I like this location, Fashion Square, if for any reason because the staff is very friendly! You would be hard pressed to enter or leave the gym without some acknowledgment from the staff. It's clean, friendly, plenty of equipment and I love that you can pick your own music to be randomly interjected into the house lineup via Rockbot! Although it is situated in an old mall, you really are around everything if you have other errands to do before/after the gym. Keep it up PF! read more

I enjoy this gym a lot because of the location and the privacy of the gym. I've seen other planet fitness gyms and it's either in sketchy areas or everyone can see you workout from the outside and I can't stand that. I'm your average gym person who thinks everyone is watching them so I choose places that are hidden. The staff here are kind, always a clean facility, never too many people working out. Massage chairs need an upgrade but still do the job. I'm getting back into fitness because i've done almost every weight loss pill, food, drink you can name but the only thing that's been consistent is to just workout for an hour a day. Tip: This current location will be moving to a bigger facility with hydro massage machines. Exciting!! read more

I signed up for Planet about a year ago now. I have always enjoyed coming here and never really had any issues. I dont use the shower/locker room really, but I can attest they are not always in order. I like the selections of equipment here, its a bit different from other gyms are the weight sections are limited. They only have machines, mainly focusing on the cardio areas (they have tons of treadmills and bikes). But honestly, for what i need its fine! You can still get a good workout in using everything here. The best part is, its never that busy! i never had to fight for parking or wait for machines i LOVE that. The gym is attached to the mall so you do park on the first floor of the garage, but you just walk right in. Super easy. The staff is always nice and they listen to member's suggestions to get a water bottle refills station - they actually installed it!! Awesome!! read more

Planet Fitness (Orlando | Fashion Square) has declined in quality over the last few years. More recently, the current acting manager, Andrew, needs to go and take his facility changes with him. He talked down to me, the member who has been using the space for years, trying to tell me how the equipment is used. He makes bad, unilateral, prejudiced decisions without considering how members actually use the space. His decisions are sexist and ageist. He has created a segregated space based on how "he" thinks we should use it, not how it's actually used. He has reduced member access to weights, incline benches, and mirrors. Apparently, he thinks only bulked-up men should have access to those amenities that everyone pays for with their membership. When you are at the gym to work out efficiently, and not one of the many people that sit around on equipment texting, shopping, playing games, watching videos, or talking on the phone, then don't go to this location. Andrew needs to go so we can regain the ability to get a decent workout in using equipment the way and where we use it, not the way he wants to pigeon-hole us into using it. read more

I've been a member at this gym for a couple years now and in general, I'm very satisfied and have few complaints. Pros: Hands down THE friendliest staff I've ever come across at a planet fitness gym. Every single employee is very welcoming, attentive, ready to assist and always seems to be in a good mood. Can't say enough good things about them. The gym is consistently kept clean, the tanning & massage chairs are a great perk for black card members like myself, and for the most part, there is hardly ever a piece of equipment out of service. The layout is open, there's a ton of cardio options and I appreciate the generous amount of smith machines they have available. Cons: The location is a bit odd and if you've never been, good luck finding it for the first time. It's attached to a mall that is pretty run down and lifeless. Because of its location, there are zero windows with a view of outdoors (other than at the entrance) so the fact that there is no natural light or opportunity to look outside a window (other than windows that face the mall) throughout your work out can be a somewhat depressing setting. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it could be for others so it's worth mentioning. Besides this drawback, there isn't really anything else negative to say. While it's fairly well known that PF isn't exactly a preferred gym for those who take their fitness routine "seriously", it still has an adequate amount of options for equipment to get a complete workout accomplished. And even though gyms like Crunch and LA fitness might offer more amenities, the laid back atmosphere here is desirable for those looking for a more low key environment without booming music and a super packed crowd at all hours of the day. Having been to a number of PFs around the country, I'll say that, on a positive note, this location is particularly well equipped, easily accessible, and visibly clean. As such, it has every potential to be a five-star gym, but there's one big problem: the air quality is awful. If you're at all sensitive (is in allergic, asthmatic, or...), you'll immediately notice upon entering that the A/C is blowing funky (presumably moldy?) air into the space at high velocity. I felt unwell after a short time and had to abandon my workout. Fortunately, this isn't my home club, and I was just visiting. read more

