Love this location. Yeah, it may be a little worn out in the bathroom and it's crowded, but the fact that they have deadlift for olympic weightlifting? (def 10/10 for me). You have no idea how hard it is to get these approved for other planet fitness locations. This is the only location I've been to so far, that has this (not one, but two sets of equipment!). The assisted equipment at all locations are absolutely horrible - let's be real. It's not a 5 star review b/c the bathroom/lockers def need an upgrade. And why can't you add a a chalk container? This is not a judgment free zone ! I've been coming to this gym since 2012 and now there's new management They allow LGBT and women to get harassed here. I was sitting on a machine working out, minding my own business, and a man comes up to me telling me that that was his seat like a child and I told him to await his turn so he decided to stand right in front of me literally 1 foot in front of me. He was so close I could smell his breath and I told him to please get away from me because he continued to harass me asking me to get up so he went and called the manager on me and the manager was also harassing me. The manager saw that there was another machine just like the one he wanted and when I told the manager he could sit right there, he continue to tell me that he doesn't want that one he wanted the one that I was on which is the same exact machine. The manager told me I don't have gym etiquette, which just doesn't make sense because I was sitting there first and that man was obsessed with harassing me when there's another machine just like the one I have so the manager ended up, kicking me out at every single location which is kind of funny because every time I walk into that gym, she would always look at me like she didn't like me when I called corporate corporate basically told me that they don't care about their customers and that they only care about their workers so that's why I got kicked out because I supposedly was being rude to the manager, which I was not but they said I was being recorded so they saw me cussed in the video. They watch you while you work out and they can hear you unfortunately they heard the guy in the manager harassed me but they did not care and I even saw them talking about me behind the desk but obviously that doesn't matter cause I'm just a customer and we're only paying $20 read more

I'm from out of state and wanted to keep up with my work out schedule from my where I live. So went to this location in Modesto Ca. Looked okay from the main entrance, but once you were inside and started to work out I started noticing how worn the equipment was. Some of the cables on the machine were loosening the plastic wrap and exposing the cable wire and made the cable roller drag. Seats were torn or getting ready to tear. The rubber floor was completely ripped and a trip hazard. The planet fitness I go to is pristine and when somethings are worn out, they lock out the machine until it's replaced. I explained to one of the workers what I had seen ,He said that they have stuff on order and don't lock out the machines. When you're a black card member an paying $20 a month plus renewal fees they need to make sure that the machines are top working order and not worn out. read more

I've been a member since 2019, never had an issue till the other day. Scanned my membership and then was told my annual fee was due. The gentleman Xavier told me I had to pay 10$ if I wanted to workout. My friend has the black card and can bring a guest so he mentioned to use his pass and the guy denied him and said he couldn't, however thats what he pays for monthly to have a guest, Xavier said if he allowed it he would have to allow it with others meanwhile he was allowing people to walk in without scanning there membership thing then you're good no need to scan and wouldn't even speak to us much just said pay the 10$. The other gentleman workin was very nice and provided a more explanation stating my payment was still in pending, so I understood the 10$ fee however Xavier should not be pickin and choosing who he can scan in or not and he could've provided better customer service read more

This planet fitness isnt my go to but im happy I went. I decided to stop by because someone told me they had squat racks so I had to check it out. I can confidently say that attitude reflects leadership at this one because everyone from management and down was very helpful. It was very clean and tidy and the bathrooms weren't like other planet fitness gyms I've been to. Im happy to say that when I move to modesto ill be going to this one. read more

I went a few times to this location during this summer and it was always crazy busy/crowded. Planet Fitness has this free summer program for high school students to use the gym and it is definitely being used. I think it's really cool for the kids, but it just makes going to the gym not that enjoyable because almost all the treadmills or the stair masters seem to be taken. With that many people too, it just seems like the equipment is a little less cleaner than usual. Sometimes the parking lot has glass on the ground, which makes me think vehicle break ins are prevalent. It's just an assumption though. I normally go to the Manteca location near my home, but I got the chance to work out here for a few days while my daughter had some state testing downtown. In general, I like the equipment better in this location. There is a wider variety of machines for each muscle group and the quality of the machines seems more upgraded than the ones in Manteca. The dumbbell are is not as large here though and does not have as many benches. I also noticed that the only mirror here are just a small wall by the dumbbells. I'm a mirror person. I watch my form and technique and I also find it motivating to watch my progress. The location is very convenient. It's right off the Briggsmore exit, which was great. I was able to get in and get out right to the freeway. The bathrooms were a little on the dirty side when I was there, but nothing to crazy. It's a pretty good gym. I'd definitely comeback when I'm in town. read more

