This PF has too many elipticle machines, treadmill machines, and several other machines that aren't in use. Its taking up a lot of space and that space could be used for something else. This PF is small, so there isn't a lot of room as is. Its so compact in there just like the Daly City PF. The PF gym has become a gym club for kids and young adults who simply live on their phone while their so called working out. Taking up space when other people are waiting for the machines they want to work on too. Also, free weights would be great too. More Smith machines, but again the place is so small you can only fit so much equipment in there. But thats just my opinion as everyone has one. read more

I recently rejoined the gym membership world because I wanted to incorporate more weight/strength training into my current fitness routine (which includes running, dancing, aerial classes, and pilates & barre). I chose PF and opted for the Black card membership for these reasons: -Gym will not be my main form of fitness, but as a supplement, so I don't need a fancy gym with amenities I will never use, which is costly. -The Black card membership gives me flexibility to work out while I travel or visit my folks. So far, I've been to 2 different PF locations, including this one in San Bruno. I went during the Thanksgiving holiday, so it was not that busy. Even though this is likely to be the least busy this location will be in the late afternoon, it was still pretty tough to get access to the strength training exercises and machines without waiting a little bit. Very limited number of benches, cable machines, and 3 Smith machines. I would not want to come here during peak post-work hours unless all I wanted to do was use a treadmill. Also, I noticed a lot of maintenance was being neglected: broken lockers, half the toilets in the ladies' room were out of order, empty paper towel dispensers, and empty disinfectant spray bottles. One of the stairmaster machines was broken. Compared to my experience at the San Jose location I went to, which was maintained and clean and honestly impressive for a PF gym, I wouldn't care to come back to this location again. I know PF is a budget gym, but I'm not asking for much! It was a slow day, just please refill the paper towels and spray bottles at least? read more

The equipment and space is awful. No cable machines, everyone hogs the equipment. An easy 30 min workout turns into 1.5 hrs. Staff is nice, but I am not paying for nice I am paying for accessibility and a halfway decent gym. I can't call this location a quarter way decent. Take your money elsewhere. Mind you, I was there at 40% crowd meter activity and there was no space to work out and many of the members were not willing to let you work in with them. read more

It's been over 3 months and one of the hydromassage machines and red light machine (not hybrid) still not fixed! I pay extra for the black card premium membership and not able to use these amenities. Have to always wait because only one hydromassage machine available. Now both dryers in the women's restroom are broken! It's been about a month and not repaired. On top of all the necessary repairs, the staff never clean at this location. I've been to two other planet fitness gyms and the staff always clean the floors and equipment. The only plus is this gym is open 24 hours and plenty of parking. read more

This gym is DISGUSTING!!! I've never seen a gym so damn dirty. Machines look like they are never wiped down. Dust everywhere!! And the men's bathroom wtf is that !?!?!? Update: Per the Business Manager's response to my Yelp review yesterday, I followed up with Saul, the San Bruno Planet Fitness manager, regarding the ongoing issue with the infrared vibration plate machine not in working condition. Saul confirmed that he has repeatedly informed upper management about the broken equipment but that they "are not trying to spend money on this location." He further stated that management is "being cautious with how much they spend" because this club is expected to relocate "soon." According to him, no move date exists because the landlord extended the lease by six months and the Best Buy deal fell through. Meanwhile, Planet Fitness continues to charge VIP Black Card members for amenities we cannot use. This is unacceptable! Members are paying for services that are not being provided, and withholding repairs while continuing to collect full membership fees raises serious legal concerns. Every VIP Black Card member has grounds to demand a refund for the amenities we are being denied. I expect immediate action and a clear plan to restore full access to all paid amenities. read more

I came using a day pass. Clean facilities and nice staff, but unfortunately due to the lack of space and equipment I couldn't finish my workout. I think this gym would be just fine though if you could work out during the slow time of the day though, I came around 6pm I first tried to use the stair climber, but the gym only had 4 or 5 and they were all in use. I then went to go stretch and do ab workouts. There was a tiny corner/hallway dedicated to this, but there was no floor space for me to put a mat down. So then I tried machines, but none of the 5 machines I wanted to try were open. So I decided to try free weights, but there didn't seem to be many sets of the same weights. I was looking for a set between 10-25lbs but after waiting a bit none were available. I then went back to see if the stair climbers, stretching corner, or machines had opened up. Woof do NOT come here in the summertime!!! I thought my home location was bad, but this particular gym is WAY too small to be offering the free teen program. PF turns into a teenage lounge, good luck having any sort of routine you expect to finish, unless you come in the middle of the night. Every time I've been in this week, I have tried to calculate how an entire group of 4 can be "resting" at the exact same time, while bogarting a machine that none of them are actively using. I am all for giving teens a safe space to workout, but if this is more important to PF than the paying clientele experience, please give us the option to pause our memberships for this timeframe (for free, based on the same logic that free teens are future paying members). The start is soo cool here it's hard to complain. I work in customer service so I definitely know how tough it can be and also how on the customers behalf you represent the business, they definitely do it well as my first time at this gym. Unlike the other one I am familiar with they don't have a candy bucket but they do have a way better selection of energy drinks . The crowd and tv channel selection is great here. The place seems a lil compact but it works out great because everything you need is close . I saw a movie and decided to hit up the gym talk about a perfect location. read more