Update! 3 Stars because you can't get a better deal for a no-frills gym (but a few things could be improved). The first big update is they have wifi now! I'm all about listening to podcasts while jogging (see: slowly walking on an incline while panting for my life) so this was a big upgrade in my books! There are still your normal gym machines (with a very small free weight section) which works for me. I understand why more active gym-goers may not be super stoked about the fact that they ring the "Lunk Alarm" when anyone drops weights or grunt too loudly, but for my ridiculously light gym routine I'm not bothered by it. For $20/month I have a pass that allows me to bring a guest every time. That's an insanely good deal no matter how you look at it! Move never been there and had to wait for a machine (maybe I'm missing peak times?) so it's very convenient. I use the showers and locker room often and though occasionally the shower floors are drenched from the previous person (guys- it shouldn't be this hard! Close the curtain fully!) they are perfectly adequate. One thing that bugs me is their lack of working hair dryers. When I first started at PF they had two available and I let then know when one had died but was told they probably wouldn't replace it. Now there's one and it is also on it's last leg. I'm not sure that the cost of replacing these is so prohibitive for them to choose not to... It's annoying for those of us who now have to lug around our own hair dryer. Front desk guy had a power trip while I was trying to enter the gym, he insisted that it was company policy to have a picture of me uploaded into their database and I did not want my picture taken and he would not let me enter I asked him to show me the policy at which he then looked for it for 5 minutes and couldn't find it then wasted 5 more minutes calling his manager and finally let me in after successfully wasting a bunch of time. At the start of the pandemic, the CEO of Planet Fitness sent out an email that included a video stating that all accounts would be put on hold as a result of Covid 19. I was happy with that decision and it was totally understandable. Now that I've been fully vaccinated, and have finally been approved to get back to work, I decided I would start making my way back into the gym (masked of course.) As I was looking into how to RE-activate my account, I found that I've been charged for the past 10 months. I checked my emails and have found the email from planet fitness on 4/13/20 where the CEO Chris Rondeau announced the initial freezing on my account. The next email that I received was on 6/4/20, and it was in regulates to their stance on the BLM movement. There was no other email from PF about my account status or anything else. Keion, The manager of the Planet Fitness - Orlando (Fashion Square), Fl, Fl told me that EVEN THOUGH I have not stepped foot in to Planet Fitness Orlando location in over a year, and EVEN THOUGH The CEO sent out an email telling me that my account would be frozen, and EVEN THOUGH I had been furloughed from employment for a year, they would not be able to refund my account for months I was not aware I was even being charged for. I'd also like to add that I started my phone call with them stating that I DIDN'T want to cancel my membership. I was looking to Reactivate it. Austin, the main person I spoke to on the phone told me that they've received a "bunch of other calls about this." I made an angry Facebook post about it, only to discover 6 more of my friends didn't realize that they were currently being charged too! When your own employees say that they are getting a bunch of calls about the same thing, maybe there's actually a bigger problem. They want to charge for services not used, so now I have to go in person to cancel a membership I was expecting to be keeping for much longer than they are bilking me for. Very disappointed. Now I have to report them to BBB and write a complaint directly to corporate. Not only have they lost business, they've lost respect. ***EDIT*** While I appreciate the swift reply from the management, it only adds more questions to the problem at hand. In the response, the Planet Fitness representative puts the onus of figuring out when my Planet Fitness reopens. Meaning that it is MY responsibility to check their website daily until they reopen. The problem with this argument is that I know several Planet Fitness members from a different location that received email notifications of their primary location reopening. They were given notice before they were charged again. This means that a Para toy there are different operating procedures for different locations, and clearly that has caused MUCH confusion. The employee who admitted to more people calling with my same problem is further evidence of this confusion and lack of clearing from the party who is charging my card. Notice of resuming charges should be a uniform decision across the board for all locations. Asking the members to check regularly for their location to open is unacceptable and lazy. If people I personally know received email confirmation that charges were going to be resuming, then I should have gotten one too. But the representative who responded to my initial review seems aware that no email was sent to their clients. read more

