This location is my favorite go to in Waldorf. Mornings are never too crowded which makes it easier to access equipment. Staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Staff member Zaid is a great addition at this location. He is always pleasant, professional and willing to help. He is a trainer at this location and a great one at that. I've been a Planet Fitness member for years, and one of the recent changes I'm disappointed with is the no gym bags on the gym floor policy. I understand the importance of safety and keeping walkways clear, but this rule doesn't seem to consider members who use small gym bags to carry essential items such as lifting straps, resistance bands, belts, water bottles, personal hygiene products, and other workout necessities. If this policy remains in place, I'm seriously considering switching to another gym that better accommodates members' practical needs. My bag is very small, and I've been using it responsibly on the gym floor for over four years without issue. Many members don't want to place their personal belongings directly on the floor, and forcing people to leave items elsewhere can actually create more clutter when belongings are spread out around equipment. A small, designated bag area near workout stations or allowing compact bags would be a much more reasonable solution. I was a PF Black Card member. RARELY use the Waldorf Md location. Was asked to leave after working out for an hour with slides on. Dumb policy, This place is poorly managed. They should be more concerned about the broken equipment, molded and musky smells and roaches in the locker rooms. Stay away from this place. read more

As a visitor from Florida, I was riding through and stopped to take a shower. Staff was nice enough, but nice doesn't make it clean. The shower area was filthy. No accommodation to put your soap, and there was standing water in one of the dressing rooms. I know PF is supposed to have a judge free zone, but I can help but to judge that shower room. read more

Bumming on a friend account! So to say! I have not joined Planet Fitness, yet. I have a friend that I've been working out with each morning! I really enjoy coming early. The crowd is very slow, quiet and machines are available to hen we come early enough. We have come later than our desired time a few times, it's more crowded and less machines readily available. I appreciate all of the sanitation stations placed around the gym. I enjoy the friendly staff. They so am as we enter and as we leave each time. I have also been able to get some assistance in machine and workout suggestions when I've inquired at the front counter. read more

Top tier unacceptable!!!! First and foremost there was absolutely no hand soap in the men's locker room. When I went to report it to the front desk staff, they were already aware and told me that we provided hand sanitizer in place of the hand soap. That should never be allowed and especially not inside of a gym where everyone sweats, swap body fluids due to possibly not wiping down the equipment and then I have to walk out of the gym and walk next door to buy my own handsoaps. That's unacceptable. It's a slap in the face especially when hygiene should be the #1 concern and responsibility outside of customer's safety. The staff didn't care and it wasn't until I threatened to report them, that they tried to leave and purchase soap. This was not the first time they did not provide handsoap, and from that experience, I have to travel with my own just because I can not trust the gym to stay on top of the bare minimum. Within the last 3-4months this location has run out of paper towels needed to wipe down the workout equipment after use at least 3 times. This is unsanitary. I'm not one to complain as I do understand that under ordering of supplies can happen, but orders should have been doubled & the issue should have been resolved after the first occurrence. read more

