Misleading. I ordered soccer gear for my kid. In addition to shipping I was charged a $16.95 "Site Fee." What is that? A made up fee to collect more?! Beware. Next time I'll find another company. One and done here. Just a heads up to other potential customers. read more

Didn't have he greatest experience with this store. We went there looking for some shorts after being told that it was there in the correct size over the phone. When we showed up the manager stated that he didn't have that size and got defensive when we asked for another size. He stated that adidas is out if everything right now and they won't get more in for about a month. He continued to argue what he said over the phone and at that point I just wanted to get out of there. He clearly needs some better service. Many bad reviews here but we had a great experience over any other place we have looked for cleats. We had an attentive young female salesperson who listened to our needs. She brought us many pairs of shoes that fit our request and helped put them on and gave advice about comparing them, how they would wear and break in over time. This doesn't seem like a high bar but it is becoming more difficult to find in store. It seems most stores stock very few styles, colors, and sizes and are understaffed on top of it. Lucky if I can get a couple of shoe boxes thrown our way at Dicks. In my opinion this is the best planet soccer location too. read more

I would leave zero stars if it let me write a review in that fashion. I have been coming to this store since it was the Soccer field in the 80's. I wish it were still the same amazing customer service. In 2008 a short fellow was working and helping me purchase shin guards and cleats. The entire time he was shamelessly hitting on me in a very creepy way. Where did I live, was I married, do I have kids, what is my soccer schedule, did I want to go out with him. I'm here to buy cleats not get a date. Fast forward to yesterday. I take my son in for his first set of soccer gear. Same short fellow. Instead of talking to my son about how things fit him he proceeded to asked me the same effing creepy line of questions. I try my hardest to always support local businesses, I will not be coming back to the store. Can I please make a purchase without asking about my marriage, child status and phone number? It's pretty gross. Your employees (possibly the owner) need to find a different place for their dating pool. read more

Great place with guys that know the game and know the products. My boyfriend got a pair of cleats (Diadora)- the guy didn't pressure him into something more expensive than what he had in mind...they have boots ranging in price from $40 to $220+...really good selection. Additionally, we bought 3 pairs of Adidas socks, 2 pairs of Adidas shin guards and I got some Adidas shorts. I bought my boots somewhere else (before our trip there), but in the future I would consider shopping for them at this place. They encourage you to try things on, and talk about the pros and cons of different product types (haven't purchased cleats in over 15 years, and boy have things really changed in that time). They've got ref and goalie stuff too, you name it. Was definitely worth the trip. read more

Every time I see a guy there who I assume is the owner and he is extremely polite, knowledgable, helpful and efficient. I believe they help support some local teams too, which is a major plus in my book. I have been forced to buy here twice because my daughter's soccer club does business with this store. The first time the clerk yelled---literally--at another parent who asked, in a pleasant tone, if he was sure about the size. His exact words: "Are you trying to give me another midlife crisis?!" Then he assured her if she didn't listen and order what he said EXACTLY, she would NOT get a refund. Later, when I ordered a warm-up jacket as a gift for my daughter, they had no examples for her to try on---so, you guessed it: it doesn't fit, and I can't return it because it's personalized. Please don't waste your time or $$$!!Unfortunately I won't be able to support this local store any longer. I purchased some shin-guards here previously and had a decent experience but this time solidified my refusal to return. I went in to purchase some soccer cleats and the owner asked much I wanted to spend. I said no more than $100 (which was really more than I wanted to spend, my bad.) He showed me one pair that was $100, Puma's. They were nice but I didn't want to spend quite that much. I asked for something cheaper and he gave me a shoe that was clearly WAY to small. I asked for it in a larger size and he went to the back and brought out a larger pair. When I tried those on they fit better but now seemed to big and didn't fit as well as the Puma's (which is exactly what he wanted.) I said that I wanted to go with the cheaper ones and he practically gave me a guilt trip for purchasing the still $70 pair of shoes. Once I got home I tried them on again and realized he'd sold me a pair that was a size and a half larger than my normal shoes. They were WAY too big. He probably didn't think I would actually buy them and I would opt for the $30 more to get the pair that actually fit my foot. I had to return/exchange them but didn't really want to deal with that employee(manager?) again. However, I went in today and had a horrible return service. He asked why I wanted to return them and I stated they were too large. He started getting really frustrated and said that I should have thought about it before buying them since I am returning them. He stated that there is a card fee that we would have to charge me of $1. ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! I don't care if you get a card fee, as a business owner that is the hit you take to service your customer! You help them and do whatever you can to ensure they RETURN TO YOUR BUSINESS! You do exactly the opposite of this manager. I would prefer to buy from local business's but I got the same shoes for $40 at Dick's. read more