The staff is friendly for the most part, they keep cleaning supplies available to wipe down machines, ad the machines are in working order and fix them when something breaks. My only complaint is when people are on their phones sitting on a n machine and don't get off especially when it's peak time and others are waiting to use. read more

It's nice going to the gym, where I get along with my teenage son. It's like we signed a peace treaty here. This gym is exceptionally clean, where everyone wipes down the machine after each use. There are always two big rolls of paper towels, cleaning sprays, and antibacterial gel at each cleaning station. I love their signs and mottos - judgment-free zone, no lunks, and no critics. Well, everyone's a critic, and I have complaints about the 30-minute circuit area. You're supposed to move your butt to the next machine after the red light. But they mostly sit, check their phone, stare into space, or talk to their friend. I understand that the lighting system will be off when we leave for the cleaning stations, but please just keep it moving in there. Instead of telling everyone to move (mostly young teenagers that evening), we left to a less crowded area. Good thing there are plenty of machines for everyone. I could've asked an employee to move things along, but I saved my energy for working out. It's only $22.99/month for the Black Card, which lets you visit other locations, bring a guest, and gives access to their massage chairs, hydro massage and tanning beds, and red light therapy room. I haven't tried any of these, plus I'm not interested in tanning beds. You end up orange and wrinkly, they should ban those things. This location is behind Outback Steakhouse. That's just cruel, tempting us with smokey grilled steaks, deep-fried Bloomin Onions, and buttery baked potatoes after a workout! read more

This PF is a little bit different from the other ones in the area I've been to. There now are a LOT of free-weight machines. You load up with plates rather than setting a pin on a stack of weights. There are still a lot of those cable-operated machines though. In the back of the gym are 2 powerlifting stations. The Lunk Alarm has mysteriously disappeared off the wall! I talked with a sweet young guy at the front desk and he told me that another fitness company bought this gym. Now this one is my favorite! I like the way the equipment is laid out now, with the free- weight body building stuff at the front. There's no longer a specific area for 30 minute circuits though, which might make certain customers sad. The only downside for me was that some of the equipment could use a little maintenance, but this doesn't cancel out the many improvements at this gym. Definitely will be coming back here more often! read more

This morning we came she asked me again to check in my husband which she check her computer before. I told her that my husband is in my file as a guest and she said no. The entire gym is out of paper towels! COMPLETELY UNSANITARY! There is no staff wiping the machines down. When I asked for a towel he gave me a dirty rag and said that the paper towels are on backorder. I asked to speak to a manager. He said she wasn't available. The gym is right next to a Walmart and Winco. Logically, the manager should be at the store getting some paper towels until the back order is filled, nope she is not! It doesn't make any sense! I started going to the Briggsmore location because the red light therapy and hydro massage beds were never in working order at the Orangeburg location and now I have to deal with this! I had been telling friends and family about the fantastic hydromassage chairs at Planet Fitness. When I purchased my black card membership, I remember reading that I could bring a guest to test out the facilities. Last night my son-in-law asked me about joining a gym. Seemed like a great opportunity to show him around the closest Planet Fitness. So we dropped in to try out the hydro chairs and then sign him up. The chairs were occupied, so we decided to wait until they were free. When it was our turn, the fellow at reception started to punch in my information, then asked for the info of my son-in-law. I told him he was my guest. It was then that the fellow informed me that the guest policy doesn't apply to the services for black card members. "Just doing my job". Way to go, Planet Fitness. You've made a loyal customer feel like a fool and turned away a potential client just as he was about to become a member. I won't bother bringing my friend who was also interested in Planet Fitness. In fact, I won't bring anyone. I once worked for Marriott. The corporate culture at Marriott is to provide superior service to the customer. It's a goal based in spirit, not bureaucracy. As an employee, you're encouraged to think on your feet and think about the context from the customer's point of view. At Planet Fitness, you have policies that are poorly communicated, employees who blindly follow petty rules, and you have a customer experience that turns away clients and prospects. I'm an avid 30 minute circuit training user. They have a very nice 30 minute circuit training station assembled near center of pf business. The dilemma which occurs is the people infringement that impact a 30 minute circuit training sequence...people wander in there to workout, not aware of the station purpose. They would plop on equipment do a set,rest,do a set rest, do a set, get on their phone and just hang out. Of course for the 30 minute circuit trainee this takes up station(s) as your enroute sequentially..so I try to work around it, but very disruptive, as your goal is to 30 minute sequence complete as designed. Now with that said, I blame pf for not making it clear to enrollees the purpose of this exercise station, and not the straggler who ignorantly interfered your stationed workout. The answer is simple. 1) post, bold larger 30 minute circuit training only signs at walled entrance, and back half moon wall for obvious understanding. 2) As new pf enrollees, insure that emphasis of the 30 minute circuit training & pf360 and it's purpose for their understanding of courtesy... 3) or, that if the new enrollees decide to workout in thus area, to understand the 30 minute sequence and be aware as to not tie up equipment. In fact I would suggest similar at the pf360 location as well... I was told by pf employees if people lounge or tie up equipment in this area of training to come and get the employee? Now, that's another interference of 30 minute circuit training to chase down anyone as your focused to complete the 30 minute sequence... Anyway, it's a good thing that all ages are trying to stay fit, and I only blame pf management for not emphasizing areas that are designed around organized timed exercise for those who follow these programs..(pf360 & 30 minute circuit). This is an update to my review from two years ago when I first transferred from the gym on Orangeburg. I don't know what happened. This place used to be great, but has gone downhill considerably, and I'm beginning to wonder if they are all run the same: cheaply and with low quality. The fly machine has not worked right for weeks, if not months. The seat keeps collapsing from underneath me. The "Temporarily Out of Order" sign that was on the machine last week was not there today (4/30), so I tried using it. The seat was still loose and what's worse: The sign was under the machine out of sight! I didn't know it was under the machine until I stopped using it due to the frustrations I had with it. I tried using another machine for my pecs in the "30-minute" workout area, but the seat doesn't adjust right on that one either. I tried complaining to management about the issue, which brings me to my next problem: They weren't at the desk! I cannot find them for most of the time. I don't know if they need more employees or what, but this is ridiculous! Attention management: Please get the fly machine serviced and keep the signs on the machines if they don't work. I hate to see you get sued because someone unknowingly uses a machine that is out of service and gets hurt! read more