I'm pretty happy with my membership. I'm not looking to bench a small SUV, so having a weight area and organized areas for cardio, arms, legs and abs is perfect for my fitness level. $10 a month with an annual maintenance fee is pretty reasonable! I work out here 2-3 time a week after work and love that this location is never overcrowded. Larger gyms are a bit uncomfortable for me. Everyone always seems to be arse to elbows at other gyms and I don't like being bothered by others when I work out. I'm not a fan of the free bagel and pizza days, that's not the reason I go to the gym, but it nice to see the option, I guess. I know PF gets a bad reputation for "not being a real gym", but I like the atmosphere and I find the equipment useful. I'm starting to see the gains! read more

Completely new Gym opened at the Orlando Fashion Square Mall. They have two option for Membership $20 a Month for 1 year, or $10 a Month and it's month to month. Brand new equipment but no classes, pool, or aerobics. It's mostly Treadmills, and Circuit training. They call it Judgment Free Training and don't allow what they call "Lunk" training. It's a gym, and it's cheap. You get what you pay for, but I'm a cheapskate. For $10-20 / month it's hard to complain about a gym. The hours are pretty good, and the staff is friendly. They have a decent amount of treadmills, elliptical, bikes, etc - and this is where the majority of the gym goers spend their time. They have a pretty limited amount of free weights, and have eliminated all real bench press in favor of the guided versions. They have 3 pulley towers with various attachments, pull downs, row machines, etc. They also have a "30 minute circuit" area which provides a full body circuit of machines on a timed workout. This is helpful for people who are unfamiliar with a gym, or not good at planning their workouts. "Black Card" membership ($20/month) allows you to bring a guest any time you come, and also allows you to go to any Planet Fitness you want. They also have massage chairs and free tanning for Black Card members. While I've certainly been to much nicer gyms, and would enjoy the luxuries of things like nicer locker rooms, pools, basketball/tennis courts, etc - I can't justify spending $75+ / month on a gym membership. I have been a Planet Fitness member for about 3 years now with plans to change. read more

I joined Planet Fitness because of the price and the promise that there would be none of the loud, gallon water carrying, grunting dudes that love to take up all of the good spots by super setting. They've held true to that promise and offer an extensive amount of cardio equipment so there's never a wait. The downside is the weight area, it's small, not extensive and so I often find myself waiting long periods of time to do any lifting unless I'm willing to go either super early or super late. The free weight area is crowded with 2 people so it can be a challenge. Otherwise it's a clean place, and the people are friendly. read more

I took the plunge and joined this gym and I have been a handful of times now and actually kind of enjoy it. I know, weird. What I enjoy: - When you have a friend refer you, your sign up fee is less than $5 - Only $10/month - So many machines, something is always open - TV on each workout machine with iPod hookups. (i don't use the TV but I like to think that everyone else is distracted by theirs that they don't see me sweating and panting next to them - So clean! - Hours are great: Open Monday at 12:00 AM until Friday at 9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Yes, it's connected to a mall but you really don't notice it once you are inside, just feels like a stand alone gym. This place is so much better than the other gyms with the muscles. I love this place especially because of their no judgement zone and the cleanliness of their facility. Every machine has a tv attachment which is starting to become the norm in most fitness centers. But the really nice thing about this place is there are ALOT of stations with the spray and paper towels so you can clean the machine after you have used it. Another ting I like about this place is there are no men/women grunting are grrr-ing while they are lifting, so I dont feel like I am surrounded by a bunch of bears or monsters, I feel like I am surrounded by humans. Lastly its a great price!! $10/month if you do that one location, but I spend about mid 20s so that I can go to multiple locations and also bring in one guest anytime! read more

Ok. I'm done being butthurt. Yeah, I had one very, very bad experience at this gym, due to some extreme inflexibility when I was opening my account, but that's all taken care of now. At least for now. Word on the Yelp is that Sunshine Fitness LLC makes it especially hard to cancel, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. As for the gym itself, it's a solid 3 stars. The usual PF upsides are its extremely low cost, among the lowest I've ever seen and only $4 off the lowest. Besides s/he who shall not be named, the staff has been pretty solid too. The downsides are that it's absolutely no-frills, besides locker rooms and tanning. I've never done personal training, but I never see anyone else doing it either, which makes me think it's not what the ads say it is. This is just a gym, plain and simple, and what you get out of it is 100% up to you. Another downside is that it gets way too crowded in the weight area in the after-work timeframe. Usually seems to be enough cardio machines. If anyone from PF read this, I would really love to see just some simple bars to do pull ups. Right now the single assist machine is it, unless you want to co-opt a weight bench. All are usually occupied. That is all. read more

