Have to give it to them, this gym got all of the basics down with an incredible price. If you are looking for no frills gym, place to get into shape, not overly crowded, and overall great place to workout. Fitness Xpress is the one I'll pick, sure you can head a few miles down and get your sauna with massage chairs but be prepared to spend x5 the price with it being busy all the time. So I went there to get a gym membership the guy took my credit card after 3 day I was charged over $300 I call and ask about it and they told me I was wrong they would never do anything like that now that I'm looking at other reviews the owner seems to owe people money no wonder I got way over charged and got called a lier this place need to be look at by the better business bureau read more

Good luck scheduling a workout with the owner Kevin, scheduled a workout and he was nowhere to be seen. Nobody knew where he was. So unprofessional, no wonder this place is a dump. I would love to give them a better review, but this is based purely on their customer service. They seem to have a very high rate of turnover causing their staff to have very little knowledge of policy or procedure. My wife and I have lived now in Wylie for 4 years, but for most of that time I commuted to Dallas and there was a Gold's Gym near work which I really liked and my wife didn't mind driving to Plano for their GG and even though we paid $70/month combined, we were happy. In the past year my wife got a job and her drives to Plano slowed down and she wanted something closer. Combine that with me quitting my job this past summer to open my own business in Wylie and we both needed a new gym that was super close to us. The natural inclination was to go to 24 Hr Fitness in Murphy, but they wanted (at least) $80/month combined for both of us! More than corporate owned Gold's Gyms? How about NO? Anytime Fitness is way too small, LOA is naturally not for me, and anything else would have been too far away. But we both had heard of this Fitness 24 HR Xpress. $15/month, or $30/month/combined. How do you beat that? Just to be clear, the cost per person is $15/month + $29 annual fee. So one person, annually, is $209, or $418 for both of us. Compare that to the cheapest option at 24 Hr Fitness which is $960 for us annually. Seriously, that price difference isn't worth it. (Aside: This gym also has tanning beds and has an option for a membership that includes tanning sessions. I think it's $25/month instead of $15. I've heard good things, but for certain obvious reasons, I don't tan :)) It's not like the Fitness 24 HR Xpress is a dump. It's very clean, has plenty of equipment, clean bathrooms, showers and lockers. It's not huge like a 24 Hr Fitness or a Gold's Gym, but it doesn't need to be that large. I don't need a waterslide at my gym. I need good, working gym equipment and a friendly staff (I'll get to that later). There are a few machines I had GG that aren't here, but I don' t find myself missing them too much. You get ridiculous bang for the buck, I don't think I've ever said to myself "oh well, it's only $15 a month." More like, "This is only $15 a month? Niiice." The true 24 hour access is extremely convenient. Although the gym has staffed hours, whether staffed or unstaffed, you use your card to scan in which opens the door and lets you in. At first I was hesitant to go at-night "after hours," but the gym is surprisingly busy at night. Sure it's empty at 2:00am, but even until midnight most nights there will be several people there, if not more. It's REALLY nice when a day rolls around and you can only work out at 10pm. Now I go more often after hours than during regular hours. Last, but not least, the staff. You'd think for a place where you pay only 15 bucks a month, the staff would simply serve as warm bodies that act as pseudo-security. It's totally the opposite here! EVERYONE who works there is sooo nice, sweet and friendly. There were people at GG who were the same, but also others who didn't give a s***. Many times the front desk at GG was deserted even though staff was on site, but that never happens during staffed hours here. The staff here, again, makes you forget you only pay $15 a month. In particular, Spencer, Stephanie and Joseph really stick out for their awesomeness, so big ups to them!! They should get raises...just don't raise my dues though!! :) Can't recommend this place any more highly, just go check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

They never have all the fans on or the air at a cooler stetting. The air vent is so clogged with dust it scares me to think what I was breathing. It is in front of a: lat pull down machine and I know everyone that uses that machine was thinking the same thing! Employees are not very welcoming! I recently moved to the area, utilized their 7 day free trial, and have officially signed up as a member. The rates are great, they are opened 24 hours, they have a pretty comprehensive set of equipment, and most importantly, they are clean. I'm unsure as to what the previous review was talking about regarding their sanitation going downhill. I have yet to see that to be an issue, and hope I never see this as a problem. The staff here seems nice, and there seems to be an enthusiastic workout crowd without anyone being over the top with douchy grunting. I've been a member of other "chain" gyms. I've paid a heck of a lot more for basically the same thing. That being said, this gym is exactly what it represents. A clean, updated facility that enables you to work out regularly without breaking the bank. Equipment is in good shape with tvs on the cardio equipment and tvs all over the weight area. There are enough machines that I've never had to wait. It's rarely super crowded outside the typical 5pm rush. Every single time I've been there during "staffed" hours I always see the employees cleaning or working. They are all very friendly and helpful. Tanning is available for $10 extra. The beds are in great shape and rooms are clean. The only negative (not the gyms fault) is that members are expected to clean off machines when done (where do they not want this done?) and even though they have cleaning supplies readily available all over, you always have those jerks who think the rules don't apply to them. So, if you are one of those people, I suggest you join another gym and leave your nasty sweat everywhere for those members. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place. read more

