I love this gym, but the same leg machine always is broken like forever. I've told the front desk it used to be a lot nicer here and now it seems like the riffraff is moving in from the other location in Spokane unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I just saw a hooker and her pimp sitting in the stretching room. She was acting like she was in heat. It was disgusting. I don't know why they don't have a dress code here. People are just walking around in their underwear nowadays. If they just got rid of 1/4 if their equipment and added more benches, free weights, etc. it would be alot better if a person lace to workout. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for such a specific issue, but it's an important one. They have continued to charge me despite nearly a year of trying to cancel. My first cancellation didn't work, and I noticed months later...then COVID hit. I called repeatedly for months, with no responses to my voicemails. The club opened back up in August, still without any form of contact, and began charging my account again without permission. Whenever I go in, there is no manager present, and no one else is "authorized" to assist me. Planet Fitness: If you aren't going to return calls, you need to post an email. Customers need to be able to resolve disputes! And if you are closed without any form of contact for months, you need to reach out before resuming membership fees...I didn't even know you were open! I'm now going through the fraud/dispute process with my bank because I literally cannot reach your management. It may not be intentional, but it is unacceptable. *Note: The facilities are clean, friendly, and maintained. If not for this fraud issue, I would have no complaints...minus 3 stars for bad business practices. read more

Ok, I never thought that I was a "gym" person! Rating PF as a 5 is all about what I do with what they have to offer. Let's start with the front desk...the greeting station...the place that can make or break a great workout. STOP...that's not their job...it's up to you to determine what type of workout you're going to have. I get great greetings because I give great greetings. On the days where my muscles burn and my butt hurts, they might get a half smile...nothing to do with them. And if you don't get a "have great day" with a smile, who the heck cares.., you just got stronger and healthier...tell yourself to have a great day!!!! The Excellent Trainer...Zeke! He's loved and hated...sometimes in the same sentence. Does he take it personal and walk away and quit...NO!!!! He keeps doing what he does...just like the sun, he keeps on shining even though folks get mad because he's so hot and burns (no innuendoes here folks, just a metaphor)...Zeke keeps it real...he tries his best to keep us safe while working out but we usually don't listen and we come back for correction and there he is...still shining. This was the 45th Planet Fitness I have been in since December 15, 2016 (the date of the visit was March 28, 2017). This was clean gym that was busy without being packed. The equipment was new and in good repair. They seemed to have most of the latest equipment which is always a plus. The late out was very conductive to working out without crowds. The trainer seemed like a good guy and was very popular. His classes were packed, which was an issue since no one else could use the 30 minute workout area. But good for him for having full classes as I hadn't seen that at any other gym. read more

I love my Planet Fitness membership. I travel extensively and use it often. I usually am not persnickety about perfection in a gym but this one threw me for a loop--- it was so dirty. I wore my socks in the shower and tried not to touch many surfaces. There was trash and dirt on the floors, hair in the shower and dirty footprints, as well as nasty mirrors. A used bandaid left on the counter and dust on the stalls that dropped down on my clothes. I can't go back to this location. It's awful. read more

I would give Planet Fitness negative stars if I was able! I go to Planet Fitness because of the 30 minute workout room. This room is supposed to reserved for customers that want to do the 30 minute work out. There are signs ALL OVER this room stating that this is what it is for. Every single time I try to use this room for a work out there are people camped out on machines and using their phones and never getting off the machines. I have asked numerous times at the front desk if they could monitor this. I have never seen a single employee ever come into this room to check this. Last night while I was trying to finish up the 30 minute work out 2 women came in and sat down on the only 2 machines I still needed to use to finish the circuit. They both sat down and promptly got on their phones. Neither one of them were using the machine and were both just on their phones. I decided to ask both of them if I could quickly do my 1 minute rep on the machine as they were both on their phones. One women was very rude and said "you can rest on the machine". I told her this room was for the 30 minute circuit and she looked at me and said I am not talking to you and promptly put her head phones on. Mind you she still did not use the machine! I happened to see an employee close by so I went to ask her if she could help me with this woman. The employee said she was giving a tour and for me to go to the front desk for assistance. I went to the front desk and stood there waiting for the employee named Anthony who was at the desk to look up from his cell phone. I finally had to say excuse me to get his attention. I explained what had happened back in the 30 minute circuit room. He said to me "ya that happens to me when I work out too, people stay on machines." I explained to him that this was not in the general work out area but in the room that is reserved for the 30 minute circuit. He just gave me a blank stare. I said to him so you aren't going to do anything about this and I continued to get the blank star from Anthony. I just decided to walk away as I was so frustrated at this point! When my husband and I went to leave my husband asked Anthony why he would not do anything about this. Anthony said that I didn't give him time to do anything (even though I did) and he had went and called his manager. Anthony said "I am kinda new here". My husband said you have been her for several weeks (because we have seen him there) and you aren't going to enforce the rules? I asked Anthony for name of the manager so I could speak to him. At that point Anthony got extremely belligerent with us and said I am not going to talk to you and said we were being condescending! I said to him how are we being condescending? I asked for the hours that the manager worked and he refused to tell me and said we were going to be kicked out!?! I found another employee and asked for the managers information because Anthony was refusing and yelling at us! At that point Anthony was going back and forth with my husband saying to him, O yea what are you going to tell my manager.... He was being very aggressive toward us. I have NEVER EVER been treated like this by anyone at any business. Then all of a sudden Anthony wanted to shake my husbands hand???? My husband said I am not going to shake your hand! We proceeded to walk out. Today I went into the gym to try to talk to the manager but he was busy. I left my contact info and asked for him to call me. I have not received a call and probably will not get a call. Needless to say we will never return to this gym! read more

