My son is going to university in 2 weeks and I don't use this gym. I was told to come in. Today, I went to Planet Membership. Had no trouble canceling, but they charged 2 annual membership fees - and those posted today. So I'm out 106.++. I think that's crappy. No offer to refund. My company pays for my gym memberships, so I'll submit for reimbursement, but they shouldn't have to pay either. I had only planned to cancel 2 of 3 of our memberships, but this made me mad, so I canceled the third membership too and called my wife to tell her I'll pay for any other fitness club she wants and proceeded to advise her that we were charged for the annual fees today. As I was leaving, another man was on his way in and overheard me talking to my wife. He said he is dealing with the same thing. If a company operating can't be ethical, then not only will I not go there, but I will advise anyone else of my experience. Beware.

I digress, this gym is much smaller than the others and gets pretty busy on the weekends so I constantly feel like a trapped sardine. I haven't tried the showers yet so I'm not sure if they lack hot water like the others, but this place is new and clean, so I'm not mad at that at all! I really do hope I don't eat my words! It feels like they continue adding new members even though the gym is already packed no matter the day or time you go. It can make workouts frustrating and difficult to fully enjoy. One thing I also didn't appreciate was the constant news channels playing in the cardio room. Many people go to the gym to de-stress and take a break from world events, so having news on all the TVs takes away from that atmosphere. Most gyms usually play sports or music instead. If news channels are going to be shown, it would be better to include a variety of viewpoints rather than only one-sided coverage. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving the gym for several reasons. Another frustrating experience was the cancellation process. Even after going in person and signing the cancellation paperwork, my card continued to be charged, and it was not easy getting the membership properly canceled.
