First of all, I fully support everything that this organization does. (I wouldn't have come here in the first place if I didn't) however, my experience at this location was nothing but negative from beginning to end. To start, I made an appointment to receive and IUD. Making an appointment was straightforward, and I was able to do this online. At the time my my appointment, all the workers were lovely and treated me with respect. It was however the after care that I received that made me rate my experience as 1 Star. A couple days after my procedure, I began to get really sick. Awful fever, shakes, exhaustion, uterine pain, the entire works. I ended up going back in for a check up, and discovered that I was running a 103 fever, and had developed a uterine infection from unsterile insertion technique. The doctors there prescribed me antibiotics, and upon checkup, they could not find the location of my IUD, and sent me to the ER for an ultrasound to make sure that it hadn't migrated, and requested that I come back in after my visit to the ER for a checkup. I scheduled my next appointment then and there. While at the ER, the doctors told me that I was prescribed the right medication, but for too short a time course and that they needed to increase my prescription otherwise I would probably get sick again after finishing my dose. After paying for my ER visit and having the ER locate my missing IUD, I showed back up to this location for my checkup, to find out that the office was closed bc their only doctor called out and they hadn't called me to notify me. There was one lovely receptionist who was in the office, and sent me to Raleigh since they didn't have anyone working who could see me. Checkup in Raleigh went great, and I thought I'd be able to move past the situation.
A month or so later, I began receiving bills from this location, claiming that I owed them money. Before even being seen on my first appointment, the receptionist collected my insurance information, and informed me that I was covered. I attempted to contact planned parenthood, and had to call and leave a message 2 times a day for 2 weeks before someone contacted me back. They informed me that the charges were for a copay that wasn't covered by my insurance. I reached out to my insurance company, and they told me that it was just an issue with how the paper work was filed, and that with my policy, I do not pay a copay. I was informed that when planned parenthood filed the paperwork the correct way, I would be completely covered. Then began my fight again trying to contact someone to get this sorted out. When I finally got ahold of someone weeks later, the woman was nothing but rude and told me the insurance company has no right to tell them how to file paperwork and that I'll just have to pay it. This has been going on for months and is still unresolved.
After developing an infection from your treatment, paying for an ER trip for the same reason, incorrectly being prescribed antibiotics, not being contacted for about a cancelled appointment, and being incorrectly charged with no one being willing to help and admit their mistakes, I will NOT be returning to this location. It is a shame that this one location has sullied my view on a great organization in general read more