The dirtiest location I have been to! I have been to many Planet Fitness locations and this is by far the dirtiest!! I am forced to use this location as the Planet Fitness East is being remodeled..(we'll see). I am here at 1am, not crowded but there are paper towels everywhere, water bottles that are empty or half full all over the place. After being a member since 2015 I am Super disappointed at the fact that they started charging me due to the fact that the clubs reopened without my acknowledgement and have been charging me for two months now. I recently used my black card benefit (you can visit any PF location for free) to use this locations gym equipment for an hour. Regardless of anyone's personal beliefs or viewpoints we are still going through a pandemic and it was definitely taken seriously at this location. All of the members were wearing a mask, as were all of the staff. The facility appeared clean and while I did not use the locker room on this occasion, I have been to this location pre the pandemic and it was always reasonably clean. The main reason though for me taking the time to write this review is because of a great experience I had a few weeks ago with a member of this location's staff. One of the employees went out of their way and offered to pay (out of their own money) for two Gatorade drinks when the Apple Pay service was down and I did not have a physical card on me. *To be clear there was no inappropriate intents with that action. They merely were providing (at an exceptionally high level) good customer service when they couldn't get their machine to work. While I respectfully declined the offer, I still really appreciated it. You could tell they just cared about keeping their customer happy and that goes a long way for retaining them as my primary gym. Excellent job! I only wished I had remembered the dudes name so I could give an official kudos for a job well done. read more

I have had lots of great experiences here but today was not one of them. I requested time in the massage chair after my workout and you can imagine my surprise when I was told to use a chair that someone was already in. I was told I could "wait" for a chair to open up. I stayed away during covid. And finally came back after a year off. They are keeping this place immaculate. I see all of the assistants, trainers and employees cleaning. I am honestly very impressed with how clean everything is. There are a couple of machines that are in need of service but I'm sure they will get to them soon enough. The stair master kept shaking while me and other girls were using it. 2 years ago my friend got banned from wearing a sports bra but there was girls with sport bras and bags on the floor. The calf machine has been broke for around 6 months. That is the kind of gym this is. Many machines are broken at any given time. Today I used a hamstring machine and the bolts and nuts were loose as can be. It's a safety hazard/violation. The gym has a very dirty feel. When I first started going to this location, I used to rant about how clean and well functioning all the equipment was. Now, I'm tired of it. The owners don't care about complaints from their customers. They have heard it all and don't improve anything about this gym. A lot of the customers think it's okay to have broken equipment as normal, saying it's still worth it for the price. That is very sad to hear because that's not the way customers should normalize the condition of this gym. Customers are paying for all machines and services to be operational.
