I've visited this location twice now, both times mid‑day on a Saturday. It's a large gym with plenty of machines and weights to go around, even when it's busy. The staff is friendly, which is always appreciated. The women's locker room is absolutely freezing, and the gym floor could use a bit more attention--there were dust bunnies drifting around during my visit. This gym is pretty good - has a variety of cardio equipment, weight machines and free weights and really reasonable prices. Plus the space used to be a brick bodies so it's nice that it was originally designed to be a gym. Even when it's busy in there, there are still machines open and space to move around. A couple of grievances though - -The cleaning stations include spray bottles and cheap paper towel rolls. It barely cleans anything and some people use the same one on multiple machines - gross. After my first week going there, I definitely got ringworm (and I work from home so I'm 99% sure it came from the gym). -The stretching mats are so heavy that they're ripping off the holders. -I'd love to see them add some cycling or yoga classes! I don't think anything could improve. The workers are rude and very judgmental at this location, specifically Angela. I normally come to the gym overnight due to my work schedule and she is a morning opener. She was very rude about me being in there and asking to use the massage machine a second time because I was already in there prior. I spoke with the manager Mary and she didn't really help me but said that it will be handled however she's contradicting herself by saying that it seems it was heated on both parts when I've done nothing wrong. Angela started yelling across the gym in a very unprofessional manner, threatening to call the police and even having other employees follow me around the gym. I asked for her name and she covers her name tag. Where is the customer service?, where is the judgement free zone? I felt as if she was trying to make me feel as if I did not belong there, and for reference I am a young African American male and she is an older caucasian woman. read more

I've been to this location a handful of times and it's definitely one of the best PF's in the Baltimore at area. It's larger than some of the others. Or it could be that it's just more open than some of the others. I can tell that the fact that the building was previously a gym was a huge benefit. For example, the locker room isn't like that of other PF's. I like the location and would visit more often if it was closer to me. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for my gym! I will be completely honest, I was a member of Brick bodies for over five years. When I heard they were changing the BB to a planet fitness I was quite disappointed. I thought it wouldn't be nearly as nice. However, to my surprise once the renovation was complete and all the new machines were added the place looked amazing and was equipped with state of the art equipment. If you are a fitness enthusiast with any health condition that requires medication choose a different gym. I was harassed by a staff member to put my fanny pack with my asthma inhaler in it in a locker. I explained to this staff member I need to keep my medication on me at all times advised by my pulmonologist. The staff member told me to put my fanny pack in a locker or leave. I was mortified. Came here with a friend yesterday and this PF is so much bigger than the one closest to me (Abingdon). Convenient location. Lots of parking. Tons of equipment to choose from. And overall, you just can't beat the price. Staff were all very friendly. Bathroom was immaculate. The only downside I can say is that they have older treadmills at this location. The Abingdon location has newer treadmills that you can program with the "sprint 8" function. But aside from that, this gym is great! read more

I got a day pass to try out this gym at 4am today and It was relatively empty and pleasant until around 4:45 am when a group of 5-6 19ish year olds walked in and over to the free weights and proceeded to take shirts off while flexing in the mirror while two of them were straddling each-other on the bench. I looked over at them and shook my head in disbelief because i was confused by the foolishness, one of the boys clocked me shaking my head asked me if I had a problem, two of the boys bucked like they wanted to throw hands, I let them know that was a very unwise choice and chose to remove myself. I told the lady at the front (who was very nice) about the situation about how I was gonna be the bigger man and just leave because these kids could've been under 18, she said "there was already notes in the system about them" ............ I support the judgment free zone, but I'm judging. All six of these young adults need to have their memberships revoked. Though i enjoyed the gym, I won't be returning. It's a gym. By which I mean it has machines, cardio equipment and limited weighs. Equipment is constantly in need of repair, the showers are nearly always without hot water, and toilets are constantly out of order. I missed having the gym open due to COVID. After 3 months I was ecstatic to get back in. Now I am seeing that may have been ill advised. Roughly half of the people using the gym do not wear face masks, take them off after walking by the entrance, leave their noses uncovered, or... and this was my favorite.... wear the mask, but tuck it under their chin and do not cover their mouth or nose (I guess to support their jaw). Now when going in and out the gym, these people adjust it, but once on the machines, doing cardio, lifting weights, doing core workouts the masks come off. I asked the front desk about it and they said they admitted it was a problem, but stated they did not have enough staff to do anything. I missed going to Planet Fitness, but not to the point that it's worth compromising another rapid COVID outbreak because Planet Fitness will not enforce the policy covering its entrances. read more

Equipment is better since the last visit but I left with the same result of being overwhelmed with the mold and mildew. Probably the worst mold smell of all 100+ gyms I've been in. The 3rd shift attendants standing at the counter the whole time doesn't help. I'd avoid this one and go to another in the area. Unfortunately not much better in the area. read more