Women Soccer Players!! This was one of the most infuriating experiences I've had while shopping. I have played High level soccer for many years and I have worn many different types of shoes. When my mom and I went in to find shoes there was no person asking if you could be helped, and once we asked I regretted it. They were so unbelievably sexist. This is my first experience with a rude, sexist shop owner and it was horrifying. First, he was telling me how (because I'm a girl) I would only be looking at flashy shoes. He then continued to tell me how they do not carry women's sizes because they simply don't sell. Once I told him that I fit into men's sizes he was visibly annoyed with me and refused to put me into a men's size that I asked for. He would only put me into a youth shoe. He then thought I was incapable of tying and putting a shoe onto my foot and he had to mansplain putting a soccer shoe on. I then told him about what soccer shoe I am wearing right now and the size to see if I could see something in the same style and size. Being the type of man he is, he cut me off and told me that he could not help me. This was the most infuriating experience while shopping for soccer shoes because he tried to discredit my knowledge about a sport I have played for 15 years. It was disgusting and I hope female soccer players decide to go somewhere else where the staff will work with your "female feet". read more

I have been going to this store for the last 30 years, ever since it opened under the name of Soccerfield, and now Argali Planet Soccer. It is the best place to go to, to get soccer equipment and apparel. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and ownership. I would not hesitate to go back. Best of all, it is a local business and customers get personalized attention, not like the "online" stores which could be located in Abarghoo or wherever else in the world. read more

I did not actually visit the store, but i called looking for a specific product. The person I talked to informed me that they did not carry what I was looking for but offered to have some shipped from another location. He also talked to me for a bit about why I wanted the shoes I did and then offered to help me find a comparable product. This level of customer service is not seen often enough any more. read more

Harassed tonight at the Planet Soccer on Lyndale for returning a pair of cleats. When I first walked in and the older man saw the box he said "yes?" in an irritated voice. I told him I had cleats to return. He interrogated "why?", (my daughter decided she did not like them), "when did you buy them?" (just this week-within the 14 day window) and then inspected them for at least a minute under lights visually and by feeling the bottom to see if they were worn. He was visually upset and kept shaking his head and asked again why we were returning them. He told me multiple times he lost out on another sale of someone who wanted the same cleats, and lectured that if she did not like them we should have waited and not purchased them. I told him again that she changed her mind and that I was within the 14 day return window they told me about when I first purchased them. He again lectured me about purchasing them. He took my card, ran it, threw the receipt at me and said, "there, the money's back on your card!" Wow!! Never in my life! Who makes a customer feel like a criminal for returning shoes? I have never been treated so disrespectfully! Even if we did cost them a sale (and doubtful, since it was the latest Nike Magista Obra and will probably be sold again by the end of the week) he just cost his company years worth of cleats from me and those who hear this story and are appalled. If they do not want returns then have a no return policy- so simple! I will never set foot in that store again! read more

Terribly rude! Save your money! I paid $110 for a pair of soccer cleats. My daughter wore them 10 minutes on the field and was in pain so she came out of the game and put her old cleats on. I called the store and spoke with the owner. He told me to bring them down and as long as they looked "good and he could sell them for at least half price he would take them back". We drove down to Minneapolis and he was a rude jerk from the first minute. He didn't ask what we were looking for, how much, what color, what brand. He brought out 2 pair. One neon green Nike and one Neon pink and purple. When I asked what other options we had he turned ugly. He said "this is it, I can't help you". I said then just give me a refund. He said "you yen them now I won't help you". He has no idea what customer service is or how to even give a small smile, thank you, please....nothing. Don't ever purchase anything from this store. He has one in Plymouth as well. He screwed me out of a soccer jacket he never customized for $75 and now these cleats for $110. Never again will I step foot in Either store. People, customer service goes a long way. If you expect to get what you pay for Don't Buy Anything From This Guy!!! read more