First of all, the vast majority of people there are super nice, including customers and staff. That said, I've never been to a gym where so many people sit on the machines and stare at their phones. Sometimes for nearly half an hour. Weird. I leave without using some of the machines occasionally, because they are not available and it's time for me to go. There needs to be a system or culture where folks can alternate sets with other people. The music is horrible, loud, and a huge distraction. Most customers wear ear buds or headphones, so I assume it doesn't bother them. At my last visit the music was turned off and it was like a storm had lifted. Wonderful relief. Several of the lockers have been broken into, and it makes me nervous to leave my valuables there. Could not use one of the machines the other night because it was missing a snaplink/carabiner. I asked the front desk if they could provide one and they just shrugged and said they couldn't help. There was only one working toilet in the men's locker room the other day, and a line of guys waiting to use it, so I asked the front desk if they had another toilet, and they recommended that I go out into the shopping center and find one in a restaurant. read more

Love this gym!! Super clean, well ventilated, and pleasant environment. Really great crowd. Lots of modern equipment to choose from! Especially love the 30 minute express circuit area,!! Only downside to the circuit area is people do not follow the instructions of only using it if you're doing the circuit workout and staff doesn't enforce the rules. It's challenging to complete the circuit workout when people are just on the machines sitting down on their phones for 30 minutes, etc. Other than that small complaint, I really do love this place and enjoy my workouts here! read more

Im actually giving this one star mostly for Summer time. In case you don't know, Planet Fitness has a "free teenager" program during Summer. So, if you have a limited time to work out, this isn't your place, at least for the summer. I used to finish my whole training in 1 and half hour. Now, it's crowded with teenagers that come in groups and take forever in the machines. Since this program started I have only finished my training completely twice (my days off). Yes, I know obesity is a problem, but if you are planning to join Planet Fitness you may reconsider your options. Maybe you can drop off your kid here to work out for free and then you join and pay for another gym around here. I think 24 h fitness doesn't have the same program. read more

I would definitely recommend this place since the staff knew what to do in this situation. There was a women who was obviously late for something and she was in the dressing room for like 15 mins trying to prepare for her shower or whatever she was doing. Then I went to the bathroom and then went to a shower. Next thing you know when I am putting shampoo in my hair this blonde lady who I guess we can say a Karen had harassed me in the shower and then kept trying to intimidated me by stomping her feet because she is I guess mad that her shower feels cold well mind wasn't so hot either lady. But I'm homeless and so I take what I can get. So as I was leaving the shower she jumps out naked and yells at me saying are you done are you done in the shower. She said two people left while I took a 30 mins shower which is not true considering I do the same routine everyday and the know me there pretty well and I am a in and out situation. But I also have a disability as well. And so while she was attacking me I started getting extremely triggered but then I told the staff the situation and they seemed to know who she was. So I guess she is known. I just left and got dressed outside in my van. I didn't want to give her any power then I already did. Not everyone is patient and has empathy like I do. But I do feel that if she thinks she can attack other while showering what if I was in a wheelchair and just to let you know this was the disabled shower. Myself a person with disabilities I wouldn't feel comfortable with this person coming back. I would have this person removed so they don't hurt anyone or themselves. But I am glad the staff handled it really well and they talked to her and I guess she was given warnings before. I felt heard and understood and I hope she gain some insights. Anyways thanks planet fitness for again making this place a safe place. read more

I've been here from the beginning and tried to make a go of it, however I've given up. Not only is much of the equipment out of order but most of the lockers in the locker room can't be locked. To make matters worse the only news station they have on their overhead monitors is Fox News. This 24/7 right-wing indoctrination is irritating while doing my workout so I have gone over to Fitness 19 where they have freedom of information. read more

In the spa area ,...meant for quite ,...you cant close the door to block out the 3 other noises going on in the gym because people "walk " into the glass door. so because of stupid people I can not have quite in the spa area and close the door that is meant to have quite in the spa area. So if your going here expecting to have any type of quite for your black card membership you don't and you won't they will keep on opening the door and you will hear the loud music , people checking in at the front, and banging of gym equipment plus the other noises in the "black card spa ". For a "judgment-free zone" it sure is a judgmental place. Would not recommend if you actually lift heavy because you get people harassing you for the way you workout, particularly if you're a young small woman like me, having men twice my size and age harass me for working out. Embarrassing, childish, and ridiculous of not only them and their lack of upbringing, but the gym for not doing anything about it. I've trained at 5+ gyms (real gyms), began coming to this location out of convenience as opposed to my usual gym where I am working towards a 300-pound deadlift, currently at 250+ pounds. While there are no barbells here, I am still able to complete other compound exercises to aid my hypertrophy and strength goals. In doing so, I've been harassed by several men twice my size, abruptly interrupting not only my workout but everyone else's to criticize my workout and resting (which, has only happened here at Planet, not any other real gym I've been to). Guess what, when you lift heavy, like 1.5-2x your body weight, you get tired and need to rest. Not rocket science, but apparently it is. Not everyone trains the same and not everyone has the same goals; working out is not one-size-fits-all. Their hostility and harassment for perpetuating these notions isn't something gyms should tolerate. Sure, I'm probably not the target audience; that doesn't excuse creating a hostile workout environment going against the entire intent of Planet Fitness, so I'll be canceling. read more
