and playing on their phones. The employees are no better, sneaking in the bathroom to text instead of cleaning or manning the front desk. I try to ignore them but it's frustrating when you're trying to use the 30 minute workout area and 2 girls are hanging out on one machine for over 30 minutes! I would like to work with the trainer there but it looks like he's there just to pick up girls and not do any actual training. It's convenient so I will keep my membership, just a warning to those who are thinking about joining this gym. read more
