I love coming here! I've been a member since 2013 and besides the cleanliness of the place, what makes it great to come to is the staff. They are all very friendly and welcoming and I have a nickname for every staff member based on a funny song as well as other inside jokes. Terrell, Lakyn, Jerome, Kaitlyn, James, Tony, Mary and the rest of the gang are great! I travel to many other states and this is by far the nicest one I've been to and the most welcoming. Why is it so dark in here? Feels like I just walked into a 1986 Chuck E Cheese, yet they stopped serving pizza. This is a very busy gym that should have an upbeat vibe instead of feeling like a dungeon. Not to mention the effect of being blinded when glancing at the front windows due to the reverse lighting effect. Chest pain and heavenly gates up ahead after an extended treadmill session? Booked the red light therapy one hour in advance. When time for my session they said it would be another 15 mins??? I asked why and they said running behind. How can you run behind when there are set times??? I said well I guess I will just have to leave because don't have time to wait and the dude said "good". How rude! Hey staff, I know you've kinda abandoned the traditional PF culture policies and I'm okay with that, but I would suggest you still continue to CARE about your gym's culture. I suggest you try to stop attention seeking, douche behavior and make it stop. This is WHY some people stay away from gyms. I personally wish yall would would have a conversation with: - the histrionic lady stripper dancing between sets. If I start humping the trash cans between sets, but I'm not doing it AT anyone, yall gonna like that? Nah. No one likes that. - the multiple insecure dudes shadow boxing all the time. - any dude swearing and punching the equipment between sets. - the dude that walks around lifting his shirt up to reveal his belly and about 4 inches of his underwear. For the life of me I cannot figure out why he does this. Either way, attention seeking is annoying. - any form of walking around grabbing your crotch like a gangster. This ain't the hood. It's planet fitness. We got elderly people here. - loud cell phone conversations. - the guy all my friends refer to as 'Gaston' who makes people get out of his way while walking. For the past year, everything was going great. Occasionally, there'd be someone talking on their phone when they shouldn't be and nobody told them to turn it off. I feel like the people behind the counter when you come in and leave just stand there and don't even say good morning. How are you? Have a good workout. This one older gentleman just sits there early in the morning and is looking at his cell phone the whole time he never even looks up poor customer service! But recently they said Corporate changed the TV stations. I don't know about you, but when I go to the gym, I want to watch low-key happy shows not the news the news the news! That's what they've done. It's very stressful being stuck, watching various news shows are in infomercials, when you're trying to work out the kinks , build muscle and balance. Clearly corporate isn't thinking of the fitness person coming into their gym. When we're on the treadmill or the elliptical it's exhausting and stressful watching all the negativity on the news when we could watch something lighthearted like animal shows, lifetime, hallmark, movie channels and HGTV. I made my complaint to one of the young kids at the desk. It was polite and said people have been complaining. But let's see how long corporate takes to change this if they even do. If not, there's a couple of us who are already talking about leaving the gym . I used to give a planet fitness, a four star or five but now it's a three star. I can watch the news at home and get stressed out at home and yell at the TV but when I go to the gym, I'm pumped. I'm ready to exercise and watch something lighthearted. Let's see what happens. Well I'll start it off like all the other negative reviews. If I could I would leave a negative star review. It all starts off with constant poop splatter almost every time I use the restroom, second is the spontaneous charges that clearly are well over the $25 monthly fee I should be paying. The most important is the childish, unprofessional behavior by the younger staff member. Not only do they not know how to say hi or bye even when you say it first but they pick and choose who they say it too, like we are in middle school again. Especially the "Bay Watch" guy Mr surfer. He's the worst! Please please teach these people proper customer service or have them work somewhere else. Horrible experience. I took a selfie. The young girl next to me whose part of the arm is in the photo run off to the front desk ( it appeared she was familiar with the staff) and complained I was taking photos of her and her friend....so one can imagine what followed in public and the humiliation I felt. Of course, examination of my phone revealed no photos of the girls.. When, I tried to explain to the young girls I was not taking their photo I was met with hostility by the girls (and foul languange). The staff sided with the girls and cautioned me to stay away from them. I guess, if you know the staff at this Planet Fitness, and you are young and cute you can label someone a pervert/dirty old man and get away with it. I find this a very serious accusation. it is not a violation of privacy laws to record someone in a gym's common area. Typically the law does not prohibit watching or photographing activities that are outside a person's reasonable expectation of privacy.Jun 1, 2022" However it is a violation of one's privacy (out of respect) in the Planet Fitness membership agreement. I guess the staff were more concerned with the girl's privacy than mine. They were eager to investigate me without any proof from the young girl other than her hearsay. Really? Bottom line, I felt defamed, discriminated, unduly harassed. Needless to say I did not finish my work out.....which I pay for! BTW, I have been going to various gyms for 50 plus years. There's not a lot of weight machines seems like everyone's fighting for them, but there's no shortage of cardio machines. I didn't like the Smith machines because you have to rotate your wrist even more than the usual.. but its still a good place to work out. I still don't understand why in the men's bathroom when older males take a shower, they come out naked without covering themselves and think it's fine to stand 1inch away from you. hopefully we can get some signs up there, saying that to please cover themselves up while walking out the shower and not standing so close to another male/man read more