I have been talking about it for months. I finally did it and joined Planet Fitness! And even though my Husband has a full gym in our basement(Yep. He is fine, fit and mine!), I need structure. So if I pay for it(only the basic package for $10/ month), you can best believe I do not waste my coins. I will get all the bang for my buck! After my initial tour, I decided to use the treadmill and do a leg workout today. I so want those toned legs that I had when I ran track in high school. But when you are well-seasoned( that is what I call myself since I am over 50), Ba-be! You have to work so much harder. We shall see. Old dreams never die. They are multiple numbers of each piece of equipment so there was no waiting. They have cleaning stations and everyone I saw was wiping down their own equipment before and after using it along with the staff also cleaning the equipment. As much as I hate to say this, I'm going to the gym down the street that follows the real / current Maryland guidelines and allows the physical activity exception. Managers Melanie and José would not change their stance on the policy even after I showed them the official Maryland Guidelines. They would not give me the name of the owner, but told me this was his email: waldorf.md@planetfitness.com. Closed Labor Day all day!?? Members arrived Monday to find Waldorf PF doors locked. (no notice of closure provided to members) Unprofessional that management did not communicate and update the correct holiday hours on their web site or on the phone voice mail. Instead, management allowed for members to waste their time driving to the gym and discovering locked doors with no explanation. Question to Franchise owner: Why are you closed all day in the first place?! All Planet Fitness in the area were open on Labor Day with at least reduced hours. (Clinton, Alexandria, Ft. Washington open) If someone calls in sick it is the management's responsibility to locate coverage or provide coverage themselves! That is what professional franchise owners do. Sure, we can re-schedule a workout and come back the next day but that is not the point. Members have the right to be informed when the gym is open or closed! Overall, it is about respect and courtesy to notify members of your hours of operation. My husband and I have considered cancelling membership due to a few issues related to restroom cleanliness and upkeep, no bags on the gym floor policy not being enforced, and front desk communication professionalism with some of the staff. They offer a free day pass to learn about the gym. Very clearly stated on the website. There are no limited days or times listed. The workers at the desk said that they don't do that all the time and this was not one of those times. They recommended another gym instead of getting a membership at planet fitness. Unfortunately I have to edit my original review from a 4 star down to a 2 star simply because of 2 of the new staffing. I've been a member for years and a frequent user of this gym, tonight when I come in the girl follows me to the machine to tell me I need to take a photo so I ask, Can I just take it tomorrow her statement was flat out No so I ask why not she states because we need to take a photo of everyone. I was just there yesterday there were no signs up or messages from the gym stating they needed new pictures or anything. I just don't understand the issue of why she couldn't wait a day or give further explanation of why it had to be tonight that I take it, other than just because we need it. I'm sure I took a photo when I first joined years ago so what did they do delete it. Anyway, I left, thankfully I have other gym memberships in the area. I was content with my PF experience until today. It's unfortunate I have to report this establishment's employees. Had to call corporate today to report one or two employees who were on duty on 9/29 at 2pm who got a hold of my banking information. One was named Alexis. Members beware. Then after knowing I caught on I called to aak for management and they have been hanging the phone up in my ear and/or letting it ring out since 2:10pm - approx 40 minutes. I also called from my work phone and have it recorded in a time lapse video. According to PF cooperate, based in NJ I believe, this facility is independently owned. So now Im trying to FOIA the owners information and get a formal complaint rolling. Despite low membership and gym cost this is still a business and integrity and professionalism should be a minimum. Given the nature, I will have to see this complaint through. Again it is unfortunate the basics in running a business fall short here. read more

This gym is perfect for my wife and I. The staff constantly cleans the equipment. The equipment is always operable. The members are either friendly, considerate or at the least stay to themselves. The bathrooms are always clean. For me, all of these things matter. Additionally, on certain days, the staff provide breakfast like donuts or bagels and pizza for lunch. All for a monthly membership fee that's just a little more than a venti latté. Go figure!! read more

I am pretty fit and joined PF because of how cheap it is. Overall I am happy enough with it. The gym is target towards casual gym goers and because of that they don't have a lot of hardcore equipment but it's fine. I can still find at least two exercises per muscle group and still get a good workout. I do wish they had some bench presses and a way to do deadlifts. Other then those two exercises I can do most of my regular exercise routine. read more

This gym sucks! If you have gone to any of the other local planet fitness locations you will feel cheated. They don't offer the same equipment. It's one of the smaller locations. The staff are super friendly but you can tell that they hate the owner or manager. The trash cans will overflow and the female employees will just walk past the mess like they don't see it. The gym doesn't offer wifi which is ridiculous. I would like to listen to music online while working out so I drive to the district heights or bowie location instead. I was a member of Maximum Health for years before they closed and I can tell you PF is cleaner, and has more up to date equipment. I never had any issues. The only thing I wish they had was childcare like most other gyms in the area but other then that this gym is great. read more