Joined this Gym a month ago, and like many who do..it took me a while to commit to going. Consequentially it was well worth the effort. Planet fitness is a well stocked gym with Cybex and Smith machines and free weights. Not to mention tons of cardio, a few tanning beds, massage chairs, and very knowledgeable staff members. Also, included is a quick 30 minute full body workout set of machines for those with limited time. I have been there twice already and both times (weekday and weekend) I had not problem with wait time on machines. The gym is clean, well stocked with various machines and all the tootsie rolls one can eat. The best part is if you get a "black" membership, it is about .50 cents a day to work out, you have full access to all machines, tanning beds, massage chairs and can bring one guest for free every time. read more

Love this location! It doesn't get overly crowded unless you go during the prime hours (that seems to be 4-7pm) and there are lots of machines to choose from. I wish there was some more room to work out on the floor, like using a yoga mat and doing ab exercises -- there isn't really room for that anywhere. I enjoyed this gym until it came time for cancellation. I brought in my written notice of cancellation, because at sign-up, the person who helped me said that I just needed to give written notice to cancel my membership. The young lady (maybe she was new) working the desk when I turned in my letter didn't tell me that they had a form to fill out, as well. Fast-forward two years later. Upon reviewing one of my credit card statements, I found that I was still being charged for my membership. Don't ask me HOW I missed it before this, but I did. My bad. I called the Planet Fitness office to cancel and to see if they could do anything to assist me in getting 'any' of my money back. I told the manager on duty that I didn't expect to get a full refund, because I should have noticed the problem months ago. I just expected a good faith gesture. Upon calling back 3 times, I have received nothing but an apology (and a half-baked one at that) from management. The owner intends to do nothing. Supposedly, if they don't have anything on file, then they consider themselves free of any responsibility. What if they had lost the form they wanted me to fill out? I mean... they still wouldn't have proof. Beware, people! Planet Fitness is franchised and this particular franchise is owned by someone who has no interest in making a previous customer happy. UPDATE: The owner responded to my Yelp review, but never did anything for me. They once again responded with 'there is nothing we can do'. During the pandemic for covid-19 my membership was to be on a freeze, while the membership did not go on a freeze, I contacted corporate and got not one, but three nasty representatives that told me that in order to cancel my membership I had to go to my "home club" coincidentally I signed up online, there for not having a "home club" to go Still Went to four different locations where the employees were actually nice, but gave the same information, "it says your account is on hold" , I have still gotten charged every month thru the pandemic and up until now (Nov 2021) after being told several times it shouldn't be charging me. I have the bank statements to prove. Not only is this a huge inconvenience to me it is a massive money sink as well, since I haven't even been able to work out at the facility due to my account being on a freeze, so essentially I'm getting charged for nothing. Joined recently after having horrible "people are judging me" moments at my former gym, LA Fitness. I've been very happy so far from the sign up, quick orientation/tour, and using the gym. Place is kept super clean, the employees are always friendly, and machines in good working order. I feel that I don't get judged here (seriously!) and can run on the treadmill without people staring at me. Definitely loving my experience so far and it's only been a few weeks. This gym is great!! I've been a member of Planet Fitness for years but just recently moved so I switched my gym location. This one is by far the nicest I've been to yet. Let's get some highlights: 1) It's HUGE. 2) Each cardio machine has it's own individual TV & on the treadmills, they have iPod hook ups so you can watch your movies/tv shows/whatever on the screen on your treadmill. Badass! 3) The staff is super nice. I haven't been to a Planet Fitness where they aren't nice and this one is no exception :) 4) Location is great. It's kinda weird to me that it's in the Fashion Square mall (literally) but I actually really like it. They painted the windows inside so people in the mall don't stare at you and there is always plenty of parking since it's right by the garage. Overall, love this Planet Fitness. Well for what I pay ($10 a month) you can't really beat that. There are no classes or sauna but that comes with the territory of only paying $10. There is a tendency of overcrowding usually on Mondays and Tuesdays around 5:30 but hey that's every gym. The machines are pretty decent but I sure wish they had a rowing machine! They keep it very clean for the most part and the staff is generally pretty nice. I don't think there's been anyone who has ever been unfriendly. I notice sometimes there are creepers who stare and I become unfocused on my workout due to self consciousness but maybe that's just me. I do like that they provide pretty little pink blow dryers in the girls locker room if you're in need of getting ready at the gym, it's convenient. Overall I have to say this gym holds up to expectations, again for the price. It's 24 hours a day and meets my expectations! read more