I recently started my fitness journey and I'm so happy to have PF as my gym of choice! Planet Fitness maintains their equipment cleanliness which is a huge pro to me. This gym is also highly accessible, as it runs 24/7. Thanks to my crazy work schedule, going at night or any time I feel motivated to workout is never an issue, I always feel safe in this brightly lit and well kept environment, and I'm always greeted with friendly faces. The gym does get more congested from 4-6pm, but for what I pay, it's not a deal breaker! My focus is strength training and although they have all the equipment to fit my agenda, I wish the machines weren't so cardio-heavy. If you are a fan of cardio then this is the Haven for you! I do find that this gym has everything you could need, it's spacious and accommodating! Otherwise, my only other complaint is that they don't offer Zumba or special classes (I.e. yoga, dance, bicycling, etc.), but they do have a rotating schedule of workouts that are led by a trainer (I.e. abs, circuit training, etc.). Parking spots are aplenty, and the lockeroom for women is incredible because each locker has its own lock -- no need to bring your own! Affordability? A+ (I pay $10/month, value is high) Accessibility? A+ (24/7) Cleanliness? A (Everyone is expected to wipe down each machine after use, and people here are generally good at that) Equipment? Planet Fitness Perry Hall, Maryland - The gym is five stars but I just drove under heavy rain to get my workout in and the place is closed until 10 am. You ask for our email and phone at sign up. You have an app that we all have to use now. Three methods to contact your members to tell them "Hey we are closed until 10 am" but you didn't. Terrible customer service, but if it was a billing problem, then we will receive an email, text, phone call, and an app message. I hope you read this review and do it next time. Just imagine that all your members changed their credit cards and send the message out. read more

I have been a member on and off since this location opened. I go to the gym at least 4-5 times a week. Today was not good! Only one of the 4 steppers is in service. The light in the express workout is still not working. It has not worked properly for weeks . I saw at least 4 treadmills in my immediate vicinity that were out of service. The bike next to where I was working out was not working properly. What I can't figure out is why the staff doesn't see what I see. All of that being said, yesterday I brought my grandson to the gym to work out with me to work out and the WIFI was down. The young lady at the front desk tried really hard to help get him registered for the student summer pass. We were unable to get him registered at the gym so I'm going do it online. Props to the guy wearing the personal trainer shirt. He was very helpful showing us how certain pieces of equipment worked. i really appreciated him. I never even knew that this location had a personal trainer. This is a good gym but it needs maintenance. read more

The whole "judgment free zone" thing is a farce. In the year I've been a member I've only heard the "lunk alarm" go off once. Any time I've been to this or another location it's been the same people you see at other nearby gyms. It's intimidating and off-putting. I mean you go in the locker room and there are dudes taking shirtless selfies in the mirror. I think these are the same guys who like to pee on their toilet seats as a pastime. When I ran on the treadmill I would actually pretend I was running out of the gym. No, seriously. It's way too loud in here and dirty. Most of the people won't clean their equipment when they're done and you go home smelling like whatever they're wearing. It's just an annoying experience that's no different than any other gym you go to. They just disguise their premises with a cheap price and a weird purple/yellow color scheme. I'm giving two stars for the following reasons: 1. The staff is actually very nice as well as the trainers. 2. They have grape-flavored tootsie rolls and those are my favorite. So if you need to work out, I would just recommend something like...uh...I don't know, running circles in your living room like a raving lunatic or like, benchpressing your cats or whatever. One final note: I was tempted to write a review earlier but held back. This morning I woke up to a bank charge on the SAME DAY I cancelled my membership there! They wouldn't refund it! They take money from your bank account but won't reverse it. It's like if you bought a film and then tried to return it five minutes later and being told it's too late. It's one thing if you don't have enough staff to oversee the gym members are keeping their masks on but it's another thing that your staff refuse to wear a mask. It's unacceptable and sending a message to members that it's not imperative to wear a mask while in the gym. It's happened multiple times. Please follow Hogan's guidelines. read more

This planet fitness franchise assumed the location of the Brick Bodies. The location is convenient to Perry Hall, Nottingham, and Parkville, and Carney. The gym is located on Belair Road next to the Ravage Deli and across from the Safeway Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking and I find that even at peak hours, I'm still able to find a parking spot. The facility is not huge by any means, but it's clean and there seems to be plenty of equipment, especially of the cardio variety (i.e. elliptical, treadmills, and bikes). The ab and lifting area on the other hand can get a bit crowded. The staff keeps the place clean and there are wipe and sanitizer stations conveniently placed throughout the gym. The showers and locker rooms are also clean. Now on to the pricing. My husband and I were able to sign on for $10 a month, $1 deposit, with no commitment. This is the best deal that Planet Fitness has. It appears that these deals pop up every few months, so that is something to consider. Overall, I am very pleased with this gym and I feel lucky that I live close to such a nice and decently priced facility. read more

A fabulous experience, AMAZING selection of equipment and services- I have been a member for about a year now and I can say this Planet Fitness is one of the best I have seen. The front help desk people are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to help you out. The selection of gym equipment is large from free weights to machines to towers there is pretty much no body part that cannot be exercised. For Black Card members, they luck out with a variety of tanning beds, massage chairs and other fun stuff. I have never waited more than 5 min for anything here, from the people that are greeting you to any equipment. Any complaints about this gym are most likely from construction going on however that is winding down and should not be an issue for much longer. In fact they have bent over backwards to have an open functioning gym available for people rather than shut down the place during construction. I am very thankful for their efforts. Overall, this Planet Fitness is my favorite and would love to see other gyms outside of Planet Fitness to copy their model be because it works and leaves the customer happy. PF Perry Hall has been awesome! I joined in Jan 2018 for the $9.99 membership & started off slow. Over the first 3 months I engaged in the club, the trainers & classes. I was hooked! I started seeing the results I wanted with the weight loss & change in my body so I rewarded myself with the black card membership! Everything about this club is 5 star:, Dave, the manger and his staff are knowledgeable & friendly, it's open 24 hours and I go different times through out the week. The new trainer Nicole is great - challenges you to do your best. The entire club and ladies' locker room are very clean. There are a variety of machines and never have to wait for a machine plus majority of the machines & equipment are brand new! The Blackcard room is a reward in it's self for working out! I enjoy working out with my daughter and taking PFPE classes friends. I am down 40lbs & loving my Perry Hall PF - it has changed my life! read more