There was a women worker in the men's locker room. I brought it to the manage's attention and he was very nice and apologetic for his worker. He mentioned he told her not to go in without announcing herself, but she didn't announce herself. I followed her in and she didn't stop when I called out to her. She immediately went into the closet in the mens room passing half dressed men. If it were a guy in the women's room then he would be fired and it would make the news. I was a member since July 2018. I actually only used the membership about 2 or 3 times. I asked about canceling the membership about 4 months after not using it. But I was told that I had to pay a buyout fee, which I stated I was not aware of. I cancelled today. The manager Kevin is very very rude. He has an arrogant attitude, you would think he owned this place and built it himself. I have managed several businesses and am a local business owner and I would NEVER want my staff, manager or not, speaking to customers the way he does. Whoever the franchise owner is should seriously consider this. I see several other reviews saying this about him, so I know I am validated. I came in club to cancel my membership over a month ago because I decided to join somewhere else. No one sent me an email confirmation or anything. I was charged again this month so I called and he said there's nothing he can do for me without documentation and if I cancelled it they would have sent an email. He continued to cut me off and was very rude. I asked if it was now cancelled and he said yes so I asked for an email so I can document it in case it happened again next month. He said no the system can't send me an email. This makes absolutely no sense. I then asked if he, as the manager, could send me anything and he refused. I asked for corporate's number and he said there's no corporate, it's franchised owned. I asked for the owner's name and he refused to give it to me. I asked if there's another manager that I could speak with and he said there's no one higher than him (I find that hard to believe) and hung up on me. It's not about the $25, I can dispute that with my bank but the point is I shouldn't have to. Especially when I'm already paying for a gym membership elsewhere. Also, a person like him should not be managing ANYTHING! If you care about your establishment, get him out of there. read more

When it comes to picking a gym, a place to work out don't let price be your main factor in your decision-making. Does the term, "you get what you pay for" ring a bell. Well today it did for me - paying less than $20 a month includes a bunch of ridiculous rules that aren't reasonable if you have big weight loss goals. No gallons of water, no jump ropes or additional equipment, no loud making noise when your on the machine. It's interesting how all of these things matter if you are here to do your 30 minute or 1 hour workout. Updated review. A lot of things have changed in a year. It's now a 24 hour gym. There's toilet seat covers. The locker room is still the same, but, it seems cleaner, I think they changed cleaning services. There's new management and the team seems better somehow. Some of the machines are looking worn out and it seems to not be a priority to keep them clean underneath and fix what's broken. I joined under the $99 a year plan, no longer a VIP member, I don't miss anything I didn't use. I do miss the massage chairs and the hydro massage once in a while though. I don't know if I will renew my membership when the time comes. We are thinking of putting in a home gym. read more

filthy! filthy! filthy! i'm so disappointed i couldn't rate it a zero. this place should be closed down by the health inspector, the city of waldorf, and the gym association. the equipment is old and outdated, stair master has been out of service since december 2022. they finally got the hot water fixed after not having it for quite some time. there's never anyone at the desk in the early morning to validate that you are checking in as a paid customer. i can't believe the reviews that are rating this place higher than a one. honestly it must be the staff and their family members. i'm appalled!!!! there is no way in heaven that it should be anything higher. unbelievable. it is a disgrace to all planet fitnesses around this area. with waldorf becoming now the richest county in md, people migrating to this area will not tolerate establishments working in these conditions and taking their hard-earned money as a gift!!!! i have never in my life written a review. this was warranted and needed. i will work on writing every person that is necessary until this place is either shut down for non-compliance or renovated for those people who choose to continue to visit this location b/c they can't get to any of the other gyms in this area due to whatever reason. the staff is not knowledgeable of the equipment and timeframe for fixtures, cleaning, etc. i asked one of the workers there why is this gym so filthy. the answer that i was given was "i was out of town over the weekend and no one was here to clean. we only have 2 other staff members that are male and they couldn't get into the woman's area to clean". unbelievable!!!!! pay these young adults more money to keep this gym operational above substandard measures. not to mention that some of their attitudes are very unprofessional. when i notified one of the employees of a problem, she became very irritated. this is due to a lack of work ethics and not knowing how to deal with work issues properly. there's so much more i can elaborate on, however, i have to get ready to attend the new planet fitness that opened its doors on president's day. i'll see you all there b/c there's no way that those who have the transportation to leave and go elsewhere would stay in this uncleaned, pf another day. i have seen so many members at the new one and we all echoed the same sentiments concerning this pf waldorf. i posted pics to substantiate my claim, however, the pics were filtered and did not post to the public. they showed blood and bloody tissue left on the floor in the gym area and bathroom from the previous day!!! afraid i would get sick from attending. cleaning bottles empty, and as i was told the woman's bathroom couldn't get cleaned b/c no female was on staff that day (wtf) etc. read more