Great gym with a ton of cardio equipment. Even at peak times there's plenty of equipment available. Super clean with great staff. Extra amenities like hydro massage tables and massage chairs. Appreciate the casual environment where people are just there to get a workout in. read more

The main thing that sold me on the gym was the "Circuit Training." I like that it's set up so you go in a row from one machine to the next, doing one set and maybe 15-20 reps. There are even signs stating what a circuit is. Apparently staff members have not enforced that rule. People will do their set then camp out on the machine while looking at their phones. Also the last time we were there there was a guy on spitting all over a stair stepper. When I tile the staff they just chuckled and said that he has a mental illness. read more

Came in to give the club a try. Staff was friendly when I came in. While working out in a remote area I started to breath heavy due to the level of exercise I was completing. A staff member "Nickie Scaff" approached me and said I was breathing too loudly. She said I needed to stand in the lobby until I got my breathing back under control. I continued my workout and started breathing heavy again, as did the young man across from me while he was exercising, but Nickie came right to me and said I needed to get my breathing under control, or she would sound an alarm until I left. I was wearing a T-shirt that said, "American Veteran." The young man working out near me asked if I was a veteran? I said yes, and he said how disrespectful of her. Nickie said that loud breathing was against the rules and the rules were posted on the wall. I read the rules and did not read anything about breathing too loudly. When I questioned her about this, she said I was "grunting". I told her I was breathing heavy because of the level of exertion. She said my heavy breathing was the same as grunting. She then asked me to leave. I returned a few moments later and asked to use the shower. She was kind enough to allow me to use the shower, but warned me that continued breathing loudly would be grounds for being banned. Very disappointed in the experience here. A young man working out next to me even commented that he could not believe I was admonished for breathing heavy while working out, something he was doing himself. The assistant manager, i think his name was Justin is extremely rude. He was screaming at one of his employees at the front desk before arguing with a customer and stating that he wasn't on the clock but just working out on his own time. He proceeded to threaten the customer and say he was going to fight him and was telling him that they could "take it outside". Very unprofessional behavior especially while there are paying customers inside of the building. He was using very foul language the whole time and yelling with no respect or professionalism whatsoever. I will not be returning here. It is one thing to get upset with employees or asking customers to leave but it's absolutely ridiculous to scream and cuss at employees and paying customers especially when they are younger. read more

I attended this gym for almost a year and I'm torn about it. See, based on what I saw this is the nicest and the cleanest gym in Prescott. The workers here are very nice and helpful and the equipment is always clean and working properly. Unfortunately they don't have barbels but for $10 a month I still think it's a great deal even with some important equipment missing. The biggest problem of this gym is its MUSIC! The music playing is just obnoxious. The managers ( or whoever is responsible for putting the tunes on ) are forgetting this this is not a club. It's a gym. The dubstep and electronic music playing so loudly that you can't hear what's playing in the headphones is very irritating. There were days that I left the gym early just because of that. On top of the loud music playing there are also ads! Oh man.. I think I hear those Verizon and dr Scholls ads in my sleep now. "My prepaid plan is better then yours.. better then yours".. sign it with me! Every time I asked to turn it down I was told that only manager has access to do it but for some reason she was never there. The gym is nice and clean but man.. I'm happy I left. read more