My boyfriend opted for the $20/month membership at Planet Fitness for its benefit of being able to bring in a guest (that unfortunately means, me) unlimited number of times throughout the duration of his membership. When he signed up in December of 2010, it was still fairly new, less than a month old. So we figured we could take advantage of the deal (sign-up fee waiver) and enjoy not having to deal with crowds. Although they've gotten a lot busier now, I haven't had to wait around for a machine to open up yet. We go in 3-4 times a week after work to take advantage of their machines and the 30-minute express workout rotation...station? Yeah. I'd say it's a pretty good facility if you just want to go in and do your thing for an hour. No classes, just you and the machines. I've been to 3 locations and this one is my favorite. It's very clean and the people using the equipment keep up with wiling down their machines. I like the layout of the place. I'm don't feel lost looking for things when I'm here unlike at other locations. They have plenty of machines and weights for whatever you want to do. The only negative about this place is the whole "lunk" thing. My brother came from out of town to visit me and went to work out with me. Some other guy dropped his weights and the alarm sounded. The manager assumed it was my brother because he's muscular. I think that's a bit discriminating. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. If I could give ZERO stars I would. This is the WORST planet fitness I have EVER been to. Lets start off with its dirty, workers sit on their phones, have terrible attitudes in person AND on the phone. These people would NEVER work for me. I had the membership which I can cancel WHENEVER. I canceled on the 10th or 11th not sure exactly when, but i was STILL getting charged. So i call and a VERY RUDE boy answers saying i canceled on the day after that i actually canceled, I corrected him because that was a lie and i MADE SURE when i was canceling that it was before 12am so that it wasnt late, since this seems to be an ongoing issue with this location... The boy goes on the CONTINUALLY change the dates in which i needed to cancel to not be charged. Mind you I was NEVER told i have to cancel by a certain day. I was told when i signed up that day that I can cancel whenever with my membership. Anyways the boy has a TERRIBLE attitude and is being very rude on the phone and keeps changing the story. So ur pretty much going to be lied to if you try to cancel ur membership so they can keep charging you for somewhere ur not even going.. So as im talking to this aweful worker.... he keeps getting mad at me asking questions.. God forbit a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE has to answer questions right? To the point where he starts talking over me and hangs up in my face.. Yeah thats a PURE example of how bad their customer service is here. Those people do no work behind those desks and sit on their phones ignoring you. Then get mad when they have to work for less than 5 minutes....... WORST planet fitness i have EVER went to. I joined this gym after almost 5 years at LA Fitness at Lee Road when they closed for remodeling. Have been here now for over a year, and find the gym clean, equipment maintained, and the staff friendly. There were a couple of weight machines I used to use that they don't have here, but there are workarounds that I could substitute if I made the effort. Otherwise, it has everything I need for 1/3 of what I was paying. I never used the pool or sauna at LA Fitness so it isn't like I'm missing those. The one thing that sets this apart is the parking garage . . . never have to get into a steaming hot car or stand in the rain digging out your keys. I just finished reading reviews of my old gym, now remodeled, and they aren't all exactly glowing. The LA Fitness across the street next to Target was crappy. Dirty carpet, rusty cardio machines, one water fountain away at the back with pressure so low you just about had to put your lips on it to get a drink, and a hike to get a dry paper towel to wipe your sweaty butt-marks off the equipment . . . no foam or spray to wipe it down. Hi, needed to find a gym whilst on vacation from U.K., found the staff especially the gym manager really helpful.... Charged $29 for 7 day pass which includes "free planet fitness t-shirt", which was cool. The gym is basic but has everything you need to complete a decent workout, let's say "holiday gym workout" not your normal one. It's well laid out, equipment is clean and someone there is constantly keeping it like that. Dumbells go up to 60lbs, 4 smith machines and lots of good machines, and a 30 min workout area. Lots of treadmills, cycles, cross trainers and an ab area. Really positive experience and would recommend for anybody on vacation or if your starting out on your fitness career....
