It's better now, than when I started going. This is the main location that I go to. I was initially disappointed that a feature in the Black Card Spa was unavailable. For a long while. It was one of the reasons that I picked PF. It's always been clean in there, which is great and people workout and leave. My friend and I were working out, and we were working on the chest press machine next to the dumbbells when we were called out for slamming weights when we never dropped the weight to begin with, so we move on to a different machine, but we hear others slamming their weights, and they were NOT called out on it. The guy at the front desk didn't even mind it when others were doing it, but when WE set the weight down barely making a sound we get called out. That was the first time we were called out for making noise. WE have never been called out for being loud. I feel we were singled out because the guy at the desk didn't bat an eye when others made a sound, but when WE make a sound we get singled out. Used to be good, but new staffs are very RUDE!!!! My friend and I were on a same membership and we followed their requirement that we have to go work out together. She came in on her black card and scanned, I was late 10 mins and checked in on guest pass and they treated me like I was a criminal. I read her name three times, don't even bother to listen. Had to call my friend off her treadmill and checked me in. Should the system link both of us already? And if not, should the staff listen and look up???? read more

They actually came to harass me about my very tiny bag that had my keys and whatnot in it. Made me pause my workout to tell me to put it up. Wasn't bothering anyone or in any way at all. Then followed me around the club to make sure I was wearing it. Sorry I didn't just throw my car keys, workout gloves and all my stuff on the floor. Very condescending and really over the damn top. I've been standing at the front desk of the Richardson location at Beltline and Plano rd for over 20 minutes with no one showing up. I had someone with customer service to call the front desk. Yes, it's my go-to gym, now. You're not judged for shape or sizes. People just work out, and on occasion, "looks of pleasantry" are given. They welcome all genders, and in particular LGBT peeps are made comfortable for all ages. Showers are clean, and changing rooms are right outside the shower. I'm more the dont care about the shower curtain, so open at least 1/2 for cooler air. I have had peeps walk by and look but no hanging around watching. So its not that bad if it bothers you tgen close the curtain and no one will bother you read more

Gym is fine. Started when they first opened with a black card. However when I wanted to downgrade to a regular membership I had to pay another startup fee or pay a new cancellation fee! None of this was told to me and it was already changed in the system so I couldn't stay with my original plan if I even wanted. read more

Before you start reading, please note that I originally wrote this review on February 13th for google reviews. I am sharing it here in it's entirety because what Planet Fitness is doing is dishonest and unacceptable. I have since found my original contracts and have therefore updated some of the dates that I had originally written which honestly makes this place look even worse. This place is a nightmare. Avoid at all costs. I joined Planet Fitness last January 2023, when they put out a promotion to join their new facility. It seemed like a good deal, and it was the last day of the promotion, so my wife and I signed up. We went to use the gym and were disappointed to see that it was still being built. There was construction equipment everywhere and they were nowhere near ready to open up. Came back again a few weeks later and it was still the same deal. What a great deal! We had a membership for a gym that didn't exist. A few weeks after that, we drove by and the construction was still happening, so we decided to go use another facility. The other planet fitness would not accept our membership, due to it being only for this specific location. They said one of us needed to upgrade our membership. I said fine, and upgraded my account. We then worked out for the next hour and left. Life happened and I found that I did not have time to keep going to the gym. However when I signed up I was told I couldn't cancel for a year. So I waited a year. Paying $27.11 every single month. I went in a few weeks ago after the 12th payment and was told by Cato that I had to wait until after FEBRUARY 4th or they would charge a cancellation fee. So I waited some more. It is February 13th today and I went in to cancel my membership and Cato said the same thing. I will be charged a cancellation fee. I said, that wasn't right, you told me I could cancel after the 4th, and now Cato is saying that I have to wait until March 7th. This will involve me paying for another month at this dump. I asked to speak to a manager and out came Cliff. Cliff told me the same thing and while we were hashing it out Cato stood behind him and even started laughing at me. The other associate, whose name I did not get was also smirking, because they knew exactly what they were doing. It's not right. They offered a service that I paid for and they were not able to provide. Then tricked me into a contract, which I honored. Now that I am trying to be done with it, they are still trying to squeeze more money out of me. I have given them $325.11 of which I have not utilized there services at all. I then realized that Cliff was the assistant manager and asked to speak to the manager Kiara. Cliff said no and then asked me to leave. So I left. Do yourself a favor and join either of the other 2 gyms across the street. Also when I posted this review on Reddit, a few people mentioned to check the contract. I have been trying to login to view my membership agreement. When I login to planetfitness.com it lets me login to the basic account screen. However when I click on the option to view my membership agreement it asks me to login again to verify that it is me. I enter my login and it says that my login information is incorrect. I retried multiple times and even verified that I was using the correct login and it keeps saying that my password is incorrect. I even logged out of the app and logged back in to verify that I am using the correct password. When I then clicked on reset password, it said that a reset email will be sent to me. No email has come. I went all the way back out to reset from the initial screen and that email showed up in my inbox instantly. I feel like I am now being actively blocked from my account. I finally found my contract way back in my email and I "e-signed" it 2/4/23. It says it was for 12 months and that I needed to come in, in person to cancel the membership 10 days before the next bill. 12 months would have been up 1/4/24, and I went in the first time to cancel 1/25/24. read more

Horrible service ... no one was able to help with simple task ... I stopped coming for maybe 2 months but was still paying for it ... I had simple no contract plan so I was told at beginning I can cancel as please n reactivate if I want n since paid annual fee already another wouldn't be needed .... I called today to try to to see what balance I owed to get reactive they couldn't even tell anything over phone so I drive there for them to tell me I can't reactive and would have to start over n pay annual fee for a second time with is the entire opposite of what I was told when signing up ... I wasted time, gas, and energy when I could've been told this over phone ... one of the worst experiences ever and making it really hard to try to live a healthier life style read more