There is one front desk worker who is the saving Grace of this place. Most the female workers don't look up from their phones to tell you to have a good workout or to tell you good bye. Their "no commitment" plans are a lie & a fraud. $58 cancellation fee AND they charge you for the last month even when you cancel with a weeks' notice. They give you the contract on a signature pad so small that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what you're signing. They do not print out the full sized contract until AFTER you've signed it. When asked about their contracts they LAUGH and say no one reads them anyway!! If it was worth the time they'd be in small claims court TOMORROW! I've been a member at many gyms over the years, and I've never been able to be consistent. There's something different about Planet Fitness. It has to be more than just the positive sayings and encouragement plastered all over the wall. Or maybe that's just it. The whole vibe of the place is about encouraging you (and me) to take any steps we can take - at our level - to improve our health and fitness. I love it there. The staff are just as encouraging as the atmosphere, and Zeke, the trainer - though I've only attended a couple of his classes - is REALLY good! He has just the right balance of encouragement and toughness. And the price... well, it's just downright great. Makes it really hard to make excuses not to do this for oneself. Oh, and did I mention that most of the other "gym rats" that are there each time I go are a beautiful mix of people who are just starting on their journey and have many pounds to shed and those who represent the end goal of great fitness. read more

It charged me for 3 months then was told I can't use the back account I had been using and they still wanted me to pay the annual fee. I just love Planet Fitness! The front desk staff is so awesome and helpful and they always remember your name and ask how you're doing! The equipment is new and clean and free tanning and HydroMassage is included in your membership you can't beat the price and the staff is so friendly! I sprained my back but I'm getting back into training again soon but it's worth it even still for the tanning and the HydroMassage! Planet "Fitness" is the Walmart of gyms. It caters to the classless masses, which is fine for people who aren't really into working out, have no fitness goals, or go to the gym to socialize. However of you are focused on attaining a specific fitness goal or are serious about getting in shape, you may want to consider an alternative to planet fitness. I have been going to this location along with other locations around the country for about a year now. It's ok as an emergency workout or late at night. At peak times you'd be lucky to get any workout in. I have stood in there for 20 minutes waiting for any machines or free weights to be available several times in the last week. Meanwhile people are chatting on their bluetooth or just sitting on equipment staring into space. I go to the gym to workout and leave, if you have a similar agenda find another gym. read more

It's an ok place to get some cardio in...not a lot of room for free weights if that's you're thing. The plus side is that it's very affordable, but that's also a downside as it's very busy during peak hours...I've sometimes been unable to find a parking space there. read more

My biggest complaint so far is that there is a handful of stationary bicycles but a GIGAZILLION treadmills!!! WHY?!? I have a 50% chance of using a bike while there, but more than 50% of the treadmills are not in use. Additionally, there are not enough dumbbells, as those are fought over as well. This location in Spokane Valley is poorly designed!!! You cannot be comfortable. You have to avoid people jogging or running through the facility. Go to a Crossfit gym if you want that type of workout-or go, I don't know, OUTSIDE MAYBE...?!? I like going, but I want to use what I want to use, or the membership is useless. This is the first gym I have ever had this type of issue with. The staff is awesome and very friendly. People do a horrible job of cleaning sweat off the devices they are done using. It's gross. Another complaint-why cant I pay other ways, such as with a debit card, or every three months. Seems I can do that with other gyms quite easily. Is Planet Fitness behind the times? read more

This planet fitness is probably the most messed up situation I've seen at a business. One employee is always on his phone and talking to his friends at the counter, and it's a fight to get anything accomplished. On top of that, the cleaning lady always reeks of alcohol and cigarettes-seriously, is it that big of a deal to have your employees show up clean and sober? I have never been successful at consistently going to the gym until I joined planet fitness and took advantage of their personal training classes with Zeke! He does an amazing job at motivating, encouraging and creating a positive atmosphere where many different types of people can feel successful. I would highly recommend his fitness classes! Also, I have to mention that this gym only costs me $20/month! So basically I am paying $20 to have a personal trainer who I see 3-4 times/week! Amazing! I would love to see more cardio classes in addition to the available fitness classes, and it would be awesome if Planet Fitness offered women's defense classes as it would fit nicely along with the no intimidation policy that Planet Fitness does an excellent job at implementing! read more

I have had a planet fitness membership for a couple of years now. I love working out here normally it's a staple in my everyday life. I just moved here to Spokane and decided to stop by at my local planet fitness. What better way to settle in then get comfy at the new planet fitness location. So anyways I brought my fiancé with me, he was on a machine behind me and this dude who looked like he was amped up on steroids comes over to him and calls him a "liberal fuck " tells him he has a small dick and should learn how to work out. I told him if he wanted to use the machine he could have just asked politely. He proceeded to say "oh you solve all your mans problems for him, what are you his mommy?" We proceeded to move our things and try to continue to enjoy our workout. We got onto the treadmills when a planet fitness worker approaches us. He tells us the guy complained about us. I told the worker how that gentleman approached us and treated us and the worker told me that he is friends with the manager and works out there everyday. That he's a "member." Guess what? I'm a member too, looking for somewhere I can feel comfortable working out. Sad to say I think I am ending my membership here. The worker said they are lenient there. I'm sorry I've been to four different planet fitnesses in different states and all of them have followed protocol. read more