I was satisfied with my membership until I tried to cancel as I have been living in Tampa, Fl for the past 2 years. I called the Waldorf, MD Planet Fitness 4 times in the last 4 months to cancel my membership. I was told I can only cancel my account by writing a letter and mailing it in. Which I find extremely odd since I signed up ONLINE when the gym opened. Why cant I cancel on line? Makes absolutely no sense.....But anywhoooooo.......I sent the first letter in Feb. Still got charged in Mar. Called again, they stated they didn't receive the letter. Sent another one in March. Got charged again in April..... Had my sister physically bring my letter up to the gym. She was told they couldn't accept it from her. (but they'll accept it from the mail man.......(yeah okay!) I called today and they tell me FOR THE FIRST TIME the letter has to be certified in order for them to know if they received it. I am beyond aggravated. This should be a simple transaction....and 4 times $20 is $80. This is UNACCEPTABLE! I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB. Just want to make sure anyone else stays as far away from this place as possible, especially if you are military and move often sometimes with little notification. Amongst moving my job, house and kids, Planet fitness was not on the "make sure you visit before you move" list. If government can have my whole house packed up and moved to a new location in a week (all of which is set up ONLINE) then surely PF can cancel my account online!!!!! I feel bad for Marcus.....Poor guy answered the phone today and took the brunt of my unhappiness. It was only his second day. Just downgraded my premium membership and was charged an additional $29 cancellation fee. There is no reason to pay the extra fees for equipment that is frequently broken and takes weeks for them to repair. I wish there was a better alternative in the La Plata area. I work out about 5 days a week at home and have gotten bored with myself! I needed variety finally so I decided to bite the bullet and buy a gym membership. I am so happy to say that I joined Planet Fitness. Jesse is a very nice young lady who took me on the tour and explained the membership packages to me. I found her to be a cheerful, knowledgeable staff member who spoke well and greatly influenced my decision to purchase. That massage bed was also a factor in me buying their best membership, which happens to be cheaper than most of the other gym memberships locally. I worked out on the lower body weight machines and the elliptical and I am feeling it today. I am pleased with my decision and that massage bed completely made it worth it. Very happy! read more

I decided to stop at this location because I was in the area. I came her at about 6:00 on a Thursday, it was a nice size crowd there. Mostly all the machines were full. I give this location 3 stars for 2 reasons. First reason is that it is small. It's a lot smaller than other locations that I have been to. It just felt a little claustrophobic. There is a section with weights, but it's not to much room for you to do your free weights. Second reason is the locker room. I went into a changing room and there was a huge puddle in the middle of the floor, I was so upset because I didn't look down before I walked in. It wasn't a stall, so I don't think it was a puddle of urine. However, I still stepped in whatever it was before leaving out to go into a different room. I had to use the restroom, but from the impression I received from the changing room I decided not to. I guess if it's not a lot of people in there and you do not have to enter the locker room then it's okay to go to. read more

$10 for a day pass!? My mom, who is a senior thought I could work out with her (for free). Not only was she terribly mistaken but she was treated terribly. The little snarly, smart #%^ front desk attendant was on the verge of taking me to a place I'd rather not go...watching him get smart w/my mother like that was very unnecessary! Plant Fitness would be wise to have a serious conversation with this little guy (Sarion? or whatever he spelled out to my mother) before he causes trouble & decreased memberships. It's horrible. Trying to cancel a membership has been the most inconvenient process I've ever had working with a company. No one there knows the protocol and they are all huge assholes every time I try to talk to them. I work in service, so I am pretty skilled at being nice to people over the phone. They always break me down with attitude and incompetence. The gym itself is garbage too if you want basic things like free weights that are over 60lbs, a squat rack, or a bench press. I would never go to Planet Fitness again- at $10 a month it is just not worth it. The late night guy is a good dude though. Never any hassle from him. read more