Got my first workout in today when they opened, and I am quite pleased with this gym already. The hydromassage felt great after the workout. It was a soft opening so for this weekend the hours are from 6 am to 10 pm before the switch to their standard 24/7 hours on Monday. They have a few loose ends to tie up like getting the TV's connected and the Red Light Therapy & Tanning areas squared away. The locker rooms are very spacious and clean and offers I believe 4-5 indivudual showers. The staff also seemed very nice and helpful. I will be able to include more about this new gym as I go more and get to know the staff and try out their benefits more. I focused on upper body today, they have a wide range of equipment for various workouts although they are missing a back board to throw a medicine ball to as well as kettle bells. Perhaps if enough people request them they will add them to their equipment but for now they don't have those. There are plenty of cardio machines so I don't think worrying about hogging one of them will be an issue. read more

Started a membership a couple months ago but wasn't using it enough so I went in today to cancel and had so much anxiety about doing it. Went up to the counter and was kindly greeted (like always everyone that works there is very nice) and told him I wanted to cancel so he says he can help me with that and just asked why I wanted to cancel, then asked me to sign and said have a good day. After installation of new machines, overhead music still drowns out sound from tv's (and I had it as loud as it would go). Machines are confusing, staff was too interested in their phones and flirting to be bothered to explain t 8/7. Again overhead music drowned out tv volume. WTF? read more

This gym is always clean and well stocked. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. This gym is truly judgement free.

In the past I've had a good experience with Planet Fitness. I was a member and then I quit and became a member again a couple years later. The second time I wasn't as motivated to go and so for months (probably about 4-5) planet fitness got $20 a month for free cause I wasn't going. After awhile I decided to quit my membership and this is when the problems started. It turns out that they had stopped pulling the $20 from my account and now I suddenly owed them money even though I hadn't stepped foot in the gym that entire time. I was fine with them taking $20 from my account when I wasn't going to the gym, but for them to turn around and say that it was MY FAULT that somehow they turned off autopay and didn't realize. I was told that if I was to ever become a member again I would have to pay a huge fine. Worst experience ever! I will never trust them again, and I don't recommend you do either cause something that they did can quickly become your fault not theirs. read more

My husband and I were in Prescott AZ on vacation in June of this year, and we popped into this Planet Fitness to get some exercise. We were greeted with a big smile, by Katie, who was working at the front desk. She was so friendly, personable, and professional. She offered to give us a tour of the facility, which was very clean. We were impressed with the equipment, cleanliness, and how approachable the staff was. We worked out that day and decided to come back the next day. Katie mentioned to us as we were leaving, that she would be there the next day if we had any questions. What an asset to the company she is! Less than one star. This place not only doesn't have free weights but it charged me the yearly fee 2 times in 5 months. Total ripoff!

Was asked to leave because I was breathing too heavy while working out. I was not grunting or making any other noise other than breathing hard due to the level of physical exertion. Visiting from the Mesa club. This was my original club and enjoy the positive energy there and people are courteous and professional. It is generally clean regarding the fitness equipment. However, the woman's bathroom seems not to have been cleaned because there was oil on the floor for 2 days and the sink had the same hair ball in it for at least 2 days and I finally wiped it out. The locker rooms and especially bathroom and shower facility should be cleaned on every shift do to the amount of people coming in and out. Unfortunately, no planet fitness does this instead they clean equipment which for the most part the "members" are already involved with doing this. The equipment needs an update just as Mesa got and definitely can use it. The arrangement of the facility allows a person to enjoy the "stretch" area because it is away from the center of the cardio and weight area. Overall, I would recommend this facility and staff are great but GM needs to up beat the cleaning for showers and bid for new equipment. read more
