Feel free to check my prior Yelp/Google reviews- I primarily post praise where it is due, preferring to simply let my money and business to speak for itself with substandard service but after providing ample opportunity for AMPED to make this right, I will leave this VERY POOR REVIEW with a clear conscience. We cancelled well within the 1st month trial period & according to contract info emailed when we signed up in spring of 2025, a very different picture of what cancellation entailed unfolded (opening was with repeated delays but I was willing to wait.. wish I had taken that as a sign of the Jerking Around, yet to come). We were charged $171 for the cancellation. Isn't a trial period just that: a TRIAL period? To add insult to injury we were again charged $65 for another month in December, and it has now been almost 5 MONTHS, over a dozen emails, 10 total calls between the local franchise and the Corporate office that repeatedly insists this is a local matter and has essentially washed their very bloody hands of the situation. As they say in the Business World, 1 bad review = 100 good. The $236 dollars won't break the bank for me, and I figure this review will do zero in the way of resolution so why not get my money's worth- money that is already gone with little hope of recovery. I have dealt with 3 other gym entities in my many years of working out and have never encountered this situation- the Gym Membership horror stories are apparently alive and well in Mesquite. So take this as a warning when considering this business and don't let the shiny, new equipment blind you: CAVEAT EMPTOR. I paid cash for what I understood to be a single session. I later found out I had been enrolled in a 12-month personal training contract at $42 every two weeks, something I never agreed to. The enrollment was done on the manager's screen, which was never turned toward me, and my email was entered incorrectly, so I never received a copy of the contract or any cancellation notice. I was also charged on my card after I specifically said not to use it. When I tried to cancel, I was told I couldn't unless I paid a buyout. To close my account, I ended up paying about $488 total, including $84 for two personal training sessions I never received, which they required before they'd let me cancel, plus an annual fee and a $350 buyout for a contract I never knowingly signed. I had a horrible experience, the cancellation was made difficult and costly. My advice: read everything carefully, insist on seeing the screen, and get your own copy of any contract before you sign. I felt misled, and I hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the same situation.

Despite being the first person to walk in and having two other members behind me in line, she asked me to step back and wait for assistance and proceeded tom assist the other members while i was basically told to "hold on" some 10 minutes later when done with the two members I was finally told that I was in the system but she was not able to understand or explain why I was unable to open the front door, regardless she was vert rude and when asked what the solution is, and or could I workout that day and the issue get sorted asap after - She got attitude and told me that I was unable to continue and I was told to leave. I immediately called my home town club manager and owner and inquired as to what the issue was, they told me there was no issue and they would call the Mesquite location and speak with them, to which 5-7 calls were made and no answer was ever made despite the employee being there just minutes before... All in all, i was not treated to my standards and could not believe the inability and unwillingness of the employee to make a member feel welcome etc. (esp as a visiting member) The whole reason that anytime fitness is attractive to me is that they are open 24/7 and have multiple locations for their members nationwide. But as demonstrated, not all are equal....!!!!! Needless to say, the whole experience was "less then expected and could be improved upon greatly...

I had a very disappointing and humiliating experience at the Mesquite Fitness Connection location…read morethat needs to be addressed by management. When I arrived with my 3-year-old grandson to use the kids club, the supervisor named Silvia immediately told me they would not watch him because she insisted he was not three years old. I calmly explained that he was in fact three years old and even provided his birth certificate as proof. Despite showing her the official birth certificate, Silvia continued to question me repeatedly as if I was lying. Instead of apologizing after seeing the documentation, she continued to argue and treated me in a very dismissive and accusatory manner in front of others. From the moment I walked in, her attitude was hostile and unprofessional. As a paying member, I expect to be treated with respect. Being repeatedly challenged and embarrassed even after providing proof was unacceptable and made me feel singled out and discriminated against. Supervisors are supposed to resolve issues professionally, not escalate them or make members feel uncomfortable. This experience left a very negative impression of this location. Management should seriously address how customers are treated at this facility. No member should have to go through an experience like this simply for bringing their child to the kids club. I hope corporate reviews this situation and ensures better training and accountability for staff moving forward.

After class, Rachel gave us a tour of the facility and was incredibly welcoming and friendly, just like the rest of the staff. The gym itself is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean. I especially loved the white and tan interior design--it creates a bright, upscale atmosphere. The women's locker room is impressive, featuring lockers for personal belongings, a sauna, and a cold plunge. There are also convenient water refill stations throughout the gym. One of the most unique features is the slide, which definitely adds some personality and fun to the space! There's also an outdoor workout area in the corner for anyone who prefers exercising outside. Overall, Recess offers a great combination of high-quality fitness classes, excellent amenities, and a welcoming community. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

They have a kids club and offer swimming lessons for children. Showers are mediocre. They have cheap curtains, soap dispensers, full of body wash (no shampoo or conditioner, no towel service) and the showerheads are kind of janky. The parking lot is a bit small and it can be hard to find a spot.