As a personal trainer, able to work with clients without interference. Tanning beds are always clean and in good working order. For over 20 years, I have held memberships in many different fitness centers. I've been a member of Fitness 24 HR Xpress for over a year now and have been very pleased with everything there. . The staff is welcoming and helpful, the equipment is kept in good condition with very few "out of order" signs, and the temperature is well controlled. Most of the time I've found the entire facility spotless. And you can't beat the $15+tax monthly fee for a center that gives you 24/7 access with a great variety of cardio, weight machines, and free weights. They've also added some great new equipment over that year. I highly recommend Fitness 24 HR Xpress. Update 1/28/14: I have now been a member for almost 2 years and my opinion hasn't changed. It remains clean overall, the equipment is rarely out of order, the cost is low, and the staff is friendly and always available. Of course the membership has increased, so the equipment may get a bit crowded during rush hour (5-7 pm). read more

This is a great place to burn calories on cardio machines or pump some iron. The space is great, staff is friendly and clean everything regularly through out the day. Everyone seems friendly and encouraging with smiles and head nods. We all know the gym is a place for all people of different shapes and sizes and fitness levels. I would suggest adding an additional squat rack and a rowing machine or two. Overall great price for a very good facility. read more

Used to be a great gym now it's full of cry babies that seem to have migrated from planet fitness and personal trainers that have no regard for anyone else that goes there. Constantly taking up several pieces of equipment and large sections of the gym at a time. I also challenge the validity of their "certification" to be a "personal trainer". The staff is so-so, waaaayyyy to much cleaning that needs to be done instead of sitting in their office or standing in large groups at the front having their own personal conversations. There needs to be more routine maintenance/checks on all the equipment to ensure that everything is properly working and all moving parts are properly lubricated. I have been a member here for 11 months. This gym provides everything I need for my personal workout goals. There are plenty of treadmills and elliptical machines for a good cardio workout, as well as bicycles. There are free weights and weight machines. I get a full body workout each week. The staff is friendly and attentive. I love that tanning is available too! You can't beat the deal that the premium membership offers. The gym is kept neat and clean. In 11 months I have only seen 1 machine out of service but it was repaired in less than 24 hours. read more

I have been at this gym since they opened over a year and a half ago. I liked it for a long time until I realized the sanitation was going down. I noticed employees were taking a towel and glasses into tanning room but never coming out with anything, means the beds aren't wiped down between people. I wipe my own bed down once I started noticing this but I'm sure many don't and I find that unsanitary. I noticed showers weren't getting cleaned, I was going there every morning to work out and showering there before work. I have canceled my membership and moved to fitness connection that I absolutely LOVE even though it's a bit more of a drive. read more

This is in response to the post from Tammy F. If you notice, there are signs in each tanning room, and I have physically heard the staff ask that people bring the towels and goggles out to the front when they exit the tanning room. The tanning beds are most definitely cleaned between every person because they must be manually reset. I have worked in a tanning salon before. The locker rooms are cleaned twice a day, and kept up as necessary throughout the day. There is no staff between 9 pm and 9 am, so that's 12 hours at night before staff gets there that other people shower and what not before staff comes back. This gym is great! The staff is very friendly, and they do a job of cleaning the gym. There are no gimmicks, and the price is wonderful! The tanning beds are both level 3 and lever 4 beds, so they aren't your typical "cheap" tanning beds you see in other gyms that are rinky dink beds. Everything in this gym is state of the art, brand new. If something breaks the turn around time is not very long for it to be taken care of. Other gyms I have been to sometimes have "Out Of Order" signs for a week or longer. read more

My husband and I joined 24-hr-xpress fitness and we have really enjoyed working out together in their very clean facilities. The staff is friendly and the gym has everything we need to get in shape, from the extensive weight room free-weights and weight machines as well as the elliptical and treadmill equipment. The equipment is always in working order and they continue to bring in new up to date equipment. The lay of the gym is perfect! The cardio equipment is separate from the weights area. We recently joined and love it so far. It has a lot of equipment and seems to be well maintained. It's clean, safe and well lit. We go between 6:00-8:00 pm and it's never busy. We rarely have to wait for equipment. We are saving over $400 this year over our old gym. read more
