I'm a newbie to say the least lol. The atmosphere is very welcoming and spacious. Week one, they offered refreshments, which gave the experience an added touch. I love the fact that staff took the time to answer all my questions. The instructor even provided a tour of the private room. This is my 2nd week and I still enjoy coming to class.

I signed up fot 8 classes a month, for 3 months introductory as part of grand opening. If you cant find any classes to meet your schedule, you lose tge 8 credits each month evrn though YES, you paid for them and No there were no available classes. If you are lucky to come off a wait list, for the 1 class you lijelt booked 2 weeks prior, you dont know till an hr before the class that day and if cant make it you lose a credit. Learn fron me and avoid this gimmick style. I expressed my concerns about limited classes and not able to get the value for my money and I needed to cancel this membership after the 3 months introductory, and Liv ( the GM) only resolution was, sorry you had a bad experience and it doestnt matter there are no classes available, we will charge you another month past the introductory period even though they told us at openinig the introductory would not auto renew. This cant be legal...This is the best part, there are still no classes availabe fkr the next 4 weeks, so what is the charge for? Stay away!

While there, I went to barre3 THREE days in a row for classes with Erica Walker (2x) and Rebecca Gray. The studio is absolutely adorable - and Jennifer (was it Jennifer?) who worked at the front desk was so kind from the get-go. Her hubby worked at the same company as mine and I felt like we could be fast friends. barre3 is one of my fave workouts - yoga, barre and pilates - even sometimes a little bit of dance thrown in. It's perfect for toning, cardio and strength. What I love about barre3 is that it's for folks for all shapes and sizes. No prior experience required! Erica and Rebecca's classes were fantastic. The Y's satellite location in the Bi-Lo shopping center is convenient and better than most think…read more Though it looks small and less than appealing to most, the satellite Y has everything you need for a good workout. The main room houses enough free weights to accomplish just about everything except Olympic lifts. There is also a good variety of machines to use. The satellite also houses a studio that is used for a variety of aerobics and strengthening classes. The cardio room has over ten treadmills and a variety of cross-trainers and step machines with three large TVs to watch while working out. There are even locker rooms and a daycare here. The locker rooms are just lockers and restrooms (unless you count the sad sauna box...boo!) Overall, the Y on Heckle is a smaller version of almost every other Y. It's old looking, but gets the job done. If you're in a hurry, or don't care about all the bells and whistles, the Y's satellite on heckle is a good gym.

I did multiple class times and all of the coaching I received was fantastic. Dan in particular is a phenomenal coach. The programing was awesome, the box and equipment were very nice, tidy and in great condition. The people I met at the classes were super welcoming and friendly. All in all great experience. I highly recommend this box for a drop in or a full time member! If I lived here I would go to this Box 100% for sure.
